Theblessed: Wish Beyonce' INDEPENDENT WOMAN could hammer into the chicken brains of our housewifery sister for life. No intelligent, ambitious, confident woman with high self esteem and knowing exactly where she's going and where she wants to be in this day in age, would want to sit around at home prepare cookies, eat babies leftovers and tidy up afterwards, no! There's nothing wrong in being married and having a career or even work part-time. It gives you a sense of SELF/RESPECT. Even men themselves would tell you, they don't like DEPENDENT women as they want their women to have a life and the fact that, you are contributing into the family money pot would accord you greater respect from both your husband, the inlaws and your social circle.
Am I harsh on these ladies? Absolutely! Someone on here said it's 'Choice', and I am saying no - it's has alot to do with self esteem, laziness, lack of ambition, the values they were brought up with, their social circle etc - otherwise why would an intelligent and educated woman end up in the home as a domestic slave even if her husband is BILL GATES. In fact, Bill Gates wife is a very busy woman - doing something all the time e.g. her/her husband's charity work - check her schedule!!
I'm only sorry for the men that hooked up with these layabouts but then, men don't realise the quality of women they ended up with until after the honey moon and first baby by then, skool don dismiss. Personally, in this situation I can only forgive those of them who could not read or write (the illitrates) but many of them are quite industrious - striving to set up small businesses of their own thus showing not only ambition but dignity however, their educated counterparts hide behind motherhood - an excuse for dependency mentality. Sorry for their husbands, though. A little harsh but its the truth. |

gen2genius: Frankly, even if I became the richest man in the world, my wife would still use her degree to have a meaningful contribution to the society. What's all the fuss about a woman staying at home for the rest of her life, burying her talents, certificates etc because she wants to have a happy home? Sonya Carson (mother of Ben and Curtis Carson) was a single mother who worked tirelessly to feed and educate her children. Yet she still had ample time to bring them up to become responsible men. There are several other women like that. You don't have to stay at home all-day long to have good children. You can have a successful career and a successful marriage. It's a matter of being resourceful and being able to set your priorities right.
Which of the men advocating "full-time housewife" role would be happy to send their daughters to school up to Masters level only for her to bury everything in the name of marriage and family life? Can any of these men agree to be full-time househusbands? Was a woman created JUST to bear and rear children, cook and clean a house? If yes, why didn't God just give them mothering abilities without any other skills? Why are women created with the same mental abilities as men? And why do we even have to send our girls to general schools? I mean we could just create a School of Mothering and Family Life and send all our girls there instead of spending so much money to train them to study a course like Mass Communication only to end up communicating nothing except lullabies and kitchen songs!
A woman could stay at home with her kids in their formative years, but anything after that, count me out!!! Exactly. Am I putting all my hard energy into doing homeworks and late night studying just to end up staying home and taking care of the family/house?? HECK NO!! I have/want to put my knowledge to work and not just clean, cook or cater to the family needs.I can work and have time to take care of the household. |

Christianity Etc › Crumbs Under The Table: Explain This Verse Please! by SeanT21(op): 5:34am On Jun 22, 2009 |
21 Jesus left that place and went away to the district of Tyre and Sidon. 22 Just then a Canaanite woman from that region came out and started shouting, “Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David; my daughter is tormented by a demon.” 23 But he did not answer her at all. And his disciples came and urged him, saying, “Send her away, for she keeps shouting after us.” 24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” 25 But she came and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, help me.” 26 He answered, “It is not fair to take the children’s food and throw it to the dogs.” 27 She said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table.” 28 Then Jesus answered her, “Woman, great is your faith! Let it be done for you as you wish.” And her daughter was healed instantly. |

He pushed her to the side and jumped off the bed in anger. "U are a dirty woman, Why the mess did U get a tattoo on your ass", he screamed in anger. She looked at him with frustration on her face. She was sick of him. His ways, his lies and his love affairs. "Excuse me, This is my body I can do what the heck I please, You are the one that can't commit to 1 woman", She screamed." I am sick of You. I hate myself for allowing you into my life.Don't U ever call me again because this so called relationship is over"she continue as she got her things together. She ran to the door, mad with anger but yet wishing he loved her the way she loved him. He ran after her, begging her to stay. After a few minutes of trying and pleading, she left for good.He sat down on his steps with tears rolling down his cheeks as he looked at her footprints in the sand. |

There needs to be a freedom of religious expressions. How about those Muslim women in France who are not allowed to show their face or body parts?? If the burqa is ban that means some will have to keep indoors. Why should society dictate how people dress? France have over 10 million Muslims who contribute to the society like an ordinary frenchman. They need the same freedom and respect like the rest of France.Obama thoughts on this"Asked how he felt about the French law, Obama said, "I won't take responsibility for how other countries are going to approach this. I will tell you that in the US, our basic attitude is that we are not going to tell people what to wear." prittigrrr: When I was married, I was a housewife. I also was a full time student. I loved being a housewife. I volunteered at my stepkids' school. I was in graduate school and I had time to manage the home and attend to my studies. On break, I would take a part time job, but most times, I only worked in the home. I volunteered at my church and stayed very, very busy. Most money came from my husband, but I was able to make pocket money doing a few things. I could easily go back to being a housewife because I know how to do a lot of different things. If I got bored, I could always open a home business or start working in my profession part time. However, I am glad I knew how to work and had experience and education since I ended up getting divorced. Even if a lady is a housewife, every woman should know how to work and provide for herself. Yes!! |
