He has been given several chances and if you were to compare stewart downing (less ability but final balls somewhat guaranteed) with nani i will definitely choose stewart cos that's what's needed to cut it in a fast moving premier league footie style.

Winger are usually bought to provide good quality balls and dats why beckham still excel today even though he has gone by his expiry date.

Nani is primarily a right footer. His left foot is weaker but SAF in his wisdom sticks him on the left.
This is why he cuts in instead of delivering those super crosses and besides. . . . .we don't have strikers good enough to nod those balls in.
A good poacher can make a useless cross look excellent. It's about timing and second guessing the winger.
We have Berbatov, Owen and Rooney as centre forwards. . . . .which of these guys are aerially powerful?

Would you consider a striker with enormous ability but zero final product when he was obviously bought to put the ball in the net.

Ronaldo had zilch END PRODUCT until his 4th season at Man Utd. When he first came in, he wanted to dribble everybody and score.
But his all round play improved season after season when he realised a simple pass to a team-mate is easier and more effective.

Nothing beats enormous ability cos a player whose ability at best is mediocre would be found out a la Theo Walcott.

Ability is the football skill needed to even make up the end product.
Those skills include dribbling, pace, positioning, guile, stealth, aerial prowess, mental alertness and awareness.
Nani has got all these indices but his biggest problem is the FINAL ball.

Even Giggsy(our best performer yet) gets the hairdryer treatment so it's not a case of SAF singling out Nani.

Ability-wise, there's no winger better than Nani in the EPL.
