*INTRODUCING ROLL COVERS FOR CROPS PROTECTION* *WHAT ARE ROLL COVERS*? Row covers are made of lightweight fabrics available in a variety of cold-protection strengths. Double or even triple layering may be needed in some areas for continual harvest during the said period. Rain and sun still reach the plants because the fabric is permeable, although sunlight will be reduced by the degree of cold-protection of the fabric and the layers used. Be careful if you use plastic. It doesn’t allow in air or water and may cause overheating. Cooking and salad greens will need to be covered in most areas for continual harvest. Onions and garlic are not covered .Applicable for fruit crops and veggies like lettuce, carrot, potatoes, spinach, cauliflower, leeks, Shrubs and Flowers, Plantain and Banana Fruits protection etc. *NB : PP spun bond non woven fabric Uv stabilized.. *GENERAL BENEFIT OF USING ROLL COVER* 1. The primary benefit of row covers is they create a greenhouse effect that traps heat and raises day and night soil temperatures, which extends the growing season. 2. Roll Cover also keep the soil moist. 3. Roll cover prevent wind damage to crops.. 4. Roll covers also control insects and other pests attack to crops. 5. Roll covers also deter foraging animals. 6.Roll cover are easy to install and are economical. 7. Roll cover also allow for easy harvesting. 8. Crops under roll cover protection remain relatively bug-free. 9..Crops under roll cover protection mature faster. 10. Crops under roll cover protection grow healthier. 11. Crops under roll cover protection produce sooner than expected. 12. Roll covers keep soil and plants from overheating . *SPECIFICATIONS* * Country of Origin : India *Colour : White * Length per Roll : 400 metres. * Width per roll : 1.6 m *Qty of roll per acre : 7 rolls* *Can be used for two to Three crop circle*. *HOW TO INSTALL ROLL COVERS ON YOUR CROPS* The idea is to create a tunnel. This is easily accomplished by installing hoops, draping the fabric snugly over them and securing it to the ground. The simplest way to create the hoops is to use thin, flexible wire usually available where you purchased the fabric. Simply push an end of the wire into the ground on one side of the row, loop it to the other side and push that end into the ground. For a standard plot, four hoops should be sufficient. To create a more substantial hoop, use one-half-inch PVC pipe. This is available in plumbing shops and comes in 10-foot lengths. Use this length or cut it to eight feet, depending on the height of the crop you are covering. To secure the PVC pipe, hammer a smaller size of PVC pipe into the ground on both sides of the plot, leaving six inches above the ground. Place the long PVC pipe over the smaller one. If you use a wooden planting frame and want a permanent hoop for other seasons shading for instance, fasten the PVC pipe to the outside of the frame with clamps. Drape the fabric over the hoops and secure it to the ground so it doesn’t come loose and expose vegetables to elements. Hold the fabric in place with plastic stakes available from garden centres or with anything that’s handy – rocks, two-by-fours, metal pipes. PARSLEY CULINARY HERB VEGETABLE. Because Parsley takes so long to germinate many gardeners have trouble raising parsley. It has long been considered a valuable herb and we know it to be rich in iron and carotene. It need not be confined to herb gardens either, for in the flower garden its foliage provides a pleasant back-ground, particularly to spring bulbs. It has, however, a reputation for being fickle, sometimes doing well and sometimes failing miserably. More often than not, the problems are due to slow germination, poor soil and over-crowding. Basically, parsley needs warmth for germination, a rich, deeply dug soil and plenty of room. When these conditions are satisfied, the plants will develop into dark green plants that are a joy to see and to pick. Parsley, is naturally slow germinating, and along with carrots and celery, parsley can suffer from having seeds with underdeveloped embryos. This means that once sown these seeds still need time to develop and mature before they can germinate. Whilst in this immature state they are susceptible to soil pests and diseases and this is often the reason why germination is slow . Early sowings often also fail because the soil temperature is too low for rapid germination and development. Germination Parsley will germinate at temperatures from 40-90°F. The optimum temperature is 80°F with a drop during the night to 68°F, and at lower temperatures germination will take correspondingly longer. A suitable compromise particularly for early sowings, is to sow in containers at room temperature, when germination usually takes around 7 days, and transplant later on into the garden. An alternative is fluid sowing