MetaPhysical: In those countries a Colonel is in the same tier level with a Regional Director of a big Corporation. No one pays a regional director any attention when he is outside in public. When the Colonel is in public space no one cares about his rank. His rank only matters in the barracks....but in the barracks, no one cares if he is Ibo or not....to them he is government property!
To you Ibo, if you have a General in the US Army the world will not sleep. If Barack Obama was Ibo the planet....all the way to far away Pluto will hear your noise....and they will wonder if you are new to State Rulership, or whats the big deal!
listen...Igbos are not as loud as yorubas....a tribe that prides itself as being 'mouthed'. Igbo was part of PDP govt for 16 years without feeling the need to insult or malign any part of the opposition... Yoruba won with APC in 2015 and can't stop shouting.
If you have Igbo and yoruba neighbors...the ones that are always shouting ah ah ah upanda will ALWAYS be yorubas... true or false?
Who opens thread to show how Ogun state igr is bigger than Nigeria? Which tribe in Nigeria has told other tribes to leave their region severally?
Who has heard word since woke Soyinka won Nobel prize
Oshin56: If this news is true may God rest his soul in perfect peace and this are the reason why white man is different from Blackman. Hardly you will see this thing coming from Blackman so far there salary is still coming.
to honourably resign sef na wahala for black heads
Irrelevant question. When Ijaws come to marry Igbos, do they identify as Igbos?
Nigeria government don't dictate for people who to marry or not marry. If marriage unite people, Nigeria will be united, because Nigerians have been inter marrying for ages. Many Igbos are married to Yorubas and vice versa, marriage never solved anything. It shows nothing, it's a personal decision and can be annulled at any moment by parties involved.
Yes, marriage is a personal issue, you dont tell adults who or who not to marry, you don't have control over that. The most you can do is to put conditions in place that reward those who marry within the group. To decide who is Igbo is simple. Those groups like Ikwerres already claimed they are not Igbos and have floated their independent ethnic nationality. You simply expel all Ikwerre persons from Ohanaeze Ndiigbo and all Igbo groups, then you issue communique informing the public that Ikwerres and co are not Igbos. If Ikwerres wish to challenge it. They should speak through Ogbako Ikwerre and denounce ever floating an independent ethnicity outside Igbo. If they don't, like I suspect they wouldn't, then we would have gotten our wish done. Simple.
We don't have the power to tell them who to appoint. But we have the power to ensure they and the world know that whoever they picked outside our recognized Igbo ethnic map, is not Igbo and do not represent us. When Buhari insinuated that Emefiele and Kachiukwu were Igbos, Ndiigbo couldn't contest it, because as of today, Ohaneze Ndiigbo and all relevant Igbo organizations still recognize Ika(Emefiele)and Enu-ani (Kachiukwu) as part of parcel of Igboland and indeed do have persons from those parts as members of Ime-obi of Ohanaeze. If we had done the house cleaning early on, and for example denounced Enu-ani and Ika, and went on to no longer welcome persons from there in Ohanaeze Hierarchy, we would have been able to respond to Buhari question by emphatically stating that those persons are not Igbos and so couldn't be our representatives. For example, because we don't claim GEJ Ogbia as Igbos nor do we have people from there as members of our organizations, we could afford to support GEJ, without anyone saying that GEJ presidency was Igbo presidency.
Don't be funny, we reserve the rights on who is and isn't Igbo. Ohanaeze Ndiigbo is funded by SE states governments. Ohanaeze Ndiigbo is the Igbo apex organization. Any one we say is not part of us, is not part of us. Don't be ridiculous. We don't have the power to stop the denials, no one ever had the power to make lovers of haters. Buy they always have the powers to quarantine themselves from haters by simply avoiding them.
I have evidence that the average Ikwerre, Ogba, Ekpeye, Etche man want to have nothing to do with Ndiigbo or Igbo language. Rivers state is not far away. Anyone interested can always visit and find out on their own. The BBC are business oriented and have to carter for the wishes of their audience, I know this because that's what is obtainable in business world. The Northern minorities are comfortable with Hausa language, I have been there. Every sincere person knows this, but your emotions of always looking for who to blame (FG, Britain, Hausa-Fulani, Non Igbo minorities, etc) have blinded you.
