X-Factoria has said it all, hes truely an insider. I happen to be one of the 85 Chartered Accountants(not 150, as 65 rejected the offer for various reasons) employed 4 months back.

The promotion list he talked about came out today, but staff members are still not happy as the list according to them does not represent the appraisal done to its effect.

UBN is a Bank trying to undergo rapid changes and when these things happen, issues must arise, so let the music play.

I'm also not having the best of times for various reasons;

1.I don't seem to be welcomed absolutely, they call me "funke's son" in some quarters cos we were employed by her.

2.I'm surrounded by very embittered staff members who are just working because there's no other place to go.

3. The fact that some Staff members have not been promoted in the last five to seven years sends shivers down my spine.

4. Four different salaries in the last 4 months makes it look like voo-doo banking.

5. Old staff members attitude to customers should not be discussed on Nairaland cos it makes me cry.

Now, coming from a new generation Bank(H2O Bank), I sometimes feel the decision to join was a bad move but C-H-A-N-G-E is the watch word.

First Bank was also like this some years back, but they opened their eyes to the new Banking trend sometime in 2005/2006 and I think they are not doing badly.

It ok for you guys to say the Bank is old(e old b4 now, ur papa no tell u?), it does not have style, its services are poor, its bankers wear long coats, bla bla bullsh**t!, the changes are taking place right now and if u know whats up, u will agree with me that changing such a "Methuselah" Bank wont take just 3 mins/days/weeks!

@niyi09, if this is what u paid, then OAU is not even among the top three cheapest schools.

But then, it all boils down to the periods we are talkin about.

I studied Accountancy in UNN( between 2001-2005), i paid #4205, #1805,#1205 and #11500 respectively for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and final year, not up tp 20k in total.

I think Unibadan is the cheapest, my cousin paid #800 when i paid #1805.

Pray for your cousin, but he or she should start getting ready for the worst(save plenty dow from now on),

so if shit happens, there would be cushion to fall back on.

I Worked with one of the "shaky shaky Banks", I earned 250k monthly and though I applied for this past PTDF Scholarship,

I did not take it seriously cos I was more concerned about my job and "sure salary", but alas! PTDF i no pass, still lost the Bank job.

A friend worked his way to Bayelsa cos of oil last year but managed to escape the Gbaramatu crisis, he saw life rockets from Air force Helicopters.

Just a word!

you guys should have added essay writing or some other theory questions (as in the past years),

the exam was just too porous, with people using their hand sets to browse for answers in the exam hall.

i wish they will cancel it and set theory questions!!!

Let me tell you guys what one guy did in my centre, I almost cried! THAT GUY SMART SHA!!!

His friend did not come for the exams, so he entered the hall first, logged in with his friend's pin code,
took his time and copied all the questions, part A and part B( they applied for the same course, computing Engineering),

submitted for the guy and then went out.

He came back after 1 hour and logged in with his own pin.

u guys can guess the rest!
