Ofunaofu: Section 60
And INEC guidelines INEC guidelines can't supersede the electoral act and the constitution below is the section 60 you mentioned and no where it says electronically transmitted.... in law you can't do anything outside the Act and constitution. [/b]Section 60.—(1) The Presiding officer shall, after counting the votes at the polling unit, enter the votes scored by each candidate in a form to be prescribed by the Commission as the case may be. (2) The form shall be signed and stamped by the presiding officer and counter signed by the candidates or their polling agents where available at the polling unit. (3) The presiding officer shall give to the polling agents and the police officer where available a copy each of the completed forms after it has been duly signed as provided under subsection (2). (4) The presiding officer shall count and announce the result at the polling unit. (5) The presiding officer shall transfer the results including total number of accredited voters and the results of the ballot in a manner as prescribed by the Commission. (6) A presiding officer who wilfully contravenes any provision of this section commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a fine not more than N500,000 or imprisonment for a term of at least six months.[/b] |

Ofunaofu: These are beer parlour analysis, we are yet to get the CTC of the judgement
Are you aware of what is called emerging new facts
INEC is bound by the Electoral law and it's election guidelines to transmit results electronically. The INEC chairman made that point clear severally at different foras that the results of the 2023 general election, i.e polling units results will be transmitted electronically to the IREV real time on the election day Boss what you call emerging facts must be back by law. Is there any law that says INEC must upload results immediately on the server? Even if the INEC chairman said so it is not in the electoral act or constitution so it’s not going to fly at the tribunal. This judgement will be a precedent and it will be mentioned in the presidential election tribunal. |

PoliticalUpdate: Ikpeazu SAN has played a fast one on APC. I expected him to make a smart move based on the lessons from OSUN SC verdict. APC shouldn't take this lightly, they have been outmaneuvered. The guy knows that based on the antecedent of the case yesterday, Obi may be won on technicalities - this adjournment is to restrategize based on INEC's game plan in OSUN STATE. Please calm down and read what you wrote and see if it makes sense..... How can a petitioner be begging the court that he is not ready to start a case he brought to court? and you are calling that been smart... I hope you know there is limited number of time each party can ask for adjournment? |

Falana said it on channels that lawyers are the ones giving wrong information to the public.... |

Krublog: I shake my head at this analogy of yours.
There's no need for any of them being in that party now. Since they cannot win elections for the party but can win for themselves.
I see why our politicians are using us.
Some of us are very very "smart" So you want a party to sponsor a candidate that can't win is state not to talk of their region.. They should start building bridges the result won't come immediately... |

Krublog: The Igbos supported the PDP with huge votes from 1999-2015 when the lost power at the center. Gave it massive votes in 2019.
What did they get in 2023 PDP gave their ticket to the North.
Will you say there are no loyal APC members in the entire south east worthy of honour?
Whatever happened to Dave Umahi?
My point is, there's massive igbophobia in our political space and it is not good for the unity of the country.
Reward the steadfast loyalyist from the region and watch others crumble like cookies.
Okorocha did more than them OUK and Umahi are doing right now for the APC.
Politically speaking, where is he today Politics has nothing to do with emotions.. Those you mentioned cannot win their region in any election because majority of people see APC as party of the SW and core north. Political parties sponsored candidates that can win election. What will you say about OUK that won his senatorial election with over 40,000 votes and the presidential candidate of the same party scored less than 10,000 in the state, election was held the same day.. They should learn how to make alliance with other regions and stop calling others names just because they have different opinions.. |

Some of us are just after the right things being done. We got no stake personally or politically in the matter. I never said you are Igbo. But before we accuse others of treating us bad we should also know that for all ACTIONS there will always be REACTIONS.. The SE should learn how to play inclusive politics, let's look at the other regions how they vote during elections, they don't put all their eggs inside one basket. in 2015,,2019 and 2023 the SE gave the apc less than 15% votes and now that the party they support didn't win they want to resort to blackmail.. NC gave APC 3rd highest votes and as at now no position have been allocated to them and they're not everywhere like the SE that get Deputy Speaker. |

Krublog: The issue of fairness and equity should not be joined in this discussion.
Equity has now become a convenient word for APC.
Where was equity in choosing a southern president?
Why for the sake of fairness was it not given to a region in the south that had never gotten it?
1999-2007 Olusegun Obasanjo (Ogun - Southwest)
2010-2015 Goodluck Jonathan (Bayelsa - South South)
Even VPs
2007-2010 Goodluck Jonathan (Bayelsa- South South)
2015-present Yemi Osibanjo (Ogun- Southwest)
Going by the above, if fairness, equity and justice were the watchword of the APC, I think the southeast would have been given the chance of producing the next president of Nigeria so let's stop this "sanctimoniousness".
Everyone should be allowed to aspire and the best candidate, win.
NB Before you draw the "Igbo" card out, I'm not Igbo and not from any sub Igbo group. I just hate injustice. Where were you guys when OUK from SE supported Lawan from NE and he said it on channels tv that if APC will not micro zone it to SE then the north should have it... Now same OUK is crying now and want to reap where he didn't sow. |

ACN has just 56 members in the house and Tambuwal won the seat with over 250 votes... Maybe you don't know that some PDP members from the SW didn't support the yoruba woman imposed on them.. As for we OBIDIENTS, no iota of apology will be given. May any apology from my mouth meet a fatal accident before it gets to any ear
Apology ke. Soyinka you are really messing up. I understand old age is impacting you already. We respected you but you messed up big time. How can an erudite professor go to discuss Datti Ahmed statement without saying anything about Tinubu Drug case? Is he happy to have a drug lord as president? Noooo nah.
Soyinka learn to behave well if you must earn my respect. So to you an Old man of 61 went to apologize and intentionally held that information from his supporters is worth calling a humble and good man.