where pre-germinated seedlings are piped along the drill . Research has shown that this method results in better and earlier emergence. Also the seeds could be treated with growth boosters like king humus plus soaking the seeds with it overnight. It is usually only necessary to make two sowings, one in spring and one in the summer. The latter crop to provide continuity of supply through the winter, and into the following spring. If you are sowing indoors it can be done as early as February for planting outside in April. Outdoors, sow in drills 1/2 to 3/4 inch deep, in rows 12 inches apart. During dry weather water the bed well before sowing and if you have persistent problems with parsley, try mixing damp peat with the seeds before sowing. Watering the drill before sowing with a kettleful of boiling water has also proved helpful, perhaps because it acts as a soil sterilant to keep disease and weeds away during the long germination period. After germination, perhaps the most important thing is to give the plants enough room, so thin out before the seedlings begin to crowd and leave each plant finally with 12 inches of space. Light picking can commence 85-90 days from sowing and from then on should be carried out regularly along the full length of the row. This will ensure a constant supply of fresh leaves. You can dry what you do not use or even put it on the compost heap, but if you stop picking, the foliage will go coarse. HEALTH BENEFITS OF PARSLEY 1. Reduce your cancer risk. Eating parsley can reduce the risk of cancers such as breast, digestive tract, skin and prostate. 2. Improve your immune function. 3. Parsley helps to modulate the immune system. ... 4. Beat inflammation. 5.Fight diseases. 6.Protect your blood vessels. These and more others are some of the benefits of taking parsley. BASIL HEALTH BENEFITS TO MAN. Category: Herb, Spice, Seasoning, Sauce Subcategory: Herb Taste: Savory, Sweet DESCRIPTION. Basil is an herb. The parts of the plant that grow above the ground are used to make medicine. Basil is commonly used fresh in cooked recipes. In general, it is added at the last moment, as cooking quickly destroys the flavor. HEALTH BENEFITS OF BASIL. 1) Benefical for stomach spasms. 2. Used to treat snake & insect bites. 3) Basil prevent the outburst of acne and pimples. 4) Basil also prevent the appearance of blackheads. 5) Basil can be used to cure skin infections. 6) Basil can be used to cure ‘vitiligo’, a disease characterized by white patches on the skin. 7. Basil can be used to prevent hair loss. 8. Basil is effective in strengthening the hair shaft. 9. Basil helps in rejuvenating and producing healthy hair by stimulating the hair follicles. 10) Basil can provide prevention of damage by radiation. SIMPLE TIPS TO GROWING BASIL FROM SEEDS. Growing Inside ,Indoor or Greenhouse : You can start basil seed inside any time of the year provided the seeds are in a constantly warm environment, they do not like cold soil temperatures at night when germinating. For a 4 inch pot, sow about 2 to 3 seeds a quarter inch deep in moist potting mix. You can also start the seeds using nursery trays with grow medium such as cocopeat.. Once the seedlings have emerged, keep them in a lighted place but out of direct sunlight, then once the second set of leaves have fully formed, they can be moved to their final position, presumably a sunny part of the house. Once the seedlings have reached a height of around 3 or 4 inches, pinch out the top most leaves as this will encourage the basil plant to produce lateral shoots, helping it to bush out. As the plants continue to grow, remove any flower buds as they arise as this will signal a change in the flavour of the basil, making the leaves bitter and even unpalatable for some people. Flowering will also cause a significant reduction in the growth of new foliage, reducing the amount which can be used for cooking. Growing Outside or Open field : Personally, I think all basil seeds should be started inside for best results, starting seeds about 6-8 weeks before the last frost. But, if you must start them outside directly in the soil, then sow the seeds in the garden after all danger of frost has passed and soil has warmed. Cover seeds about 1/4" deep and in a row, Grow in a rich, well-drained, soil and in full sun. Pinch the tip from the center shoot of Basil after it has grown for 6 weeks to force side growth and prevent early flowering. If flower stalks develop, simply snip them off.You can as well create a seed bed for the purpose of raising the seeds in nursery . HARVESTING BASIL.. Harvest the basil often. The trick to growing basil that is large and abundant is to harvest often. The more you harvest, the more the plant will grow. When harvesting, pinch off the stem right above where a pair of leaves are growing. After you harvest, two