What exactly are you doing with your time at home currently? Do you just sleep, wake up, eat, sleep, etc.

You say you are a medical student. That means you have an above average intelligence. So, your mind should be thinking of creative ways to earn money, rather than waiting for your dad to give you pocket money while you are at home.

My suggestion to you is think of a skill you can learn, which you can use to earn money. It may cost money to learn this skill. Now go to your dad and present the proposal to him, so he can help you cover the cost. Remember, don't go to him with an entitlement mentality.

Forget whatever your mother told you about him. Talk to him man to man, albeit with respect. You will be surprised at the outcome. That's if he's truly your biological father.

Please ask God for forgiveness for the harsh comments you made toward your father. I realize you are frustrated and you are still very young and naive, but... not cool.

I have a friend , he lost both his parents at age 17 or so.
This guy trained himself to have a skill, he trained himself to poly ( though with little support from his sisters), now he’s training himself at the university. I took my motivation from him .

He was busy praising his mom while cursing his own dad as if na him Dey take care of himself from childhood. As if the man never did good thing for him and the family before .. He spends 300 on transport X 26 days =

He spends 1k on data and call card monthly ( which me and you know say e no possible ) ..
He sends his old parent 2k to his parent monthly .

No matter how much you earn, if you don't know how to Save money and later Invest your savings, you would end up broke and poor.

@ seanwilliams , I am glad to let you know that I have tried this saving culture trick Over and over again.

In 2014, I bought a piece of land for 1.5 million Naira, then I was saving 7k daily.

Only those that don't know how to save money would disagree with what I am saying.

I still maintain the idea that no matter how small you think your income is, save something out of it..... Probably not to buy land but to go into other business like my man above said.

Nothing is too small to be called your savings. That is why banks don't reject your 5 Naira savings.

When you do that, you are developing a habit that is Profitable in the long-run.

Four years ago, I was earning around 20k, I couldn’t save nada because all of my salary would be spent on transport plus food so before month end, I would have borrowed money here and there to survive .
The money was not enough to even take care of my basic bills ( it couldn’t cover transport and food alone ), but I was doing the work so that I wouldn’t stay idle plus no one was ready to help..

Now I earn better, I can comfortably take care of my bills , now I save atleast x 50 of my old salary now infact most time , I earn more than my old salary in a day.. .

I know savings is good, and management can’t be overemphasized, but that will be after you must have taken care of your basic needs.
Mind you for you to save 7k daily in 2015, it means you earned nothing less down 10k in a day.


Can you expect someone earning 1k daily plus transport to save??..

You don’t expect someone earning 30k ( 50$) in a month , with one or two families to feed , to save. It’s practically impossible.. the only solution for someone like that is to fine better husle/job not savings ..
