RomanceRe: Why is it so hard to let go? by Seun(mod): 7:38pm On Jun 06, 2005
Ka,

The conclusion that there's nothing Ezinne can do to help is premature. I don't not like your line of thought at all. I do not like callous friends, and I don't like those who encourage others to be callous. There are better ways to help a friend than abandonment.

I have experienced friends who follow the principles you seem to be promoting, and if I meet them tommorrow I will happily throw hot sand on their smug, all-knowing faces.

Seun.

Women are their own worst enemies, unlike men who know how to support their own.

ComputersRe: Highest download rate possible? by Seun(mod): 4:21pm On Jun 06, 2005
Note: 256kbps means (256 ÷ 8) kilobytes per second, i.e. 32 kilobytes per second.

On my Multilinks Internet connection, my download manager reports speeds of up to 8.5 to 9.0 kilobytes/second during off-peak periods. I usually tell people I have an 8 kilobyte per second (64kbps or 8kB/s) download rate because that's what I get at best.

Most of us in Nigeria are on shared bandwidth, because the truth is that no one of us is going to be able to pay for a 32kbps dedicated satellite link. it would be just too expensive. That's why the NITEL IP Wholesale service is very important.

I don't want anyone reading my this reply and getting jealous of me, ok?
As if that's not the point of this whole story!

Do you know that, as a guy, I can simply memorize and reproduce this romantic scene with just about any girl without actually feeling anything for her? Do you know that, in fact, it is harder for us to be so 'romantic' when we have genuine feelings vs when we're trying to score or achieve some other objective?

Angelgal, welcome to Nairaland!

I'm glad you like the people on the site. I believe we can make the site much better than it is now.
PoliticsRe: Why is Obasanjo Nigerian masses worst nightmare by Seun(mod): 3:35pm On Jun 06, 2005
He's able to command respect outside the country, africa and elsewhere. He's able to communicate what his administration is doing in uncomplicated terms that someone like me can understand and appreciate. He was the first military ruler ever to hand over to a civilian government.

I don't think it's a good idea to criticize President Obasanjo when there is no-one who is better? Can you really name anyone who would have done better?

I sincerely believe that he's a good president. I think he has done really well and I hope it won't take terror in the next regime for us to recognize that.

Nairaland GeneralRe: How Did You Spend Your Weekend? by Seun(mod): 3:13pm On Jun 06, 2005
I was planning to spend my weekend on Nairaland.com, as usual, but I was 'down' (like a server) for most of Saturday and Sunday.

On a good note, during the same period I was able to install a special piece of software that would make my work of updating and adding new features to the Nairaland forum much, much faster.

As far as I know the Maximillian story is 100% fabricated. They were not educating the millions of viewers in any way whatsoever!

Declare your intentions from day one. Why pursue a 'relationship' when all you really need is a friend? huh
RomanceRe: Dating a Married Man: what do Nigerians think? by Seun(mod): 1:58pm On Jun 06, 2005
That is because we are an immoral society. We have no qualms with doing something one night, then waking up the following morning to declare that it is 'wrong'.

A white man will say "it is ok to do it in some circumstances", and then do it.
A Nigerian woman will say "it is very wrong to do such a thing!!!", then do it!
RomanceRe: Wealthy Men who Refuse to Give their Women Money by Seun(mod): 1:52pm On Jun 06, 2005
Hunter, In practice, the women don't laze about at all. They just do the house chores in addition to their day jobs, which really is ridiculous. After work the husbands gets to watch TV and the wife gets to cook, clean, take care of kids, etc. Ridiculous! grin.

Contact details will be hidden from registered guests, but registered members (those who have paid) will be able to see the contact details of everybody on the site in addition to the ability to receive on-site PMs.

In a short while, PM notification by email will be permanently disabled, and every user of the forum will recieve an announcement to that effect. This is to reduce the volume of mail the forum is generating as well as to encourage people to log on regularly to check their private messages. This will be a great relief to those of us who recieve a lot of private messages!

CrimeRe: Sexual Assault and Rape: Test your knowledge by Seun(mod): 12:08pm On Jun 06, 2005
They are not goats; they are wolves. Goats are just annoying, but wolves are dangerous!

It is necessary for us to have the right orientation about these issues and to share tips that will help us re-educate those who think this kind of behaviour is acceptable. Because rapists are not aliens, they are men (and women) like you and me with wrong ideas in their heads. Hopefully we can help correct these wrong ideas before they are acted upon.

Please keep voting on the poll. I will post the correct answer when this topic leaves the front page.

BusinessRe: Introducing NairaEx by Seun(mod): 8:45am On Jun 06, 2005
One of the reasons why most companies don't go about promoting their wares with forums is the kind of damaging criticism you can get if your product has flaws that have not been rectified. A forum is not a traditional marketing channel, and it should not be treated as such.

Reading and Posting on Nairaland, the Nigerian Forum will always be free.

What part of that sentence don't you understand? It is written in red and bold in the first post of 'How Much to Charge Nairaland Users' but somehow you managed to miss it. I am not happy about that attitude.

Ladies are really good in helping out especially when it comes to relieving stress, ...
Why do you have to promise a lady 'everlasting love' and pressure her for sex, when all you need from her is what you can get from 2 tablets of Panadol or half a tablet of Valium?
