Travel / Re: My Japa Relocation To Moscow Russia by tshtsh: 10:25am On Mar 25, 2022
4everEdward:
Their is a lot of job opportunities here in Russia, as of yesterday I went for this job opportunity but I was disqualified because I don’t know how to speak RUSSIAN. And the pay is p45,000 rubles which is 500usd

The only way you can Japa is through Study visa. Pls don’t let agent deceive you with work visa or any other visa.

Student visa is the best visa you can use to relocate you have rights just like their citizens

Russia visa is 3month but least the consulate can give you is 2 months visa and once you are in the country it can be prolonged…

Russia have 14 borders to china, Finland ETC.

Their are some universities that offers free education or scholarships for MSc students

And their are schools that has cheap and affordable tuition for BSc student also; so you have to make your research and find out more

First step to get a Russia student visa is

1. First and know the school you wanna apply write to them via their website and email them.

1a. Don’t just email one school, keep sending emails to different schools definitely one or two will reply your mail.

2. Legalized your documents Russia embassy

Documents to legalized are:
Waec
neco
Bsc degree
Etc

Russia schools accept half tuition payment depending on your school once you have paid your fee the immigration in Russia starts processing your IV which is your invitation letter to use to apply for visa in the embassy either in Nigeria or any country you have your residency.
Point of correction you can get permanent residence visa to canada from your village even. I got mine from my house via the express entry without even going to the canadian high commission. I wrote IELTS, got my degree verified through wes website and applied on the canadian government website . Biometric enrollment was done at VFS. The notion that you can only relocate via study is wrong. You can also relocate via work. I know two guys that got recruited by KPMG UK and PWC canada in 2021. There are more opportunities in the western world than in Nigeria but one has to relocate properly. Securing a B1/B2 visa to USA and relocating with it poses a lot of challenges when you arrive in USA as most jobs require the applicant possessing a permission to work. But then again people are different . This is just my opinion

LIVE AND WORK IN CANADA
Some countries, like Canada, have policies that allow skilled people earn permits to live and work in Canada.

If you are educated and looking for a legal way to move yourself or your family to Canada for a chance at a new path, these are details on how to go about it. Of course, this article cannot cover every aspect of immigrating to Canada. However, if you want to know more about the express entry process to move to Canada, this is for you.

There are many agents who charge a hefty fee to help you through the process. However, you can complete it on your own from beginning to end. You don’t have to, but you can. So, here you go!

Step 1a – Take the quiz to find out if you are eligible
Cost: FREE
The quiz is simple and you can do it by yourself here. If you have not done a language test before, give yourself a hypothetical test score and fill out your other information. I recommend you give yourself a test score lower than what you think you may get so you can gauge the amount of room you have to play around with.

Step 1b – Find out what your work NOC is
This is important because you can only claim work history in one NOC, which means if you’ve jumped around from job description to job description, you will need to choose the one that you have the longest number of consistent years of work. It is okay if you’ve changed jobs, but as long as your jobs have all been in one NOC, they count. Find your NOC here.

Step 2 – Register for the language test – IELTS General, etc
Cost: USD208/CAD275/N75,000
Time Required: 2 to 3 months
If you are eligible based on the quiz above, next step is to register for the language test. Everyone applying for Canadian PR has to take a language test to show proficiency in either French or English. You get bonus points if you can prove both! I recommend you give yourself a two to three-month window to prepare for the language test.

For most people, this is the only thing you have in your control. Your age isn’t going to change, your work history won’t change much and you may need a few years to get an additional degree. So, even though you have been speaking English all your life, IELTS General and others are standardised tests (yuck) and you have to know how they want you to answer the questions they ask. The most common test for English Language is IELTS General (you cannot use IELTS Academic for immigration purposes) but it isn’t the only one. See the approved language tests for Canadian PR here. This is the official site to register for IELTS with British Council.

Here are practice tests to help you prepare for the IELTS General test. Do not take these practice guides for granted. They go a long way in ensuring you ace the test.

Step 3 – Prepare your documents for wes evaluation
Cost: from USD230/CAD305/N83,000.
Time Required: 2 months.
Use the two or three months of IELTS preparation to also prepare your degree evaluation, so you can save time. Everyone who goes to school outside of Canada must go through this process. The Canadian IRCC has a list of certified organisations that can verify your degree and equate it with a Canadian one. The list of organisations can be found here. The most common on this side of the pond is wes. Basically, they need to say that your degree is equivalent to so-so-and-so degree in Canada.

You can decide to evaluate your most recent degree or all your degrees. The IRCC only requires your most recent degree (your highest degree), however, you need to figure out what works best for you. It is important to note that if you evaluate multiple degrees under one wes profile, it costs the same as evaluating only one degree. This is the process:

Register an account with wes here.
Fill out a profile and provide information about your degree(s). Please, make sure every detail is correct and you cross-check a couple of times.
Pay the evaluation fee of CAD220 and the courier fee of CAD85 (for them to ship your evaluation back to you). I recommend you pay the CAD85 courier fee instead of the CAD7 regular postage fee so that when your evaluation is returned, it is returned speedily and securely and doesn’t get stuck in the local post system. As soon as you pay, you will receive a unique wes Number.

Note: When you put in all your degree details, the wes system will automatically pull out the documents you are required to send to them for verification. For most countries, only transcripts are required. Unfortunately, those with Nigerian degrees are required to provide a whole lot more due to a number of people sending in falsified documents. This is where you need to decide whether to use only your higher degree if you have one from another country. List of requirements for Nigerian degrees:
Degree Certificate
Academic Transcripts
Final Secondary Examination Results
WAEC/neco Scratch Card

Requirements were the same for everyone till late 2018 when they couldn’t take the number of fraudulent documents coming their way from Nigeria anymore. Too bad!

Apply for your transcripts and documents. If your school has a cut-throat process, all the more reason to ensure you have enough time to go through this process. Also, remember to factor in the cost of requesting transcripts.
Send your required documents to wes. Make sure you follow all the instructions. All transcripts and documents must be sealed and signed or stamped across the seal fold of the envelope and every envelope must have your wes number on it. Courier shipping via DHL from Lagos to the wes Toronto office costs about $65 or CAD86 or N23,000.
Wait for wes to receive your documents and complete your verification. It takes 20 working days from when they receive all your required document for them to send you an evaluation report. This is the report that you need for your Canadian PR application.

Step 4 – Take your IELTS Test & Get Results
Time Required: 13 Days.
Your speaking test will be on a different date from writing, reading and listening tests. You will receive an email a few weeks to your test date with details of your speaking test (usually the speaking test is same week as your main test date). All other three tests will be on the day you chose when you registered. Give the test your best shot, keep calm and pick up your results two weeks later. You will be able to pick up your results 13 days after your main test date.

Step 5 – Create an Online express entry Profile.
Now that you have your wes evaluation report and your language test results, you are ready to create an express entry profile. Real quick, use this tool to find out what your exact CRS Score will be. This time, you have the actual information and you can tell what your exact score will be. You don’t know what the cut off score will be but you can check what the cut-off for the last draw was (the week or two weeks before you check) here. That way, you have an idea whether you stand a high chance in the pool or not.

This profile will close within 60 days of opening, that is if you do not submit, so try to complete it as soon as you can. You will be asked personal information, work history, test scores, degree details, etc. All these details will add up to give you a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Score. Make sure you are truthful and consistent. As soon as you complete and cross-check your express entry profile, go ahead and submit it.

You have officially joined the express entry Pool.

Step 6 – Wait for an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
Time Required: 1 Day to Indefinite…
Every two weeks, a draw is made from the pool of submitted express entry profiles. This draw is done to offer ITAs to candidates. An ITA basically says…’you can now begin the official application process for PR.’ The exact cut-off score is determined by the number of selections the committee plans to choose from that draw. For example, if they need 3,500 selections from that draw, they pick the highest 3,500 candidates in the pool on that date and the 3500th person’s score becomes the cut-off score. If there is a tie for the 3500th person, they use factors like date and time of submission to break the tie. Just as a guideline, the cut-off scores for January and February 2019 were as follows: 449 (Jan 9), 443 (Jan 23) and 438 (Jan 30). See the full list of cut-off scores here.

If you are one of the top candidates, you can receive an ITA in the next draw from when you submit your profile. Technically, if you submit your profile today and the draw is tomorrow, you can get an ITA in one day. However, if your score falls short, you can stay in the pull and keep doing other things to improve your score. See a detailed explanation on ways to improve your score while you’re in the express entry pool. After 12 months, if you don’t get selected from the pool, it will expire and you will have to create a new one.

Also, while waiting for an ITA, you can register in the Job Bank and start looking for jobs.

