Funny how some comments here are just emotional. Majority of the countries on this list is not up to Kano,Lagos and Anambra together in population. Imagine comparing the unemployment rates of countries less than 20 million population with a developing country of over 240 million people. |

DMerciful: Instead of you to blame INEC for rigging the 2023 election to favour Tinubu, you're here talking nonsense.
Why do you think even with Atiku, Peter Obi,Kwankwaso, Wike in PDP in 2019 couldn't defeat Bubu that failed woefully first term? It is because INEC rigged the 2019 elections.
If you say they split their votes when they went their separate ways, how come APC got 15 million votes in 2019 and 8million votes in 2023? Who split APC votes? If Atiku or Obi had gotten 10 million votes, APC would have gotten 11million. Thats how terrible INEC is but the court will correct this nonsense In 2019 there were just 2 serious contenders but in 2023 we have 4. Also look at the 2019 results from states, you will see how figures were allocated by 2 parties in their strongholds. e:g Delta, Anambra, Kano, Kaduna and co returning millions of votes per state, but in 2023 the BVAS machine change the story because the total accreditation must correspond with the total votes. Both APC, PDP and LP manipulate the 2023 elections one way or the order in their stronghold and the party with largest spread nationwide got the highest number of votes. I am not trying to convince you or change your narrative on the election but stop making it look like LP didn’t do some manipulations also. |

ojobek: The case will still come up at the tribunal. And the judgement of the Supreme Court will be the precedent that the Tribunal will follow because it’s a lower court and can’t overturn the Supreme Court’s ruling. |
Politics › Re: The Layman Understanding Of Today's Supreme Court Judgment by seanfer(m): 7:48am On May 27, 2023 |
DMerciful: LP has locus because they instituted it after election making it a post election matter. It is one of the grounds to disqualify a winner in the presidential election petition This is the precedent on that particular prayer at the election petition tribunal. Also as at the time of the election Shettima was contesting for as VP candidate alone and not as a senatorial candidate. Case close.

Omowale2023: Then you didn't understand it.
What he said is the supreme court doesn't have the jurisdiction to entertain the case, it can only be entertained in the tribunal, and after the elections, a political party different from the main party can now talk about it. From Non-Qualification to Disqualification. Please read the post again The Supreme Court also said that Shettima resigned his senatorial nomination on 6th July. Also he did not go to the polls as a candidate for 2 elections. |

maestroferddi: You are only being disingenuous here else you know that that is a obvious ruse to dodge responsibility...
It was a silly remark to trumpet using of fines to intimidate those who are seeking justice... When lawyers chose to waste the time of the court there should be consequences for such actions. Imagine a case before appeal court and a lawyer is filing same case in the high court. Are you saying the lawyer did not know the right thing to do? |

Ojim07: Very True. Was surprised to see states like abia and Anambra turning over a million vote in 2011.
Such figure, didn't really make me put much attention on 2011.
I'm Particularly concern about 2019& 2023. Despite the agitation for a new Nigeria, the 2023 total votes couldn't still major up to 2019.
Could it still be as result of technology or Nigerians just didn't turn out as expected Due to the introduction of technology. Remember that in 2019 we can hardly know the numbers of accredited voters, but in 2023 we can know by checking BVAS. This alone reduce rigging coming from some parts of the country. Imagine Rivers and delta dishing out almost 2 million votes each for PDP in the past. And last election nothing like that. |
Politics › Re: Judiciary Will Set Nigeria Ablaze: Lawyer Fumes At Judges Absence From Suit. by seanfer(m): 8:09pm On May 26, 2023 |
maestroferddi: Silly gratuitous remark...
The attempts to bastardize the judiciary will ultimately fail...
The use of punitive fines to emasculate the course of justice will boomerang on its authors... What’s silly about my comment? Even the lawyer said it himself that the judge was attending a conference, what if the conference is still on till today or there is another important assignment for the judge? Our problem is that we don’t want to give people benefit of doubt, we always claim victims. |

The judge is obligated to give a ruling that is the point that you are not getting... I never said the Judge won’t give a ruling. But I am just telling you how the matter will end. We said the same thing about the PDP case at the Supreme Court and it was the same outcome. |

EmmaJnr1: are u a lawyer...why would the judges not come to court and say it themselves....funny country. The judges know that Tinubu is not supposed to be president So if a Judge have something more important to attend to he should not go because of the civil cases on his table? I hope you will be here when fines will land on the lawyer. |
Politics › Re: Judiciary Will Set Nigeria Ablaze: Lawyer Fumes At Judges Absence From Suit. by seanfer(m): 7:35pm On May 26, 2023 |
maestroferddi: Oga are you just guessing or what?
Which law stipulates that a case before a judge be dismissed just because it is at a tribunal?
A judge is functus officio on giving a ruling.... The federal high court is a lower court to the presidential election tribunal and that’s the reason why I said the court lack jurisdiction to hear the case. Except the judge want to go rogue. |

YouandiAllofus: Now that the muslims have had their turn for 10yrs with likely 8yrs in sight and another possible 8yrs in stock. That's 24yrs as compared to 14 years of the christian's reign since 1999. And i ask again, with this, can we say we have achieved justice, equity and fairness in 2039? Why are you running faster than your shadow. Why are you adding 2039 that you don’t know what will happen then. |
Politics › Re: Judiciary Will Set Nigeria Ablaze: Lawyer Fumes At Judges Absence From Suit. by seanfer(m): 7:10pm On May 26, 2023 |
maestroferddi: What trash are you talking about?
A judge is obligated to make a ruling on every case brought before him...
His ruling can be set aside by a superior or higher court...
The only technicality he can bring into play is to adjourn the case sine die but he has no right to volitionally refuse a ruling... The only ruling coming from this case is to dismiss it because the case is also among the prayers the petitioners have with tribunal. And the high court is not superior to the tribunal. |

This lawyer is letting his emotions and the money he will make to becloud his reasoning. No high court judge will rule on a matter already in front of the Tribunal. Blackmailing the judge in the press will not change the outcome of the case. |

If you look at those going to court with all this frivolous cases, they’re people who’ve stole government money. Imagine me and you now going to court to start a case like this and we pursue it to the supreme court. It will cost nothing less than 50-70 million Naira just gone down the drain. |

YouandiAllofus: This is not about governorship but presidency. After Obj's tenor of 8yrs, UMY of blessed memories took on the mantle as a muslim. Although his tenor was cut shot unfortunately, there is no correlation in your assertion Since 1999 till date Christians have been president for 14 years and Muslims just 10 years. What are you saying |
Politics › Re: The Bitter Truth About Nigeria Politics And It's Dynamic. by seanfer(m): 5:43pm On May 26, 2023 |
YouandiAllofus: The last christian to lead the country was GEJ for 6yrs if you may. Then a muslim in PMB came for 8yrs. We now have another muslim in BAT which may likely take 8yrs as well. After his administration, power is supposely transfered to the north where a muslim may likely emerge for yet again 8yrs. Looking at this senerio, by the year 2039 when the muslim tenor is due to elapse, one would see that in the last 30yrs which is from 2009- 2039, while there has only being a christian president for 6yrs, muslims would have had the presidency for 24yrs. Can we say we have achieved justice, equity and fairness?! Is OBJ not a Christian? You guys are funny. Are there no Muslims in the SE/SS that their Governors and Deputies have been Christian’s only? Or the indigenous Muslims in those regions are not meant to be in power. Charity begins at home |

It means that they are not savvy enough to handle matters like this. No lawyer will tell you that your case is bad. They’re out to make money all they will tell you is that you have 50/50 chance. More like gambling. |
