Hello sir, as regards missionaries, i understand each group/region handles or adopts a nation and sponsorship and choice of who goes there as missionaries is made by the leaders in those groups.

In fact this model helps those who are starting out, when John Wesley sent out Adam Clarke and some others as circuit riders, he gave them nothing then or afterwards. Many circuit riders died young. For them (and missionaries today), I believe it was their calling and commitment to live as such. In fact Adam Clarke volunteered himself (just as no one is forced to become a missionary in DL)

I am sure the person you quoted has prescribed same to people in similar circumstances and they have found solution therein. Why are you getting worked up? If op had gone to Romance section and that counsel was given, perhaps your ire will be understood. As it stands, you are the odd one here.

But Jesus called them the, 'Church in Laodicea'! What do you understand as Church?
When people pray that way, their desire is for a manifestation of His Presence as they gather.

I have come to notice that in ''some churches'' when praying at the begining of the service we would be asked to invite the holy spirit into our midst.
This is very wrong and should be corrected, because the holy spirit dwells in us and should be welcomed not invited. I stand to be corrected.

Well remember that the Spirit is come in Christ's Name (and for all this is worth). Remember also that Jesus said to the Church in Laodicea:

“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in,Revelation 3:20a.

Hence inviting Him to take over the service that He alone might be exalted is not wrong.

Well, where the constitution contradicts the Bible, the latter shall supersede. This much I believe and there is enough ground for this in Scripture.

Òkay, as Christians, the Bible supersedes any other law. That's why we dont divorce even though the law and courts allow it.
