It must be frustrating for YAKUBU and ODEMS.

The midfield has been horrible.
They have all OVERHIT the passes.

He's won a freekick.

I just hope we can make this COUNT.

There is nothing unrealistic about England winning the world cup. It is not like the Aborigines (no offence to Aborigines) are contesting the cup. They created football and have won the title before, albeit 44 years ago and have even gotten through to the final stages of the game in the 1990s. If the English can not get excited and passionate about the very game that they created which happens to be the most popular game in the world then no one else will.

Anyway as Sauron said you and A-40 seem to have serious hard -ons for anything English or British in general and I think it is quite pathetic. Why don't you concentrate on your own countries chances of winning instead of bashing Britain any chance you get?

@A40

Yes we created football and yes there might be better non-English players out there but that only means we are the best teachers. As I said, England can never lose at the Beautiful Game as we gave birth to it and without England you and your cohort Dayokanu would have nothing to w ank off to now!!! LOL! grin grin

They are obviously bitter hateful people. I suspect they are visa rejects.
U don't need to waste your energy on Dayokanu. . . . . . . He was refused visa to the UK more than a dozen times. grin
He hates anything British but he watches the English Premiership more than anything on TV.

When England qualifies for the next round, the anglophobes would change their tunes.
Just sit back and relax. I cannot wait for Rooney to sodomise his German team in the K.O. stages.

Guess who was coach of Super Eagles for over 2 years and couldn't strenghten his team? Since Westerhof, Amodu has had the longest stint as SE coach and he did not in anyway strengthen the team. Thats my grouse!

Westerhof brought in Finidi, Oliseh, and tried many home based players. Amodu told us Home based players were only good as training materials. Not one player was discovered by Amodu - very lazy coach.

Yusuf was best right back for Enyimba for three consecutive seasons and best in the league IMO but Amodu didn't invite him but the moment Yusuf started playing in Sudan (of all leagues), Amodu invited him to the team. I have given the Enyeama example too. A player who was best in the league but of which Amodu prefered to use a goalkeeper in Malta to take his place. I can name loads of examples if you are polite enough to ask me cheesy cheesy

The bottom line is Amodu was a lazy coach and a player agent who put his pocket ahead of the national team. There's nothing wrong in being a player agent if only his players were quality players. He didn't even have the eye to know a good player!

And then you don't want me to be excited about a coach who brought in at least 4 'new' players into his 30 man squad for the world cup in his first three months as coach? If he can do that, what stops him from bringing in more if given the chance beyond the world cup? He may as well prove me wrong but Im willing to stand by him for now.
I don't think LAZY is the right word to use here.
Amodu is a brainless manager. He has the energy to do things but his mental faculty cannot send messages to his senses to do the right thing.
So he appears LAZY but laziness is not the major problem. I am 110% certain Amodu's IQ cannot be more than 15.
The resources are there for him in abundance but his brain cells cannot process what to do to improve the Nigerian squad.

I prefer to fight honourably instead of play opponents like gods.

See N. Korea and Switzerland.

If we want to contain, then contain well, not be watching Messi like you want to learn one of his skills.
We shall see when the GOALS DIFFERENCE eliminates SOUTH KOREA. . . . . .

Sagamite, i also found this in your previous comments.
Honestly, you and Amodu have the same philosophy about FOOTBALL.

Sagamite:
If our strategy was to contain for 70mins, that means we had no intention of playing. The coach has already conceded that we can not play them then. Moreover, based on the numbers of times they sliced our defence and penetrated, then we failed miserable in our containment strategy.

I am pretty sure South Korea would not come into the game to contain. They would come and compete from the very first blow of the whistle.

Lest we forget, South Korean players (bar the Man U and Monaco one) are not anywhere close to Martins, Yak, Odems, Yobo, Taiwo, Odiah, Nsofor etc.
grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

Have you seen what happens when you don't contain a team like Argentina?
U get ripped apart with your soul sucked out of your body. 1-4 loss(it coulda been more had Argentina taken more of their chances).
Lagerback did an exemplary job keeping it down to 0-1. The GOALS DIFFERENCE might be the KEY after the 3rd group game.

South Koreans are aggressive, they can defend better. . . .Reh, reh reh.

I am sure you prefer this result to Lagerback's result against the same team, don't you?

Sagamite:
The judge would tell the bailiffs to throw you out of court.

