ARSHAVIN DROPS ANOTHER BOMBSHELL

Andrey Arshavin admits Arsenal don't have the class to match title rivals Manchester United and Chelsea.
The dimunitive Russia international says the Gunners will never be champions while they have to rely on him as a makeshift centre forward.

Arsenal briefly went top of the Barclays Premier League last month after beating Bolton, but have since fallen six points off the pace following a draw at Aston Villa and last Sunday's 3-1 humbling by Manchester United.

'Third place is where we stand today, and that is already a great success for Arsenal when you take into account the class of our eleven players,' said Arshavin. 'Of course, we try to win every match, but class is class.'

The 28-year-old struggled to make an impact against United after starting as the spearhead at the Emirates. Arshavin's favoured role for Russia is as a second striker, though he has found success for Arsenal playing down the left wing.

'If Arsenal want to become champions, how can they select Arshavin as centre forward?' he said. 'I am 173cm (5ft 7in) and it suits me, but next to the big centre halves of United it is very difficult to fight for the ball, especially in the air.'

Asked if he was criticising Arsene Wenger's selection, he revealed his comments were instead prompted because the Arsenal boss had been unsuccessful in the transfer window.

'It's from frustration,' explained Arshavin of his makeshift role. 'Van Persie is injured and unlikely to play again this season. Eduardo is injured too, but he may be ready to face Chelsea. We are in a difficult situation when it comes to recruiting players.'

Arsenal face a tough task matching a Chelsea side who registered an impressive 3-0 win at the Emirates in November.
United's win last weekend was almost as impressive, with Arshavin surprised at how easily his team-mate Gael Clichy succumbed to the guile of winger Nani.

'In training it is very difficult for me to beat Clichy, but Nani made all the play through him.'

You totally miss the point Sauron, even Smalling is an unproven talent, the risk of signing him is only mitigated by the fact that people have already seen him seemingly hold his own against Drogba in a single game even though he got much help from Pantsil who had a stormer.
The risk of signing Smalling is that he is a young English defender with bags of potential whose market value can sky-rocket in few years.
If he develops into something decent in the next two years then United woulda saved £22 million.

Vidic and Rio (as well as the other top defenders manure has had such as Stam and Blanc) on the other hand were well proven before they moved to manure.
Vidic was an unknown Serb defender Fergie paid £7 million to buy. Fergie took a huge risk signing Vidic.
The same amount was shelled on Corluka and Ivanovic and they are not world class.
Vidic became a world class defender AFTER joining Man Utd(not before).

It remains to be seen if Smalling will actually cut it at the top end, it remains to be seen if even Evans can hold his own at that level as this is actually his first extended run in the team, people like you are quick to forget that Senderos actually benched Big Sol in the season we came 2nd to Chelsea in the 04/05 season and surpassed a record of clean sheets in the UCL while 20 years old.
If Evans can keep himself fit - He is a top defender.
We have watched him cage Drogba this season and he was magnificent at the Emirates.
Evans was chosen ahead of Pique - That should tell you how much SAF rates the lad.

We don't need to sign someone who has been deemed not good enough by the gaffer to test if he will suit the PL or not thank you, we already have enough of players we want to try coming through.
We shall see in May.

Arsenal no longer signing Savic and Galindo deal is not concluded yet (I doubt the veracity of that conclusion though with Arsene having confirmed that already, though I'm not sure what effect the age issue might have on any prior signed contract):
Wenger has no money to spend.
He lost out on Smalling and now he's backed off Savic again?
May God help Wenger.

Now Sauron, what did I tell you about us having a good number of CBs coming thru the youth ranks?
U have nada.
Johnny Evans is better than all the defenders in Arsenal and Evans is only 22.

I guess he wasn't ready for the first team yet unlike Smalling who had showed the ability to play in the PL already and Arsene didn't want to add more youth to those already coming thru. I guess the player Arsene is looking for is an immediate backup as CB for Djorou in case he doesnt return the same from injury, with the possibility of Djorou also getting games in the holding MF role in which he also played in as a youngster.
The pecking order for our CBs therefore looks like this:
I beg to disagree. . . . .
There's only way to know Savic was ready for the PL. . . . .Signing him.
How did Wenger know the lad ain't ready for this league. Can he be worse than Djourou, Cygan, Senderos?

