Arewa community in Lagos State yesterday endorsed Governor Babatunde Fashola for a second term at a special rally in Kosofe, Lagos East District.

The members of the community, under the umbrella of the Arewa Political United Forum (APUF), presented its leader, Alhaji Mohammadu Dandamma Yabo, to the governor.

They said Alhaji Kabiru Ahmed was not the Arewa ACN leader.

Fashola stormed the Centre for Development (CMD) Playground in Shangisha around 1:45 pm.

He was accompanied by his running mate, Mrs Joke Orelope-Adefulire, Alhaji Gbenga Ashafa, Bosun Jeje, Dayo Alebiosu, and Jibayo Adeyeye.

The governor was received by Yabo, Alhaji Garuba Chede, Alhaji Shettima Yerima, Mrs Sidi Ali, Haruna Dabba and Ishak Sulaeiman.

Community spokesman Suleiman said: "Nine hundred and seventy thousand northerners registered in Lagos and we will deliver all the votes to ACN."

He hailed the governor for performing well in his first term.

Suleiman, however, said in return for the endorsement, the Arewa community demands slots in the cabinet, a new cemetery, protection from police brutality, and maltreatment of beggars, among others.

Dabba said: "We endorse you because of what you have been doing in this state. Your administration is masses-oriented.
‘’We feel the impact of security and social amenities in the state.

‘’There is peace, progress and stability. You are a model and other governors should emulate you."

Fashola thanked the group for living peacefully with other ethnic groups.

The governor them members to shun the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP).

Fashola canvassed support for candidates of ACN, saying they were the best in the state and country.

He urged them to vote and defend their votes.

The governor said: "Vote and let the votes be counted before you leave. Shun violence."

edos, Igarras and itsekiris being in the midwest is FINE- Just as Igbomina, Kabba bunu, Ilorin in the North central is.

In my own family I have Edos(Igarras who do have yoruba first names and last) and itsekiris who call themselves yoruba. as well as some who dont which is fine.

NOT ALL YORUBA SPEAKERS or dialects have the same origin.

If country were to split It would only make sense for their to be a Niger delta republic.- including edos and itsekiris.

I'm surprised this thread is even running. We had three empty men bashing PDP, making sky high promises without telling us how they will be acheived, reading from prepared notes for the simplest questions and wasting viewers time.

It was a very low grade affair that I had to force myself through in the vain hope that a nugget would drop at some point. None did.

Oyegun was as expected, mr average, feeling lucky to be on the podium and speaking like he was at a family meeting.
Bakare was a disgrace, his delivery was jumbled, shoddy and name-dropper style, he spoke with a false accent and a false lisp. Why in God's good name, would a healthy adult pretend to be disabled?
Adeola was the most sincere, but he was grossly unprepared and shambolic, he even had to read 100% of his answer on what he thought the job of VP was.

With all that reading, the questions were clearly sent ahead of time. Shame on the 3 aspirants. IMHO, the TV debates are a waste of everyones time.

The problem with Igbo entrepreneurs is their unwillingness to go to the stock market. They want to enjoy their money alone, answering Obi and Sons, Ibeto and Brothers, etc. ABC Transport is about the only difference. Even Coscharis is still dithering, not wanting to get listed. That way, they can never be known globally except specifically from their foreign partners. A yoruba will open a 100,000 worth company and run to the stock, making them known throughout Nigeria even though the company is as unviable as the word unviable. Thus, it is possible that Ibeto is richer than Dangote (we have to put all the facts down to arrive at a conclusion, though). But that remains unofficial until his companies become public like Dangotes? BTW, we all know that Dangote is a front for ex military men.

this makes no sense all the people i named are known in Africa and beyond and are the founders chairmans of companies who are viable enough to have made it on CNN and BBC for running successful cmpanies.

Hes got the structures and funding and campaigning better than anyone else.
Elections are not won by credibility alone, popularity is more important.
