Travel / Re: Swedish Study Permit Refusal Please Advice by Sebastine1606(m): 11:02pm On Aug 08, 2019
I don't know how soon this is, but research is all that matters, he should do a little bit of research, get a lawyer and challenge the decision, if necessary too, HE should contact the school if he can, that way it will be best for him

LGDON:
Hello everyone.

I am very confident that I will get some advice here

A friend of mine was refused study permit visa in Sweden embassy Abuja few days ago. He has paid tuition fee, accommodation etc. Yet they refused him the resident permit.

The reasons given was:

He could not demonstrate enough knowledge about the program he is going to study.. Here they asked him on the interview date to list the courses he will study.
He was able to list 2, they concluded that 2 is not enough. Atleast he should have listed 4.

They asked him about the city he going to study, he could not give satisfactory answer.

They asked him about Sweden, though he mentioned somethings about Sweden and answered the question. The migrationsverket concluded that he gave partial answer.

Lastly, they said he couldn't demonstrate how the program will benefit him after study. He said on the interview that he would return to his join and apply the knowledge to build his current place of work.

But later on the interview they asked the same question again, he wasn't consistent. He said he will establish a business after his study. The migrationsverket concluded he wasn't consistent and he is not sure of how the program will benefit him.

I want to help him appeal the decision and I need advice from my fellow nairaland. Please, if you have seen a situation like this you can assist me and contribute.

He has up to 16th of September to resume school.

Thanks

Good morning house

Lady G I need your help with this one
I'm so confused right now
I went for my interview yesterday but it didn't go well
This is my second interview
I asked the VO reason for denial and he confirmed my IV was fake
He said I can apply again but I'd have to explain the fake invite
Apparently our HR did not pay for the conference I'm supposed to attend and generated a fake IV he's currently on leave/on the run.(investigation is on-going).
I and two of my other colleagues were denied UK visas for a training last year because of his negligence
I have also lost out on a contract because of this same guy.
This man is trying to bring me down(He can't succeed)
Pls I need your advice on how to handle future applications although I don't intend applying anytime soon.
How do I put my integrity back in check for future applications with the U.S embassy

This looks a little/private firm, else things like this shouldn't be coming up at all, if it's a big organization
But on the other hand you are the one going for the interview, if he had made you not to be approved for UK visas with your colleague, that should have rang a bell of alarm

Thank you for the advice. I know that invitation letters are not asked from Applicants in most cases. Even so, my host to be wants to send an IV to the US govt.

My question is

1. Should it be sent to Abuja or Lagos?
or
2. Any other approved US govt Agency in USA?

Anyone who have an idea of anything like this should please tell me. I am aware that they don't ask for Invitation letter from applicants, however in this case my host to be wants to send a copy to them

Should be your interviewing consulate

OK OK, my people I need your guidance and prayers too

I'm scheduled for 7th Of November 7:30am interview at Abuja. I'm a final year student going to see my cousin who has been my backbone in school without seeing me in person, finally she wants me to come for Christmas holidays and new year so she will get to see whom she has been paying school fees for. She's a citizen, born and brought up there with 2kids, I really want to see this my aunty, she's so nice and I wouldn't want interview to screw my chances of playing nice boy to her so she will be happy her money didn't waste while training me,

Am suppose travel 13th of December and return 27th of Feb if granted, abeg my people what are my chances because I have been following this thread since and hearing people saying 'ties' me I don't have any tie, I'm a full time blown student, never travelled before neither worked anywhere,

Advice me pls, because I filled in my form 'Student' as honest answer, and I'm 24yrs old, is there any problem on my own case? Advice me pls everybody here both small and big, I need your advice, dont forget to add your prayers for me behind

I love the honesty in you and enthusiasm, but the bitter truth is that America has a guided law that operates and binds all true Americans, if you can't fulfill your end of the bargain, which is your "ties", it may be a bit difficult to get the visa
But then, am not God, I wish you success

Hello house, I greet u all.

