fnep2smooth: I need to travel for Xmas and there is no one to take care of him till I come back February. Where are you travelling to? You should consider taking him with you or paying someone to take care of him on your behalf. Vikkiboi: lets say no to Mixbreed There's nothing wrong with mixed dogs. They can be excellent companion animals and even much more. Just don't breed them. |

Djicemob: So you now have preference for GMB and its fine abi? What are you thinking making comments like this? As I said, I no longer have any preference for any political party or candidate. I'm sorry if I initially expressed myself in a clumsy way. |
Nairaland General › Re: Attention Seun, Obinoscopy: What Is Happening Here? by Seun(mod): 1:23pm On Nov 12, 2014 |
Mixty: Good. Then all we ask is for you to be neutral and unbiased in the admin of Nairaland, particularly the politics section. No one is asking you to favour any party. Just be neutral in dissemination of information, stop selective choice of FP topics and avoid extensive twisting of FP topics. I am neither a supporter of GEJ nor Buhari, but the obvious slanting of news in favour of GEJ / PDP is unacceptable. We are reorganizing but that's the plan. Open complaints are not making it easy for moderators to do their work. We'll clamp down on that soon. |
Nairaland General › Re: Attention Seun, Obinoscopy: What Is Happening Here? by Seun(mod): 1:12pm On Nov 12, 2014 |
Mixty: Nairaland politics section is long gone to the dogs. Seun has never hidden his preference for PDP / GEJ with his 'inadvertent' actions. He appoints moderators that will do his bidding and take the fall for his misdeeds while he is seen as neutral and 'the knight in shining armor' Those are obstacles we have to face as we battle to achieve our desired change come 2015. I no longer have a preference for any party. I've decided that it's ok for GMB to win. We just need to prevent presidential abuse. |

omenka: Do you ever listen to "advice/suggestions"?? What's the point of giving you one?? Yes, we listen to all suggestions. There are literally dozens of things we've done in the past few months that were suggested by our users. Of course, if the purpose of your suggestion is just to promote a party or candidate then you shouldn't be surprised if we politely reject it. Tnx. |

Health › Re: Dos And Don’ts For Losing Weight by Seun(mod): 10:27am On Nov 11, 2014*. Modified: 11:26am On Nov 11, 2014 |
In my opinion, meat is not what makes people fat; it's carbs. Carbohydrates are very cheap and easy to digest and so it's easier to over-eat when your diet is high in carbs. They digest quickly and soon you are hungry again, and they provide nothing but calories to your body.
Protein is hard to digest; 20-30% of the calories in protein are used to digest the protein, so the effective calories are low, and also helps to build your muscles if you exercise a lot, which is good because muscles burn calories. Fat is very rich in calories, just like carbohydrates, but hard to digest, so meals high in fat tend to make you feel full, thus contributing less to weight gain than carbohydrates.
In my opinion, based on my experience, the first step in every weight loss program should be getting rid of high carb foods like rice, indomie, eba, amala, fufu, yam, pap/custard, soft drinks, bread, and even most types of fruit juice. It's an effortless way to reduce your calorie intake. Replace them with beans, moin moin, akara, fish/meat/chicken in moderation, whole fruits (not juice), iced water, etc. I call it "effortless" because many low carb foods e.g. the ones above taste just as nice as high carb foods, so you're not missing much by sticking to them. |

Having a dog makes my place feel less empty when there's no one else around. His antics are often amusing despite his serious nature. Also, it's nice to have something to take care of. He's like a really low maintenance (I can ignore him when I'm busy and he'll be just fine) baby heh. |