The Ikwerre, Ogba, Etche, Ekpeye want nothing that links them to Igbo. And that's exactly what Igbo language is. Hausa language is taught in schools virtually all Northerner states, bar Benue,Kogi, and Kwara. Igbo is not taught in Rivers state, because that's how the native wants it. Nobody is dividing the East. Those Igboids want nothing to do with you, stop blaming everyone else (FG, Britain, Ijaws,Hausa-Fulani, Yoruba) for their actions. It's pathetic.
Important opinions are formed by sampling the individual opinion of the vast majority of the people in question, the opinion their elites, and opinions of their organizations. The Ikwerre man in street of Obio Akpor is very Igbophobic, the Ikwerre elites led by Ogbakor Ikwerre are Igbophobic. Ikwerres on their Facebook pages are strongly Igbophobic. Why have you chosen to be willfully blind and continue to deny the obvious? You are emotional when you refuse to accept the reality, but choose to hold unto wishes and delusions.
The Ikwerre elites know the game Amaechi was playing. He claimed he is Igbo because he understands Igbo language. Not really because he is Igbo And recently, he talked about why Igbos would struggle to produce presidency, and in that rant, he referred to Igbos as "they ". Someone is playing you, and you can't even see it, because you can't get past your emotions.
What's this supposed to mean? APGA once won a seat in Nasarawa or so. APGA is a national party.
Nnamdi Kanu is not a serious person. Dude parked in Obiigbo and gyrated all day with Igbos there, then left and claimed he went to Ph. He could have come to Rumu villages and test his popularity there. I doubt you have ever been to Rumu villages before, you come across to me like someone who doesn't even know anything about what's on ground in these areas.
Do you know that you can't buy land in Ogbaland as an Igbo man? A Yoruba man would buy, Hausa will buy, heck! A man from Namibia will buy, but Nwa isoma cannot buy.
Northern minorities are all comfortable with Hausa language as their ligua franca. This is not even up for debate. We are not talking about forming Arewa republic for now. We are dissecting why BBC Igbo didn't include Rivers Igboid, but included Delta Igbos. They merely reflected the reality on ground, which you don't know because you are not a grassroot person, or you know but prefer the bliss that ignorance offers.
Go to Rumu villages or Omoku and tell them they are Igbo. They will kill you. Your Demi god, Nnamdi Kanu will not try it. He knows the truth, because he has Igbo members there, but he isn't interested in that, because he has a different agenda?
Those Igboids opted for severance from us. They threw us under the bus when we needed them. The Hausa-Fulani might have helped their cause, they (Hausa/Fulani)served merely as catalysts, but that's exactly what they(Igboids) wanted. Ikwerres were the ones who renamed all Umus to Rumus, they are the ones who mutilated their names to wash off any Igbo in them, it was not done by any Hausa Fulani. Wike named a public structure after Gowon recently, and made funny comments about Ndiigbo during the opening ceremony, it was not done by Hausa-Fulanis. Ekwueme was the one who proposed SS. It wasn't Hausa Fulani. Those lots Igbophobia had reached a crescendo and Ekwueme knew we needed a space from them. Do you know that in the presidential elections of 1979 and 1983, Awolowo and Shagari got more votes from Rivers state, than Zik did. That's the natural default settings of the people , it was not done by your imaginary BBC, Hausa/Fulani , or Yoruba enemies. And by the way, there is nothing like Eastern region, it's defunct and stopped existing since 1970. There is nothing like SE and SS. It's simple SE. This madness needs to stop already.
This is my issue with you lots, you are busy chasing shadows and leaving real deal. Who told you that Umuezekoha are not under any pressure? The people have been so much marginalized for being Igboid in Benue state that many Benue people don't even know they exist. They enrolled into Biafran army during the war and have not been forgiven for it by their neighbors. They have no roads, no drinkable water source, nobody in government. It's almost like they don't exist. They have every reason to disclaim Igbo, declare new ethnicity, start bashing Igbos to please their neighbors, and maybe they might be forgiven, but they haven't, and because of it, you think they are not under any pressure. You rather run after opportunists in Ikwerre and make excuses for them for their shameful actions, by blaming everyone from Britain to FG, Hausa/Fulani, Ijaws, BBC, etc and finally Pazienza. Nde-ewo. Jisike.
Urhobo and Isoko have always been distinct from the beginning. The main example should be Urhobo and Okpe, and mind you, Urhobo people are not taking it so easy with Okpe lukewarm attitude to Urhobo ethnic nationality . Efik and Ibibio have always been distinct. You should have used Ijaw and Nembe, Ogonis don't take Eleme recent denials lightly. It has always been a source pain for them. If Nembe and Okpe end up declaring independent ethnic, the Ijaws and Urhobo will not take it lightly.
you have made a few exaggerations in this post that clearly shows you are emotional about this topic and take it personal.