My family intend to visit a family friend in US this December. Our invitation letter has been sent to us via email.

Our host also wants to send a copy of the invitation letter to US or its embassy in Nig.

My question.

Please is there any organization in US where he should send a copy of the invitation letter informing them of our visit or should he write to the US embassy in Walter Carrington, Lagos OR the one in Abuja?

I'm in Lagos and wish to have my interview here in Lagos.

Thank you

Cc: LagosNIV, LadyG, Seyewest, all Gurus

The invitation letter is irrelevant ooh, not been checked in most cases

You almost had the visa. Firstly the fact that you were not born before your invitee traveled to States does not mean that you should not know how your invitee get to States. You did not do your homework very well. Always know as much info as possible about your invitee or host before going for interview. It pain me because the VO was about to issue you the visa but you did not convince her enough that you really know anything about your invitee. Secondly you work, your earn salary and you still want your invitee to take care of all your expenses overthere, ha ba. You miss the visa as a result of that two reasons. It really pain me you denied yourself the visa not the VO that denied you!!!

You gave the two main reasons he was denied, honestly, but to buttress your point also, 2 years in service, the VO would have taught that he doesn't have much on him, and he may decide to stay " if the invitee is willing to finance the trip, then he should be willing to accommodate him"
I just feel so

Hello everyone, I have been a silent reader in this group for some time. I and my wife with our first baby got our b1.b2 visa in May this year but could not travel due to some circumstances. Last month my wife delivered another baby here in Nigeria and we planned to travel by December but the new baby hasn't got any visa.
My questions are:
how do we apply for the baby?
Do we need to go for another interview with the baby?
On the family application we created initially, is it possible to add the application of the new baby?
Please, the experts in the house should help out. Thank you

If in your past interview, you noted the birth, to be born here or there, and in any case, baby was born here..... That's no problem
Create a new application for the baby, he/she is now part of the family,
You may both go for the interview and or your wife alone will suffice
I believe it is possible

I came to this forum a month ago and i introduced my lawyer sis to the forum. She went for interview on the 13th of this month and we prayed one single prayer
We told God that the Vo should see her and like her and smile for no reason. Though she had done at lot of practice and research about the interview. But it was a great surprise as God answered our prayers just exactly as we prayed it
The Vo did not ask how much she earn, only where she is visiting and a law term which she boldy responded to.
It was just favour cause only two questions got her the visa.
Vo- you passport please
Vo-. You are an advocted?

Sis-- yes. she gave a full details of her social services work as a lawyer
Vo-- kept smiling at her.
Vo- tell me what is res ipsa loquitur
Sis- the fact speaks for itself( boldly)
Vo- smiled again. You visa has been approved
It just favour

Really?
Some folks don't believe that shaa cheesy

Hello Everyone. I have been a silent reader on this forum and I must say everyone is doing a great job. I have read a lot and learnt a lot from this forum. I am only needing to ask this question because I can't remember reading about this here.

I have been to the US before before I got married, I have also been to the UK and Finland. My hubby has been to Ghana and Kenya and he had a UK visa that he didn't use cos of work and the visa expired. After marriage, we have two girls and hubby is doing business earning about 300k while I have a job with an international NGO earning about 400k. We have never traveled together before cos we have been really busy with marriage family and work. He has his sister in the US who has been inviting us since we got married and even promises to sponsor the trip... Now I would like to go on a vacation with the family and I am confused as to the following -

1. Should we put his sister's name as our sponsor, is it wise? Meaning she is paying for everything. We will be staying at her place either way.
2. Or should we say we are sponsoring ourselves for the trip, accommodation is her place so we will be looking at tickets for 4 persons, and money for shopping n sightseeing. Budget might be between 6 -7k dollars. We can save up n plan, even though she might want to support us.

Please advise is needed. Thanks.

Looks better if you say you are sponsoring yourselves, she's good accommodating you, your works good, hubby's biz too
You are good to go
