The first book in Igbo language (Isoama-Ibo: A Primer) was written by a Yoruba man, the first African Bishop, Samuel Ajayi Crowther (1809 — 1891) in 1857. The book had 17 pages, with the Igbo alphabets, words, phrases, sentence patterns, the Lord's Prayer, the Ten Commandments and translations of the first chapters of Matthew's Gospel.
In 1882, Crowther also wrote the "Vocabulary of the Ibo Language", the first comprehensive dictionary in Igbo.
Crowther, a descendant of King Abiodun, an Alaafin of the Oyo Empire, was the grandfather (through his second daughter, Abigail Crowther) of Herbert Olayinka Macaulay (1864 — 1946), founder of Nigeria's first political party, whose father, Thomas Babington Macaulay (1826 — 1878), founded the first secondary school in Nigeria in 1859. #HistoryVille

However in the cost-to-design model, the project owner/landlord is highly disadvantaged in that the designer/contractor may come up with fabulous design that may be far beyond you budget because there have been little or no consideration of the cost implication of the design at the initial stage. Do you mean Design-to-Cost? The problem with designing to budget is, you'll most likely end up with a design that wld not news your needs.. If you have a budget of 4m, you'll probably get a design of 2bedroom and you have a family of 4 kids already.... I'll advice that you get a comfortable design and build over a period... . You don't have to finish your design in 6 months.. Start early, maybe immediately you get you first job and build over some years by the time you are married with kids - your house wld be ready.. A comfortable 4 bedroom in minimum.. Start Now. Check my signature for more advice on building... |

rotecch77: So many things is missing in your calculation. Plastering, painting, burglary at 300 with workmanship, hmmmmm
* to do plastering alone just workmanship your 200-300k is gone. * now calculate cement, sand, *paint cost and labour. *burglary
Only tiles will cost you about 650-750. Against 500 qouted.
Now add * cement *sand * water * workmanship
Roofing 1m for aluminum roof and wood work. Recheck again.
Only wood work and workmanship will cost you about 350-400k
*Now calculate aluminum * installation
Aluminum casement window for 25k ? 1200*1200 size. Hmmmmm
We dey watch o
Just my 5cent ooo. The 300k is plastering only.. that's why it's in ( ). Thanks |

Let me give u a more detailed explanation at how I arrived at the 4-5m I gave u on my thread...
Considering the size and the standard.
Roofing = 1m plus using aluminum or almost using fibre Cement roofing sheet. Let's stick with 1m
Windows = at about 21-24k per window (casement) for 1200 by 1200 with other sizes being relative. Total Windows are about 18 nos with some bigger than 1.2by1.2 = abt 550k
Doors = let's use 25k per door, thou ur steel doors for external wld cost about 50-75k depending on choice and size, we have abt 15 doors that's about 400k
Total for doors and windows = abt 1m also (remember you'll need Cement, sand to fix all)
Tiles = just budget 500k if you want to tile all floors and toilet walls. Your choice can make it more or less.
Ceiling to rooms = asbestos cost 1.4k per sheet of 1.2by1.2. Your square area is approx = 250m2 this about 240k for materials only. Add workmanship, Trans etc I'll say 350k
Electrical and plumbing = visit an electrical shop and you'll appreciate Nigeria cable is gold... Just budget 750k for electrical and another 500k for plumbing
I HOPE WE'VE NOT EXCEEDED 5m?
Good, so far we're on 4m only... .
Think about this, Buglary, Painting, plastering (which can't be less than 300k materials inclusive for plastering only),
Need I type more? - Sorry I have to stop - A client just sent me a whatsapp message.
So in summary you can't really spend less than 5m
Good luck.

1. Start jogging every morning in areas where there are a lot of male joggers too, your future husband might be keeping fit.
2. If you drive, drop your ride occasionally and take a bus or taxi - and respond if the taxi driver is bold enough to ask you a few non-business related questions.
3. Smile back at every guy who smiles at you - it doesn't make you stupid, it shows you're friendly and welcoming.
4. Listen to dating programmes on radio and TV stations, or the good ones and pick up your phone to call-in occasionally.
5. Your colleague could be the solution; so why not humble yourself at your place of work?
6. Attend social gathering and pick the right ones to get you a husband material or you might end up with a player again; you obviously don't want that.
7. If you're active in your religious gathering, pay attention to that member who admires you and encourage him to ask that question - no too dey do holy holy.
8. Seek a change of environment, residence, work place, fellowship, gathering etc - Going to a new environment means you'll meet new people and you'll probably be that missing puzzle to someone.
9. Make use of the social media with caution - if you get this wrong, you might be worse for it - but yes, it works.
10. Go and beg your village people in-case they are the ones doing you - LOL but seriously be sure mend all bad past relationship especially where you were at fault.
11. Don't look down on a man who doesn't have the financial resources now but have financial intelligence and will power to succeed.
12. Visit your trusted friends who have responsible brothers more and be friendly to them. Make I add my own for the matter:1. Go to people dominated sections on online forums such like Nairaland and frequently make meaningful contribution, you never can tell someone who likes reading your post and comments can draw attention and be your future husband. 2. Type I'm looking for a serious husband on Nairaland and beg Lalasticlala to put it on FP - You cant excape that month before your Pre-Wedding pics makes FP. Culled: palmchatnow.com |

So I was just told, after being on my new job 2 weeks, that my hair was unacceptable and inappropriate. When I asked what's inappropriate about it and I was told that "whatever it is you have in your hair isn't natural". How should I handle this situation? I love my job, but I don't deal lightly with what I feel was just racial profiling. This is how my hair is styled right now, what's you guys opinion? What length should an employee go with style, especially when that is against normal trend of the society? Can you employ a male whose hair is styled as shown in the pics below or any thing near it? Share your thought. culled: palmchatnow.com