Step 7 – Apply for Canadian Permanent Residency
Cost: USD785/CAD1,040/N282,600 per adult applicant and USD113/CAD150/N54,000 per dependent children.
Time Required: 6 months.
Now that you have been invited to apply, you will need to prepare your application and submit all your documents. It is important to note that your fee of CAD1,040 is split into CAD550 application fee and CAD490 right to permanent residence fee. If you do not successfully get PR, the CAD490 will be refunded to you. You only have 60 days to complete this application!
Documents Required:

Application Fee (see above)
Test Results
Academic Verification Report
Digital Photographs
Medical Examination: Every country has an approved list of panel physicians who can provide a medical examination. In Nigeria, there are three in Lagos and one in Abuja and the costs may vary slightly. See here to find their addresses and book an appointment.
Police Certificates: If you have lived in a country for more than 6 months in a row, within the last 10 years, you have to include police reports from each of those countries (including your home country, where you currently live). The cost of obtaining a police certificate will differ based on where you live and where you are requesting one from. See how to get a police certificate in each country.
Passport Biodata Page
Reference or Experience Work Letter: your former and current employers listed on your express entry Profile must all provide letters to prove your work history with them.
Proof of Funds: you must provide a letter from your bank vouching for the availability of funds required for relocation. These are the amount required for relocation:
1 Family Member (you alone): CAD12,669 or N3.46 million.
2 Family Members: CAD15,772 or N4.31 million.
3 Family Members: CAD19,390 or N5.30 million.
4 Family Members: CAD23,542 or N6.43 million.
5 Family Members: CAD26,701 or N7.29 million.
6 Family Members: CAD30,114 or N8.22 million.
7 Family Members: CAD33,528 or N9.15 million.
For each additional family member: CAD3,414 or N932,000.
Other Documents: Depending on whether you have children, you are divorced, married, and so on, there is a host of other documents required including name change certificate, birth certificate of child(ren), marriage certificate, etc. Find the full details here.

Once you have all your complete documents, you will be able to fill out your application on the portal and upload scanned copies of all your documents. Make sure you follow the guidelines for clarity, size and resolution of all documents. You will also be able to make your payment.

Step 8 – Bio-metrics.
At some point, you may be called to submit your bio metrics at a local embassy or VFS.

Step 9 – Wait and live your life!
According to the IRCC, 80% of all applicants receive a response within 6 months. Just spend 6 months worrying. Just go about your business. You can log into your profile from time to time to check what stage your application has reached. For some people, it comes in 2 months and for others, it takes 6! It doesn’t matter, just keep living your life.

Step 9 – Receive a PPR – Passport Request email – Ready for Visa.
Once you get this letter, you can send in your passports. Your PR approval will also come with a deadline when you have to enter into Canada or else your PR will be invalidated. This is usually between 6 months to 1 year from the approval. You are ready to go!

Good morning people. Quick questions;
1. Is it mandatory that the bank statement for Visa application should be for 6 months and more? I ask because with the way Naira is depreciating, I have a business I want to do for 3 months to make more money, rather than keep the money in my account. I intend to apply for Feb 2022 intake
2. If I am doing Feb 2022, when can I start the admission application?
3. In the absence of lost WAEC certificate, could neco be used for Post Graduate Diploma?
4. I have deleted my express entry account because of low points and decided to pursue the academic route. I would be applying for PGD even though I have Masters, which I had done wes with and details supplied in my initial EE. Hope it won't raise a red flag?

So sorry for my plenty questions, I just don't want to make mistakes.

God bless as you give your thoughts

1. Yes, on CIC's website, it is 4-6 months. But to stand a better chance. It is advisable to submit a bank statement of 6 months or 1 year. And for the NSE route, it is mandatory to submit a mybankstatement of 1 year.

2. It is best to start now if you want to resume in the Winter semester. The earlier the better.

3. I don't have any idea about this.

4. It has been known that applications get denied due to lack of career progression. But wait for a guru to address this

House please, i'm in Labyrinthine condition. Do consider advising me on this! I'm having canadian dream.

(1) I have my O'level(neco) and Nigeria Certificate of Education(NCE) where I studied Integrated Science/Physics(3years program) in one of the Colleges of Education in Nigeria.
*I wish to study any science/computer related course in Canada. Can my previous NCE result be of any help for me? If yes, how?
(Sorry to digress a bit, if I applied for express entry, can wes evaluate NCE result? What will be the point? I will pass IELTS and I have 4-year UAE work experience with proof of fund)

(2) I'm currently working in Dubai-UAE, can I apply for canada study permit from here after being granted admission by my university/college of choice or I need to cancel my contract here in UAE and come to Nigeria to face the process fully?

(3) (if I need to cancel my contract) since I have enough proof of fund for my first year and maintenance, can I declare myself as the sponsor of my study, since I no more receive salary pending my application process, will it have any effect facing the embassy?

Pls assist me with answers. God bless!

Hi Abisoye, i would not advise you to resign from your job till you get an approval on your application.

You can get a letter of introduction or reference letter from your office addressed to the Deputy High commission just to show you are a staff and still in employment and if possible ( if you can) a study leave letter. These will show the VO there is something compelling you to depart Canada immediately after your studies and that you are well established.

Please be patient for the gurus in the house to address your other queries..

It will end in praise.

Hello Fam,
Please under study and language when filling express entry form
Am I just to only put the details of all studies (in this case masters and neco)verified by wes for spouse,

Or am I to put all including first degree?

Or just the masters study details alone?

I put details of all my studies. After each detail you enter they'll ask if you have an ECA for it. I answered no for my degree and law school. I answered yes for my masters as I evaluated only my masters

Hi guys, this thread has been a life saver. Apparently, express entry is not a walk in the park.

Please I have a few questions. First, I had two sittings at o level. Will that be a problem for wes evaluation and which result is advisable for me to use, I had English in neco and maths in waec?

To answer you directly, wes is not interested in your past sins o-level results. Only post secondary qualifications are required and grade does not matter. What matters is that you graduated.

All the best!

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOGGGGG POST ALERT!!!! GRAB YOUR POP CORN AND SODA grin

So my mum had been singing this express entry song in my ear for a few years now, every other day she would announce to my sister and I how this neighbor has left, that family have moved, but it was just entering one ear and passing through the other. Even when I was preparing for my Masters she suggested Canada I tried British Columbia but never followed up cos to be honest I wasn't interested. My reason back then was abeg I don't want to do any Masters more than 1 year, see UK do 1 year sharply and come back (as a patriotic citizen that I am na)

Well, so I finished my masters and came back home no problem, got a job in 2014 all was well, then some time last year I noticed the absence of one makeup artist I knew, I went and checked her ig page and started seeing some Canadian locations HIAN!!!! then next thing I saw her departure video on youtube EWO!!! I contacted her and she told me everything to do but still I didn't follow up. At the time I was on Holiday the most I did was to open wes profile which I couldn't submit cause I wasn't sure how my name was written in my MSc Certificate this was August 2018. I came back and life continued, from time to time I would tell my bestie "come o lets goan write this test, we would laugh and never lift a finger".

Then Nigeria started happening to us, everyday on the news it was one bad news or the other and more often than not nothing was done about all these accidents and insecurity drowning the country. Occasionally, another friend of mine will bring it up and be like "and we have everything o" me too I will say "abi" but no move. Then my mum came again that my brother and his wife had started their process o (that one to flew past my ear) she kept updating me on their progress but I didn't move. Then sometime in November 2018, I told my bestie come lets just write this thing abeg, she agreed and we registered to write December 15, 2018. I focused more on everyother part except writing (a decision I would later regret). I started "listening" to writing (imagine) a few days to the exam date, I never put pen to paper undecided.

Fast Forward to result date I was chilling in Asaba when I saw the result online and it hit me. To be honest I had a cocktail of emotions but I blamed myself for not practicing that writing. Another reality check was my birthday was fast approaching (January) and of course we know the drill. I think at this point my brother and his family had been called for biometrics. My Sister in law (SIL) tried to encourage me to write again I said I'm not doing again biko rubbish. even when I came back after Christmas it took me almost a month to go pick up the hard copy from BC. Infact because I didn't want to write again, I started considering Saski baby for PNP. I also let my makeup artist friend know and her response was "babe you should have started with your ECA first" (did I know what she was talking about) cos the way I was following this matter was very nonchalant.

ECA

Well I did small research and understood the rationale behind doing ECA before writing IELTS. Sometime towards the end of January I revisited that wes profile, I was back at home so I had every detail at my reach, filled all the forms and paid cost about $305 (can't readily get the exact amount) at the time I didn't know I could just use a Canadian address plus I thought I would need to scan the hard copy, ultimately because I did not want long story of how it got lost in transit.

MSc

For my Masters it was a walk in the park I did everything over the phone including payment of 10 pounds I didn't even need to give them the wes address (Chai oyibo amaka)

BSc

Shey if I started since my matter would have ended in MSc but now I had to do BSc and WAEC. See eh let me just say now that ignorance is expensive. Long story short I spent 60k (with abeg o) for transcript that would have cost me 25k to process online. Well moving on wes sent for second verification and my delay started, this lecturer that wanted to use me to complete his house in the village before Christmas started another story, VC this, Dean that, faculty that long and short is bring more money. Anyway I met an angel when I attended and AGM of an Operator, apparently the new Independent Director was a professor in my school so I went to introduce myself after the meeting, we exchanged numbers and got chatting somehow it led to me complaining about the services of the school. Prof. took it up and found out the my school had received the letter from wes and dumped it somewhere reason being that wes does not provide money to post back to them ARE YOU MAD!!!! (in my loudest Lasisi's voice) Why can't you notify the alumni involved to bear the cost of posting since they initiated the process in the first place (it's a no brainer right?). Well Prof. carried my matter on his head and paid the fee for posting, I kept thanking him till I even called my mum to thank him cos she was already planning to travel to my school. I later got to find out that my school website actually works and I could have done it online quietly.

neco

In between my Uni roller coaster I used neco because like many stories I have seen here there was a mistake with my DOB so local girl quietly used neco and I had not regrets. I sent them a mail using the email address I got on their website and to my surprise they responded with full details on how to go about it which I followed to the letter. I posted using DHL to Minna the inside was the envelope to wes (everything cos about 30k). Then I got a call saying I short paid that I needed to add additional 4k. I had the option to go online and pay again and post evidence or transfer the money to the caller. Please I weighed my options I took the risk of transferring to the caller (4k will not wreck me) luckily, he made the payment and sent me the receipt of payment. It was processed in less than a week and posted to wes (I was able to track the whole movement). wes received in good time and processed while I continued my Uni back and forth.

