Ethiopia is over 80 million people with an economy of 72 billion dollar GDP. That my friend is a textbook definition of poor and miserable.

Being landlocked doesn't necessarily condemn a country to being poor, it simply makes them overly dependent on their neighbours, restricting trade and geopolitical reach.

Take a look at what South Africa is doing to Swaziland!
Togo with sea access is even poorer. Meanwhile landlocked ethiopia is the fastest developing country in africa...and Adis Ababa looks better than both lagos and abuja in terms of modern streets and infrastructure...

I wont stand here and tell u that having biafra without port harcourt will be all rosy...but its not worse than we have it now.

At least people will start using onitsha river port..cos now nobody is using it. At least we can use our international airports instead of going to lagos. If we need to loby the niger delta to keep river niger open for us, we will...other wise we threaten to dam it. They lose nothing by keeping it open to us...but they lose a lot if we dam it for electricity...remember it flows from north into the ocean.
We are not swaziland...and the dynamics are not the same. Swaziland dont have a river port. We do. The only thing we need is for nigeria to keep their part of the niger open to us. They can...its all diplomacy.

The ikwerre shakara is too much for people bringing only sea access that we have an alternative to

lol..so u believe that once ur nation is not opened to the sea...it will be poor...well here is the irony...ethiopia is landlocked even worse than biafra...but its richer than togo with miles of coastal line and oil...

Austria is rich than nigeria...yet its landlocked without oil.

I repeat...igboland is not landlocked...we have water ways...we dont need nigerdelta

River Niger is not a sea port, it's an inland water.

Without port Harcourt which is over 70 percent Igbo, it means Biafra will be a land locked state without access to the sea. Very vital for economy, ask Niger and Austria.
South sudan is landlocked..but it has a river port.
Juba port is the main river port in South Sudan. Other main ports in the country are located in the towns of Bor, Mangalla, Shambe, Adok, Malakal, Melut and Renk. Barges are not confined to docking at these locations and will travel to where they are needed and where it is safest to dock. General cargo barges docking in Juba can contain anything from food and household goods, to building supplies, heavy engineering machinery, vehicles and fuel. Passenger barges carry IDPs from conflict areas in the north of the country also terminate at Juba making the port an important transit area for IDPs.

If u see...a ship will pass thru somalia and ethiopia b4 it reaches the port...if river niger passes thru nigeria or anyother country, then we must negotiate to keep our vessels flowing thru...

Ikwerre will realign once the conditions are right. Their igbo denial issue was actually fuel by the politically dominant ijaws in the old rivers state who tried to marginalize igbos.

Also know that Ikwerre are NOT the only igbo sub group in rivers state. There are about 7 to 8 other igbo subgroups that have never denied their igboness.
pyxon:
I have seen times without number how ikwerre vehemently deny their igboness to the point it has gotten embarrassing. Igbo is a successful tribe that has cultural ties with a lot of tribes and Trust me there are tribes that will choose to leave with Igbo when the time comes. Ikwerre can go with ijaws and continue playing politics with them
we really dont need ikwerre. And we need to make it clear from day one.

If am a senator and i stand b4 the senate and ask them to consider giving igbos in nigeria an authonomous region, the map i will show them of igboland will not include ikwerre or p.h. it wont even include agbor in delta state

