I pray Cahill dnt be a fool Thanks bro, Mou never thought of Chelsea and you guys when he decided to join United. Wishing him well means all would be well for your direct rival at the detriment of your dear club. He has played his part in the club's success and since moved on, you guys too have to move on. Pep becomes an eternal enemy of Barca the day he decides to coach Madrid. |

dmcdad: Bruv I dey tellz you say ehn... Man utd fans come hate Barça die!
Honestly, the 2009 version was more painful, cause like you said, they were more prepared and more in-tune to win than us, especially during the first 10mins of the game. Lawd! It was like we were gonna have a baptism of fire as they brought the game to us ljke never before, creating chances upon chances. Ronaldo's shot even deflected off the bar.
Ladies and gentlemen, that was all they did all game. After the first 10mins, we took over and rode them till the end. Sotey, Puyol frustrate Ronaldo, Ronaldo come do am rough, collect yellow card. I wan laugh die!
But wetin we do no good at all. How would you defeat a team in 2009 on per seconds billing, and still repeat it 2 years later, especially at their backyard. Haba. Barça no good at all. And you expect make them no hate you with passion? Impossibru! You can imagine their most revered coach at the height of his career losing twice to a very young and inexperienced coach. what more could be upsetting than that? And the fact that there was no 'ojoro' to refer to even worsen their case and hence the much hate. |

If not for Ronaldo's baby attitude, they would've won that match.. God knows Valdez was crapper than crap itself.. I beg to disagree sir! They only played for the 1st ten minutes after which the game was taken beyond them. Xavi and Iniesta ensured the chased the ball endlessly. |

I have always thought Dmcdad was a nice guy Until his latest post. Guy wicked no be small Any Man U fan who claims he expected Barca to sweep United away in 2009 finals must be lying. They were shouting CR7 up and down then as he was the reigning world best, they were the defending champions and had their players fit and full of confidence coupled with their strong defence as against our makeshift defence. I could remember my Pastor even wanted to bet with me then as we had to make do with a makeshift defence, play unfit players in Iniesta and Henry. They never expected what they got served. It was the 2009 loss that made them fear us in 2011 final. |

goldeno10boy: OMG .....OMG ......OMG now i see clearly why 99.8% chelsea fans hate fc barca and i now understand why airmark hates Segio Busquet so much
i always thought EPL fans hate FC Barca and MESSI just because they be-little there EPL ....and they like Madrid simply because of CR7 who played in EPL .....but now i know the truth behind the Chelsea fan hate towards fc barca
well who cares anyway The English teams were dominant then as the all English final saw Chelsea losing to Man U in a match John Terry personally handed the trophy to United. The 0-0 draw at the Camp Nou had given Chelsea fans another hope of avenging their loss against united, the 9th minute breathtaking strike by Esien even made the dream more realistic as they defended with their lives soaking up every thing thrown at them by Messi and co. After almost 90mins of hard labour with no result, I saw Pep saying something to Chelsea's coach in a conversation I interpreted as thus; Pep: Baba, we have respected you enough, it's time to play our game. Hindink: son, what are you really up to? You'd better give up. Pep: just watch and see sir! Hey Bojan, come here, you've got to pass a message to the boys. Busi who was dropping to help the defence and also holding the midfield was removed for Bojan which allowed Iniesta to slightly withdraw from the attack. I didn't actually know how the rest panned out Untill I watched the replay where Esien failed to clear a loose ball which Messi squared back to the don and the rest is history. As regards their loyalty to Madrid, most Chelsea fans became Madrid supporters when Mou was appointed their coach, Man U fans followed CR7 while others like Arsenal fans would support any team against Barca. The pains they(EPl fans) have gone through from the various losses to Barca have many support any thing as long as it's against Barca. So, don't blame them when they fail to call a spade a spade in their analysis when Barca is involved. |

OBTSubtle:

Guys. Why don't we do something fun..
Let's all answer..
When and why did you start supporting Barça?
Your best moment in Barça history.
Your favorite coach.
Your best Barcelona player.
What number of Jersey you would like to wear if you were a Barça player.
If there's anything else you can add..
Here goes mine. .
It was year 2000, still very little then, I just can back from school, wanted to watch cartoons, and I saw rivaldo dribbling on the TV, that moment, I had a rhema and loved rivaldo.. Fast forward to 2003, after my grandad's burial at the village, my dad was installing a new dish and they decided to try out a few stations, they left it on a station where they were showing Barça history, the football was out of this world, I understood the team was Barça and I picked more interest in it.. Later in 2006, I had just come back from school too and Barça TV had swapped for star movies on our ctl cable something.. So I decided to watch a little, that was the first time I saw what maradona, rivaldo, ronaldinho and some other Barça players were capable of... But it was maradona and ronaldinho, these two people showed me something I never dreamed was possible..I marveled at such brilliance and beauty.. Started following up, and here I am..
Beat moment in Barça history.. That beautiful David villa goal in the Champions League final.. 2011.. I ran outside and feel on concrete.. Still got the scar till this day..
Favorite coach.. Pep, has got to be pep.. Frank is there but pep is class for me..
Favorite player.. The god himself.. Messi..
Jersey number.. 14 suits me...
This isn't an original idea though... If you're interested, you could just drop yours..
For the love of Barcelona.. For the love of the game.
Visca El Barça.. My best player....Dinho was great, Messi is greater, Neymar? Only time would tell. But, my best player remains the man who never did anything wrong on the field of play(my view). And that's the great Xavi. I still miss him till now. My best moment? There have been lots of great moments as a Barca fan. But, I'll still go with the victory over Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge over any other due to all it meant at that time. I rushed out of a church program to see the match and with me was a lady who asked to go with me. Our boys had toiled all night to no avail, I had exhausted every prayer point I could muster, I was totally down as the clock was fast ticking, I had forgotten I was there with a pretty lady sitting beside me. To me there was no more hope, I had started rehearsing what excuses I would give to guys the following day in class, I was totally lost. All of a sudden, a Man U fan sitting behind me just lifted me up and was shouting "una don do am" I kept asking what happened as I couldn't even hear when people were shouting 'goal goal' as there were more Chelsea supporters than Barca. What I saw when the guy lifted me up was amazing and one of the best moments to behold. I saw players sleeping on Iniesta while guys were rushing out of the viewing centre crying, fighting, cursing and barking. I got to my room to see one of my hostel guys cursing the day he joined Chelsea fan club and vowed never to watch football again all his life. Even though he was the 1st to get to the viewing centre that same weekend. |