You no see "If" and "play like Argentina of Today", not any Argentina.
Hahahahaha. . . . . . . . Had Korean beaten Argentina today, you would be branding yourself a MESSIAH.
The Argentine team that beat us 1-0 is the same as this one. The only difference is we could contain them comfortably limiting em to few chances while the Koreans couldn't contain them.

@ Sagamite,

I hereby produce ma EVIDENCE.
GUILTY or NOT GUILTY? grin

Sagamite:
With what I saw of the argies today, SK can beat then with their fast attack. So almost game over for us if we do not win the last 2 games if Greece become whipping boys.
Sagamite:
Thank you for being objective.

If Argentina play like that against South Korea, if they are not BEATEN, they will be pegged into their half as they were not great defensively. Our players were just not interested in going forward, they were happy to lose slightly.

Argentina was only strong upfront today especially messi and the others movement and closing down.

If we played more coordinated and with confidence like the last 20 mins if Odems and Uche had started. A DRAW WAS FEASIBLE and WE LOST THE CHANCE!
Sagamite:
I expected them to go out and fight to try and, at least, get a draw, even if they don't achieve it.

Not go on the pitch resigned to being raaped but that is OK as long as the d[i]ck is not be too big sha.

Then some people come here and claim it is an improvement and impressive performance.

South Korea will trash the Argentina of today.

We are talking about Korean Republic here. . . . . .
Their players hardly leave the shores of their country but they have better players than us.
They once played in a world cup semifinal in 2002 beating Italy. . . . .

The teams a bulk of our players play for, the Koreans would not enter first team.
Please show me where I said that. I am waiting.

That is why they are still playing in South Korea? How many of them would make EPL team starting lineup?
How many Nigerian players are in the EPL?
I can argue JS Park plays for Man Utd. Name one Nigerian Player against Argentina that plays in a big club - you are struggling.
Yobo has not improved since 2002 when he joined Everton. Odiah is a twunt. Taiye Taiwo will not get into any EPL club so what are we on about?

Sorry, what more joy?
Explain which attack you saw from Argentina that was like the barrage against us?
Keep counting the shots on target. . . . .
It's racking at the rate of 3 per minute.

The only thing the South Koreans have been weak at is coordinated attack going forward.
The same Korea you told us would beat Argentina some few days ago? Now their attack is not co-ordinated? grin grin

Beating?

Do you see their keeper working?

If I was to use your unobjective standards then I can easily say South Korea scored where we could not. Ignoring the fact that ALL goals in the match has been due to luck not some outclassed playing.

The South Koreans are battling, we were watching and got sliced only for our keeper to save us repeatedly.

Are Nigerian Defenders individually not better than the Koreans?
The Korean defenders are better individually and as a unit than the Nigerians.
Our players are no longer athletic like we used to have. All we have got are 4 robots who claim to be defenders. . . .NO AGILITY.

Argentina have had more joy against the Koreans than Nigeria.
Look at the possession stats and the number of times they have ripped the Korean defence apart. . . . .

U told us Argentina would be handed their arses on a plate by the Koreans but the truth is we have fared better than the Koreans.
Lagerback's tactics and pattern would have worked if our strikers were more clinical in front of goal.

Kalu's chance shoulda been buried.

If we had shown more urgency and aggressiveness, we coulda gotten a result against the argies
It's all about being clinical in front of goal. . . . .You cannot blame Lagerback for our striker's lack of composure in the penalty area.
Korea's one shot on target = GOAL!!!!  That is the DIFFERENCE.

Had Martins' shot sailed into the net, we woulda gotten a draw.
Had Kalu showed more composure with his volley, we woulda gotten a draw.

The fact remains Argentina have battered Korea for 45 mins(forget about the gift Dimechelis gave the Koreans).
It was completely against THE RUN OF PLAY.

@ Sagamite,

The same South Korea are taking the beatings of their LIFE as we speak and have been much worse than Nigeria against the same team.
Give kudos to the Argies - they are not in the level of any team in that group.
U cannot have Messi, Tevez, Higuain in the attack and expect mediocres like Yobo, Odiah and Taiye Taiwo to have a field day.

This was what Lagerback didn't want to see so he set his team out to contain the Argies and it worked. . . .
We should respect Maradona's team - they have more quality than any team in that group.

With FAGmodu, Nigeria woulda lost 0-5 in the opening game.

At this level, any player who cannot understand the logic behind using the ball well and retaining possession is NOT good enough.
What is so difficult in receiving a pass and playing it to the next available player?