I also have a brother in law schooling in Canada so I scanned my Certificates to him to post to wes which was received and acknowledged in no time.
Well my whole ECA wahala took roughly 5 months and looking bag it was God's doing because of how everything aligned in June.

IELTS AGAIN

Some time in April my bestie sent me a screenshot this girl had smashed IELTS (MOGBE!!!!!) this one wants to leave me in this country HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. (we had been fighting so there was a major break in communication, she had written the test during our malice period). Home girl had 9 in listening infact her overall was 8.5 she smashed shaaaa her CRS was 471 as per Doctor. Now that was all the ginger I needed.
Oh I forgot to mention during my ECA waiting period my brother and family had received PPR and even relocated. (all this was working in my favour)
I quickly registered for IELTS (June 1) with MOD this time and started practicing, people of God I ate, drank and slept IELTS went through the whole handout provided by MOD even joined their webinar ( I would usually lock myself in the office toilet for that 2 hrs it took). I didn't play with writing this time Jay (E2 Language) was my go to guy, that was when I understood the technicalities in writing. I practiced several letters and essays till I knew by just a glance when I hit the minimum word count. Anyhoo, speaking day came I left office 30 mins to my allotted time it was just 5 mins from my office, the examiner (a lady) kept asking "WHY" to every response I gave and she came off a bit mean but anyway I made sure I answered every question and kept talking and "embellished" wink

June 1 came people of God I typed this address on google map, aunty answered me but as an old abuja girl I said she did not know what she was saying that I always see the place on my way to gwarinpa. That's how I drove to my own venue (because that was not MOD venue) I realized I was driving to the billboard of the venue (Aduvie School) on gwarinpa express way not the actual venue, this was I think 10 mins to time. Oya na see me, I went back to google map aunty showed me same place she showed me before it was 20 mins away hmmmmmm let's just say Fast & Furious was child's play that day. I made it, did all the protocol and started listening and reading I was confident then writing came I started, my darlings when they announced 3 mins more I went back to the essay question and realized I didn't answer the question my heart sank I kept hearing Jay's voice when he kept saying go back to the question from time to time at this point, I had no choice but to submit. As soon as I left the hall I called my sister and told her she just said don't worry just wait till you see the result. I also told someone else on this journey and she goes "but were you making sense in the nonsense?" I'm like yes, she said then don't worry.

I was in Lagos on inspection in June when bestie sent me her ITA grin (I think it was June 12 draw), now my IELTS result was also due in June, ECA was also June 24, I was working on the mainland I realized it was close to Alagbon so I just sneaked out one day called Inspector Funke (I think) and she did my PCC at 3500 (instead of waiting to get back to abuja and paying 10k yimu undecided). Prior to this, I had already processed my UK PCC and God so kind it was delivered to my house in my absence after a mild drama with my gateman that sent the postman away, as my mum did not kill him that day he will live very long cheesy.

IELTS came out and I could barely contain my joy LRWS - 8/9/8/8.5 overall 8.5

Coincidentally my CRS was also 471 lol

ITA

I was prepared for ITA, June 25 I got ITA and started immediately, I already had most of the documents required and was able to figure out my NOC after so much confusion and indecision (NOC 1114), I created a folder, labelled and grouped them accordingly basically created sub folders inside the main folder to avoid stories of mixing up documents.

Documents as scanned and uploaded:

Education - neco, BSc, MSc, wes and IELTS
Digital Photo scanned and uploaded
Medicals - IOM (booked appointment I had to pay additional 5,100 due to price increase, the whole process took about 5 hours.....go early)
PCC - Nigeria and UK (there was another provision for foreign PCC so I still uploaded the UK one separately)
POF - Letter from my bank and 6 months bank statement (I hear 4 is good but oh well) I used ilovepdf to shrink the size (that website is GOLD)
Travel Document - I scanned all the pages of my passport and uploaded (I did not scan the previous passport which had part of my travel history, this bothered me during my wait)
Proof of Employment - One of my bosses signed for me I didn't want HR wahala knowing they would never do it in the format I wanted, so I went to him and explained the situation, he was willing to sign for me, I followed the format my SIL used for hers and did mine, he made some corrections and signed and attached his complimentary card. So I scanned the letter, his card and mine, my ID card, 6 months payslip, promotion letters and employment letter all as one document.
Proof of sibling relationship - my brother's PR card, bank statement showing address, birth certificate, sworn affidavit for one and same person as oga decided to shorten his name, sworn affidavit by my mum declaring she's my mum (apparently she did this years ago) she couldn't find my birth certificate but she had my baptismal card which had both parent's names in it, childhood pictures highlighting my brother and I and his wedding pictures (don't laugh o) that's all I scanned as one document for that slot. I was worried.

Yea that was all and I submitted and paid at once using my GTB mastercard.

AOR was same day July 8.

MEP/BIL

I was on holiday when I got the GU (that was when I knew what it meant lol) then the mail August 1st, the next day I found my way to VFS office in London and did my biometrics and the wait began.

Like I stated in my previous post I zoned out, I joined whatsapp groups including one Indian one (those people hmmmmmm) anyway the phone got lost and I never bothered again. I continued my life as usual work, business etc I simply refused to tie myself to it. I just checked my profile every other week. I kept hearing people say "check your spam" I never really understood cos I thought any mail will definitely reflect on my dashboard (now I know better lol). Anytime I called my mum her first question was "o landigo" (has it landed) cheesy
When I came back after my holiday my passport had less than 6 mths to expire so I quickly renewed (10yrs 64pgs) and notified IRCC which was acknowledged. Then I continued my wait. From time to time I worried about proof of sibling relationship, my other passport I didn't upload, I was also worried about my previous visa refusal which I couldn't find the UCI but I notified them that I had deleted the profile and gave them every information I could with regards that application. Please note that I made this explanation while I was was filling the form under the visa refusal part so I didn't have to do a separate LOE. However, I had resolved that I wasn't explaining anything I wasn't asked cos from reading the thread I observed they asked if they weren't clear on anything in your application.

Fast forward to December I started seeing testimonies from my AOR/BIL group then I stated getting restless but I maintained my calm and just said short prayers at random whenever I remembered my application. Then I made that declaration (check previous post) on December 5th. On the night of the 9th I was on the thread when I saw how to call IRCC I started downloading the app then I got hooked on the "textnow apk" and slept off trying to download it, little did I know it was God telling me not to bother, my alarm woke me up by 5:30, i went to pee and usually I hardly sleep back I snoozed till like 6 then I picked up my phone and in my usual fashion I switched on my internet for the overnight messages to flowing in then I checked my mails as usual that was when I saw "Ready for Visa" shocked shocked shocked shocked sleep left my eyes, I felt hot, I felt cold, I stood up, I sat down infact eh, I can't remember all the nonsense I did before I called my mother, that one collected the remaining part of the crase and screaming from me I called my sister same reaction lol. When I settled down I just went straight and deleted that call app with my chest lol.

SUBMISSION

I submitted same day all you need for submission:

1) 2 passport photographs (you'll be given the specification) it must be stamped and signed behind by the photo studio then you need to write your full name and DOB behind
2) 2 coloured copies of your bio data page
3) 2 coloured copies of the "ready for visa" mail

for 2 and 3 above, they only took one copy but just go with 2)

4) your biometrics slips
5) 8200 cash ( its actually 7,440 but with sms inclusive it becomes 8,200)

no appointment needed (at least for abuja)

THAT IS ALL!!!!

I never knew I could type this epistle but joy will make you type it grin I wonder who would have the time to read this lol sorry o, excuse all typos and spelling errors.

PS: I believe besties PPR is knocking cos she has been asked to provide one last document so I strongly believe once she does the eagle will land.

Something that started as a joke has turned to reality.

I hope you enjoy my story as much as I enjoyed reading that of others and I look forward to reading more success stories no matter how small, ECA, IELTS, PCC, POF, PPR its always so refreshing to read these stories knowing its all leading to one goal. My prayer is that none of us will be left behind on this journey it will end in praise and not only that we will excel in this new chapter of our lives. Amen. grin

Lots of congrats... Do you mind hooking me up with your Medical Doctor bestie for helpful hints on the practice readiness that helps a Nigerian Doctor start to practice while working on the other certifications? Thanks

Arlanda:
How many document should one evaluate if you are applying to PNP or express entry.

I have Bsc accounting, this is where I got my work experience from and the particular NOC I chosed. But I got this degree from Nigeria university, considering the stress involve to get transcript in my school, worst of, I presently don't reside in Naija.

On the other hand, I have masters in Business Studies with focus in accounting in global enterprises. I obtained this degree from a European university and I believed this will be easier for me to verify in wes or any other chosen assessment organisation.

Please, should I evaluate my masters only for PNP. Or evaluate bachelor degree, masters respectively.