Imagine if he had stayed at Tottenham cause they offered more money, that trophy will not be in his cabinet. Igboid: Really? How exactly did your De gea Chase go? United are not even in champions league anymore, yet Madrid couldn't have de gea, try all they could. If United was determined to tie Ronaldo down, they could have, with bumper deal and massive investments in the squad to please him.
United was naive thinking they could easily replace or compensate for Ronaldo's loss, at that point in time, 80 million pounds looked like a big money. They have learnt the hard way. Barca/Madrid are not going to price away any top talent from EPL any time soon. Go and Mark that down. You still don't get it sir! It's not about the money, but it's all about the players dreaming of turning up for the biggest clubs in the world. Ronaldo didn't join Madrid because of the money but because of the pride that goes along with the name. The biggest players in the world played/play for these two teams. That's why it's always been the dream of every good player to wear their jerseys. That's why it's always difficult for players to say no when they knock even when the parent clubs try to put up resistance. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by sebod(m): 12:22pm On Oct 20, 2016 |
Igboid: Keep deceiving yourself. Players follow the cashflow. The cash is now in EPL, the top players will follow, and the emerging top talents in EPL can nolonger be poached. Only those deemed surplus to requirements will be leaving EPL now. You won't be getting any more Ronaldos, Bales, Modrics, Mascheranos, Alonsos from EPL, but your Agueros, Silvas, Nolitos, Sanchez, Ozils, and others you deemed surplus to requirements that are top talents will end up in EPL. The financial war has been won by EPL, it's only a matter of time before it starts manifesting on the pitch. If there's anyone deceiving himself here, it's surely you! Can you bodily tell us that if CR7 had wanted more money to stay at United, they didn't have enough to offer him? Don't forget he's the 1st and only player to have won the world best player award in EPL, can you prove that he still left United because of money? No matter how rich Leicester City become today, should Barca/Madrid knock at Mahrez' door, he would force the transfer and the next thing you'll hear from him is "its always been my dream to play for Barca/Madrid. There's no amount of money any club can have today especially in EPL that would stop any player from picking up Barca/Madrid's call sir, these clubs have been poaching the best players even from the very rich clubs in EPL, so your line of argument does not just add up unless you want to tell us that the deal would afford Watford the ability to price away the big boys from Barca/Madrid. |

Igboid: What quality? EPL top guns have had to undergo through a rough patch. United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal, these were teams that consistently featured in the quarterfinals and Semi finals of Champions league not long ago, when Barcelona was the only saving grace for la liga.
The advantage of being big spenders Barcelona and Madrid were the seasons that followed those exploits, allowed them to consistently poach top talents from EPL teams, and distabilized these teams. Madrid and Barca helped themselves with Henry, Mascherano, Alonso, Modric, Bale, Ronaldo, Suarez, top top players very vital to their parent clubs. In return EPL only got those Madrid and Barca deemed surplus to requirements.
That tide of one way flow of players from EPL to la liga will never happen again with the mega money of EPL TV deal now on board, you can never price away top talents from EPL. United already showed you the future with your failed bid to capture De gea. EPL top guns can now afford to pay their top talents whatever Barca and Madrid can afford to.
Messi and Ronaldo won't be around forever. Soon the tide will turn for ever. Your league and teams will be eventually transformed to poaching ground for EPL top teams. It's every players dream to wear Barca/Madrid shirts, that's why it's easy to price them away from their clubs. Forget about any TV deal. Those two clubs are bigger than every other club out there and get whatever they want. Ronaldo left Man U for Madrid(as the world best player) not because United couldn't afford to pay whatever he asked for, but because he knew what it means to turn up for Madrid. Same applies to any player Barca set eyes on. |

sinizia: Pep's biggest mistake was not having Aguero on that pitch, he'd have scored Barca in that first-half. Barca had errors too but no-one to convert them. At the end, City attack didn't step up. But still, as a fan of attacking football, City made me happy up until Bravo moment of stupidity. Thunder fire Pep on that one. His quest for passing football is too extreme. Bravo was stupid for trying to pass the ball in front of two players when he could have kicked out the ball. No keeper is as ball playing as Valdez/Nueur, yet, they know when to pass and to clear out. As per your analysis of the match, I'll say kudos to you. Individual errors cost City as they really played well by taking the game to Barca. |