1. Vermaelen(24) 6ft
2. Gallas (32)5ft 11
3. Big Sol (35)6 ft
4. Djorou(22) 6ft 4
5. Silvestre(33)6ft 1
5. Nordtveit (19)6ft 1
6. Bartley(18)6ft 3
7. Ignasi Miquel(17)6ft 3
See wack defenders. . . . . .
Look at the league table and see the number of goals Vermaelen-Gallas axis have conceded.
Tottenham, Birmingham, Villa and Stoke ALL have better defenders than Arsenal.

With Gallas, Big Sol and Obertan's uncle expected to be phased out of the team over the next 2-3 years, it is clear to see Arsene is still on the lookout for yet another young CB to give us 4 CBs in the 27 - 22 age range.
Wenger should sign Pique. grin

Hi All,
Can we have comments(honest one o!) on George graham's TKO on proffessor Wenger. Here we go;
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/2840058/Barcing-up-the-wrong-tree.html
Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. . . . .
Chelsea and Man Utd play beautiful football but when it's time to graft and get results, they know how to change to plan B(Something Arsenal lacks)

Good football is like a sexy woman. There's never a time when you see either and are left in doubt about it.
If you have to tell your viewers they're watching good football, you're not playing it.

Ronaldo was domesticated by Lahm in WC 2006,
Caged by Arne Friedrich in Euro 2008.
Ronaldo became lazier to dribble as his maturity sets in.
Lahm held Ronaldo very well but Nani's act of sodomy on Lahm in the Audi Cup is still under investigation in the Human Rights Office in Berlin.
Nani reduced Lahm to a pub defender. grin

Watch Euro 2004 and WC 2006 again.
Ashley Cole mauled Ronaldo throughout.

The immature Ronaldo was better at dribbling than the Ronaldo of 2004-2009.
Nani is a better dribbler than Ronaldo. What Nani did to Clichy/Nasri. . . . .Cristiano cannot do it if offered £300 million.

Singlehandedly How?

The same Sauron would say CR7 siglehandedly, Vidic siglehandedly, VDS singlehandedly, Rooney singlehandedly.

Now, How many people singlehandely won The CL trophy
Without Hargreaves, we wouldn't have won the CL.
The United team in Moscow woulda been lop-sided and Ronaldo woulda been forced to play on the right to face his nemesis(Ashley Cole).
Hargo made it possible for Ronaldo to play against the weakest link in the Chelsea defence(Essien).

Remember Hargo also despatched his penalty shoot-out nicely when CR7(WPOTY-elect) missed his own.

He single-handedly won UCL for Man Utd in 2007/8.
Knowing that winning the title is about £30 million + the league title he won for us(£50 milla). . . . .
I think United made a massive profit in the acquisition of Hargo.

What have Bayern won since they sold Hargo to Man Utd?
Not even a Semi-final berth? Na wa o!!!
Bayern Munich sold their birth right for a measly £19 million.

I thunk players 21 or younger dont have to be registered
There are various clauses surrounding players under 21.

Conditions for registration: List B

18.15 Each club is entitled to register an unlimited number of players on List B
during the season. The list must be submitted by no later than 24.00 CET on
the day before the match in question.

18.16 A player may be registered on List B if he is born on or after 1 January 1988
and has been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted
period of two years since his 15th birthday by the time he is registered with
UEFA. Players aged 16 may be registered on List B if they have been
registered with the participating club for the previous two years without
interruption.

Yes he is not. He won 11 titles in how many years. Find out how many years Bobby stayed in Nou Camp and how many trophies he won.
Fergie won 11 titles in 17 league seasons.
There's no LIVING/DEAD manager with the same record in the whole Solar System.

Sir Bobby Robson never won a league title with Nou Camp. . .What's so remarkable in Robson's 3 inferior titles in 2 seasons?
He only won an inferior European cup, Spanish FA cup and their Charity shield.
Fergie's achievement in 2007/8 alone dwarfs the whole success Bobby Robson copped with Barcelona.

Amazing!!!!

Find out the records of Bobby Robson  in Barca and find out why he was sacked in 1994
Sir Bobby Robson is not Sir Alex Ferguson.
Having won 11 league titles in the English league, only DEATH can sack Ferguson.
