Lajet:noted again and corrected. I dont know onitsha origin...only them know |
OMANBALA1:noted. I wont tell anybody his origin. And origin is not why i created this thread. Getting more lands into south east is why i created this thread and u guys are ruining it with origin. Why will ikenna0b just wanna spoil an intelligent and brotherly discuss with curses and division. If u already have asaba...why want onitsha again? U already have 8 lga in anioma. U already have a developed capital...u have oil and u already have a serving governor....why drag a mighty onitsha into it...if u are not being mischevious? If onitsha falls into anioma then must that either it or asaba will definitely suffer neglect. Just see how warri is...that is how onitsha will be in few years...a mighty mess. Gosh how can ppl not see clear reason? U dont need onitsha bro...just remove it from the discuss...it wont be of benefit to u..but it would be a huge burden. Monthly allocation would be spread thin trying to build asaba and onitsha...gosh ikenna0b u should know all these na |
Ikenna0b:I was being harsh on some folks here....now i see that u played the biggest part in ruining the thread. Let me ask u...wat is the difference between someone from Afikpo and another from Abia state or imo state? Non. But do u think any sane igbo man cares that afikpo is in ebonyi state and not in imo or abia? Onitsha is already in south east and one with the igbos and u are here simply causing division? How do u think any igboman will support the inclusion of onitsha in anioma state when its obvious that anioma has not accepted their igbo origin. The onitsha village that was founded by bini people or whatever u guys claim is no longer the onitsha of 2018. This thing u are doing was not why i created this thread. I created this thread to shape opinion about anioma state agitation getting the backing of se leaders in exchange that when created it would be part of south east. How then do u think any se leader will support an anioma state that wants to carve out onitsha into the hands of people who have not ALL agreed their igbo origin. U are just bringing division bro... nothing else...and it seems u are doing it on purpose. The only way onitsha being included in a proposed Anioma state for the south east zone is if it would be pre-agreed that onitsha would be the capital of Anioma state. That is however costly as Asaba already has the necessary govt buildings to be the state capital. Which means onitsha in anioma is most likely not going to get enough backing. And no...its not entirely up to onitsha folks to decide. Onitsha has just one senator..the rest of south east has 14. They wont back anioma state with an onitsha in it that wont be the capital |
Sinistami:japan have one tribe and similar culture...england and many european countries too...even arabs As for u.s..they may have different tribes but they have one western culture defined by christianity and freedom Nigeria is another matter altogether...the fulani ppl are arabic while the igbo ppl are more pro western. The north has sharia while the south is free.. We just dont mix at all. Only our skin color makes us one |
Those saying ipob 'got it right this time' on this thread are fools. Ipob has been getting it right...but u guys choose the one dat plays to ur one nigeria beliefs |
OMANBALA1:Actually u have not been polite all thru...i created this post and i have watched u and ariesbull destroy it. |
The thing that makes me crazy is that if this happened in Gej era, and if the minister in question is Igbo, the west would have turned the whole thing into a national protest. Yorubas are not progressives...they are just docile opportunists with double standards |
horsepower101:ok...u can copy it and paste it there...i will contribute to it there...if u paste it |
NgeneUkwenu:u mind is as wicked as that of a demon. I wish all u have ever wished on people online becomes ur portion. U want police to waste him without proper investigation? |
horsepower101:creating Anioma state and adding it to south east zone is not the last thing we need. The other zones have 6 states each. NW even has 7 states. Only se has 5. That means other zones have at least 18 senators while se only has 15. We need more senators to be able to positively influence issues in Nass. That some few people turned it into a bashing thread shows their own immaturity. It doesnt mean that the topic is useless. Se needs more land. If the geoploitical zones are recognised eventually in constitution, that is when u will see that we would be the weakest geopolitical zone. Currently the se is not even as big as niger state alone I insist the topic should be given a voice until it reaches the ears of igbo leaders |