1. You claim an Igbo man can't buy land in ogba but a yoruba man can...that's a childish lie that shows you want to whip up sentiment. Land is a very personal thing. It is even more personal than marriage. A family can disown a child for who they marry but when it comes to land, it will purely depend on the buy and the seller to reach an agreement. A random check in ogba will reveal a few lands owned by Igbos. Someone who needs money urgently will sell his property to someone who is paying ...not your emotions.
2. You claim that going to Rumu villages to tell them they are Igbo will result in being killed. Another exaggerated opinion presented as fact...meant to whip up emotions. A random check will reveal that a few Rumu people themselves have attended ohaneze meeting recently. Also you say it as if Ikwere are criminal killers running about being reckless...it would seem you are even afraid of them...lol how come we have never heard of someone killed in rivers for saying ikwere is igbo? Oh wait... pazienza, you didn't need to tell these childish lies.
3. Your advice of having ohaneze publicly rejecting ikwere is the height of irresponsibility. Like Igbos dont have enough enemies so we need to publicly add ikwere to the list. What do you think you will achieve once you do that? That's a declaration of war. What would happen is that you will then have a renewed coldness between us and them and the rest of Nigeria will side with them. Because now you have clearly drawn lines and asked people to choose sides. As at today, our destines are still tied together. An Ikwere man will most likely be bypassed when an igbo is being bypassed...but once ohaneze does the recklessness you have advised, an Ikwere man would be elevated by the rest of Nigeria to spite the Igbos. You will lose big time and when you do, you will start telling sob stories of how Igbo is being marginalized...lol. if Nigeria decides to make Amaechi president today, Igbos can still adopt him as our son and he can still sentimentaly adopt us as his larger base ...after all he was once made Igbo man of the year by sunnews and he accepted the award. There is currently room for sentimental cooperation....make that announcement and see the cooperation change to very bitter enmity....one that is highly unnecessary.
Your approach stems from emotions and feelings....any discerning mind can see this. You don't know stone cold politics... It has a lot to do with diplomacy.
SlayerForever: Anybody working tooth and nail to see that the Ikwerre are completely ejected from the Igbo nation is a Fulani by their actions. This is because they are working towards the exact same thing the Fulani controlled government have been after since 1970. You're in the same boat as the Fulani.
Forget the prevailing foolishness of the Ikwerre for now and work to get them fully on board again. Nigeria has been working on them for over 50 years. Nigeria has the edge currently but gradually and with all hands on deck we can change the tide. They are our brothers. Iwe nwanne adiro elu n'okpukpu. Onye aghala nwanne ya. It's only a matter of time. Stop working for the Fulani. At the very worst be neutral on the issue.
pazienza at the very worst be neutral on this topic
emperorshaokahn: i love and respect your write ups man,but we should know that this ikwerre issue is very complicated, what if they(ikwerres) and other igbo denaires sabotage and work against a new igbo nation(biafra, that is if or when we get it)?.what if they turn around and make biafra another nigeria?(a country with many opposing tribes)?.personally for me anyone or group(s)who is still igbophobic in this year 2020 should go to hell, such people should not be part of any igbo nationhood, and lastly ikwerres should be the ones begging igbos not the other way round cause they(ikwerres) would be in a very serious and severe situation if igbos today forms biafra and left them alone, they would be a lamb for slaughter for the vengeful hausa/fulani and spiteful yorubas and other igbophobic south south ethnic minorities.they need us more than we need them.anaway i think we should not fight or rain insults among ourselfs since ultimately our sole aim and goal is to see a greater and united igbo nation.
so you compare the division between an Hausa Moslem and an Igbo Christian with the division between an igbo Christian and an Ikwere or ika Christian? So you compare an Igbo Biafra with ikwere and ika with Nigeria that has 270 registered ethnic groups? Ok.
Forget about Biafra...tell me what Igbo has lost today by claiming ikwere...I know you know that igbos claim ikwere.
You can't throw Ikwerres under the bus when doing so is vital and expedient to furthering Igbo interests, when you have Ikwerre people like Okwukwu in your apex organizations where you are supposed to discuss on secret agendas. You seem to be contraindicating yourself.