more stems will start to grow, which means twice the leaves next time you harvest! Remove flowers. Once a basil plant flowers, the leaves start to lose their good flavor. If you remove any flowers, the leaves will get their good flavor back in just a day or so. NB : This is just a tip to Basil growing. You can contact us for more information you may require on basil growing such as foliar fertilizer ,pesticides application ,water requirements and so on . *WHY YOU NEED QUALITY NURSERY BAGS FOR QUALITY SEEDLINGS* The quality of planting stock is a major factor in determining the success of tree farming. The survival of trees, growth performance, length of rotation period and volume and quality of fruits that can be harvested from a plantation are greatly influenced by the quality of seedlings used. Seedlings raised in nursery should be of high quality and the nursery operator should focus on raising high quality seedlings rather than on the number of seedlings produced. It is better to produce fewer seedlings of high quality rather than to produce many seedlings of low quality. Unfortunately, in Nigeria, most private and government nurseries concentrate on the quantity rather than on improving the quality of seedlings. Seedling quality refers to genetic and physical properties. Genetic quality relates to the genetic characteristics of the source of germplasm, while physical quality refers to the physical condition of the seedling as it is raised in the nursery. The physical quality of seedlings can be improved by good practice within the nursery but there is no quick fix to improve seedling genetic quality. Producing seedlings of high physical quality can be carried out when the seedlings are in the nursery, while raising seedlings of high genetic quality requires the application of appropriate technologies prior to the production of seedlings in the nursery. Improving the seedling genetic quality requires a long-term process of mother tree selection and an appropriate germplasm collection procedure. Also the use of quality seedlings materials like quality nylon bags cannot be left out . *TIPS FOR POTTING OF TREE SEED IN NYLON BAGS* If you are using nylon to raise your tree seeds ; it should have at least four to six holes on the bottom for excess water outlet.During filling of the nylon with well prepared potting soil; press the two bottom corners of the bag towards the inside to circle and flatten the bottom. This facilitates the bag to stand in an upright position. The size of the nylon to use for any tree seed depends on the species and the length of time the seedlings will stay in the nursery. For instance if you are to raise oil palm seeds that can stay up to a year in nursery it is ideal to use bigger size nylons because of the root spread rate. Then if you are to raise paw paw seeds, a smaller nylon bag is enough since the paw paw seedlings won't stay beyond a month in the nursery. As a general rule, larger nylon bags are used for bigger seeds. While smaller nylon bags are used for smaller seeds as illustrated above . For purchase of quality nylon bags for quality seedlings or fruit trees ,do contact SEEDWORLD LTD 07082638957 (WhatsApp) Email : seedworldintegratedconceptltd@gmail.com |

STEPS NECESSARY FOR GROWING OF MAIZE.. The following steps/tips will help you as an intending maize farmer who intend to grow maize in the next planting season. (A) LAND PREPARATION : Getting your land ready to receive seeds is a very important step to producing a good crop.Land preparation can be done both manually or by mechanisation. All fields are properly cleared, stumps removed where necessary. (B) SOIL AND CLIMATE Maize grows best on deep, well-drained, fertile soils, and where total seasonal rainfall is more than 500mm. Maize can endure slightly high levels of soil acidity, but if the soil is very acidic , liming will improve the soil and give you a better yield. Maize is affected badly by both drought and water-logging,though there are some varieties of hybrid maize said to be drought tolerant ,the likes of some Pioneer and Seedco maize varieties. So, poorly drained soils should be avoided, unless one uses ridge tillage, drainage and early planting. Drought during the four week period in which the plant flowers (silking and tasseling) can cause serious yield losses, and so some form of water conservation is important (e.g. Mulching, especially in drier areas or seasons. (C) FERTILIZATION In this regard ,there is need to know the nutrients deficient in your soil through soil test result. The fertiliser that maize requires depends on how fertile the soil is and on your target yield. Infertile soils and a higher yield target require more fertiliser. The two most important nutrients for maize are Nitrogen and Phosphorous. It also requires Potassium and, on some soils, Zinc in