My exact thought. It's like your reading my mind dude. Nigeria is a huge hinder in our growth. A big, fat, hinder. I curse the day Luggard stepped his foot in Africa. Whenever I compare how much we've grown since the end of the war despite little to no aid and that of Nigeria's growth, I weap. I weap because it shows me the potential of Igbos getting suffocated in that shithole. I applaud our parents in how much they grew after that war. I truly applaud them. It was not easy but they made it despite being stuck in this backwards, unprogressive hellhole. My desire for Biafra is because I see so much potential for our people. So much fucking potential especially in the terms of Human resources. When I look at the work of Aba merchants and Nnewi techs, I see a huge potential being stifled by petty stupidity. Only this shithole will cut it's nose just to spite themselves all because they want to keep Igbos subgated. Nigeria is the only country I know that it is stupid to realize that human resources develops a nation faster than natural resources. Nigeria is the only nation I know where such incompetence is available. Honestly, even with the Igboland only proposal will not allow thosr animals to let go, mostly because of the high percent of oil in Oyigbo, Egbema and Co. Personally, I say if we ever want to be free from that backwards hellhole parading itself as country and grow, we need to drop the entire SS minorites lands inclusion in Biafra. As for The Igbo land with oil, create a treaty that gives this greedy goats access to it and allow to drink themselves fat with it. I feel deeply that Igboland can develop with just Human resources alone. One thing God blessed us with is that. I am beyond confident about it. But, we will never get to if we are stuck in that retrogressive piece of shit. Honestly, staying in that nation, we'll continue watching other African nation thrive while the "Giant of Africa" confront falling into a pit. I mean come the Bleep on, Somalia of all places is even doing better than Nigeria and that country has been at war for God knows how long now.

As for Igbo leaders...I 100% agree with you. The day I read about Igbo leadership prior to British invasion taught me alot. if not for the British greediness, the likes of Kalu, Rochas, all Ohaneze leaders, all Igbo leaders in that Nation's government would never ever touch the leadership position at all. Based on my understanding of what I was taught, any of past Igbos that ever exhibited their type of leadership was immediately removed and stripped out of the community. Our ancestors never tolerated such bullshits. Unfortunately, being stuck in that hellhole those animals claiming to be our leaders are protected by the government of that shithole thus, the people can't even deal with the way they used to in the past. It's shame.

. I honestly believe someone cursed us to be in this retrogressive shithole drowning in mediocrity with the rest of the tribes in that nation. Honestly I do believe Nigeria is a curse. A big fat curse. Every single tribe in that shithole is cursed in my opinion. I pray and hope whoever our people wronged in the past before the British invaded, find it in her or his heart to forgive us before we drown completely with the rest of this animals in this zoo. It's extremely obvious Nigeria is modern day Titanic and I pray we get out before the boat hit completely under water. That's my prayer. If the rest of the tribes want to die in that sinking ship and live out their curse, let them but they aren't taking us down with them.
we are of a singular mind. Human resource powers modern nation. Humans who would build entertainment industry that will sell beyond africa...humans who would bring africa into the computer age. Human who would build fashion wears, packaged food etc. Oil has become a bane of our development...its time to look beyond it...and since thats really all niger delta is bringing...its time to look beyond them. We have access to sea in onitsha and asaba tru river niger.
I saw the streets of adis ababa on tv yesterday...i almost shouted. I live abroad and wat i saw on that tv is no different from the alpha city where i live. I knew that abuja and lag whr shitholes immediately.

We are strategically located close to the shore..we can build an economy based on production..and export. Sell them across the shores of africa..to cameroon equitorial guiene, gabon, angola etc.
We can pick asaba, aba, awka, onitsha, enugu, umuahia, abakiliki and owerri as our main cities and concentrate all our population and wealth on them.

And we can start bringin back our old values of accountable leadership. We can do it. Look at even ghana is about to join developed nations

Yorubas don't really know what they want from Nigeria nor their destiny. If Yeebos clamor for secession Yorubas will start their own, if Northerners push an agenda they will equally join them. I don't think Yorubas are people who are ready to do anything tangible to define their destiny in the present Nigeria. The average Igbo man is politically deficient I guess because we never build a kingdom to afford us the experience on how to play national politics. An Hausa shoe shiner is more politically equipped than even an Igbo University graduate.

I listened to Nnamdi Kanu and his followers and I was stunned by the carelessness with which they insulted the Fulani,Hausa and even the Yoruba.

Listen, you see a northerner has nothing to lose , the Yoruba has Lagos and they could careless if you Yeebos burn to ashes. A northern is accustomed to living in a deplorable condition and their mentality is million miles apart from the Igbo man who want to be rich and live an affluent life. The northerner is comfortable with the way their elites exploit them and to them its the wish of ALLAH MAGNIFICENT...LOL. You, the Igbo is the only one concerned with the state of governance. They have nothing to lose and they will do anything humanly possible to frustrate you.
we built the Nri kingdom beyond the river niger and the aro confederacy that streches to uyo. We are not politically defiecient. We are just up against formidable opposition. The yoro moslems are an extention of the vast hausa fulani empire...we are even trying if u ask me.