Igbo fragmented since 1970. It got redefined. It's the truth we have to deal with, and after 50yrs of trying to pretend like nothing changed, i think it's time we accept things as they currently are and work with with we have, which is still alot. Igbos holding unto the self destructive opinion of Ikwerre and their co-travellers in Rivers being Igbo, is akin to a man whose leg is dead and decaying, saying that the doctors should not amputate the leg, because he doesn't want his enemies to see that he is now crippled and mock him for it. It's a stupid thing to do, because the toxins from the decayed legs would certainly kill the man, yet the enemies all still know that the man is as good as a man without legs, since the decayed legs can't help the man stand, let alone walk or run, and worst still. The enemies would even be happy to have the decayed leg attached to the man because they know it would eventually kill the man.
But if the man can accept his present realities, get the necrotic leg amputated, he can then work on getting high tech prosthetic limbs, he can live and do lots of things, he can even invest in body part transplant researches that would one day see him live to see a day he could be transplanted with another organic limb that is 100% as good as his own, he could live to give birth to children who would have limbs, he can do alot of things. All need do is accept his current reality and work with it.
Well, the Igbo will eventually come to the reality that Ikwerres are toxic to us as a people, and do the needful by expelling all Ikwerres from Igbo gatherings. We would definitely do this, if we ever wish to move on and grow again as a dominant group. There is no two ways about it. No Igboman who lives in Rivers state want to have anything to do with Ikwerres and their likes . It's usually ignorant Igbos who are totally ignorant of the reality on ground that run along with the Ikwerres bu Igbo delusions, based on interactions with one or two opportunist Ikwerres they met outside Rivers state.
I will not give up on Ndigbo, I will continue providing the us with the bitter truth, it is my utmost belief that the Igbo are a wise people, and that my contributions so far on this issue must have sparked off deep retrospective thinking in the minds of any Igbo person that comes across my posts so far.
I joined NL years ago as a teenager, only because I seek to promote Igbo advancement, and to debunk attempts by bitter Nigerian groups to paint Ndiigbo black. To that purpose, I have over the years continuously defended Igbo interests here and provided my opinions on what I genuinely believe is the way forward for Ndiigbo.
see You are a true igbo son and I won't say anything to the contrary because we disagree in this topic. However your analogy about dead legs and so doesn't fit. As at today today today, we lose nothing if we add ikwere into igbo. Nobody is laughing at Igbos and hoping that we keep attaching to ikwere and get burnt...for one they hope we will stop saying ikwere is Igbo
You act as if ikwere are a bad people waiting in a corner to take what is coming to igbos when that is actually not what is on ground. They are actually every day people with a lot to worry about daily other than Igbo or identity. You were insulted by an Ikwere for being Igbo...so? What about the ikwere who are putting Igbo on the map like Tonto dike, Monalisa Chinda etc? When posts like these come up, why do you think Yoruba posters always tell us to 'leave them alone they say they are not igbos'? You think it's because they care about us or Ikwerre? Lol...
It's always good practice for igbos to do the exact opposite of what yorubas want.
pazienza: Ikwerre, Etche, Ekpeye and Ogba are not Igbos. These people are opportunists and resents you as an Igbo more than they do Yorubas and Hausas. I know it's painful, but it's the truth. Accept it, make peace with it, learn from it, let the pain serve as a motivation to make Igbo great.
I stand for Igbo Unity (SE plus Umuezekhoha and whatever is remaining of Enuani who are still comfortable with their Igbo identity and have no Igbophobia, if with time they all turn Igbophobic, then we must discard them too).
The Igbo is sick and dying because we have too many necrotic tissues (Opportunists ) attached to us. We need to totally excise all the dead tissues attached to us, so that we can heal and grow once again. It's about time we started this important project. I still stand for Igbo unity. Ikwerre, Etche, Ekpeye Ogba and what other Igboid out there that is not comfortable with being Igbo ARE not Igbos. Anyone thinking of allowing those opportunists to continue taking advantage of Ndiigbo, by classifying them as Igbos is not a friend of Ndiigbo.