ghostfacekillar:Am the one who created this thread...i just dey look at our people's naivety. The monicas ariesbull and OMANBALA1 has really dissapointed me in this thread. I believe they are igbo. How they allowed impostors like juliusmalema trick them into turning the thread to a tribal bashing thread is sad. I created the thread not to tag all Anioma people as Igbo but to point out that they might be just the extra state the south east needs now. But ppl turned it into another thing. The Anioma being igbo or not has little bearing in them being a south east state. Those of them who self-identify as igbo would reap all the benefits of being igbo if they are in se...while those who dont identify as igbo will still take pride in the fact that they are now an independent state...something which they have clamoured since the 1950s. The idea of onitsha being part of a proposed Anioma state is not true. The proposed Anioma state is majorly being carved out of delta state and edo state. There is no proposition i have seen where onitsha was proposed as part of anioma state. That Ikenna0b said it doesnt make it so. But ariesbull turned it into a war. I say that he needs to tone it down. Diplomacy is key here like bede2u said. And that is wat we lack. We Igbos from se will benefit from the fact that Aniomaland will open up for us for investment and settlement...a win-win situation. And if biafra is being agitated, at least we know that Anioma is already with us. In that way we wont need to tag the whole delta state as biafra..even when they say they are not |
MrMystrO:go to Botswana Namibia Mauritius.. all are african countries doing better than eastern european countries. Our problem is by the colonial power...england and france. In asia they respected religious and ethnic boundaries but in africa they lumped everybody together without regard to values and culture. No african country is homogeneous..thats why frequent bickering occurs |
gidgiddy:All u said are simple legislative processes. They might look cumbasome...but they are actually simple. The north got sharia through legislative means. The midwestern region left the western region thru legislative means. The clamour for state police would be achieved soon and it would be through legislative means. If se interest are to be aggregated, the most burning one should be the creation of one more state for se. It should even come b4 restructuring because it is wen we have the numbers in NASS that we can influence restructuring to favour us also. If anioma ppl want their own state (and they do) and se ppl want an extra state (and we do)...the nxt thing is to team up and make it a national issue..even b4 restructure. One extra state for se and then the recognition of the geopolitical zones in the constitution followed by restructuring. All can be gotten in a democracy if our foolish politicians are not just in abuja to answer name and live large. paramakina202:no. Am from se |
xtravanganza:It is delta north senatorial zone. Just after onitsha head bridge |
oooduancalmdown:while i am with u on that, being a strong ipob member, i however have to say that the power we have as nigerians, we may not have agaim if we break up. The problems we have might be solved if we restructure properly. A restructure that allows ethnic groups scattered all over different 'states' to come together. A restructure that allows groups to control the security and economy. A restrucure where the fg concentrates on millitary, finance policy, and foreign policy mainly. A restructure where offshore oil belongs to fg and not to niger delta (like in the u.s). A restructure where by sharia law, and other cultural and religious law is removed from our mainstream politics. Where govt doesnt sponsor pilgrims. If we cant get all these in restructure, then it is best to disintegrate |
gidgiddy:its not impossible. Presure only has to be put on NASS. The necessary laws can be madr to accomodate it. But first the south east (which is the zone that needs one extra state for equity) needs to come together and decide that we will all support Anioma state for the south east zone. Other state agitations in the se will cease in favour of only anioma. Ekweremadu is the chairman of consitutional review...he can do something about it. We need more lands in se. No need to further break any se state to create an inviable state. |
iamkeyz:lol. Some of them...especially from Agbor or Ika insist they are not Igbos. That their origin is bini. But i know the politics behind all that...I believe once they join south east all those talk will reduce or die. Am sure some Ebonyi people too would have claimed cross river if they werent carved into ebonyi |
oooduancalmdown:we are of a similar mind. Why would someone whose name is bukola say that he is not yoruba. On wat basis was states and zones created in nigeria? For instance why did the british divide up the southern protectorate btw east and west but didnt divide the north even wen it was clear that the middle beltans had a different ethnicity All was done to allow hausa to dominate |
I need views on this from anioma people and igbo people Modified: So after getting views from different people, I came to the conclusion of the following (as at the time the thread was at 34 pages) 1. Many Anioma people want to get Anioma state for south east. 2. Many Anioma people now believe that they might infact be part of the larger Igbo nation. 3. Some Anioma people from mostly Ika dont feel like joining south east nor identifying as Igbo 4. Most Anioma people believe onitsha should be part of Anioma state. 5. Most south easterners are willing to accept Anioma as the 6th south east state if they will drop their claim of onitsha. 6. Most Anambra folks are of the opinion that the current onitsha metropolis has far out grown what it was in the 60s and therefore cant be part of Anioma anymore. 7. Most Anambra folks would not want onitsha carved out of Anambra. 8. Some south east folks want a signed document from Anioma traditional and elected leaders saying that they would forever be part of south east before igbos can officially support the creation of an Anioma state. |
