Population explosion!!! We may soon overtake China as the most populated country in the world. You see rate at which young girls are manufacturing babies is really alarming. We need population control in our country because of food and other plans.

Girls and parents, save us from teenagers pregnancy!!! Just saying the truth.

Good! but we need more of the layouts that are functional, I hope that the inputs at ABSU goes beyond this... http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/2015/09/gov-ikpeazu-installs-absu-visitor-rewards-students/... as Universities need huge investments( I agree that may be challenging this period of downturn)
All the same I can say confidently that none of the South East governors bar Obiano is spectacular... All of them are bang average!! doing the basics, just borrow to pay salaries build roads with the remaining part of the loan nothing much else.... not much initiative !!!
i think this may help out. http://www.abiastate.gov.ng/news/the-outcomes-of-gov-okezie-ikpeazus-sucessful-invetment-mission-to-the-united-states/

It's good that our governors are doing well but does it end there? What we hear is building road bla bla!... for the ones I know, in no particular order;
1. Ugwuanyi is building roads in Nsukka and sub urbs of Enugu like the Orie Emene to Adoration road and the Nowas to T-jumction, and also paying salaries, but I've not seen moves by the state government to diversify the economy through massive investment drives and robust ventures into agriculture.
2. Obiano is doing the right things expected of him especially after a solid foundation laid by his predecessor. It is heartwarming that their combined efforts is improving the investment fortunes of the state. Let him continue!
3. Umahi has the passion and the drive to lift Ebonyi out of poverty but let it not end at building roads and paying salaries. For ebonyi to move forward, some out of the box initiatives in Agriculture, Mining and Human capital development are needed.
4. Ikpeazu is working! what I hear is road, road, road in Aba(Yes! Aba needs roads); with no other sustainable initiative to lift the whole state. I'm yet to hear about structural actions taken towards improving eqiutably the health care system, Making the Educational system better(like his other colleagues in Enugu and Ebonyi) and an impactful set of drives towards improving the economic lot of Abia artisans!...Roads don't impress real men any longer! It is basic and the easiest way out.
5. Rochas has being a colossal failure since mid 2013 when he started showing his true colours. He doesn't have a coherent development agenda and any implementation is harphazard! Roads are largely substandard and his initiatives are laced with deceit and propaganda! What we need in IMO is an immediate change but for the sake of clearing his own mess, he should stay there for now! Worst in the south east by all standards!
i can only speak on abia state. Ikpeazu have made some strives in wooing investors into abia state. There is this proposed industrial layouts by the spanish investors for production footwares and other accessories (we can call on Ponponkon to elaborate on that). He have made many input into the abia state university and is trying to revive the some water pumping stations across the state. But i think i am not satisfied with his agricultural moves and developments. He has done nothing worthy of noting in this area. Abia has a very vast cocoa producing area, the okigwe/isuikwuato cashew plantations a left in reigns. There is no clear agricultural policy or investment yet.

The entire league itself needs to be COMPLETELY privatised to make it grow like that of South Africa, England etc so it PAYS government TAXES and creates direct and indirect EMPLOYMENT for thousands if not millions of our youths who are trekking across the Sahara desert and floating on the Mediterranean Sea to enter Europe to become voluntary SLAVES who are UNDER-employed. embarassed
@bold well it is not funny but i couldn't stop laughing.

your hatred for Rochas of Nigeria won't make you see dt d guy mentioned so many projects he s executing n no media funfare unlike others who want unnecessary attention. Hate Rochas for being APC all u want, it won't stop us Nigerians from voting him the next president after PMB. we love him and there s nothing any hate filled IPOB can do about it.
hahaha, I don't hate him and saying that i love his party will be an obvious lie. But that wouldn't stop me from saying the truth anytime i see one. You may choose to vote for him, (ie if he can even win a primary) that is you right as a citizen of nigeria.

Trust me none of them comes close to Okorocha. He just does not flag off or commission but I have personally gone round the States. For example two stadia is almost completed in Orlu and Okigwe but not open to media. No other State has done such in their 2nd tier cities. The bridges, dual carriageways, schools and hospitals are numerous but yet under reported.
well am comparing them with their first eight months in office, the truth be told rochas takes the last bench. Someone like umahi built two flyovers within this period and many roads unlike rochas that came patching roads he built in his first tenure

MagicBishop:
I don't understand you.

Pls elaborate
sorry for the typo, i am using auto spell.

russia as we all know has been in cold war with the west, and oil & gas supply have been their major leverage against the west. Joining opec will mean expanding this leverage to west. Considering the west influence on some member states like saudi arabia, there will be a great fault line within the opec that will not be of any desirable effect especially now.
PoliticsRe: Oil Price Fall Below $30 Per Barrel Nigeria Summons Emergency OPEC Meeting by Scholes007(m): 1:11am On Jan 29, 2016
MagicBishop:
Even if the Russians want in on OPEC ( which they don't want to) do you think Saudi Arabia will be comfortable to relinquish their high status to Russia?

