pazienza: Geographically, yes. Economically No. Last is a national meal that was cooked by all Nigerians and can't be claimed by Yorubas. Yes it can be claimed by Yorubas. With all the packages it comes with. It was a city founded by them Yorubas. Today they are still the greatest single stake holding group in the state. It is culturally within their sphere of influence, Etc. Nigerians can lay claim to Lagos Island and Eti Osa LGA's due to their one time stats as FG properties, but not Lagos state, pls have that in your mind. Yes, there are other Nigerians living there but so what...... Kaduna is very multicultural as well with all Northern ethnic groups, Igbos, Yorubas, Etc living in it. This issue is a dead horse, dust and settled, you better stop wasting your time trying to wake it. |

Rotimi47: What a funny statement! Oduduwa was never a Edo person but he rather sent his youngest son to rule the Edos.
Check out this analysis bellow:-
South West revenue without kwara state which is classified as North - 333.4b
South East - 61.1b
South South. - 180.2b
Now let add South East & South South with all the crude oil that our oiyel people are always making noise about
241.3b that is it is still short of 92.1b after comparing SE+SS - 10 states to SW - 6 states.
Please do the maths. SS+ SE is 11 states not 10. Still dem neva reach. |

pazienza: And funny enough, Edo IGR is 4 Times that of Ekiti the Yoruba state with the highest number of phantom professors! And only Ogun in SW bettered Edo.
This is a proof of the fact that Edo is higher than Yorubas. Indeed this shows that Oduduwa the progenitor of Yoruba race was actually an Edo man, and that Oba was indeed an Edo man.
Edo has historically been ahead of SW, now see why the rejected being under Yoruba subjugation in Western region, but instead sought for and fought for the establishment of the Midwest region. Edo dusts Anambra and Imo, the heartland of the East.... LMAO. You should bury your head in shame right now, instead of writing up some estrogen fanned emotional outburst like a woman on period. janellemonae: Hope u know lagos is when u get to cms idumota area. As in eko. Dts where lagos is. When nxt ur driving, check d signboard on d bridges, ull see an arrow showing ur driving into lagos. The whole mainland of lagos state is not eko. Hope u know those days, there were no bridges and u got to d island by canoe. Ikorodu is an egba town. Epe is a town, isolo is a town, idimu is a town. Every area u find an oba in lagos was a village wt a king. Igbobi was a kolanut farm, alausa was a walnut farm. Dt whole area is egba territory. On d other side is ijebu territory.
The island itself was where d binis created a war camp. And its only d area served by d oba of lagos around idu gangan (or whatever his palace is called. And dt throne reverted bk to d indigenes when d white men advised them to stop paying tributes to d oba of bini). The population of lagos (d island) was just about 27,000 pple when d portuguese came. And there were other little villages there as well like d iru and elegushi. The british went on a land grabbing spree and then made d oba of lagos d head of all d obas on d island.
And d oyo empire were fighting wars wt d egbas, ijaiyes, ekitis because of d slave trade. Merchants like efunroye tinubu took advantage & stole captives to d island to sell as slaves. Dt whole market in cms area developed out of d brutal slavetrade in d west. Even d whites named a square after her (wicked woman).
In the old western region, d whole mainland of lagos was part of western region and ruled from ibadan. The federal govt was d island only. FACT.
If lagos is not yorubaland, name an area dt doesnt have a yoruba name? Lagos developed due to d slave trade & seaways. The british moved d capital there and started developing it as a capital (it wasnt wt oil money btw). 90% of lagos was yorubas only. After d british left d govt kept developing it. More pple moved in from all over nigeria because of d secretariats & govt jobs. All nigerians live in lagos & contribute to its wealth. But we have lagos indigenes, we have lagos culture and lagos traditions. It is not a no mans land created from nothing. Dts an insult to pples forefathers. My brother, please do not tae this much effort to try and educate a Igbo from the South East, please. Maybe you are not familiar with their true nature, but they are not worth your time and effort. |

somegirl1: Actually, there isn't a functional international port in the SS. You may need to reread my previous post especially the second sentence. I believe you are smart enough to comprehend my point, you just read it in a hurry. Just take your time this time. Regarding including SS, it is only common sense to assume that the SE would find a port in the SS more convenient for their freighting needs than one in the SW or further afield. Eve Ondo or Delta would benefit from the presence of a spanking new international seaport, and they are not in SE. So stop making it sound as if, only one group of people have the brains to use a port...Lmao As a matter of Fact, Western Nigeria officially has 2 International seaports in Lagos (Tin Can and Apapa) And unofficially has one international seaport in Benin (Cotonou). That cotonou port belongs to Nigeria Abeg.... With a spanking new deepwater seaport being planned in Lekki (to be one of the biggest ton the continent) So you better realize that the SW is here to stay. |

I think we need to change our mentally from regional competition to international competition. How can we make Ogun compete with Kenya's tech hub?
SW governors should be competing with Ambode. SW states, collectively, should be competing with growing African countries.
At this point, it's an insult to be comparing the SW with SE, when the SE is dragging medal with the North. LOL! true talk. |
