admax:I just found a fake 5,000 naira note. Behold, the impossible: www.nairaland.com/422908/seen-new-5000-naira-note |
Why is it that the God of Pastor Chris and Benny Hinn distributes the gift of falling down to everybody like he is Father Christmas, but when it comes to actual healing miracles, it's difficult to find any genuine case? The makers of the documentary below followed Benny Hinn around looking for healing miracles, but they didn't find any healing miracles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVG1x-rh6FE |
admax:Clearly it is not effective since we have more "insane" people than many countries in Europe where most people are either atheists or cultural Christians who only attend church occasionally. Forget about fake Pastors because for something to be fake, there must be original,By your logic, since the Superman in Hollywood movies is fake, there must be a real Superman somewhere in the real world. This is not so. |
lielbree:Benny Hinn's marriage also crashed but he has reconciled with his wife. Hopefully Pastor Chris can learn marital reconciliation from him. |
nkechiben:Is there any verse in the Bible that says we must not criticise preachers? The "touch not my anointed" verse has nothing to do with that. |
Birds of a feather flock together. They are both very good at making people fall down. |
Sigh. Religion. |
Touchnot01:If you are in a position of authority e.g. a parent, a boss, a moderator, or a government official, you have the right to decide what is appropriate for the people under your authority. The national assembly's entire job is to decide what is appropriate for Nigerian citizens. As members of society, we have the right to use our brains to figure out what is best for other members of our society and then try to persuade them to do it (not by force). We can have a good society without pretending that an invisible mind-reading dictator exists. |
Touchnot01:Are you suggesting that atheists don't enjoy freedom of speech? Atheists are free to tell people what to do and they are free to ignore us. |
Bnladan:I am so sorry! I thought the Prophethood of Prophet Muhammad would be repetitive. No harm intended. I think it's time for me to leave. Sorry! |
Ghost01:It's not an authoritative source but it's certainly more objective than most websites. |
Codedrock:If mosquitoes didn't exist, bats would eat other insects and plants that are currently pollinated by mosquitoes would be pollinated by other insects. Also, my criticism is focused on disease-carrying mosquitoes and the parasites they carry, such as the malaria parasite. And back to the mosquitoes matter, since you believe everything is by chance why aren't there mosquitoes and other common flies more dangerous than they are right now? i mean there should have been a chance of us having common flies that just one single bite of theirs would lead to death immediately. There is a cost associated with developing the ability to kill a human being with a single bite. A mosquito that kills its host with a single bite won't gain any advantage with respect to survival, thus it will be at a disadvantage. It would waste resources developing useless poison. NO NO NO the point is this: Atheist should stop using the universe's design to judge the existence of GOD, why? Cos you didn't design it did you? If you believe he designed it bad, as a thinker you should know that doesn't justify his non existence does it? If he existed (which I believe) he could have done it this same way why? cos he is the designer even if he is wrong or right he probably has his reasons.Theists claim that the universe is so beautiful and perfect that it must have been designed by their God. We're just refuting that argument. I'm not saying that the flaws in the design of the universe prove the existence of God. I'm saying it doesn't prove the existence of God. That's all. Don't get me wrong I'm totally not against atheists or their belief I mean they have every reasons to believe there is no God even more than we that believe there is God, if you are a deep thinker and not a fanatic you wouldn't criticize atheists being atheists nor would you think they are stupid cos in reality their belief is more real than yours. What most atheists would argue is that we should not choose to believe anything unless the evidence suggesting the thing is true is strong. |
Uyi168:This is true: Saint Teresa believed suffering—even when caused by poverty, medical problems, or starvation—was a gift from God. As a result, while her clinics received millions of dollars in donations, their conditions drew criticism from people disturbed by the shortage of medical care, systematic diagnosis, and necessary nutrition, as well as the scarcity of analgesics for those in pain.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Mother_Teresa#Criticism More here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criticism_of_Mother_Teresa (this is an objective source) |
Your half-brother is clearly more rational than you. Everything he said makes perfect sense. Please leave him alone or he'll become anti-theist. |

