Politics › Re: The States Controlled By APC And PDP As It Stands Today. by selemempe: 9:14pm On Aug 06, 2018
With the exception of imo state, the APC states can secede on their own and form a country. That will solve all our problems in this country.

Let apc states secede and go and continue to be ruled by buhari and tinubu

This Iconic pics of Nnamdi kanu would be the 1st time an Igboman would have such a following in Igboland that cuts across state and clan.

He became an Igbo leader, dwarfing the status of govs in SE.

He should have closed ranks with them..maybe he would have eventually become the king maker in south east. And he might even extend his influence to south south.

Damn...i miss Nnamdi Kanu. If he is still alive, let him come back and lead the Igbos (not just IPOB). He is a man of the people.

the world has gone past the time of communists and dictators...plus president of a hypothetical west africa will only have limited powers...mostly on foreign policy, and currency

How if I waste my energy and time voting for Emmanuel in PDP only for him to jump to APC the next day? Doesn't make sense.

How many military coups would have taken place since 1960 ?
Benin had at least 10 if I'm not making any mistake.
Burkina Faso six ( 6)
Mali three ( 3)
Then add Ghana, Nigeria, Bissau Guinea etc.
those coups were possible because of one ethnic group dominating others in these countries u mentioned. Which ethnic group can clearly dominate in west africa? Which ethnic group will produce the coup leader? Hausa? And the Asantis will keep quiet?

NairalandFAYOSE:
pardon my blunders.
I was aware she has a baby before we met but still continued the relationship because the baby is with the father. she told me it was a mistake and the guy's family doesn't support their relationship. so they went their different ways while the guy kept the baby.

when we started, I found out she's humble, hardworking and she's everything I ever wanted in a woman. so we got married 4 years ago and have a 3 year old son and 2 beautiful twins (just 3 months old).

now the problem started when she went to church and her ex brought her 7 years old daughter unannounced. that he's married now and can't continue taking Care of the girl.
she called me from church and told me. immediately I told her not to bring a child thats not mine to me. she now took the baby to her mom and came home to meet me with my kids.
she has been begging me since to allow the baby in our home because the mother gave her 3 days to come and take her baby from her.

nairalanders pls I need your advice on this. those it make sense that I take the baby while the father is out there enjoying his life.
if u love ur wife...then take that child and love her too..u are lucky its a girl...she would grow to see u as dad more than a guy

integration will never work. Currently Nigerians are disliked everywhere...
igbos are disliked by hausa ppl and yoruba but we are in one nigeria. Whites hate blacks in u.s but they are one.

In india, there is a caste system...and they hate each other passionately...but they are the nxt economic power to rise.

We might be hated as nigerians but if ecowas is one country, nigeria will benefit the most. We can now legally live and work anywhere in west africa without suffocating ourselves in an over crowded nigeria. Even if other west africans hate us, they cannot legally deport us or deny us jobs grin...nigeria wins

We can be the biggest african empire only if the leaders of said state are serious and principled on building up said state. Otherwise, this would just be one massive lump of poverty. We must also consider the fact that other states such as Mali, Niger and others are seriously poor compared to the likes of Nigeria and Ghana. The leaders would have to be committed to developing those regions otherwise there would be a massive exodus of Malians, Nigeriens or whoever to places such as Southern Nigeria and metropolitan Ghana.
u are right. But i believe that immigration and emigration is normal within a nation. It helps realign wealth. Many black americans left the south in millions to move up north to states like new york..it helped bring blacks out of poverty without harming the economy of the states they moved to.

Plus there are already millions of malians and nigeriens in nigeria and ghana if u dont know. Do we have border in ecowas? Bcoming one country will only legalise wat has been happening since

We've not managed 36 states, ECOWAS as a single country will last 2 hours before implosion.
hahaha...but it depends on the level of integration tho.

If the president of ecowas (or west african republic) is only in control of military, small federal police, single currency, diplomacy and customs ...no much tension will be witnessed.
Foreign Affairs › If ECOWAS Was One Country by selemempe(op):
If ECOWAS was one nation called the Federal Republic Of West Africa, it will have a land area of 5,114,162 km2, making it the 7th largest country in the world (almost 2 times larger than India).

It will have an estimated population of 340 million people, making it the 3rd most populous country in the world (larger than U.S).

It will have a nominal GDP of approximately $700 billion (19th largest in the world and 1st largest in africa), and a GDP PPP of $1.5 Trillion (also 19th and 1st largest). Its per capita income at GDP PPP will be $4500 (17th in Africa).

If ECOWAS comes together as one country, we would have a single, large and diverse Military, which means that despotic leaders will no longer be able to use the military to target ethnic groups they hate.
We would have a single currency which would invariably be the most traded in Africa.
We would no longer have coups in West Africa because it will be hard for top military officials of the very ethnic and religiously diverse nation to agree on a coup.
We would no longer have a dominant ethnic group or religion, what we will have instead is a dominant state (Nigeria).
We would have 3 official languages of English, French and Poturguese, making us the nation that speaks the most number of global languages in the world.
Nigerians would no longer be ejected in Ghana legally.

If ECOWAS was one nation, it will be by far the most powerful nation or empire ever in Africa.