Lastly, is there need to evaluate neco result as well.

Thanks.

Yes, do evaluate just your masters(which gives your maximum point for masters)

AOR – PPR 124 days

I've not slept throughout abeg, the headache is crazy. Apologies for the typo.

DETAILS

Frankly I had not quite thought about relocating from this country. Even with the continued inability to secure a good job, after graduating. I then moved on to taking ACCA hoping that this will help me well somehow it did.
My Canadian uncle talked me into doing a programme in Canada with the aim of relocating permanently. I obliged and started the process. I used an agent that my roommate from the University used in the past which worked out for then. However I got denied the student visa reason being my agent told me to show that I have family in Canada. So I did, I requested my uncle’s Passport (data page and that of his family as instructed by the agent). Consequently I got denied the visa and was completely devastated.
Fast forward two years on, I was close to completing the ACCA exam when my Uncle again brought another wonderful idea. He told me he will help to arrange a lady from there and bring her to Nigeria make I start work on top her (make her fall in love with me… you get the idea). Behold, December 29 2016 the beautiful damsel was here in Nigeria. We picked her up at the Airport in Port Harcourt. Omo the beauty no me small, me wey dey reluctant before, omo I change mind sharp sharp. The babe was really friendly and open we just dey gist wella like I sabi her before. We finally landed for my village (Mbaise things nwanne) where I hoped it would be smooth sailing.
Boy, how wrong I really was. It turned out I had an aunt that was ‘jealousing me’. Omo the madam just singe handedly spoil the whole I swear matter, the woman and children turn to monitoring spirit. No privacy whatsoever, given that the girl stayed in my uncle’s house and my aunty and her children turned themselves into Permanent Residents in his house. Even when I took the girl out omo them follow body, Jesus!!! To cut the story short, it worked out as they wanted and I never really got the girl. Maybe na me slack o….
A year later, my uncle forwarded some information to me about express entry omo the wound of not getting that lady was still there so I just overlooked it jare saying that ACCA was more important (In truth it was)
express entry JOURNEY
I had just passed the ACCA after so many heart breaking moments failurew. My new found friend (My dad’s staff) whose wedding I attended as my dad was unavailable discussed the idea of express entry with me and gave me plethora of information about the route. I never knew that brother man was already in post AOR. He told me about wes, IELTS and introduced me to both canadavisa group as well as nairaland.
ECA
The ECA brought its issues. I had thought that the ACCA in itself would be equivalent to two or more BSc but it wasn’t unfortunately. Evaluating the ACCA was so damn easy and quick. The response was so swift from them. In no time I got ECA for ACCA being equivalent to one BSC kai all the time I wasted when I could have pursued by BSc evaluation too.
Then I attempted to evaluate my BSc from Nnamdi Azikiwe University. I was lucky my cousin who shares the same alma mater as I was in the neighbourhood. Incidentally, the guy man get so much mouth for school there so getting through to exams and records was a piece of cake for him so in no time he was able to get it do and courier it to wes. However, I made a very silly mistake which was using the old wes number not knowing that I had to reapply and get a new wes number. Omo forget, these westerners don’t make life difficult at all o. I reapplied got the new wes number mailed them my tracking number and apologized for the mistake and it was acknowledged.
Another mistake was that I didn’t include WAEC or neco result and scratch card. At this point I thought my world would just implode on me. That’s because my WAEC result had some mistakes i.e my name and age. I had only used an affidavit to clear that up but was still worried. I stalled and continued to worry until I read through wes site again and came across the option of neco omo I brimmed with smiles and joy like the PPR done dey.
Then there was the neco result wahala. I had to make some funny payments to process it,up to 20k actually. But the part that upset was the need to use remitta to pay. I wasn’t properly guided so I had to make the payments twice it really wasn’t funny though. It took about three weeks for it to get done though I tipped the guy at neco office extra 2k. Three weeks later as said, I was sent the tracking number via text message. That was sometime in December 2018. I thanked the man via text and surprisingly, the guy man replied saying, ‘thank me with MTN card o’. I was like, ‘see this guy man o’.
IELTS
As guy no too hold bar I just opted for MOD IELTS (68k) jeje. I studied using online materials. I just searched ‘IELTS practice test’ online and started practicing online mainly the listening and reading. First attempt should have been the best L 8.5 R 6.5 S 8 W 7. (I used ielts liz here.) I was considering remarking, having read so many reviews about the possibility of getting the reading remarked I just tried again.
Second attempt: L 7.5, R 6.5, S 8, W 6.5
Frankly I had known this won’t go well. That’s because one madam’s headset stopped working and she was determined to ensure that no one concentrated till those guys fix the headset (this happened during the three people dialogue part). Your guy just gave up and the result was obvious.
Third attempt: L 7.5, R 5.5, S 7.5, W 6.5
Omo this one weak me pass. First the Speaking was kinda annoying in that instructor was a woman. While she was asking the questions she was doing this thing that some woman do, showing just the white part of her eyes (no pupils) it was so distracting. Only God knows what happened during the reading 5.5? But guys forget o I felt the reading was my best o. I was like if I no get like 8 for this thing eh I go vex o. Unfortunately, well una see am na. I used both ieltsliz and jay’s videos
Fourth attempt: L 8, R 8, S 7.5, W 7
Unlike other attempts, this time, I went for classes in Ikeja studied like mad, did group practice with friends for speaking, went to my friend’s church’s crusade (Lord’s Chosen) I also stumbled on ielts advantage (Chris Pell). This guy sabi abeg! I was tempted to attend his VIP class for $500. Omo where you keep that money for that kind one I just continued with the bonus videos till he launched his $1 class for writing. Ehen that seemed doable, (370 naira didn’t hurt nobody). It really opened my eyes to a lot of things and mistakes I had been making all this while. This time I was far more confident. On the day of the exam, your guy reach Ikeja along and something told me to search for my passport. I start to check bag omo e no dey? Jesus!!! I began considering booking Gokada back home I almost ran mad. Then I remembered mum always says, ‘stay calm when searching for important thing’. Na so your guy just stayed calm and checked the smallest pocket in my bag then that green silly thing popped up.
ITA
I was actually expecting 8,7,7,7 meaning my CRS will be 457. However, it was better than I thought 463. With my profile ready, I fell into the pool. A week later, precisely 6/26/2019, CRS draw was done and the score came to 462. The joy was quite overwhelming. 60 days to get everything done abi? So another journey stated.
POF
Dad and Canadian uncle to the rescue! They had told me to do my part and leave the finances to them. In three weeks they came up with 90% of the cash which was all paid in Dad’s account. He then forwarded to me in installments. In all I had 4million in my account.
We put together a gift deed which got notarized. (PS I didn’t exactly use the format bandied around on nairaland per se). It was a deed then i included a schedule of the inflows from my dad and the dates i received the transfers from.

Imagine one lawyer was asking for 20k to notarize my document. Shooooo! The guy man talk say he is a renowned lawyer in Nigeria bla bla bla. He was among those that amended constitution etc He even told me he’s such a rich guy that he buys his clothes from abroad, more bla bla bla. The Oga even prayed for me sef for my success in Canada and all my endeavor in life. I still no do am for him hand. Another firm did it for me at 2k in less than 10 minutes without prayers and no bla bla bla… But guys to be honest, immediately after this other firm did it at 2k, Omo your guy take off o, before they change their mind say na 10k abi 15k.(PS if you have the cash to patronize a big time lawyer, by all means kindly do so. I was badly out of cash then).
I printed a 6 months bank statement showing 4 million
MEDICAL
I booked the medical at Qlife which is cheaper than IOM, I think the difference was between 5 – 8k. Though it took about three weeks before my appointed date. I got the directions to Qlife from obalende from one of us at nairaland (so much love). I got there by 6am only to find up to 20 people ahead of me (omo the exodus plans from Nigerian eh, the hustle is real).
As usual, those nice ladies came out to give us information and separate those for US from Canada. I did the urine test, blood test, eye test and both my height and weight were checked. After waiting and looking around, watching the Johnsons on the television. I was finally called in by the doctor. He asked me a couple of questions. Here’s the dialogue
Doctor: Do you smoke?
Me: Hell no!!!
Doctor: (Smiling) Do you take alcohol?
Me: Only on special occasions
Doctor: Do have any tattoos or have you had a surgery recently?
Me: (why this guy man dey ask this kind question abi he no see say I be gentleman?)I don’t have one besides my family will be on my case over that with series of meetings. Though I’ve had a surgery about 15 years ago when I had a wrist fracture.
Doctor: (Laughing) Okay that’s fine, the surgery is too far back to really be a cause for worry.
Me: What’s really the issue around tattoos?
Doctor: Shared needles for tattoos can lead to spread of Hepatitis B besides we will have needed another test.
Me: (Omo so this is the risk these guys face) Okay great.
He then did my body examination I had to lift my shirt and breathe while he felt my chest and all. It was tickling, in my mind I was wondering, ‘man dey exam me and I feel tickled, if na woman doctor nko…… (feel in the gaps). That was all and I was walking out of the hospital. 4hours in total.
PCC
This one was not hard at all I called both Inspector Moshood and Wale. After discussing the possibility of doing the process the next day, I asked how much and I got the same response from like say them plan am, ‘We are police, we don’t talk about money when carrying out our duties’. Okay o I done hear. I went there the next day and asked for Oga Moshood and saw a tall dark looking man. Omo forget this man has a nice way of relating with people. He did the finger print thing for me. While filling the document and reading my printing with the microscope, he kept making some funny remarks saying all my fingerprints suggest that my off springs will be mainly male. Well if that’s true my mom go happy die na as she set the precedence with two guys and two ladies. I paid him 5k and he was, ‘like the money no even complete sef’. He wished me success though.
EMPLOYMENT HISTORY/ REFERENCE LETTER
This was by far the easiest to obtain as I had worked for a firm of Chartered Accountants for the duration of 3 year and few months so that sufficed. Incidentally it’s owned by my mentor who is also from my home town (Mbaise connection). When I told him what I wanted and the reason, his eyes lit up and immediately he called the Admin manager of the firm and his secretary to attend to my needs ASAP. So I used the office letterhead paper to state my claims. This was duly signed by the Oga and he was wished me success all the way.