As for yoro ppl having lagos, lagos is an urban jungle...if u go to paris, brussels, and many european capitals u will see that there are no skyscrapers there...its not about skyscapper...if the igbo business man like don jazzy establishes his biz in enugu and not in lagos, lagos will decline and enugu will grow.

Because we have had bad leaders and bad mindset. Can't you get it into your head that being igbo or yoruba does not guarantee you being a good or bad leader. Get biafra and we will still have the same problem.

Your logic is also wrong as well.

South Africa could have split up because of apartheid, xhosa zulu Indians Dutch British everyone to their own land. They did not. They are currently better than us.

America had a civil war between those who wanted to abolish slavery and those who didn't. Did they split up after even when Abraham Lincoln was assassinated? No. Did Martin Luther King Jr call for all the blacks to secede from America when they were suffering injustice? No. He called for equality and even though he was killed he succeeded.

All these examples of nations with more than one ethnic population are successful. Nigerians be they igbo yoruba haulage or fulani or any of the 250 ethnic groups all suffer under Buhari. The northerners even suffer more due to Herdsmen and Boko Haram which kill hundreds and displace thousands.
ok...u have told me those who didnt break up.. wat about those who did? Ussr and yugoslavia..they are better off now.

We have bad leaders because of ethnic bias and the nigerian bad system...which also stems from ethnic bias.

Kenya is rising fast..things are happening all around us..its time we go into our cultures seperately and bring out the best in us. The world is tired of waiting for africa to get past tribe and religion

I know that some people would rather have an 'Igbo only Biafra' rather than a Biafra that has other tribes in it. I'm open to either. However, having an Igbo only Biafra would cause certain problems.
great contribution as always bro

1) There is hardly any state in the SS that doesnt have an indigenous Igbo/Igbo speaking population. From Igbanke in Edo state to Ika in Delta to Legbo in Cross River to Omuma/Etche/Oyigbo in Rivers. I even heard that there are Indigenous Igbo of Byelsa although I'm yet to confirm this. A referendum has to cover the SS or we risk losing our brothers there.
we already have a working map of igboland. So if we are asking nigeria for a referandum, we would be asking it for the boundry of the map we are working with. The referandum will be done at the local govt or ward level in order to capture where we want.

2) If we are to pursue an Igbo only state then we cannot use the name Biafra. Biafra is about the various ethnic groups that live along the Bight of Biafra. If it is to be just Igbos we will have to come up with a new name, new flag and the national anthem will have to be in Igbo
exactly. We can call it Igboland. It could be a republic or a kingdom...depending on wat we agree. The current biafra flag may be modified a little and the anthem can always be written by great igbo writes and translated in english

3) An Igbo only country will create tension and boundary problems with the closest neighbours of Igbos. Although there is a general map of Igbo land, it is still not well defined
if we get a referandum with the map we are working with....then we would accept the out come. Any igbo sub group that votes not to join...we will remove there territory from the map and redraw the final map. Once land tension start, we deal with it through legal means

4) If we opt for an Igbo only country, what happens to the Ibibio of Abia? The Ego is of Ebonyi and the Igalas of Anambra?
They would be part of it...but if they opt out, then we see how we can carve them back into nigeria...but we would 1st diplomatically ask them to stay with us.
An Igbo only country is not a bad idea but a general referendum based on states makes more sense because Biafra has never been just about Igbos. The last President of Biafra, General Philip Effiong was not an Igbo man
yes..but if we truly want to get biafra, then we must sacrifice and make it an igbo affair. Igbo is recognised as an indegenous nigerian tribe. We can show that igbos have suffered many genocide in nigeria in the hands of the north...biafra is not recognised as anything. We cant push biafra but we can push igbo.

And believe me...if we know wat we are doing, we would get at least authonomy within nigeria.