Never gonna happen.
that why i said it wouldn't be good on opec. It will likely expose opec to serious vulnerablity on the longrun.
PoliticsRe: Oil Price Fall Below $30 Per Barrel Nigeria Summons Emergency OPEC Meeting by Scholes007(m): 1:02am On Jan 29, 2016
jpphilips:
Kachikwu is just a step closer to price stability, OPEC has less than 40% supply, the meeting should focus on encouraging members to invite more Ally producers into OPEC (countries like Russia and Mexico should be given priority due to their significant production), once OPEC controls about 60% of world oil output, production cut will not affect market shares significantly.
thats a very valid point but wooing russia into opec especially now is not feasible. Why? Because western countries may view it as a threat and that wouldn't be a good thing.

It is about time people start looking into household utility factory like detergent, soap and cosmetics in south east.
PoliticsRe: Anambra industrial revolution pics by Scholes007(m):
joborskill:
All these pictures shows the southeast is still far behind and they celebrate mediocrity cheesy We have so many industries in Lagos, Ogun, Oyo and Ondo states but dont have to brag about it. our IGR alone shows what an economic giant we are. This your pics are snapped at the urban areas of anambra whereas industrialization and development is present in all part of Yoruba land wether urban or rural. Proudly Oduduwa cool
i have seen so many of your kind ask questions like which company are in south east? And someone is showing you/those folks the few he know of in anambra and you are blowing fuse. There are so many other companies in other states in south east.

states like abia and enugu have a very significant number of industrial layouts also. They are so many factory formerly based in sw west that are now siting/have site factories that are even bigger in South east example the first aluminium can factory in west africa was first constructed in agbara ogun state by gz with capacity of 600 cans per annum and after a larger can factory was constructed by the same gz in aba with capacity of 1.2 billion cans per annum. Similarly, the steel fabrication firm hongxing steel nigeria limited first built their plant in lagos before building a much larger one in aba abia state. I can go on and on even in the brewery industries/pharmacitical industries. What most of you don't know is that it is more viable to site industries in SE/SS than south west oweing to its proximity to a very large untapped market cluster. The eastern nigeria clust as i always call it has a very great potential, look at how cities like port harcourt, aba, onitcha, uyo, calabar, enugu, owerri, umuahia, abakaliki, asaba and many more clustered in an area.It is just a matter of time before most investors realize that the can't compete with the rivals in south east with their investment in lagos. You may start your usuall retorics of "there is no head quarters in south east" well i am bold to tell you that most industries have their head quarter in lagos but with their major manufacturing company outside it. Take a look @ nigerian brewerys, their head office is in lagos but they have their largest factory in enugu. Same thing with pepsi with largest factory in aba

PoliticsRe: The Need For The Capital Of Delta To Be Moved To Warri From Asaba. by Scholes007(m): 8:53pm On Jan 27, 2016
TonyeBarcanista:
It is only in Delta state that it's capital city is less viable, less popular, less active and no historic backing like other towns/cities other than to satisfy the wish of a woman(Maryam). Before independence, Warri was the capital of Delta province. Warri is the city that represents present day Delta state just as PH is to Rivers and Ibadan is to Oyo state. Warri deserves to be the seat of power! Even Israel had to move to their capital to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv.

That said, for the sake of collective peace and unity, the capital should remain in Asaba. The deed has already been done. Beside, Asaba could have been chosen because as at then the 3 inhabitants of Warri were after their own heads due to disagreement.
what can you say about abia and anambra

PoliticsRe: The Elders Of Iboland Need To Come Together And Stop This Nonsense by Scholes007(m): 8:41am On Jan 25, 2016
MayorofLagos:
I read news almost daily now of youths getting shot and killed in East. This is not a happy moment at all and no one who cherishes life will sit by and watch children killed like this. This is getting out of hand.

The elders of Iboland need to converge at home...in Iboland...not in Lagos and not in Abuja, but in the heartland of Igbo and come up with a way forward. If their desire is for independence then they should rally a pr message that outlines in their favor a palatable argument for independence. If their desire is to remain in Nigeria then they should hold rally in each state of Igboland and address their people on the way forward.

Dont leave these children alone to their fate to be wasted by bullets, the elders ought to shield them from the risks.

Yoruba say....Agba kin wa l'oja k'ori omo tuntun wo!
There is no English equivalent for this adage but in effect it is a admonish calling the elder to protect the interest of its future.

****

i just find it irritating that the soldiers are killing people over there everyday and looks like they are taking liberty in the elders silence to escalate the killing. Shyyte! angry
do you think our elders will be that foolish? Besides people like you will be the same set to start ranting about their meeting and its uselessness. So friend don't worry yourself, find other things to say as we all know you guys like talking but at least channel it to the betterment of your people not igbos that do not concern you