small quantities. The first option for fertilising maize is manure, because it is an excellent source of nutrients and has many other benefits for soils. Think of inorganic fertilisers as something to be added to manure that is if you are not going purely organic. The following gives a general recommendation for fertilising maize with inorganic/organic fertilisers: Note also that ; • The yield potential depends very much on the expected rainfall and how you manage the crop. • Adding manure and ash to your soil will greatly improve the way the maize works with the applied fertiliser. • You may reduce the amount of fertiliser used after a drought, where manure and ash is applied, or when the maize is planted where legumes like potatoes or a well-fertilised crop has just been grown. • The basal fertiliser ( For applying basal fertilizer to crops in the field, you should broadcast it near the holes of crops and cover it with mud ) must be applied before or at the time of planting.Add it in the planting hole at least 10gram,a lid of coke bottle is ok, or apply it in a band below and to the side of the seed if you are using a mechanical/manual planter. • Apply the top dressing when the maize is 4 to 6 weeks old. • Apply Basal fertilisers that contain Zinc on sandy soils once every two to three years. *EFFECTS OF DELAY OF PLANTING YOUR MAIZE* For every day that planting of maize is delayed, the yield loss is one bag (50 kg) per hectare on average. For instance, the same amount of seed maize planted at the beginning of November may yield 6 tonnes per hectare, but only 3 tonnes per hectare when planted at the end of December, all other things being equal. This is a big loss, which you should remember as a productive farmer. Early planting with the right maize hybrid seed variety, together with fertiliser and manure and the control of early weeds will make a large difference to the production of maize in your farm. (D) MAIZE VARIETIES The are many hybrid varieties of maize available from a number of seed companies in Nigeria you can choose from. The choice of which Seed or variety to grow depends on your needs. Things you will think about in choosing which one to plant will be yield potential, season length,Market need, anticipated disease problems and use of your crop. Early maturing hybrids take between 100 and 120 days from planting to maturity, this also may vary depending on variety. Whereas medium to late maturing varieties take between 120 and 130days to mature. The time to maturity for any variety depends on air temperature: the cooler the temperatures the longer the plants will take to mature. (E) PLANTING YOUR MAIZE Timing is very important in maize planting. The right season for early maize planting in Nigeria is between March 15 to May 15. Late planting can be done in August. So, plant as early as possible .Hand planting, can be done as long as the farmer is well prepared, also manual planting can be done using a manual seed planter which we sell (SEEDWORLD LTD) *The following guidelines help in planning an early planting*: • Get your fertiliser and seeds earlier. • Prepare planting holes early (i.e., in February for early planting and add-in the Compound fertiliser so that all fields are ready for planting by the end February. • Do not plant in February, unless there has been lots of rain (that is, more than 50 mm and the soil is wet down to 45 cm onb clays and 60 cm on sands). • In March , after each rainfall event, check the soil moisture status by digging in the field. Sow seed if the soil is wet down to 30 cm on clay soils or 50cm on sandy soils. If more than 25 mm of rain has fallen, plant as much as you can in two days and then stop until further rain is received. • If no planting rains have fallen by the second week of March, then dry plant. Ensure the seed is placed into dry soil. • Every time you plant, ensure the seed is well covered with loose soil so that there is good contact between the seed and the soil. Don’t cover the seed with clods or rocks that may hinder sprouting . • Soaking seeds in water for 12 hours (overnight) to speeds up germination, but such seed must be planted into wet soil the day after soaking.King humus plus which we sell (SEEDWORLD LTD) can also be mixed in water for soaking of your seeds . NB : SEED VARIETY SELECTION BASIS.. * Maize Hybrid choice selection should be based on Yield Potential and Tolerance to Grey Leaf Spot. * Maize Hybrid choice based on Yield Potential and Drought Tolerance. *MID SEASON MANAGEMENT OF MAIZE* 1. WEED CONTROL : Especially 6 weeks after planting is extremely important to weed the farm . Hoeing is effective, and is easiest when weeds are small. However, if you don’t have enough labour and if you manage your crop well, herbicides may be used. There are many herbicides for maize, most common of such is Atrazine applied just before germination. Note, however, that Atrazine should not be used on sandy soils. Whenever you apply herbicides, read and follow the label instructions and take the necessary safety precautions. Alternatively, mechanical weeder machines which we also sell (SEEDWORLD LTD) can also be used to weed your maize farm especially at the early stages .. 