Nairaland / General / Re: Which Year Did You Discover Nairaland ? by Microwhy: 11:24am On Mar 13, 2022
Nonexisting:
I heard about this forum in Naijahotjobs forum back maybe around 2013 when I was searching for jobs and have been a guest until last year.
That is true..
At some point, you will think that Naijahotjobs and Nairaland are own by same person. After job interview or aptitude test, nairaland is where to get update.
2009/2010 dpr recruitment is crazy, after a year, we all gather at Nairaland to organise and stage a protest which later yielded positive fruit. They released the result and everyone was happy.
Nairaland and Naijahotjobs are 5 & 6 back then..

They also get a housing allowance of over a million naira. There's a subsistence allowance of close to 600k. There's also a small dressing allowance and more. I'm sure of my figures. At level 10 you can average 6 mil anually. And I never said FIRS was top 5. I know there are more lucrative places to work.
cameeeeel:
firstly, I will want you to know that FIRS is a very good place to work but not as juicy as u think. NNPC , dpr, PPPRA and All Oil related agencies, NIMASA, NDIC, NPA, PENCOM pay far better than FIRS. after your basic salary at FIRS, u only get quarterly allowances, KPI( Key Performance Indicator bonuses) and the 13th month salary. Nothing else again except u become a State Monitor/Tax Controller of a branch that u might be receiving gifts/bribes in cash and in kind from different companies. Take it or leave it. I know many staff of FIRS that applied for NNPC 2019 recruitment and I know few that are seeking placement in other juicy agencies.... No doubt FIRS is a good place to work and it will be among A-10 Agencies to work for but not among A-5.

My friend works at FIRS. I've seen payslips. The basic monthly salary for a level 9 officer is 286k. That's 3,432,000 per annum. The Annual allowances come to roughly 4 million naira. Salary plus allowances would be 7,432,000 per annum at grade level 9. That's an average of over 600k per month in both salary and allowances.

Calls To Embrace Police recruitment In Anambra Hit Brick Wall- Igbo Youths Reacts Over Inability To Fill Quota As A State

We don’t always fill our quota as a State. Let our youths be mobilized to enroll online immediately for this employment scheme. Thank you.

Kenechukwu asked?- What happened to our quota in NNPC, CBN, dpr, NPA, NSE & the rest

Vincent Clerk -Mobilize your children to go and work as constables in the police. Not even as commissioned officers.
What happened to FIRS, NNPC, dpr, NDIC, CBN, SEC, NSE, NCS, NIS, FAAN, NCAA, FRCN, NPA, etc?. Does it mean that ghosts replace the dead and retired people from these Agencies?

Melody Chimnonso wrote- Na only police and armies do public announcements for recruitment what of CBN, NNPC, immigration don’t they have workers?

Akor – I have checked your page and never advertised CBN , NNPC, Ministry of Finance, and other ministries vacancies.. does it mean those that workers there doesn’t die or retire ??

Do you mean as the executive secretary? And if this is true then only God can save this recruitment cause this guy can come with his own wanting to start again or do favouritism to his people. Very rare they'll want to be fair. Sigh. I hope his education makes him better than dpr and co.

Not the ES but as a director. The 'word favourism to his people's clearly shows you don't know the first thing abt Dr. M. Abdulkadir. He's the perfect example of a Nationalist. He is not a bigot in anyway. And he is a great mentor or all his students, I did say some, I mean all his students.

Bro, Director; Center of Excellence on Technology Development and NOT the ES. Recall, the board launched a $50 million Nigerian Content Research and Development Fund. This "appointment" shows that they are indeed serious about research.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Department Of Petroleum Resources - 2016 Graduate Trainee &experienced Hire Job by AVATRO: 9:39am On Oct 08, 2021
Abeg some one should equally change the name of this Nairaland thread to reflect the current development. Lolsssss..... We have witnessed 3 diff directors and still counting. New recruitment likely by 1st half of next year.
Mailbab:
The Senate on Wednesday confirmed the appointment of board members of the Nigerian Upstream Regulatory Commission.

The confirmation of the nominees followed the consideration of a report by the Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources.

The new agency has automatically replaced the Department of Petroleum Resources because the commission would take over its responsibilities.

The nominees confirmed include Isa Modibbo – Chairman; Gbenga Komolafe – Chief Executive; Hassan Gambo – Executive Commissioner, Finance and Accounts; and Rose Ndong – Executive Commissioner, Exploration and Acreage Management.

Chairman of the Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream), Senator Albert Akpan, in his presentation, said that the nominees demonstrated sufficient knowledge of the workings of the petroleum industry, especially the upstream petroleum sector, as well as the economics of petroleum exploration and production.

He added that the appointments of the nominees satisfy the requirements of Sections 11 and 18 (1-5) of the Petroleum Industry Act, 2021.

According to the lawmaker, “there are no adverse reports against the nominees as record checks and other forms of investigations by security agencies did not reveal any negative trace against them.”

Akpan stated that the Committee was satisfied about the qualifications, experience, suitability, competence and integrity of the nominees to assume the position of Chairman, Chief Executive and Executive Commissioners of the Nigerian Upstream Regulatory Commission.

The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, said the establishment of the Nigerian Upstream Regulatory Commission would provide a foundation for the stabilisation of the petroleum industry in Nigeria.

He also said the confirmation of the NURC board has automatically led to the scrapping of the Department of Petroleum Resources as the new commission will take over its responsibilities.

He said, “The Regulatory Commission has the enormous and huge responsibility of setting and establishing the Commission as provided in the Petroleum Industry Act.

“They have the unenviable responsibility of ensuring that they commit themselves and work hard to provide the solid and stable foundation for that matter, that they don’t waste any time because time is of essence.

“The implication of the approval of board members for the commission is that the Department of Petroleum Resources has ceased to exist.”

“The Petroleum Industry will go through a reform process and the process has already started.

“This Commission is one of the huge arms of those reforms that will stabilize the petroleum industry in Nigeria.

“While the Senate confirms them, we expect nothing less than commitment and patriotism on their side.

“The Senate wishes them the best and a very fruitful tenure as they take their offices.

“We expect that the other regulatory authority for downstream and midstream will also be confirmed as soon as possible, so they also start their work immediately.”

You mean he was truncating this recruitment because he didn’t allow the powers that be to take over the entire recruitment completely cutting sons/daughters of the common man out.

If the New PEF ES is Engr. Sarki Auwalu and he has power over this recruitment then I’d definitely tell you that people that don’t know anybody at all in this recruitment are in trouble. The dpr experience has taught me that.