Least I forget, I was paid in cash while working at the firm. Was a very meagre sum so I guess that's why it wasn't questioned. I showed three months PAY slips. All in the compnay letterhead.

SET BACK
Well I did encounter a huge setback. After filling in my profile, the location I chose as where to reside was Quebec! and this made sense because my uncle resides there. I was saying to myself that at least for a few months I won’t have to worry about rent and all. AOR was out on 3rd August. I was so happy that things had started to look up only to get the message from cic saying my application was refused three days later. The reason was that I didn’t have the requirements to reside in that region (no evidence of French ability) I was massively distraught. I thought some of the bad village people done dey use me shine. It was a terrible feeling. However, I took it as a blessing in disguise, in that my passport had 5 months and 21 days left before expiring so I decided to take this set back as an opportunity to get my passport renewed and have some peace of mind.
PASSPORT RENEWAL
My oga in the passport office told me it would cost 50K to get the passport done. Good thing I had already completed the NIN which took me a while though. In three weeks the passport was ready but to get it out was a struggle. Only those wey sabi person were being attended to early. We started to complain seriously till one senior officer decided to come around and restore due process. After five hours I was walking out with my new bio passport looking all green, you know bling bling…

NEW ITA
I was now in the pool and determined that nothing will impede me from getting the ITA real soon. Unfortunately for me, the next draw came out I think a day after my profile was ready and IRCC now decided to join the village folk to frustrate me even more: August 12 2019 new draw and guess what 466… Chai Omo I had never felt so depressed. I was close to tears asking God why and asking myself why I was so stupid to have made such a stupid mistake. I was like (Quebec ebguwo m ooooo). I was saying that like every day. Then on August 15 2019, I said a mail from cic you know the ‘do not reply’ mail and I was asking myself what had happened this time abi them won drop another bombshell? On opening the mail, strangely it was Provincial/Territorial Interest Letter from Ontario…. Guys to be honest I was pleased initially but when I went online to find out about PNP stories, frankly all that optimism got extinguished particularly when I saw the cash requirement of $1,500. We done hustle gather 4 million with sweat adding that extra $1500 to the mix didn’t sound like a very good idea. I still went on to discuss it with my folks and they had this optimism that I would be fine without the PNP. Though I know it had a lot to do with the fact that they were exhausted having raised as much cash as they did.
Somehow, I just had so much faith that the new the draw will come out soon and it will be lower. D day, August 20 2019 and the new draw was done (first time I heard of biweekly draw) it was 457. I entered the pool without wasting time.
This time I made no mistakes in filling the forms especially when you consider that all the needed info was already handy. When it came to that question of where I would reside, the moment my eyes spotted Quebec, I was like, ‘God forbid’.

POST AOR
I think this was the most trying period frankly because I was so anxious, you know expecting that the PPR will be offered very soon. Biometrics came in 13 days later and I really felt there was progress. But I was always reading the comments from various groups omo it seems like there are some people just there to cause anxiety with all their theories.
I just decided to stay calm and just keep counting days. However, I changed jobs and moved on to a logistics company. I think that was one of the worst mistakes I made post AOR. It was supposed to be a big role with a fair salary but omo the way of working there was just crazy it was as bad as the owner dey insult staff, slap staff and owes them money like mad. Again this lead to so much anxiety leading to another overwhelming expectation of PPR. I no lie before a month, I had to resign from there before I lost my mind.
Moved on to a new place smaller in size, no staff insults or hot slaps from the owner. Unfortunately, the pay was far less but omo peace of mind was paramount for my frankly. It was more of a one man start up business with a lot of prospects, you know so many young people very welcoming environment. It was quite tasking as I had to do all the accounting, cleaning up the company books and all. It was a bit of a distraction from the PPR expectation.
I also added teaching of ICAN courses to the mix make money dey enter while I sharpen my skills. I had already been teaching ACCA after passing all the papers.
PPR came in on 9th January by 10:56pm while I was trying to sleep and omo the joy was quite immeasurable. I couldn’t believe it. Frankly I thought it would take the six months that IRCC said. Especially when I could see more of Indians, getting the PPR in 2 – 3 month.

Many thanks for all the support recieved from you guys here. If i had used nairaland in 2015 for student visa, perhaps the outcome would have been different.

Points to note:
Don't underestimate the power of your prayers and faith.( I wrote this testimony before the PPR was out)
Kindly make sure your documents are as easy as possible for the the guys on the other end to assess.
Have a very open mind on this journey.
Don't get bugged down when you don't see ghosts
The info on nairaland is more than sufficient
Unfortunately we need to invest more in increasing our scores 8,7,7,7 won't quite cut it anymore.
Please o when you make up your mind to get on this journey, kindly be in good terms with your employer, HR manager as the case maybe they can be a major stumbling block

Finally, I give God all the glory for making this possible
My parents who encouraged me during the IELTS trauma.

All the best guys.

Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 9 by adanac13: 2:03pm On Dec 11, 2019

Amen. grin

For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to reside out of this country. I can remember as a teenager praying that I get to study abroad and when that didnt happen. I prayed that I will marry a man who was favorably disposed to abroad‍♀️... oh well as fate would have it I got married to a Nigerian Fan. In 2017, I got married and immediately began to talk to DH about relocating but hubby wanted nothing of that nature with his comments "Nigeria will be better" "too much money to be made here" me sef I resigned to my fate and continued existing as I was before.

Fastforward to 2018, it was time to give birth to our daugther and hubbys bro (American citizen) somehow convinced us of the importance to have the American pally for her...Me I gladly accepted and encouraged hubby. He accepted too but said I should go by myself... I norh gree ohh, I kindda pleaded and eventually he accepted to follow me and also make it a mini vacation and family reunion - Hubby's only siblings are both American citizens and had not been to Nigeria for a while.

April 2018 was when we arrived Houston to birth our daughter and may I say the rest is history.... we were still in Houston when hubby came to the realization that what we had been doing in Nigeria, to put it midly is nothing but slavery and toiling.

PRE express entry

We got back to base in June 2018 and immediately commenced the relocation process. Money was very tight at the time? Inshort we were at zero so we planned initially that hubbys bro will file for us to relocate to the US but then we thought of Canada and decided to ply that route since it seemed quicker and more straightforward. We decided to take it one step at a time. I am younger, have worked in a Bank for 8 years and have 2 siblings in Canada hence it was decided that I will be the PA. Around the same time, someone in a work WhatsApp group informed us that he was relocating to Canada. I immediately became a pest to him. Chatting and asking endless questions. After many questions, he directed me to this forum and the rest they say is history.

IELTS

We worte our first IELTS in August 2018 (BC) and it was a disaster. LRWS
Mine : 6.5,8,6.5,7.5
Hubby's: 8,8.5,6,7

We immediatly registered for the next exam in September (IDP/MOD) and to God be all the glory the results came out and it was

Mine: 8.5,9,7,8
Hubby's: 8,8.5,7,7.5

This was our first major victory and at the time we had began to realize from this forum and the personal experiences of others that the exams was not just "another English exams" So you can imagine our excitement when we passed at the second sitting. On the day the result was to be out, I went to IDP office in PHC to pick up our result (JJC like me) and was directed to comeback in the next one week. That night I couldnt rest, I kept refreshing the browser and after what seemed like a million times to my greatest surprise, the results came up, immediately I saw that I had passed, I screamed and danced round the house while my little daughter watched in glee... I then checked hubby's own and he passed too and our joy was complete.

Below are some tips which we adopted and which might help...

Writing: We basically used Liz paid videos to study for writing and some random videos online. We downloaded the actual exam sheet and practised with timed sessions and past questions found online. Hubby marked my work and vise versa. As per bragging rights, we looked out for the person with the most errors and as such, our marking was quite intense. Becos of work, I transferred all Liz writing videos/lessons to my phone and was always listening to them on the go.

Reading: Hubby downloaded over 25 reading questions from youtube and we took turns timing ourselvse to answer the questions. He also did major research and got several tips on answering reading questions. To speak the truth, reading was never a problem for us.

Listening: As with reading, hubby downloaded a lot of timed listening sessions from youtube with which we practised together. We got better over time. If you practise listening enough you will eventually become very good at it if not a pro.