2. Rain-harvesting techniques should be used as early as possible, e.g., mulching. This is even more helpful in dry areas where rainfall is unreliable. 3. Apply top dress with Ammonium Nitrate when the maize is 4 to 6 weeks old. Maize on sandy soils may require a split top-dressing, with the first half applied at 4 weeks and the second at 7 weeks after planting. Use an appropriate sized fertiliser cup to place the fertiliser near each plant, or dribble-band the fertiliser along the row with a pipe attached to a bag. 4. Check for stalk borer damage at 4 to 6 weeks after planting. The usual evidence of early stalk borer infection is the appearance of many small holes in the new leaves in the funnel. If you need to, apply insecticide granules or sprays into the funnels of the maize plants to control stalkborers. The first generation of stalkborers must be controlled, otherwise a second generation may develop, which will be more numerous and more difficult to control.Early detection and treatment is very important. 5. Grey Leaf Spot (GLS), Maize Streak Virus (MSV), Phaesopheria Leaf Spot (PLS) and Corn Leaf Blight (CLB ) diseases may appear in some maize varieties from 6 weeks after germination .The best strategy for the diseases control is to use tolerant hybrid maize seeds varieties. Nevertheless, the spraying of fungicides on hybrids that may be at risk of these diseases is cost effective. 6. Control late weeds with the hoe or herbicides from flowering onwards. This reduces weed seeds and also makes harvesting easier. 7. Harvest the crop as early as possible to reduce losses in the field.Maize can be sold fresh or left till well dried. If whole cobs are harvested and placed in an outside grain crib for storage until shelling, protect this from rain. Shell the cobs as soon as possible to reduce infection by weevils. When it dries, store the grain and protect it from insects and rodents. The best place to store grain is a cool dry room that keeps both moisture and rodents out. Applying a grain protectant chemical will prevent infection by weevils and other storage pests. **TIPS TO NOTE IN LAND PREPARATION/ CROP PRODUCTION FOR INTENDING FARMERS* Growing maize, of course, starts with the soil. Soil is made up of very small rock particles, organic matter, microorganisms, air and water. The way in which these elements are mixed and other related things affect whether or not the soil will produce a good crop. The two main things that limit soil from producing the best yield possible are: (a) The supply of nutrients (that is, the food that the plants are getting) and, (b) The supply of water. Other things to keep in mind are: (b) Bad chemical conditions, such as too much acid in the soil (acidity) or the absence of acid in the soil (alkalinity), the presence of salts (salinity) or toxic chemicals in the soil. (c) Lack of air in the soil, in wet areas and in waterlogged soils. (d) Erosion, which removes the topsoil and washes away the goodness(nutrients) in the soil. (e) The soil’s shallowness, the presence of rocks, gravel, hard sub-soil layers and surface crusts. *THE SOIL CONDITIONS THAT ENCOURAGE CROPS TO GROW WELL INCLUDES* (1) Fertility. This includes the soil reaction (i.e., the acidity or alkalinity). Fertile soils that are slightly acid to neutral are best for most crops, while soils with too much salt are bad for most crops. Remember this saying: “Productive soils are always fertile, but fertile soils are not always productive.” (2) Depth: Deeper soils are better than shallow soils, simply because they store more water. (3) Texture and structure: These have to do with the amount of clay in a soil and the way the soil particles bind together. Soils with some clay tend to be better than pure sands. Soils with a good structure are stable, resist erosion and are good for growing crops. *THE MAIN FACTORS THAT REDUCE CROP YIELD INCLUDE* 1. Weeds Weeds fight your crops for sunlight, water and food. Crop yields are worst affected by the weeds during the first four weeks after germination. Weeds may make other activities like spraying and harvesting difficult. 