the Ikas deny being Igbo the most... much more than even ikwere can ever do and they even have a strong bases for that, their language is not intelligible with normal igbo....but guess what, when Godwin Emefiele was made CBN governor Buhari himself claimed that he gave Igbos the most important portfolios in his government...lol
The rest of Nigeria will come together to give these people what is due to Igbos to spite us... your shouting that they are not igbo is not new to anyone. Ikwere and ika are both registered ethnic groups in Nigeria constitution yet talk with an average yoruba, he will tell you they are igbos...I repeat that is what you must make peace with and accept and leverage on. For now we win if we include them..we lose nothing by including them... but whether we include them or not will never stop Nigerians from including them when it suits other Nigerians Peter Odili lost the chance of being VP because he was Igbo...yet it was obj who included his tribe as an ethnic group in 1979
No one gives them preference over non Igbos in marriages. Igbos intermarry with all minority ethnic groups in defunct Eastern region. From Ijaw, to Ogoni, to Ibibio/Annang/Efik, to Ekoids. It just so happened that Ikwerre men have insatiable taste for Igbo women rather than marrying their own women, the prefer to marry our ladies, they even discuss about it in their forums, it's a big issue for them. Marriage issues are not national issues, they are individual issues, so I don't know the naivety you speak of.
We don't have control over this. But we have control over who should be Igbo and who shouldn't, we have the power to ensure that Igboid groups who want to exploit our pains at the hands of FG for their own clannish upflitment are thwarted. We have the power to ensure that only groups willing to suffer with us and beat the FG hurdles gets the right to be Igbo. We have the power to weed off and baracade off opportunists like Ikwerres who has cunningly mastered the delicate act of taking advantage of our own pains for their own political and economic advancement. A wise people would exercise this power, while an emotional people will not. You are the emotional one who can't separate opportunists from real kins, I'm the ruthless one who is ready to throw the opportunists under the bus and move the Igbo forward. A brother who cannot identify with you to see off a bully, and is too quick to deny kinship with you when the bully approaches, because he doesn't want to sustain injuries for standing with you, but is only willing to identify with you, only if you are able to overcome the bully, is no brother, because trust me, the whole school will identify with you when you win the bully, you will be a fool to continue referring to this opportunist as a brother. Don't get it twisted, I was once in your boat, but I grew, I evolved, I got over emotions with time, and now I can see clearly, you might one day do same, but I hope it doesn't you long, because we can't afford to waste another 50yrs.
Again, you speak of things not within our control, while I speak on things within our control. We are Igbos,we might not be able to decide who is Igbo, but we sure have the power to decide who isn't. We simply expel them from our ethnic organizations, and raise hell whenever any Nigerian tries to label them Igbos. We do this, we would have set a solid foundation for out next advancement.
This is my problem with people like you. Your emotions blind you from seeing what's is starring right at you. You keep making up excuses for those Igbophobic Igboids in Rivers state, you are too emotional to see the truth. You blame everyone but those Igboids for their own actions, you blame their fellow minorities, especially the Ijaws for Igboids Igbophobia, you blame the FG, now you are blaming BBC. Did it not occur to you that those Igboids were not included in BBC Igbo, because unlike you who sit in your arm chair and making up your own opinions based on sentiments and emotions, the BBC crew actually visited those communities, carried out research and found out they wanted nothing to do with anything relating to Igbo, hence why they were not put in BBC Igbo? Any Igbo who ever lived in Rumu villages know that Rumu people are always upset when they find out that as an Igbo, you can understand what they speak and call Ikwerrelanguage? Those lots don't want anything to do with Igbo, be it Igbo politics, Igbo language, or Igbo people.
If given option between Igbo and Hausa language, these people will choose Hausa language. BBC did no wrong, BBC unlike you are not interested in foisting things on people, they obeyed the people wish. In Delta Igbo, there is a very good balance of Anti and Pro Igbo groups, with Asaba/Prof Edozien being pro Igbo and Asaba being the most important city in Anioma, the pro Igbo group there will always win it. I belong to an Enuani facebook page, when BBC Igbo did a documentary on Asaba massacre and on a female pilot from Ibuzo and it posted on the group. Not a single voice in the group contested why they were being grouped as Igbo. They all related with the language. Even the characters there who were against being labelled Igbo on a different thread there , had no problem with BBC labelling them Igbo. Let BBC Igbo try and run a documentary on an Ogba, Etche or Ikwerre person and try to pass them off as Igbos, hell will break lose. You might like to continue engaging in self deceit, but I don't.
Northern minorities hold not a single animosity towards Hausa people and Hausa language, they don't consider Hausas threat, neither do they hate anything relating to Hausa, if you ever lived in the North, you will know this.
Because IPOB hierarchy are only interested in emotionalism and not pragmatism, just like you are currently exhibiting.
