But the way our universities are being managed, is there any justifiable reason for an idiot to join any secret cult in school?. Which student in this country wants to spend more than the stipulated course years in school?. It is the children of thugs and wayward parents that would want to participate in such. Already, four year programmes are being run six, in our public institutions. Hence, there is obviously no need for any inter-varsity war, according to thread. |

CHALLENGER: Quote from: CHALLENGER on Today at 09:44:51 AM ENJOYMENT1:
"On this matter, there are two things to look at here; 1. If Ribadu actually collected $15m from Ibori, why did it take Ribadu almost 7 months before he finally told the whole world, Ibori bribed him?. Dont you thing Ribadu had an interior motive, because during this same period, he was twice sighted at the same Ibori's house. Doesn't this give little credibility to Ibori's allegation of Ribadu wanting him to help him become the next IG?. 2. In another way, don't you think Ribadu would have secretly collected and kept this money, if not for the fact, there was a third party?. Where did he get money to buy a bullet proof car, where all his life savings plus gratuity and can not get him anything near the latest brand new Landcruiser, talkless of a bullet proof car?. He must have been involved in corrupt practices to be able to afford that, because I have checked all the condition of service as EFFC chairman, nothing like bullet proof car is attached to it, except for a cook, a driver, a steward, furniture allowance for 4 years, basic salary, estacode for travelling expenses which is just $500 etc. His salary is just over a million naira. I have the complete condition of service"
My comment:
1)On the $15m bribe given to Ribadu by Ibori, why don't you check up the date he deposited the exhibit money with CBN. If Ribadu had not colleted that money what would he have to present now as an exhibit. You should also note that Ribadu can't just be returnig the money now (7months later) he must have returned the money while he was still in Office as EFCC's chairman.Rather, Ribadu is only informing the general public now due to Madam Waziri's desire to sweep the case under the carpet. May be I should let you know that going to the house of an accused person is not agianst any laid down rules. He could have gone there for more investigation/interrogation or for any other official reasons. Assuming you are the one handling the Ibori's case at that time, would it be out of place if you visited Ibori's house? If you really want to do a good job your investigations must be thorough.Ibori's claim of Ribadu wanting his help is only a campaign to paint him black. Would you have expected Ibori not to fight back?He will of course and he is bound to use any means to fight back even if using blackmail. The question i ask is this let Ibori provide enough material to substantiate his claim.
2)On the BulletProof Car: Yes, the provision of a bullet proof car may not be in the condition of service. But the job he was doing then demanded such a security chech considering the fact that these looters/corrupt personnel are so ruthless to the extent that they don't mind eliminating any one who wants to expose them, the case of Bayo Ohu (who was recently assasinated is an affirmation of this). Bayo was supposedly working on the forgery allegation against the current Comptroller General of Custom. I think the question we should ask is:is the use of the Bulletproof car a luxury to Ribadu then or a neccessity? I'm sure if you were in Ribadu shoes you would not only go for a bullet proof car but you will also go the extra length of procuring "Juju" or anything else to protect you from all these corrupt personnel.
Enjoyment1, there is this saying in Yoruba "e je ki a fi oro lo a ra wa wo" meaning let's put ourself in the shoes of the person we want to crucify. Let's be more objective in our discuss.
Comment:
I must say, you have made some key points, but they dont hold water in the court of fair hearing. Ribadu never made the issue of this money known to the public until when things began to go bad with him and Ibori. I must confess, Ibori might be corrupt, but his likes should not be spared. Ribadu did not go to Ibori's house for further investigations, but they had a meeting that day and even in his subsequent visits. Infact, to make it clear to you, Ibori openly swore that his salts and pepper will hunt Ribadu. That is to say that, he admitted once parleying with Ribadu, but perhaps, because he couldn't help him get his IG of Police position, he now turned around to prosecute him. Let me tell you, these two people are not telling the public the truth. That is why it pains me, when people without facts and figures open their mouths wide to talk here. I will advice you not to be Ribadu's worshipper, for he is not telling you and me the truth, and so is Ibori.
My Comment:
Selingel I quite appreciate your objectivity. But, I DO NOT WORSHIP, NOR INTENDS TO START WORSHIPPING ANY HUMAN BEING-EITHER DEAD OR ALIVE, I WORSHIP THE ONLY TRUE GOD, THE ALMIGHTY, KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS,THE BACKBONE OF THE BELIEVERS, THE CONQUEROR OF THE CONQUEST, THE DEFENDER OF THE DEFENCELESS, EMPEROR OF THE EMPIRE, THE COMING KING, GOD ALMIGHTY/CHRIST JESUS.
Back to our discussion: In as much as Ribadu is human, he could have been tempted to take the bribe - $15million is no small money. But, for him to have returned same to CBN as exhibit is an act of heroism which should be acknowledged, appreciated and supported. Also, it is not impossible that a relationship once existed between Ribadu and Ibori but, for him to be able to jeopardise that relationship (along with the opportunities of self enrichment) speaks volume of the character of this person-Ribadu. Ask Madam Waziri if she would not trip (fall for the temptation) if she has the opportunity. Yes, Ribadu has the right to aspire to the zenith of his career/profession and he also has the right to discuss his aspiration with friends and foes alike but, for Ibori to now be claiming that his refusal to aid him(Ribadu) secure the IGP is instrumental to his prosecution is synonymous with blackmail. Come to think of it, do you expect Ibori not to fight back? More so, there is no logic in Ibori helping Ribadu become the IGP knowing fully well that Ribadu will eventualy come after him after becoming the IGP (for the man Ribadu was often reffered to as a "Mad Man/Boy" even by his employer --Obasanjo) I must admit, that this is the first time, someone has spoken for Ribadu, and made sense. My own is just that. A thief should be labelled a thief. That way, people will aim at perfection, eventhough it doesnt exist anywhere in the world. Thanks all thesame. |