2. Planting and planting time.. Planting is one of the most important things in crop farming. The way in which the seed or seedlings are placed in the ground determines yield potential. Think about time of planting, plant spacing, depth of seeding and placement of seeds, bearing in mind what fertilizer you will be using. The time at which planting is done has a big effect on the yield of a crop. Most crops have a best planting time, determined by the weather and the time taken to reach maturity. For instance maize, early planting at the beginning of the rainy season is best, as the harvest will be less the later they are planted. Plant spacing is the distance between rows and between plants in the rows. The closer the spacing, the greater the number of plants that will be grown per hectare. The best plant spacing for a crop depends on the type of crop and the weather. Closer spacing is allowed for short crops like soya beans, but maize plants need more space. Also, in drier areas, wider spacing is better in order to give more soil and water to each plant. In high rainfall areas, or where there is irrigation, closer spacing is allowed. The sowing depth of a crop depends on the size of the seed, the type of soil and the weather. Generally, smaller seeds are sown at a shallower depth than larger seed. The deeper the seed is planted, the longer the seedling takes to emerge and the weaker the plant will be when it germinates, which may reduce plant strength. Seed may be planted deeper in sandy soil or when dry planting (i.e., planting before the rain). It’s important to remember to ensure good seed-to-soil contact, as this allows the seed to take in water, which initiates germination. Consider the heat of the soil when dry planting. Seed is a living organism that can dry out and die. Also, plant seed at least 2 centimeters away from fertilizers that have been put on the soil because fertilizers can burn the seed. 3. Choosing the right variety For most crops there are a number of varieties available. Your choice of variety would be determined by certain conditions, such as whether your land is dry land or irrigated land, and whether you are interested in short season or long season production. It is advisable not to rely on only one variety, but instead to grow a selection of the best varieties suitable to the farm’s conditions. The use of hybrid or certified seeds offered by SEEDWORLD LTD also ensures that the seed is of the highest quality. 4. Soil and water conservation practices. While soil is the basis of producing crops, rainfall can be one of the most limiting factors. Therefore, the wise farmer makes every effort to prevent the harmful use of land or wasteful use of water. The way this is done is by using such techniques as ridge / tillage practices. *INTRODUCING DRIP/OTHER IRRIGATION SYSTEMS FOR DRY SEASON FARMING*. *WHAT IS IRRIGATION*? Irrigation is the application of controlled amounts of water to plants at needed intervals. Irrigation helps to grow agricultural crops, maintain landscapes, and revegetate disturbed soils in dry areas and during periods of less than average rainfall. Every year in Nigeria and in most parts of sub Saharan Africa after about 4-6 months of Rainfall we get to the dry months where solar radiation is scorching and soil water depletes. The time where seasonal farmers drop their farm implements at home and focus on their other trades to continue providing for their families. But this is the time when smart farmers make their money, Why? Because, since few farmers are growing, only those using effective irrigation will have their crops available during this periods and they will sure reap immense benefits. However, there lies the big questions: What irrigation options are available? What Irrigation options is suitable for the crop I hope to grow in the dry season? Well, if you have this questions in mind then you are at the right place, continue reading… We will focus on 3 main type of Irrigation that are bound to increase your yields and profits this dry season. *ALTERNATIVE IRRIGATION SYSTEMS* (A) . RAIN GUN SPRINKLERS : As their names implies they are in the shape of a gun and they have a longing jet range(rate at which they cover). Just 1 Rain gun can cover up to 1 acre or more and rotates 360 degrees. Having one Big rain gun sprinkler and a big industrial pump of 10 to 12Hp one can effectively irrigate 1acre of land simply by mounting the Sprinkler in the middle of the farm. **What is the advantages of Rain Gun Sprinkler*? (1) . Rain Gun Irrigation plays the role of Nitrogen fixation. One of the major nutrient plant requires is Nitrogen. Atmospheric air contains 78% of nitrogen. As the Rain Gun resembles Rain, the water dissolves the nitrogen from air and gives it to soil, thereby adding nutritive value to the soil. This is one of the reasons for increase in yield. 2. Reduces pest and insects attack: Pests and insects get washed away during Rain Gun irrigation. 3. Less Cost : 1 Big Raingun (that can cover up to 100m diameter, when used with a big Machine_10-12hp) and stand costs lesser in Nigeria depending on location. 