His official story is that they didn't have the cooperation of the neighbours which required African Union approval and that they didn't have the weapons they needed because western countries didn't want to get to them, but they have now gotten weapons from alternative sources.

The official story is not necessarily correct, though. I think they could have gotten everything ready earlier if they were really really serious.

There is nothing wrong with planning for the possibility of a candidate's death due to old age or ill health. That's the main reason why we have vice presidential candidates. If Prof Osinbajo is a competent fellow (it seems so), then we need not worry about the health of General Buhari.

The Jonathans never cared about the average Nigerian. All they care about is their retention of power. Exactly last year, over 50 boys in Yobe were slain in their sleep. The President went on to celebrate an elaborate centinary event without properly addressing the issue.

This says more about the competence of their PR people and their media saviness than it says about whether they "care" about Nigerians.

Let's be frank. This is not why he travelled. If this was his reason for travelling they would have posted the info before he left. Having said that, there is no cause for concern over GMB's health. 'Worst' case scenario, Prof Osinbajo, a truly educated man, will become the acting president.