Nobody is dividing Igboland. Nobody can divide a people who want to stay together. Those Igboids will die than be called Igbo, the Hausa-Fulani did nothing, better stop the self deceit. The war ended since 1970, Rivers state is not governed by any Hausa-Fulani man.
The Hausa-Fulani did nothing without the cooperation of those Igboids, they Hausa-Fulani only helped them achieve their heart wishes. The Umuezekhoha clan are in Benue (Northern Nigeria) they have been there since 1970, yet still retain their Igbo identity and long for unification with us till today. The Yorubas in Kogi have been in Northern region since 1938, yet they identify as Yorubas and always proud to relate with Yorubas, recently when SW started Amotekun, the Kogi and Kwara leaders sent letters to SW leaders to include them. BBC crew did their homework and found out the people were comfortable with their Yoruba identity, hence why they were put in BBC Yoruba.
The tact here would be to completely grant Ikwerre and their bandwagoners theor independence clamour by expelling Ikwerre persons from all Igbo organizations and making sure to publicly disgrace any Ikwerre who tries to claim Igbo in public. Then we can reach out to Ikwerre, Ogba, Ekpeye, etc as independent ethnic groups and as mere neighbours and nothing more, just as we reach out to Ijaws, Ogoni, etc, and device means to work on our freedom. The Dimka didn't work with other ethnic groups in South Sudan as members of Dimka ethnic group, but as independent ethnic groups of their own. We can and should still work with Ikwerres in matters of mutual interests, but never as members of Igbo ethnic group, if for any reason our interest involves throwing Ikwerres under the bus, we should not blink an eye to do it, knowing fully well that when reversed, they will not hesitate to do same to us.
of course if our interest involves throwing ikwere under the bus I will be the first person to show up. But my position remains that Ikwere are Igbo for now. You know why?
I have realized that whenever I say that, I get to kill multiple birds with one stone. I get to piss off hateful ikwere, Yoruba and ijaw posters here who badly want Igbo fragmented and I get to possibly win a few ikwere and other Nigerians over who sit on the fence. I don't lose anything by saying it.
No matter how you badly want the majority of Igbos to stop seeing ikwere as Igbo, that will not happen. And no Matter how you badly want the rest of Nigeria to see ikwere as independent, they will always see them as igbos when it pleases them and see them as non-igbos when they want. That is what you need to make peace with not the fact that Ikwere say they are not Igbo....they have been saying that long before any of us were born...yet these topics come up everyday here, why? So the best thing is for you to leverage on that. You already know that no igbo man even the most emotional one will accept to give an Ikwere man what is due to south east...so the narrative you are pushing is already the current status quo... you are not doing anything new
I will Simply walk into this type of thread, say that Ikwere is Igbo, piss many people off and walk out while knowing that an Ikwere man gets no special favours from me.
Armaggedon: I don't bother about the opinion of amarabae and ChinenyeN because they have a history of emotional approach to Igbo identity issues. Meleszenawi himself is even anti Biafra. I only have problem with pazienza who has been a pan Igbo champion but has allowed frustrations arising from Igbo denials get the better part of him that he started doing the opposite of what he was known for.
pazienza fall hand sha...he started attaching too much emotion to the ikwere identity crisis and got burnt
Armaggedon: but you are the deluded and emotional one. how do you access how people get along?
If you were not emotional you would have known that "audio Igbo denial" is a tactic meant not inflame passions of the emotionally weak and keep him from having a closer relationship with the denier, while the denier gets everything he needs from you. Wike married from IMO, Amaechi from anambra just like the majority of them. How can someone marry and Igbo and even swear heaven on earth that he is Igbo and later you take his audio denial serious?
You prove you're not one with a tribe by action not by word. An Igbo can never contemplate marrying a Hausa Fulani or even Yoruba if not that many are forced to live in Lagos.
Here you are taking a group of people serious for just saying they're not Igbo while sharing the same voting patterns, marriage patterns etc with you. I am not in favour of telling people in their face they are Igbo's cos that will achieve no result except giving them a false sense of importance but, believing they are not Igbo's on the basis of an ordinary audio denial and even using that to exclude some people in our political vision is utterly naive.
but then again Amarabae is naive. She once said that Igbos don't need presidency...we should leave the north and west to be president because it is only bragging rights?
Very naive and emotional people who know nothing about bridge building and creating nations....