MrOlai:What if another skeptic said that, even though people could not have dived safely to the darkest parts of the deep sea, they must have noticed that the ocean got darker the deeper they went, and thus inferred that the bottom of the deep sea must be dark? What if she challenged you to ask 10 uneducated people on the streets if the bottom of the deep sea was bright or dark and said she suspected that most of them would say it was dark? What if she said that regardless of the above, the context of that verse in the Quran suggests that the audience was familiar with the darkness of the bottom of the deep sea? That there was no point in comparing an unbeliever's heart to the darkness of the deep sea if the audience didn't already believe or know that the deep sea was dark? |

WORLDPEACE:It's supported by overwhelming evidence, hence the certainty. The details of evolution are disputable, but the core concepts are basically facts, as far as science is concerned. Being certain about evolution is like being certain that the earth is round, not flat, and that it orbits the sun. |
MrOlai:Thanks for this specific example. Skeptics could say that people had been sailing on the seas and swimming on beaches long before the Quran was written. Many people who swam in the sea, or fell into it, or dived into it to rescue someone who was drowning must have experienced the darkness under the sea and told other people about it. It should have been common knowledge that it's dark under the sea. This skeptical position is supported by the fact that the Quran was using the darkness in the deep sea in an analogy (it would not have made sense for the darkness under the deep sea to be used in an analogy if it wasn't common knowledge at that time that the deep sea is a dark place). If skeptics could explain away all the facts in the Quran that the Prophet couldn't have known, would that shake your faith in the Quran? |
sino:Scientists and lawyers would tell us that we can find out if something is true by weighing the evidence for and against it. Would you agree? I am open-minded, and I have studied the Qur'an based on my own limitations, and I arrived at the the believe that it is indeed the truth.Hmm. What are the specific things you observed during your study of the Quran that caused you to become fully convinced that it's true? (Tnx) |
Holyfield1:I don't think you get it. 1) Man did not just evolve from apes. We are still apes. 2) Man did not evolve from chimpanzees and gorillas. Man, chimpanzees and gorillas evolved from a common ape ancestor. Once upon a time, a monkey gave birth to a tail-less monkey. An ape! Over time, different apes spread to different parts of the world and became separated from each other. Some of those groups of apes stayed in forests and evolved into gorillas, chimpanzees, etc. Others moved into hot grassy savannahs, lost their hair and developed sweat glands to become endurance hunters, became smart, and took over the world. |
In the case of the home page not loading, you should just refresh, but I expect that the upgrade we are planning will solve that problem too. |
2dugged:Hypnosis is real but it's a psychological phenomenom of the human mind. Magic is real but it's just a bunch of tricks that anyone could learn. Charms are not real but they can be used to terrorize people who believe that they are real. There is nothing supernatural about any of these things. |
Jackossky:What's the source of your info? You attended their meetings? So you're a witch! "Beat him! Strip him! Burn him if he doesn't confess!" |
winetapper:The Murderers For Jesus Squad? |
Jay542:Can you explain why the "witches" always allow themselves to be stripped, beaten, and sometimes burnt to death instead of just flying away? |
Religion strikes again. Look, witches don't exist. There are no witches. That's why accused witches never fly away. Nobody deserves this. |
TheSixthSense:Every thief or liar thinks he will never be caught. He thinks the wronged party will never find out. And it's just not true in many cases. There's no way of knowing if you'll be one of the lucky ones. The fear of having your misdeeds exposed at an unpredictable time is best avoided. Also, if you're a decent person, you have a conscience, and when you abide by your conscience, you will feel good about yourself, which is great. Why would I want to miss out on the spoils of corruption when it is the culture and I can distort legal justice?Assuming you're a politician, right? Well, after leaving office you get to live in constant fear of being prosecuted by EFCC. You know that at any time your political opponents in power could launch justified legal cases against you and get you locked up. Who wants to live like that? Your belief in the need for judgment after death doesn't mean it exists. Your desire for the existence of something doesn't create it. People who accept the fact that there's no evidence of divine justice after death will work harder to ensure that there is human justice before death. This reminds me of a conversation I had with an atheist colleague of mine who got pissed off by his work group members. He went on and on about karma this and karma that. ... Do you also believe - permit me to use the word - in karma? There is no evidence for karma. Sometimes, people get what they deserve. Sometimes, people get the opposite of what they deserve. |