Speaking: These were funs sessions for hubby and I. We downloaded a diverse range of speaking question from Liz page and took turns examining each other while recording the entire sessions after which we replayed it and criticized. We practised all the likely questions so as to avoid surprises at the actual exam. As God will have it, this paid off

Advice: To ace IELTS, you ought to study and be extremely dedicated. I was a firsttime exclusive nursing working mother with no help at home. It was quite tedious having to study and take care of a brand new baby not to talk about work stress as a Bank marketer. But I ensured I spent at least 3 hours every day studying. Somedays we got to sleep by 2am and by 5:30am I will be awake getting ready for work. It wasnt easy but it was sure worth it. I also used the free materials provided by IDP/MOD and it helped a lot.

DIVING INTO THE POOL

At the time, the scores were hovering between 440-442. Our score was at 442- without hubby's wes - so immediately my wes evaluation was complete, we created our profile and dived into the pool. With the hope of ITA in the Nov.14th 2018 draw. Alas the draw delayed and I typed my first message in this forum seeking encouragement and @Ifeoma77 responded (God bless the soul of that damsel). Draws were eventually held and the scores shot up from 442 to 449. I was heartbroken to say the least. Birthday was on 18th and we lost 5 points.

ECA

I personally did all the waka for this one. Hubby and I finished from the same university so I started the process for both of us which was kindda smooth except for hubby verification which took over 3weeks and greasing palms for it to go through. WAEC for me was pretty straightforward, I enlisted the assistance of a friend cos we reside in PHC. Pouched all the requirements to her and she submitted on my behalf. About a week later, l saw notification of receipt on my wes dashboard. Hubby's neco was however a big pain and caused unprecedented delays. First whoever sent the parcel from Minna made an error, maybe he didnt seal or stamp it but anyways wes rejected his neco document and we insisted that it was resent at no additional cost to us (bad idea) cos wes eventually acknowledged reciept and sent verification but for whatever reason the verification was never recieved by neco. I pleaded with the man and even offered to give him back the money he used to resend the document but for wia. He kept saying that he had not seen the verification mail. This lingered from August to November. Everyone in neco PHC became my friend. It was a relief when one of the staff informed us that if we send a scratch card to wes it could suffice for the verification. The next day we spent about N20k to courier ordinary scratch card and the next week wes acknowledged reciept. Husband's wes was completed in January after I had lost 5 points due to age.

ITA

...After hubbys wes was concluded, our scores shot up to 445 and we prayed for ITA. ITA strolled in unseemingly on 23rd Jan 2019. Got home from work and saw a notification in my mail. Immediately checked the scores for the day and when I saw 443, I knew that ITA was locked down. We were excited but not compared to IELTS excitement.

DOCUMENTATION

Proof of employment:
• Reference Letter: As is expected with Nigerian Banks, they refused to give me the Reference letter in IRCC format so I asked them to give me the regular embassy reference which had my Job role, annual renumeration, employment date and name.
I also attached the underlisted
• Mail trail with HR where my request for a reference letter in IRCC format was rejected
• Court affidavit of facts stating my duties / responsibilities
• Employment letter
• Comfirmation letter
• Promotion letter and
• Account statement - 3 months salary was highlighted

POF:

The US trip ate into our savings so hubby's bro gifted us 50% while the other 50% was savings from hubby and I. We attached
• Bank account leter in CIC format stating actual balances and dates account were established amongst other information.
• Notorized Gift deed from Hubby's bro signed by him and the notary public (sample was gotten from page one and goggle). Please note that I did major adjustments to the one on page one because I just felt it wasnt wise to use same document word for word. Moreso, I have heard of cases where the gift deed was rejected maybe because so many people have used the exact same format. Please note that everything on page one is a guide and should not be copied verbatim in my opinion though
• Dollar statement showing inflow of dollars from hubbys bro.
• Statement of account showing conversion of the dollar at bank rate and movement of same alongside existing funds into treasury bills
• Treasury bills investment letter ( funds were invested for 6 months)

MEDICALS

I did not have strenght for QLife. I personally think they are extremely rude and have no value for customers. So we jejely used IOM.

Because we reside in PHC and the work factor, we had to plan for a convenient time to do the medicals. Luckily for us, a day before the scheduled medicals, I was asked to visit one of our clients in Lagos and thats how we all travelled and killed 2 birds with one stone.
The day before my medicals, the red lady decided to visit and as such i had to redo my urine analysis meaning I had to travel to Lagos after 2 weeks to have it done. This one pain me sha but thank God it ended in praise.

PCC: Immediately after the said meeting, we went to officer Moshood and did the PCC for N5k each.

Sibling Points: We attached

Hydro bills, PR card, drivers licence, Gas bills.

To prove sibling relationship, I attached our birth certificates (not NPC attestaion) and international passport showing same surname. (This one gave me worry but I dedicated a whole session for my worries and how God came through)

Passport photograph: This was done at studio 24. We took soft copy and hard copies (waste of funds)

We attached marriage certificate as proof of marriage

IELTS, ECA, WAEC, neco, university certificate for education.

N/B: pre ITA we had filled several work experiences for hubby but after ITA during submission we discovered that he would have to provide proof for all the job experiences- too much work for what didnt give us points so we asked our second question on this forum. We were advised again by @ifeoma77 and others to move work experence to personal history. I was scared and actually contemplated declining ITA cos of this. Thank God We didnt cos scores are yet to get down to 445 since that period (another birthday is around the corner)... God indeed was watching over us.

Before filling our forms, we held hands (including our smally) and prayed that God should take control and guide us.

We sha filled the post ITA forms, attached all documents, paid our RPRF as well as other fees and submitted -AOR 10th March - same day as submission

We joined a couple of WhatsApp groups post AOR and it made the wait easier because we were able to compare timelines for MEP and BIL. BIL came as at when due - 26th April and we concluded same on 2nd May (Had to take permission from the office again). Checked our profile same day and BIL was updated already.

The wait...

What can I say. I believed I had put in a good linear application so my expectation was that PPR will show before two month but hey it didnt happen. June came and I spent every waking hour thinking about our application. Was there something I did wrong, did I omit a document etc...so on 17th June about 3 month post AOR I asked my brother to order GCMS notes on my behalf which he did... GCMS came about one month later and nothing had started. Only criminality passed, info sharing was not even complete.

Sometime in June, I read the story of a lady who was rejected cos she didnt submit sufficient documents to prove sibling relationship and that began a phase of worry for me. I reached out to the lady but wasnt satisfied with our discussion so I reached out to @Topsmamen (we all know he is a great guy so I wont bore you with the stories of how awesome he was to me and all the assistance he offered selflessly). After our discussion I immediately did the attestaion of birth for my brother and I , did a slide show of pictures taken over the years raised a webform and submitted it. We got an acknowledgement about a week later.

After this, I called IRCC about 3 times and it was always the same story, criminality passed, eligibility and security not started...

I raised my first CSE for status update sometime in June and the response was heartbreaking. They said our application will experience delays because of additional verifications. About a month later, I sent a mail to MP Hussein and his response made me feel worse...He referred to the previous mail from CSE and reiterated that our application will experience delays. He further stated stuffs about the integrity of the process and how they have to check with several security agents both in Canada and other countries...I began to wonder if we had committed any crimes especially as info sharing refused to be completed. Moreso freelance online review of info sharing cases revealed that some can remain uncompleted for several months or even years... Hmmmm, I shudder at the thought of this.

After this I kindda gave CIC a break and didnt inquire as to the status of our application anymore.

...However, sometime in September, hubby read another story about a guy and his wife who were both turned back during landing because he failed to add his wife's child as a dependent under his own application. This gave us another bout of worry because in our own application, we unknowingly omitted our step siblings. We feared that this might be termed misrepresentation and once again we came to sample the opinion of this wonderful family. The suggestions were diverse but we eventually decided that we would do the right thing and correct the error just for conscience sake. We however feared that the correction might delay our application because at the time some March cases were being processed. But hey we still went ahead and submitted form 5406 I think, a very compassionate LOE and update proof of funds. A week later on 30th September, we recieved acknowledgement of reciept.

We planned that immediately we recieved an acknowledgement, we would give a little bit of time and then send a mail to Ralph for status update but it so happened that on 1st October a lady in one of the Post ITA groups on WhatzApp who has same AOR as ours shared the response she received from Ralph. Eligibility was recommended passed etc. This prompted us to use our one and only lifeline for Ralph. I sent the mail at about 7pm and by a few minutes past 7pm I got a response " Criminality (Biometrics) passed, Eligibility and Security not started. To say I was devastated is an understatement. I cried and was depressed, had bad dreams all through the night. I researched to try and understand why common criminality (info sharing) was not complete and the chances of it being completed in due time. Moreso, the mail from CIC telling me that our application will experience delays just kept resounding in my mind... TBH, I had a million fears and worries about what issues could be going on in the background. In short I had never been in a position like that where I was unable to take any actions and had no one to reach out to. This process taught me a great deal of patience.

... So after this, life continued but to tell you the truth I just couldnt focus on anything. The bad dreams continued, my mind had left work a long time ago. I was fed up with everything Nigeria. The Canada PR had become everything to me. I spent the better portion of my time at work on whatapp groups...may I say my performance was at an all time low but thank God I was in the first stages of pregnancy so my boss kindda took that as the reason for low performance and all.

My Testimony...