Amarabae: Tell your Nnamdi kanu to step his feet in ikwerre land and preach his nonsense. You yourself, leave nairaland, go to any ikwerre communities, gather some youths and tell them this nonsense. If you don't return back handicapped, I will forward 100,000 naira to you. Ikwerres are NOT and will NEVER be Igbos. Let me stop here .
ikwere are igbo
Google says they are Ohaneze (of which they a member) says they are Nigeria know they are Some of their sons say they are
Ikwere will remain Igbos. Stop being emotional about this topic. I first encountered your Moniker and Chinenyen on these topics...are you jobless? You have been debating the same thing for donkey years... meanwhile the next ohaneze general assembly will have ikwere in attendance
Amarabae: The fraudster just parked at oyigbo . E for enter ikwerre land, make rumuohnaikwerre boys tear am into two .... I believe in live and let's live. I love Igbo nation, Stay on your own and allow them stay on their own. You don't want, na their oil and ph city you de eye. Criminal nnamdi kanu slaves. Come and take it na.
Armaggedon: politics, life entirely and its ramifications is not for the emotionally weak. An emotionally weak person is the one who sees his house burning and out of a raging anger tries to fight the fire with fire, forgetting that it is water that works.
An emotionally weak person is the one that razes his house because he got angry after failing to catch the mouse that entered into the house.
When kidnapers take any of your relative hostage, they place a call on you. After saying many unpleasant things against you, your loving relative will agree with them and even ask you to release money for his freedom. Only the emotionally weak will get mad at the relation for agreeing under the influence of those armed men instead of fighting for his release. It is make-believe and there is a lot of it in politics. I know it hurts seeing a fellow Igbo mock other Igbo's even with strangers but we remain fools if we get carried away by that, cos that is exactly how the system which encourage their attitude want us to respond.
I understand that Igboland is the only ethnic group without internal ethnic separatism prior independence, unlike yoruba where ijebus claims separate and the Yoruba's had to surrender to colonialism and subsequently had to allow awolowo lead the race just to put that in check, unlike urhobo and isoko, Ibibio and efik, Idoma and igede, Ijaw and central delta, and presently ogoni and eleme. Igbo unity and exclusivism was envied by neighbours and Fulani govt alike. Igbo unity meant that the minorities around Igbo's needed the Igbo's more and had no choice than to rally round the igbos and build a prosperous region. it also meant that the minorities had to be integrated into the Igbo values system of hardwork, peace and progressiveness. The minorities had agitations for state creation in the eastern region but that doesn't automatically translate to a victory if it was put to a referendum like the western region. Even the Fulani govt knew it. Hence breaking the eastern region meant that some Igbo groups had to be partitioned into rivers and cross rivers state without referendum, thwart Igbo unity and its attendant values of hardwork and development. Imagine what rivers would've been without the upland- another useless state like bayelsa.
It is a huge political victory for Igbo's that eastern region was partitioned without referendum. Every ethnic homeland partitioned have the right to sue for reunification just like East and west Germany did, North ireland and Irish free state on the one hand, and North and south Korea are all suing. This is the political angle, while people like pazienza and ChinenyeN are engrossed with emotional side which takes no one anywhere.
Thank you bro...thank you again and again. Did you see my own posts on this before you wrote this or are we thinking alike?
Amarabae, Chinenyen and pazienza are caught up in the emotional 'ikwerre insult igbos' bullshit. Those trio will never be able to create a nation if they were the last three people on earth.
Slap44 says they are not igbo....they are. Just of the emotional type...and they use the reverse psychology to call us the emotional ones....oh they are telling us what we don't know...that Ikwere say they are not Igbo....wow... how could we know that when we are living in a cave and they are living in a 5G city
If you realise well, I decide who to reply and I even hate been quoted back coz I want my own submission to be a thorn to your flesh.
Emotional wrecks behaves without thinking. Obiano has refused or hardly attends SE govs meeting or Ohanaeze, una go cry...he addresses anambra as Omambala una go cry... everything he does this days receives criticism and for that he continues doing it know how emotionally down u guys can be...
Soon he will float ethnic nationality.....You will still write long epistle..
This is exactly what Ikwerre is doing and protect like you are running about disgracing themselves up and down..
Whatever someone wish to address himself, respect that and Accord the person such respect.
That is the case of Anioma and Ikwerres.
Stop chasing shadows...nwoke Udi
Every state now is an independent unit and can decide to do what they want and how they want it. [/s]
Amarabae: Nation building my foot . You are building a nation with who. Lol. That's why the Biafra nonsense is now a dry joke, Because propaganda and delusion were the foundation of the struggle.