Still on this matter, I know many people from Anioma axis think that they should be a seperate ethnic group. How ever its a fact that they answer Igbo names, speak a dialect of the Igbo language, have Igbo traditions and share a border with mainland south east. Yes they may also have a connection to the binis but for some reason they did not evolve bini names, language nor culture. They evolved Igbo There is never going to be a way in this country that a man whose name is Chibuzo Dike will not be regarded as Igbo by everybody. Why do u think it was Gej and not peter odili that became yaradua's vp. Why do u think Kaduna Nzeogwu's coup is regarded as an Igbo coup. We the Igbos of se only agreed to be called igbos recently too. Otherwise before the white men came, we were Ngwa people, Bende people, Nsukka people, Agbenu people, Wawa people etc etc just like you are Anioma people. There has never been (and will never be) a central Igbo ruler. What we have as Igbos is our shared language and culture. Nothing else. A DNA check might reveal that the Aba people are more brotherly to the Akwaibom people than they are to the onitsha people. However, all that dont matter any more. What matters is that in the 21st century, we all speak the same language and share same culture. Let Anioma state be created and joined with the south east for the following reasons [1] It will be a predominantly Igbo-speaking state [2] Even if the people do not consider themselves Igbo, there are more cultural ties that bond them with other states in the south-east geo-political zone than the south south geopolitical zone 3] Aniomans have always been treated as second class Igbos because they were part of the Western Region and Bendel States. If they are made part of the south-east, that will stop. [4] Let us face it, the Urhobos, Itshekhiris and Ijaws in Delta State outnumber the Aniomas and would not allow them to achieve dominant positions within the state [5] At the moment, the south-east is the one zone crying out for more states. [6] There is nothing wrong with states in one zone being on different sides of the River Niger. Remember that Benue State is south of the river, as is Kwara State, yet they are in the north central zone. [7] According to Cornelius Adebayo, the Yorubas in Kwara and Kogi States want to create Oya State and make it part of the south-west. If this happens, a precedence has been set. [8] I know a lot of Aniomans have a deep afinity towards Benin and Edo but being part of the south-east does not mean this will end. The Yorubas of Ilorin do not stop celebrating the Oro festival just because they are in the north-central political zone. [9] A lot of Aniomans have not been able to occupy positions their abilities deserve because they have been victims of not being clear cut members of ethnic groups. For instance Senator Patrick Osakwe of Asaba could not be put forward for senate president, despite the fact that he is probably the most qualified Igbo-speaking senator for the job. Being part of the sout-east will resolve this. [10] Creating Anioma State and making it part of the south-east, should lead to an increased westward migration of Igbos. This is necessary because of the high population density in the region which is putting pressure on resources, leading to a host of social problems. What are your thoughts. Remember the south needs more states to be able to challenge the north in the national assembly and south east particularly need one more state to be able to have an equal voice with other zones in Abuja.

smellingmenses:ngeneukwenu is now ipob lol. The igbos just grab popcorn dey look una. U guys from north and west are both in power and in opposition all by urselves |
Lonestar124:this view is very myopic...parties are not ur problem...politicians are |
Let me tell the op this: 1. Christians and muslims all over the world dont see eye to eye. And generally it has been discovered that the muslims always try to dominate and impose their views once they have a large number (not necessarily majority). We see it in lebanon, Egypt, turkey and Nigeria at large and we also see it in yorubaland. The muslims want to lead others always. It wont change. No secular country can ever be at peace if it has a large muslim population. Nigeria is no exeception. 2. The structure left to us by the british would have been the best for a nation to live peacefully. Each region had control over their resourses, security and economy. There was referandum which was used to create the midwest region and to carve out southern cameroon. Today things are decided for 180 million ppl in abuja! By bigots who hate them. Buhari that hates igbos will now gv a damn that ppl are dying or give referendum for biafra? Peace can never be achieved with our current structure. 3. Our ideology are not the same. We shouldnt be one country. Its not about religion. I can tell u now that i as an igbo xtian has more in common with a Yoruba muslim than i do with an hausa/fulani pastor. |
