The Tourist was a big disappointment

I mean you expect so much or at least certain expectations to be met from a movie starring Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie

Scott Pilgrim vs The World is a 2010 Edgar Wright film with Micheal Cera (Step up 2 & Step Up 3D) in the lead role of Scott Pilgrim.

The story revolves around Scott Pilgrim - a guitarist in a little known/aspiring rock band who meets a girl - Ramona (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), falls in love with her and discovers that for them to be together, he must fight and defeat her seven exes and this he does in a series of fights.

Film is supposedly an ''action comedy'' but I found it lacking in humour, very dry and boring. Nor be lie, but even ''Papa Ajasco and Family'' make sense and funny pass am grin grin

Story was senseless, had no substance, very childish & juvenile and even the action/fighting scenes was a throwback to those old graphic cartoons that used to be on tv in the late 80's - early 90's that for every punch or kick you see images like ''pow'', ''boom'' etc. and this was a minus IMO.

To make matters worse, some parts in the film were unclear & not easy to understand. For example, Scott Pilgrim was killed in the final fight and he came back to life. . .how & why? The only part I liked in the film was THE END grin

Often times, an otherwise bad movie is lifted by the performances of some of the actors/actresses but in this one, there was nothing like that as the acting all round was mediocre undecided

Without mincing words, it's the silliest, most foolish, most immature and ''unfunny'' movie I've seen in a long while. It's one of those movies that you immediately press shift+delete when you finish watching. . .Nonsense film!

I'm only giving it a score cos there is a saying that ''if person do exam, and even if im nor write anything, as long as im put im name, date & the subject for the answer sheet, im nor fit get zero'' grin  . . .So on that basis, I'll give it a 5% smiley

Ma’ami is the true-to-life story of a hard-struggling, hard-surviving single parent who sees sacred responsibility in raising her only child, Kashimawo. Like every responsible Yoruba mother, Ma’ami would stretch herself to educate her only child. She runs a small stall that takes the mystery out of the myth of the middle-class. Her low class status naturally makes things extremely difficult and, at times, it can be very hard to fend for the child.

Kashimawo, however, rises from obscurity to become a twinkling star, revered by his fellow countrymen, especially since plying his trade as a professional footballer at Arsenal one of the most popular club in the United Kingdom. The story revolves around Kashimawo, who in the period leading to the 2010 World Cup, reminisces on his hardscrabble childhood in the southern Nigerian town of Abeokuta. The film features Funke Akindele, as lead character.
A grass to grace story. . . .hmmm

Wondering who played Kashimawo and if there would be scenes of him playing for Arsenal undecided

Well, kashimawo (lets wait and see) grin

pls how do i get invited to sit in the audience of who wants to be a millionaire.
Thank you
Hmm, there is a phone no you text your name to, then you're called and invited to come for the audience play on a particular day (in the not too distant future) when they're recording. You'll be given some instructions and a pin no which identifies you and serves as a ''visa'' for you to be part of the audience on that day. Unfortunately for you, I don't have the no grin

At least, that's how it was done back then in 2008 when my younger bro went for the audience play. . .not sure if it's still done the same way though undecided

OR

Alternatively, go there very very early in the morning (cos names will be filled in a register according to time of arrival and lots of peeps will be there) on a day they're recording dressed in dark clothes eg. black, grey, brown etc cos bright colours interfere with their lighting in the studio and only those appropriately dressed will be selected from the gatecrashers (those without pin nos) to join the invited peeps for the audience play if they ain't enough to fill up the seats in the studio
TV/Movies › Re: Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Now Back On Air by semid4lyfe(m): 4:49pm On Feb 18, 2011
TRUE! There was a recording on Sunday (13/02/2011)

A friend of mine got on the ''hot-seat'' and used his ''phone a friend'' lifeline to call me to help him answer a question.

Last time I played was in 2007 but I think I'll start playing again to get invited to their studio to play ''fastest finger first'' and probably get on the hot seat smiley

Just watched The King's Speech last last night

Very simple, inspiring, gripping, interesting and uplifting story.

Didn't think I'll like & enjoy the film with it being set in that ''old era'' but surprisingly I did.

Being someone whose attention easily veers and isn't held by one thing for too long, I like the fact the film is ''easy on the brain''. . .as in person nor need watch am with full concentration to understand am as im fit dey (multitask) do other things too.

I also like the way the film started i.e the way the film's subject matter and thrust (Prince Albert and his severe/chronic stammering and his struggles to overcome it) was introduced early on in the film. . .no dilly-dallying and unnecessary talk but just straight to the point & very direct ''story telling'' cool

A bit of suspense at the end when Bertie (King George VI) was about to give his speech and I couldn't help but pray and urge him on (although I knew he was going to deliver it well after all actor nor dey ''eff up'' and na the whole essence of the film be that) but still that part was so real smiley

Superb + superlative acting by Geoffrey Rush, Helena Bonham Carter and Colin Firth too. . . .th-th-th-at  guy  m-u-mu-st  be  a  sta-sta-mmer-mmer-er  i-i-i-in  re-re-re-al  li-li-li-life  lol grin

An interesting read. . . . .

Blog has been bookmarked.

By the way, this story will make a good script for a Nollywood movie although I'm sure movies with similar story lines have been done before

Lest I forget some parts of the story don't add up. . . a good work of fiction, no doubt smiley