What do you think of this?

I have said what is the solution to the nigeria problem today but they deleted it after 5 minutes, why do people enjoy living in denial?
the solution to the nigeria problem is BIAFRA, let biafra go and every other group will find the reason to go too and this will make every group to think deep outside oil which in know is the only reason you are still hearing of nigeria today. I know that every group has what it takes and the brains to succeed as a country
the solution to make NIGERIA work cannot be biafra. Biafra is wat will make Igbos only to work

Issues like epileptic power supply, bad roads, poor education system, poor health care, etc, are all symptoms of the problem.

For Nigeria to witness a period of peace and prosperity for the first time since the 60s, it first has to be reset back to factory setting; ie, return back to the structure agreed upon by all the regions prior to independence (of course with slight modifications to reflect present day realities).

Every region should have the autonomy to be able to chart its own economic journey without having to wait for Abuja to give the greenlight on everything! They should own the resources found within their regions/states and pay a tax or percentage of profits to the centre like was done in the 60s. Critical economic enablers like seaports and aviation should be on the concurrent list so regions/states are not beholden to the whims and caprices of Abuja and whosoever happens to be the president at the time. Regions/states should have their own police and constitutions. The centre should be made less attractive like it was in the 60s when the likes of Ahmadu Bello preferred to be Premier of his region rather than Prime Minister of Nigeria. Quota system should be phased out over say a ten year period, and merit should be the primary consideration for getting appointments at the centre. Recruitment and appointments can be handled by a international recruitment organisation....this would help spur regions on to compete with one another when the playing field is level and fair, and Nigeria would be better off for it.

If the above is done, it would engender a new sense of nationalism and pride for ones country, the kind of which hasn't been witnessed since the early 60s! Not only that, it would also it take the wind out of the sails of separatist organisations like IPOB, and would encourage FDIs and tourism which as a consequence would push Nigeria into the league of the top ten most developed countries within ten to fifteen years!
drinks are on me bro...take anything u want.

Wat i have been saying since. Recognise the 6 geopolitical zones as the federating units. Make north central and south south to be a minority-only zone. Which means the hausa-fulani and the yorubas found in north central should be joined with north west, north east and south west respectively. The igbos of ss should be joined with se.

Allow zones to own 50% of their resources. Allow zones to create their own local govt or provinces. Allow MOST things to be on concurrent list so that zones and fg can participate.

Offshore oil should then be shared equally among all zones and fg as a national asset. But the south south zone should get a little more than others in offshore oil sharing since oil minning infrastructure is in their region

Let the states have enough powers to make policies, control their resources and develop independently

Instead of dragging the whole country in any policy, let policies be made and implemented at sub national level

For instance, national feeding program is rubbish, the respective states should be doing that to appreciate the impact
Southern states don't appreciate it cos we are not so comfortable about strangers feeding our children not to talk of the idea that we should be fed at all
But northern states are comfortable because, waiting and lining up to be fed is somehow their way of life

Instead of wasting billions on transmission to interconnect the entire country, why not each state becomes autonomous in generation and distribution
good. Thats restructuring...what about sharing oil money? Cos if we are talking restructure, we should also talk about resource control

Not to mention that the food is grass and chaff from rice mills etc. These drastically reduce the money spent on food as wildly growing grass can be collected and put in a pick-up and mixed with other items to make the feed.
in the pics u posted, i saw the cows eating some already cut grass..can u tell me how a cattle ranch with up to 200 cows can get grasses...cos i dont want to go and be cutting grass myself? Also can u tell me how many plots of land will be good for an operation of 200 cows (using the standard 50 feet by 100 feet plot measurement)

State Government through collaboration with Departments of agriculture in universities & / Ministry of agriculture must help evolve a high yield cow specie for our ranchers.
Very very importantly, the use of artificial insemination techniques will help boost the herd number very quickly. Speaking of artificial insemination, it is critically important to cross-breed the milk producing cows seen in southern africa, Europe and Israel with local breed of cows (Efi-Igbo) which is well adapted to our environment.

In this way, you will have species of cows with high milk production and also well adapted genetically to our environment. One or two of male and female variants of these Israeli or European cows should be flown into the country and cross-bred with our local cows to create a genetically high yield variant.

These things can be done easily if state governments take issue of animal protein production seriously as was done for rice recently.
nice...but i wont wait for gov to act b4 i start my cattle biz. I want to start with the normal efi igbo. If somewhere along the line govt decides to introduce these breeds, i will tap into it.

Can u tell me a few things about efi igbo...pls i appreciate

WomanOfRace:
Yes, so many solutions but then, who will listen to you?
Our politicians knows the solution but the last concern on their mind is Nigeria and Nigerians.

Our government is a government of section, money and power. They are not after the state of the country or the affairs of the people, they are too old, lame, corrupt, most of them illiterates, and greedy enough to know what to do and concerned enough to do them.

Again, we the citizens are part of the problem too. Amalgamation of Nigeria to start with is so wrong! Just look at the way we reason as different tribes and tell me if Nigeria will ever achieve that height? We are too different to agree to achieve.
so in essence u are saying we cant progress. Cos the question is how can we change every bad thing happening in nigeria to enter the path of sustainable development