...After about two days of being depressed I read a story on one of the WhatsApp group where one lady with Jan AOR whose PPR was delayed had to pray it out after being depressed for a long time. She even went as far as praying for a PPR drought until hers was released and it worked for her. I sha shared the story with hubby and immediately he took the same stance with the lady and that was how our prayers started on Thursday just two days after the negative status update from Ralph. Hubby and I prayed like our lives depended on the PPR (cos it actually did). On Thursday night/Friday morning just after our prayers, I logged into our profile and saw the very first ghost update. Took screenshots of it just to be sure I wasnt hallucinating, shared it on my WhatsApp group and congratulations started pouring in. Me sha I was skeptical and just kept my fingers crossed. We continued our prayer the next day after which I logged in and again saw another ghost update - see God!!! I could not contain my joy not because I knew for sure that PPR was coming but because at least something was going on on our application. This was on Saturday morning.

Our prayers continued and on Monday I was on the PC at home trying to respond to a whistle blowing from a customer. Hubby was by my side just gisting and giving me moral support whilst using his phone. After a while he tapped me and he was like see ooo and showed me a mail sent to my email address on his phone. Immediately I saw "Ready for Visa/Pret pour Visa" everything turned to slow motion. Nothing mattered anymore, I was in total awe of God's kindness and the speed with which everything turned around. I was baffled and perplexed, I jumped up to the room to get my phone and check my mail to be sure DH wasnt playing some kind of prank saw the mail sitting pretty in my inbox. We were just jumping and thanking God...our daughter was just there following us about trying to comprehend what was going on. I was just screaming and saying "So I finally get to leave the Bank work finally" this was the highlight for me... a big weight just dropped off my entire being and so many thing that mattered hitherto didnt matter anymore. It was truly an amazing experience and I wish and pray that everyone desiring same recieves it soon IJN.

...We thereafter called select family member and told them the good news...

Stencil:

I did some simulations with the information you provided using the CRS Tool. I assumed that you've worked for 3 years and would score 8777 (LRWS)

If he does not write IELTS - You Score 437
If he writes IELTS and scores 8777 - You Score 457

wes is the only evaluation body that requires WAEC. You dont need WAEC if you have a foreign MSc. Page one has more information on this.

See this. Page one too.

Thanks so much Stencil.
I don't have a foreign masters. Only hubby does, and he doesn't have WAEC, but neco, its same thing I supose. So if we're using wes, they won't require his neco?

Decision to Travel
Guys, I’ve seen people who are living la vida loca in this country, houses on point, top notch jobs and careers, flying from one country to the other for vacation, summer, and Christmas. They have their family support system around and can enjoy all the Ofada rice and bokotor that their hearts (and stomachs) can contain. Them get two head I always believed that there was money to be made here and that it was better to hustle here than go be a second class citizen in another man’s country. So you can imagine how unwilling I was to commence this journey.
First I heard of the Canadian Permanent Residence program was in 2012 through a senior colleague who just upped and resigned. Ahhhhh brother show me the way! He gave me the contact of his Canadian immigration lawyer who asked me to go and learn French. Shooooo, se na by force? Then in 2016, another friend told me about the express entry process saying he just spoke to some immigration consultant in Lekki and that it had been improved upon. Really? Oya guy, give me the number sharply! I called and the consultant explained the process, asked some questions and said I was qualified. All I had to do was write IELTS and pay for their services. Tor, how much? Oga started calling million million, imagine, in this economy? Commot for road jare.
Then my baby sister processed her admission to a Canadian university and stumbled on this thread in the process. Baby girl started to disturb my life, just check it out naaaa. I said laye, who has time to be reading for English exam. Omo, the day I went to drop her off at the airport, my eyes cleared. I said ok, this is the condition – I’ll write the IELTS. If I pass on the first trial that means I’m meant to do this.

IELTS
Thank God I hadn’t visited the thread, my heart for cut! I registered for the exam and studied using the online resources only. Practiced my listening, reading and speaking. Two days to the exam, I realised I would have to write 2 essays. Yekpa! Ran to YouTube, and checked out the band 9 videos, what were the rules? Learnt what I could and left the rest to God. It was when I got to the centre that I realised this was some serious ishhhhh! People were rewriting for the umpteenth time, Father! I just put my head down, did my best using the rules I had learnt and the result came out great on the first trial. That meant I was in, no retreat no surrender. On to the next.

ECA
I finally came to the thread in Part 6 and read all the way from part 1 – part 6. Saved the different pertinent information I got on word documents and created an EE folder on my laptop. I used wes and evaluated my MBA. This process almost frustrated me. My transcript plug in OAU Ife turned out to be a fraudster who had been sacked for eating peoples’ monies for transcript, N28k went down the drain. No problem, we move. Got someone else who finally processed it for me. I sent my neco certificate using the info I got from the thread, it was very straight forward. Unfortunately, the guy at the Abuja office told me he had no input with when it was going to be sent from Minna and I was on my own. Got another contact for Minna from the thread, called and he was asking for plenty money like that. By then, my patience and pocket was running low. I refused to send anything, las las wes acknowledged receipt and I got my report after Christmas. 4 full months after!
I created my EE profile after the jaiye jaiye on the 2nd of January (as per New Year resolution things). Thank God for @Newmum0615, all the different questions she answered and points she made helped me select my NOC and prepare my reference letter. With CRS at 456, I got ITA on 10th January.

MEDICALS

I got the details for IOM Abuja from the thread and sent a mail on 11th. I was given an appointment for 22nd which was fine and gave me time to prepare myself. Everything went smoothly, doctors were friendly though a bit slow.

PCC
A friend whom I found out had gotten his PPR gave me a contact in Abuja. She came to my office to collect the fingerprints and brought the certificate to me when it was ready. Paid N15k

POF
I did a 6 month Treasury bill investment with First Bank, attached my bank statement for 6 months showing the outflow for the treasury bills as well as a reference letter. I scanned all of this as one document titled Proof of Funds (learnt this from the thread as well).

WORK EXPERIENCE

I had just changed jobs (different NOCs) and decided to use my previous job NOC. This one gave me headache oh and took a lot of time! Those who worked in Bank Operations know you don’t have a job function for an extended period of time. Finally found a job description on the thread that mirrored mine and got my reference in the CIC format. Also got a reference letter from my current employer. I scanned my previous job reference letter, previous job offer letter, confirmation letter, present job reference letter, offer letter, confirmation letter and one payslip as one document titled Proof of Work Experience. Both reference letters had the business cards of the supervisors attached.
For application submission, I used a dollar card as I didn’t want stories that touch. AOR February 22.

POST AOR
Medicals and BIL took almost 40days which was not the trend at the time. Finally Medicals passed and Biometrics given at VFS Abuja. I also got the process from the thread (See ehn, God go bless all of una, both the contributor and the contributee. Una try well well). Biometrics was uploaded same day. Then the waiting started.
See those Indian people, dem can give person heart attack. Just as they were discussing IP1 and IP2, I logged on to my profile to find out it had changed to IP1. Same day, @Joo2018 gave a dissertation on what that meant, I wanted to cry! But I encouraged myself in the Lord, of course my case is different!!! I had pasted on my laptop sticky notes, a PPR story that had a 28th Nov AOR and by 18th February had collected his passport. Every morning, I’ll look at it then check immitracker to see the trend.

Silence! Like, my profile did not shake. No ghost updates, no ADRs, nothing. Someone will ask a question here and I’ll start second guessing everything I did/uploaded. Someone asked another question and @Ladymarshall gave such a robust response that I decided to PM her. Told her my head was turningoninown and I needed to know what to focus on with regards to my preparations for the Canny life. People, that woman is sound! She gave me a workable list of things to focus on and my brain stopped doing gbish gbish. Anytime I was feeling some kind of way, I went back to that mail. Thanks babes. God bless you big time.
I raised a CSE after 3 months (found the process on the thread) to find out my Visa Office, Ottawa. Ok nah. I had no plans to request for GCMS notes, Team @Ifeoma77!!!
Silence. 4th Month, 5th Month, processing time exceeded 22nd August, 2019. It became real mehn. Sent a mail to Ralph’s office (found the email and format on the thread) on Friday to find out status. Was just antsy all weekend, couldn’t focus on anything. Monday still no change, Tuesday morning, raised another CSE stating that normal processing time had exceeded blah blah. Wasn’t satisfied so I finally buckled and requested for GCMS notes through my sister. Still wasn’t satisfied oh, told her to call on my behalf - Technical issues. If I hear it! Try again jare. She finally spoke to an agent who told her background checks was still ongoing but there were no issues with my file. This was already past 8pm. I grudgingly told her thank you.
I still couldn’t relax, couldn’t sleep. This PPR thing ehn! I switched off my data and played Candy crush on my phone from 9pm to 1:44 am, still no sleep. I was like wait oh, na this time PPR mail dey drop make I check again. Switched on my data and pampam, Ready for Visa Mail!!!! You can guess how the rest of the night went.
First thing this morning, VFS Abuja to submit my passport (found the process on the thread) before they change their mind.

I promised myself every time I checked the thread to read PPR stories that I was going to pay it forward, so I apologize for the length of this report. Had to reactivate my profile to post this.
Newbies I kept repeating “found the process on the thread” because of the repetitive questions for issues that have already been answered severally. Questions are welcome as long as they add to the general body of knowledge not repetitive questions that just serve to clog up the conversation. Please take time to read through, save pertinent information in formats that are easily accessible to you and this process will become really easy to you.
Thank you to the MVPs who keep answering questions and help make this process less stressful. God is waiting for you guys in the Mapleland. The blessings in store for you ehn….. God bless you real good.
It has ended in praise.

