Mahn, I just saw the the highlights of the match and I'm sooo impressed. . . .particularly with Anthony Ujah. He's fast, agile, got good ball control, off the ball movement and positional play, acrobatic, can dribble and packs a decent shot too. The others (Emmanuel Nosakhare Igiebor & Ohi Omoijuanfo) are also very good. Siasia should call up Anthony Ujah to the Super Eagles while Nosa & Ohi should be invited to the U-23 team. |

@ eldee Coincidentally, the last Indian movie I watched before My Name is Khan was like 10 years ago (2001/2002) and it was made by the same director (Karan Johar) who did MNIK and it starred the same peeps. . . .Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. It's titled Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. It's another classic. . .go watch it if you haven't seen it. ![]() |
eldee: That's it . . . no more foreign movies till I get the time, I had to try ot five different ones to see which one fit.Na big eshe if you nor watch My Name Is Khan o |
First film I watched today was Hereafter (2010). . .a film directed by Clint Eastwood and starring Matt Damon. Film is slightly over 2 hours but I didn't notice cos it's a riveting, deep, profound and thought-provoking movie. . .I loved it. Watched The Mechanic (2010) immediately after that. Movie is kinda similar to The Transporter and Jason Statham acted the same kinda all action stereotypical roles he's known for but still I liked it . . . I'm now watching Shanghai (2010). Movie is in chinese and that has dulled it a bit but luckily I was able to download a fitting subtitle. An interesting movie so far. . . . . . |
This has to be the most pointless and senseless thread I've seen this year. . . Jeez! |

I don't know about others but I feel slightly jaded about the whole spy/undercover/special agent ''action'' movie genre Maybe it's cos I've read too many espionage novels and watched too many tv series + films in this genre so I feel everything has been done before ![]() RED is an extremely interesting movie with lots of ''gun-firing'' & ''bomb exploding'' action and a fair dose of comedy, romance and humour but that's where the +VE ends for me, The storyline/plot was unoriginal and far-fetched . . . characters were exaggerated & unrealistic. . .action scenes were ''same of the same'' . .and the whole film was damn predictable. Best performance in the film was from John Malkovich as he portrayed his character of a paranoid, deeply suspicious and slightly unbalanced old man very well. The performances of the others was just average IMO. Surely, the quartet of Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich and Helen Mirren could have been put to better use? . . . .I'll score RED a 60% |
@ justkunmi 2 votes already for RED. . .Myself and v3 |
Four pages and no pix? ![]() Moving on. . . . . |
lalaboi: These Arsenal guyz sef. . . hmph!Gala boi, kini mo se nah? The only movie I suggested that was reviewed was The King's Speech. All the other movies have been suggested by others and I only voteOk I geddit. . .Shey na becos I talk se that your Benjamz diss dey wack ni? Guy free me jare, if e pain you enter studio go wax better diss ![]() @ justkunmi Abeg, make we do one of lalaboi earlier suggestions so hin go rest matter for my case |
obinna5000: DRIVE ANGRY!! I haven't seen it but I try to avoid Nicolas Cage movies as much as possible. Cheesy v3: Haven't we reviewed RED before?Hmmm, just so we don't dilly-dally for too long, I'll second V3. Lets do RED |
It gets more and more interesting For a minute I really thought she was back in Nigeria Can't wait for next week. . , . . . . . |

Hmmm, posting via phone so I'll keep it short. . . I like Boxing & I love boxing-themed films and I've seen quite a no of 'em from the ''Rocky series'', ''Undisputed 1 & 2'', ''Ali'', ''Against the Ropes'', ''Million Dollar Baby'', ''Annapolis'', ''The Hurricane'' etc to mention a few so The Fighter was no exception. I mean. . .the combination of some ''simulated/special effects assisted'' pound for pound action in a ring and the ''off-ring'' drama and story that revolves around a boxer never fails in making an interesting & engrossing movie. The interaction and dialogue between the principal characters in the movie was well scripted and done and the boxing/fighting scenes were very good too. The quartet of Mark Wahlberg, Christian Bale, Melissa Leo and Amy Adams all gave stellar performances although I feel the standout performance was from Christian Bale (Dicky). The Fighter easily ranks among my top 10 boxing movies of all time and I'll score it 85%. Perhaps, someone should create a thread for strictly boxing movies so we can poll and know peoples favourite boxing movie of all time ![]() |
@ topic Despicable Me |
@ el, I really liked The Great Debaters. It even inspired the signature I used before this present one. . . .''Shut Up! You're nothing but a mere dissenting voice to the truth I speak'' ![]() I know the film was based on true historical happenings but I felt the Harvard team had the superior argument in the final debate (as it was presented in the film) and should have won the debate ![]() |
