As a muslim, do you agree with the following statements by Sheik Bandar Al-Khaybari from Saudi Arabia?

"Someone is asking whether the earth moves or whether it is fixed in place. Does it move or remain fixed?

"The truth, as described by our scholars Imam Ibn Baz and Sheik Saleh Al-Fawzan is that the earth is fixed and does not move. This is in keeping with the Qur'anic text and it makes sense as well. There is ample Qur'anic evidence that it is the sun that revolves around the earth.

"As for evidence based on reason, the (Westerners) present all kinds of theories, but we muslims also have theories and brains.

"First, let's say that we go from here to Sharjah airport and take a plane to China. Are you with me? Concentrate now. Let's say that this is earth and let's assume that it is turning. If we take an international flight from Sharjah to China. You say that the earth is turning, right? If the plane stopped in mid-air, wouldn't China come to it? Am I right or not? If the earth really does turn, China should come to the plane.

"Now, let's assume that the earth revolves the other way. The plane will never catch up with China no matter how long it flies. Since China is also revolving you will never get there.

"Secondly, Allah talked about the (celestial) house frequented (by angels). This house is located in the seventh heaven. The Prophet Muhammad said that if it fell from the sky, it would fall on the Kaaba. But if the earth revolve, it would not fall on the Kaaba. It could fall on the ocean or somewhere on dry land. This proves that the earth is fixed in place.

"The (Americans) say that they landed on the moon, but they never set foot or laid their eyes on it. They produced it all in Hollywood or I don't know where. They said they had gone to the moon and we just took their word for it."

Yes, the word idol can be used to refer to a person you admire, or a physical representation of a god, but those meanings are clearly distinct.

If you don't think the sun is God or a god, then you're not a Sun worshipper. If you are a Sun worshipper, then you're not an atheist. It's clear. The people who respect and adore Beyonce are called fans, not worshipers, because Beyonce is considered to be a human being, not a god.

I could read the weather forecast and use it to predict whether it will rain tomorrow or not. People who don't know about weather forecasts would think I'm a prophet if this happened many times. I could predict something I'm 50% sure is going to happen based on common sense, statistics, science, news, etc and then ask people to pray against it. If it happens, I'm a great prophet. If it doesn't happen, the prayers worked!

I never knew there where atheists in Nigeria and I kept pretending to be a Christian until one day I accidently opened the religion section of nairaland and saw this thread www.nairaland.com/1981089/atheist-comedy-videos.

When I saw peoples comments and how bold the atheists were, I threw my garment of pretense away and boldly told my family and friends I was no longer a christian.

Those frequency ranges can be picked up by scientific instruments. That's how we learnt that dolphins do communicate with each other.

This is why atheists can be extremely confident that God doesn't exist. If God existed, people wouldn't have to use deception to glorify him.

There's no evidence that he ever made that statement. Go ahead and search for it. It's just another religious lie. Also, he was 75 years old.

Cazuza (Bi-sexual Brazilian composer, singer and poet): During A show in Canecio ( Rio de Janeiro ), while smoking his cigarette, he puffed out some smoke into the air and said: 'God, that's for you.' He died at the age of 32 of LUNG CANCER in a horrible manner.

First of all, he died of AIDS, not lung cancer in 1990 after coming out as HIV-positive in 1989. His death was inevitable due to the lack of treatment options for HIV/AIDS at the time. Also, there's no evidence that he did what you said he did. Also, that's not even blasphemous.

The man who built the Titanic After the construction of the Cruise Ship, Titanic, a reporter asked him how safe the Titanic would be. With an ironic tone he said: 'Not even God can sink it' The result: I think you all know what happened to the Titanic.

The titanic was not built by one man. There were hundreds of people involved and many of them must have been faithful Christians. The fact that the man's name was not mentioned should have aroused your suspicion. Also, there were hundreds of people on the boat when it sunk. Many of them must have been devout Christians. Are you saying that God killed hundreds of his followers just to punish that unknown man?

Marilyn Monroe (Actress) She was visited by Billy Graham during a presentation of a show. He said the Spirit of God Had sent him to preach to her. After hearing what the Preacher Had to say, she said: 'I don't need your Jesus'. A week later, she was found dead in her Department.

1. There's no evidence that she met Billy Graham 1 week before her death. 2. "I don't need your Jesus" is not blasphemy. Millions of people have lived to a ripe old age after saying things that are far worse. 3. She died of a drug overdose, which is very common for famous musicians.

Bon Scott (Singer) The ex-vocalist of the AC/DC. On one of his 1979 songs he sang: 'Don't stop me; I'm going down all the way, down the highway to hell'. On the 19th of February 1980, Bon Scott was found dead, he had been choked by his own vomit.

"Don't stop me; I'm going down all the way, down the highway to hell" is not blasphemous. It's not even referring to God or the Christian hell at all. Those kind of lyrics are very common in rock music.

Campinas (IN 2005) In Campinas, Brazil, a group of friends, drunk, went to pick up a friend..... The mother accompanied her to the car and was so worried about the drunkenness of her friends and she said to the daughter holding her hand, who was already seated in the car: 'My Daughter, Go With God And May He Protect You.' She responded: 'Only If He (God) Travels In The Trunk, 'Cause Inside Here.....It's Already Full ' Hours later, news came that they had been involved in a fatal accident, everyone had died. The car could not be recognized what type of car it had been, but surprisingly, the trunk was intact. The police said there was no way the trunk could have remained intact. To their surprise, inside the trunk was a crate of eggs, none was broken.

1. The is no evidence that this story ever happened. Anyone can make up such stories and send them to strangers. 2. Why would a mother allow her daughter to enter a car that's being driven by a drunk person? That's incredibly stupid, to say the least. 3. If a car that was being driven by a drunk person crashed, isn't it more reasonable to assume that the drunkenness is what caused the crash? 4. Do you really want to portray God as a person who would kill a group of friends because of what just one of them said? Don't you think it's bad for God's image?

Christine Hewitt (Jamaican Journalist and entertainer) said the Bible (Word of God) was the worst book ever written. In June 2006 she was found burnt beyond recognition in her motor vehicle.

1. There is no evidence that Christine Hewitt ever made that statement. Go ahead and search for it. It's evil to smear a dead person's name.

My believe in afterlife stems from my own personal experiences and not from what some guys somewhere wrote in a book. I am one guy who dreams alot right from childhood and my experiences through dreams cannot just be a mere "projections of my brain" like some other atheists would say.

Yes, definitely. Also, it's likely that you had some reason to fear her death. For example, she may have been ill at the time. What was the cause of her death in the dream, and what was the cause of her death in real life?

However, I think Mr Osaghae should highlight the role that the baby's mother and the German hospital he was fortunate to have access to, played in his daughter's survival. Otherwise, some unfortunate lady reading this will think she can deliver a 3.5 month premature baby in a typical Nigerian hospital, pray on the baby, and expect everything to be alright.

Every time we give glory to God instead of highlighting the actual reasons why good things happened to us, we miss an opportunity to teach others the actual things they need to do to make the same good things happen to them. This is one of the things holding back our potentially great nation in my view.

I think Pastor Adeboye started it. Despite being the most humble pastor in the world.

The criminals caught with the body parts are suppliers. They supply those parts to people who stupidly believe that they can be used in rituals to make money. The belief in the power of money rituals creates the demand for body parts, despite the fact that the belief is completely false.