Congratulations to you

PPR 15 July, 2019

For someone who benefited immensely from reading other people's detailed PPR stories, I'd be back with the detailed gist.

Desicion to travel
I have always been about not starting a family in this country as I do not see what the future holds for those that do not belong to the political class. I realized I have to give my future kids the opportunities that come with growing up in a sane environment. Knowing that I can, they may not forgive me if I fail to give them the opportunity to live abroad. I mean, my parents strived so hard to give me the opportunities they never had, I shouldn't do less for my future kids. To my unborn kids, I hope I can look back to this day with so much joy and fulfilment.
So, on 3rd August 2018, I felt the time was ripe to begin the journey.

Pre ITA

ECA: I used wes - Two or more Certificates. I initially wanted to evaluate my BSc (3 years) and ATS. Discussed with some people around me, I was told misinformed that wes would not give me the desired evaluation if I don't have an OND. Since I didn't know otherwise, and I have an OND, I removed ATS and added OND. About the time I created my account, wes had just introduced Secondary education as a requirement. Getting the BSc transcript was straightforward as my school uses Etx. Verification took some time though. For secondary education, I used neco. I documented the steps here as I was part of the first set of people that evaluated neco. I think result confirmation is now 5k... I paid 1k then. Verification dragged for weeks as there appeared to be a lack of understanding on what was required. Eventually, wes introduced the use of scratch card for verification. For my OND, getting the transcript was very fast, but wes "rejected" my SoR because it has course grades. Requested for my certificate from the school which I then sent to wes. I documented my struggles here and here. This delayed my ECA for about 3 months.
To the misinformation I mentioned earlier. When my OND evaluation was taking too long, I reached out to a friend to vent my anger. I was shocked when he told me wes evaluated his BSc (3 years) and ATS as two or more certs. Other friends also got similar evaluation. Let me state that we all used ATS to get direct entry into the university.
My point here is, wes evaluates BSc (either 3 years or 4 years) with OND/ATS as two or more certs.

IELTS
Sigh! It was a struggle. My first test was a missed opportunity to have passed IELTS once. Does it matter today? No. My approach to Writing clearly wasn't good. I never for once practised any essay or letter writing. Why? I find it difficult to come up with ideas during practice tests. I struggled with listening because of map questions. After I saw my 3rd IELTS result on Dec 28th, I noticed an arithmetic progression in my listening test results... 7.5,7,6.5. Prior to my 4th and final IELTS, there had been map questions in the other three. I did some trend analysis with the six tests conducted between October to December, and on the basis I assumed there wouldn't be listening map questions in the first test in January. Not to be dampened by past failures (eyes on the prize) and the little time between Dec 28th and Jan 5th to prepare, I quickly registered with MOD. Luck smiled on me, the listening test had no map questions. Reading went well. Hmmm, Writing was something else as I didn't complete the conclusion paragraph. I had my speaking test same day and it went well. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the result, LRWS 8.5,8,7,8. An unreligious me started singing praises… to God be the Glory. With CRS standing at 460, I received ITA on Jan 23rd.

POST ITA

Medicals: Upon getting ITA, I mailed both Qlife and IOM. Decided to go with IOM because they gave me a shorter time frame.

PCC: Inspector Moshood came through. I gave him 5k though he asked for 7k… told him that was the amount I saw on Nairaland. tongue

POF: God came through for me. POF was a gift deed of N3m from my sister. I think I got away with something here, or maybe it never mattered. By virtue of my workplace, I requested for a T-bill run for the day from my colleague in Treasury, saw the market rates and decided to buy a 9-month T-bill. The face value of my investment went up to N3.36m from N3m. Why did I do this? I needed the interest to shore up my POF. I know people here always caution against doing investments that mature after 6 months, but I did it anyway. Got Stanbic Pension to write a reference letter that I can access 25% of my pension balance. I also got a letter from the bank in CIC format, stating my 6-month average account balance and the T-bill investment. Prepared a gift deed which I notarized. I wrote an LOE with a breakdown of the POF using the exchange rate on XE for the day and a screenshot from Xe.com. So I submitted the LOE, Bank’s reference letter, Pension’s reference letter, T-bill certificate and gift deed.
Sidebar, I am requesting for a new GCMS notes. I am interested in the observations of the case officer/analyst on my POF. If I see anything untoward, even though it matters little, I’d be here to share it.

Work Experience: Researched job adverts for my role online to see the job responsibilities. Compared the functions with what I do and made some modifications to my job functions. I sent this to my manager for approval and forwarded same to HR to prepare the reference letter. In addition to the work reference letter, I included employment letter, confirmation letter and 6 months pay slips.
For application submission, I paid using sterling bank card as the bank offered the cheapest rate at the time. I still think their rate remains the cheapest. I naturally don’t like filling forms, so despite that I have a US visa refusal, I didn’t fill Schedule A. AOR Feb 18.

POST AOR

Medical passed and biometrics given in April.
Raised a CSE to include details of membership of professional bodies
Raised a CSE to find out about my visa office and followed up with a call. Visa office was Ottawa.
Requested for GCMS notes on June 10, notes generated June 12 and received July 11. Criminality passed, Info sharing in progress, Eligibility and Security not started. I felt frustrated with the slow pace of my application and at different times I thought of withdrawing my application (yinmu undecided). Discussed the notes content with a colleague who consoled me that a lot could have happened between when the Notes was generated and now. Well, it turned out to be the case as I got a ghost update on Saturday morning. The palpitations on seeing the update no be here. I became so restless and super excited at the same time. Fast forward to Monday, I quickly subscribed to Skype so I could call CIC. Got through in the evening after a few tries, the call rep mentioned that my application was approved on Friday and she said her congratulations. Got the golden mail on Monday night… it has ended started in praise.

I dedicate this PPR to everyone who has shared their timeline here. To the guys who continually update Page 1 with links, from previous threads to this, you all deserve an accolade. I once asked Joo2018 (God bless you bro) a question on using only T-bill certificate for POF, he answered my question but also referred me to read people’s PPR timelines. That was the eye opener for me as I read every single PPR timeline shared on NL prior to my AOR. So much knowledge hidden in those timelines. Passport submitted on Monday, thanks to the guide on Page 1.

I pray we all find favour in our application.

I will be back with another timeline…

Diavolo:
Good morning house, I'm a doctor who's planning on entering the express entry program. My issue is that I have an error on my waec result, the date of birth isn't correct and the time and process to rectify is much. So meaning I can't use wes for my ECA. Is it advisable for me to use ICES who don't require weac instead or rather sort out the issue and use wes.

Another option is neco if you wrote the exam then.

Please note that it doesn't necessarily have to be what you used to gain admission

Diploma+BSC could be evaluated as two or more certs by wes based on previous sucesses but I am not sure about Uniben’s diploma, perhaps other Uniben alumni who are more informed on it could respond more authoritatively.

Are you asking if a Bachelors degree in Engineering would be evaluated as a Masters degree? Why would you think so? Or perhaps I misread the question. Engineering is not evaluated as a professional degree for EE application tho.

I appreciate your response. Thank you. I shall channel all of my energy into reading part 1 then. With regards to the latter, it was a wrong interpretation of some other information. I shall contact Avidreader748 too.. Thanks

you do not need a lagos contact for neco everything will be processed in Minna
their website is also very functional too so you can call the contact numbers on there
all you need to apply
1) buy 2 neco scratch cards
2) use one of the cards to generate your neck result from the website and print (at least 2 copies)
3) write a letter to neco requesting that your statement of result be forwarded to your desired destination
4) now if you are sending to wes be sure to quote your reference number and clearly write out their address also state that you are enclosing in the envelop a second scratch card to for posted along with their response to wes
5) Go to remita website and select neco to make payment
6) now choose your courier service (I used DHL to enable me track the movement, you can also use the tracking number on the envelop addressed to wes on the wes website)
7) buy two courier bags first one should be addressed from you to neco Minna (enclose in that one the printed statement of result and your application letter and proof of payment on remita(government payment platform)
cool then the second envelop must be addressed to wes from neco the second neco scratch card should be inside this envelop
9) then post to neco
10) cost 30k+

PS: for 7 above I received a call from a neco staff telling me I under paid and needed to add 4k, he gave me the option on going back to remita and paying of sending the money to him to make the payment there at their office. It was a risk I had to take cos having to post that one again would cost me another 4k+ so i took the chance. Luckily the guy made the payment and sent me a photo of my receipt grin.

Don't worry its not stressful don't be intimidated by the long post

Infact let me add the response from neco

Do find below the procedure for result confirmation.

Apply for confirmation of result, the fee of which is 1,050 Naira payable into the National Examinations Council's Treasury Single Account (TSA), payment of which can only be made in Nigeria. Attach the original copy of the payment receipt and an online copy of your result to your letter of request for result confirmation. You are to submit via speed post/courier service delivery directly to the following:

· OFFICE OF THE REGISTRAR,
· NATIONAL EXAMINATIONS COUNCIL,
· KILOMETER 8, BIDA ROAD, MINNA,
· NIGER STATE.

· Please note: you are to make provisions for the posting of the result confirmation to the destination school/institution, by including a self-paid speed-post return envelope, already addressed to the recipient, as this will facilitate quick delivery. Also, note that you need to indicate the recipient in your application as we do not give confirmed results to candidates directly.

For details regarding payment into TSA account, kindly contact the Account section of any neco office nearest to you.
