It doesnt take much to see how the contest would end. Local politics in places like Oyo, Ondo, Kano, Sokoto, Imo, that have turned people away from their governors is what gave Atiku some boost. Over 4million gap between Buhari and Atiku. Now, imagine that people of Oyo, Ondo, Kano, Sokoto, Imo did not have issues at local level and had voted in line with APC....that gap would be close to 7million.

When Wike sidelined SW and made the statement about SW looking for harvest where it did not sow, and then they picked VP from SE and began a PR that Jennifer was the most befitting for First Lady if Atiku won, I knew Ibos were positioning to hijack Atiku administration like they did GEJ and a repeat of SW marginalization was loading. OGD was definitely short changed after the PDP presidential primary. He won the ticket for Atiku but the party hawks that he fought on behalf of Atiku turned against him and ensured he was sidelined for Saraki. Saraki eventually led a shambolic campaign that saw eight people emerge as campaign spokesperson. The party was roundly beaten and the rest is now history.

We welcome OGD to APC. He is an omoluabi who just happened to have wandered to PDP in search of political power. Since Nigeria’s politics is devoid of principle and ideology, nobody should blame him for retracing his steps. Leaving the dying PDP at this point is a good decision.

As a southerner any of us still thinking that power will return to the south come 2023 is daydreaming. From the look of things the north is strategising on how to hold unto power beyond 2023. President bubu doesn't give a Bleep on what happens to APC governors and their reelection bid, just as he's shown during the electioneering campaign where many APC state chapters were engulfed by controversies. A good leader who'd like the party to survive after him would have waded in and save APC from collapsing in some states. But so long as the whole factions were rooting for his reelection, he openly enjoined the electorates to vote any candidate of their choice while voting him for presidency which in other words a campaign against the state chapter of APC, he allowed to saga to linger in fear of stepping the toes of some party bigwigs which could be injurious to his reelection bid which in turn cost some APC governors their reelections. He played alongside what ever tinubu has to say to make sure he didn't lose his support and the only notable achievement tinubu with his political sagacity could record was making sure he retrieve Kwara state from the firm grip of saraki. As it stands now PDP is likely to take Kano, Bauchi, Benue, Sokoto, Plataea, rivers and Adamawa which will place them at the driving seat come 2023 especially if they field a northern candidate, I foresee APC being a south western party when buhari finishes his tenure and before that, northern realignments would have made north a PDP region once again while tinubu will be left alone with his southwestern party (APC) to try his luck. we might be more educated and enlightened down south but when it comes to politics (shiaharaya ndi ugwu) give it to the north. Yorubas will be the biggest loser of this Buhari's reelection and tinubu will be cut into pieces.