Amarabae: Mind you, am a Rivers indigene, married to anambra state. When I talk about ph, you keep quiet. I trust ikwerre people, you deluded junks will continue getting it hot from them
you should leave us to worry about that. Don't pity us when we get insulted by ikwere, is it your insult?
Amarabae: Last two weeks I was in ph and was in a group meeting, we were 9. During the chit chat, a lady there introduced herself ,she is ikwerre, The next thing that happened was fiam, one of the guys there from Abia I learnt told her, "so you are my Igbo sister but you people denied being igbo " My dear, the kind anti Igbo insult that rushed out from dis ikwerre girl's mouth, chai .. I nearly melted there. Why can't dis people face the reality about ikwerre people? Was it not last two years that wike honored yakubu gowon and named a stadium after him , and yet dis emotional old papas here don't want to have sense
I quickly went to Facebook to see the various ikwere groups and see how the Igbos 'disgrace' themselves there...again I realized you have let your emotions get the best of you

lol but you were the emotional one in the room. You are afraid of being insulted when you say ikwere are igbos...lol
You should know that we know that they hate igbos... you are not telling us something new...lol but we also know how nations are created..hence the reason why for every ikwere person who claims ikwere is not igbo, you will have two igbos who will show up to piss him or her off by telling him the real truth without remorse.... you should learn that or quit discussing the topic
These people's stock in trade is to open Igbo sounding monikers and be trolling Igbo unity posts everywhere they see it on cyberspace. They create an imaginary enmity with every a word they speak and paint Igbo people as divided and at war with their neighbours. They have more than 100 monikers on this forum alone and their aim is to isolate Igbo speaking areas.
Divide and conquer course 102.
But they are so far failing like a pack of cards. The tribe they are trying to divide are so dynamic, so fast and efficient. That's the pain you see them showing on this thread.
you mean chinenyen may not be igbo? That would be surprising though...
ChinenyeN: As I stated, biri ka m biri. I won't tell you how to live. That is between you and your eke. But I also believe it is within my right to speak up and point things out to other Igbo when such appropriate times present themselves. You and I seek the same things, though in vastly different ways (apparently).
nengibo: Shouldn't such a discussion include an Ikwerre person
if an Ikwere person says ikwere is Igbo, you will say he is just one and doesn't represent the views of the whole.
If 10 ikwere people come in randomly and say ikwere is Igbo, you will still say the same thing. You see why we can't take you seriously for our own good?
ChinenyeN: Again, the Igbo community by far and large does not even recognize Ohaneze as a leadership body. That's the narrative you're trying to paint here though. Let's just make this simple. You want to talk about nation-building. We don't have a polity.
Nation-building as in nation-state. When you mention "nation-building", please are going to think Of a government and not an ethnicity. The latter exists for Igbo, but not the former. When I hear "nation-building", I certainly am not thinking of an identity. I'm thinking of sovereignty.
I will end this argument.
It's futile. You have made your mark on nairaland by arguing this topic. 1 out of every 3 posts you have ever made on nairaland is in this types of thread.
You more than me have made this your lives work...I'm not sad about it...I am sad that a highly intelligent igbo man like pazienza was able to be swayed by you and your very childish arguments on this topic. I have read them before...I know what you would say before you said them (they say they are not Igbo, leave them, Igbo identity should not be given to Igbo haters) (trash) ...I was almost swayed by your ideology when pazienza showed me 'evidence' that Ikwere hate Igbos... thank God I wasn't swayed in the end. I lived in a country in the middle East where a tribe didn't want to join that country before until there were forced with the threat of war ....today their children are so proud of being from that country.
Nations will NEVER be created with your mentality. You win the argument... you haven't won the fight. As we proceed to push for an Igbo country in a very possible future, we will make sure we don't leave even the biggest Igbo deniers (Ika) out.
ChinenyeN: It's easy to make statements like this, but at the end of the day, you have to agree that their situation is not the same as ours. That analogy ends up not working, so you need to reconcile that with (or speak in terms of) our actual predicament. Otherwise, it's as though your making comparisons to something that doesn't fit.
apart from the abandoned property saga can you tell me and slap44 where the Ikwerres have ever gone against igbos except that they probably insulted and hated on you?
You think we need them to love us and hug us every morning before we know we are good with them?