4. Less Maintenance. It is easy to maintain. Crops that support Sprinklers: Plantation crops(Plantain, Pineapple, Oil Palm, Rubber, e.t.c), Indigenous vegies: Ugu, Shoko, Tete, Ewedu, Water Leaf, itter Leaf, Afang or water loving exotic vegetables like Le (B) SPRAY TUBES : Another Irrigation method we will be talking about are Spray tubes. These are flexible flat hose perforated at strategic points so that when pressured water pass through them the water will gush out from those holes in a uniform way on both sides. They have a jet length, coverage area of 4m average (2m to the left and 2m to the right) and that means that a 1000m length of spray tubes will be sufficient to irrigate 1 acre. They do not necessarily need a high powered pump, however depending on the size of the land you can power with a 5m high over head tank or pump water directly from a borehole ,well ,river ,canal or a water body close by using a mud pump. ** Crops that support Spray tubes include: Plantation crops(Plantain, Pineapple, Oil Palm, Rubber, e.t.c), Indigenous vegies: Ugu, Shoko, Tete, Ewedu, Water Leaf, Bitter Leaf, Afang or water loving exotic vegetables like Lettuce, Water Melon, Cucumbers(staked), e.t.c Video of how a watermelon farm is watered using spraytubes in the dry season is shown below. * Average Cost of spray tube irrigation: We sell the Spray tubes in 100m rolls per roll. (A) . DRIP IRRIGATION SYSTEM : Drip irrigation is a type of micro-irrigation system that has the potential to save water and nutrients by allowing water to drip slowly to the roots of plants, either from above the soil surface or buried below the surface. The goal is to place water directly into the root zone and minimize evaporation. Drip irrigation systems distribute water through a network of valves, pipes, tubing, and emitters. Depending on how well designed, installed, maintained, and operated it is, a drip irrigation system can be more efficient than other types of irrigation systems, such as surface irrigation or sprinkler irrigation. Drip irrigation system is by far the most effective irrigation system for exotic vegetables most of which do not like water to stay long on their leaf like tomato, some specie of cucumbers and others. However most farmers do not use this type of irrigation due to its initial investment cost. COMPLETE KIT FOR AN ACRE DEPENDING ON THINKNESS OF DRIP LINES COST B/W #250,000 TO #300,000. **DRIP KITS FOR AN ACRE** ** 4,000m drip tapes ** 200pcs of offtake ** 200pcs of endcap ** 100m of layflat ** 1 filter Crops that support Drip Irrigation: Plantation crops(Plantain, Pineapple, Oil Palm, Rubber, e.t.c), Indigenous vegies: Ugu, Shoko, Tete, Ewedu, Water Leaf, Bitter Leaf, Afang , Maize, Cassava, exotic vegetables like Lettuce, Water Melon, Cucumbers,Pepper, lettuce, cabbage e.t.c There are basically 2 types of drip Irrigation systems: The first is factory perforated drip system, these ones have a defined spacing say 30cm or 50cm between one drip emitter and the other. If you want to cover a large area on drip tapes, we highly recommend that you procure them through via order placement and we ship them to your location, in such way you will get a High quality factory perforated Drip Irrigation system.only with all The second however consist of an unperforated drip line and you have to use a puncher to make holes and connect an emitter to the holes-this method is used majorly for plantation crops that requires much water like plantains For purchase or further enquiries on affordable drip Irrigation kits order,do contact SEEDWORLD LTD on 07082638957(WhatsApp) Email : seedworldintegratedconceptltd@gmail.com we sell on order placement and do installation for clients as well. |

We sell short okro variety hybrid. NextDayPP: |
1. WATERING. Okra grows best in hot climates especially in the dry season for instance as obtainable in the Northern region of Nigeria. It's best to water okra in the morning so that the plants have time to dry before nightfall. If the water is excessive and remain stagnant at the root of the plant overnight, it could cause the root of the plant to start rotting. When you water okra, try not to get water on the leaves. When the sun starts beating down on the okra plants, the water will act as a magnifying glass and burn the okra leaves. Water application once a day especially in the morning or late evening two days intervals a week is OK. 2. SPACING : Okra planting is done manually or by the use of seed planters. The seed sown at ½ to 1-inch deep into the soil, spaced at 20inches between plants and 24 to 36 inches between rows. The spacing will ensure that the plants receive adequate sunlight, nutrients, and moisture. Prior to planting, soak the seeds in water overnight. This helps hasten germination. 3. RIDGES : It is advisable that you make ridges before planting okra. It has been observed that okra grow better on ridges than on flat land. |
