Safety costs money. We accuse them of cutting corners, but at the same time we're not happy when they raise prices. |
You can equally demand that she should spend her money on you. If you're not a sugar daddy you should not behave like one. ![]() |
Odunnu: I should have started a new thread myself for you but I asked you/anybody to do it because I see you guys are happy starting threads and gives you a special feeling. I also felt making you feel happy wasnt out of order, but alas! Its brewing serious bad blood.Start the new thread next time. Start it right away. Please. |

davidylan: My question is quite simple - if my car develops engine problems BECAUSE i drove it while the water gauge was reading empty... is that the fault of the maker or does that betray his skill? That's a different question, but I'll answer it too. If the maker made the driver as well as the car, he will be twice to blame. |
davidylan: Does a car's mechanical faults betray the skill and expertise of the maker?Yes. If a car model has a high incidence of mechanical faults, who do you blame? |

tpia@:Which NL mirror site? |
fewj: @seun, it's not a post factor, its the privacy issue. Folks like me get a lot of spam mails from people who claim to have read our profile on NL, I get at least 3 daily! There is nowhere in the new Nairaland script where emails are exposed to users. You cannot get a Nairalander's email address from his/her Nairaland profile. The feature is simply not there. Your email address is not exposed to anyone unless you mail them. If you're getting spam mails, you must have posted your email address publicly somewhere. Scammers do tell lies; don't believe them. |

This is bad Economics. Most foreign goods and services have local substitutes: - European Premier League (Nigerian Premier League) - Calculators (Locally printed 4 figure tables) - Guns used by the police and Army (locally made bows and arrows, cutlass) - Wheat Flour (Garri & Cassava Flour) - Peak/Dano Milk (Cowbell & Jago Powders) - Aeroplanes (locally-made Canoes and Innoson Bus) - Laptops by Apple, HP, Dell (expensive locally assembled laptops with inferior specs). - Facebook (Nairaland) - Google (Nairaland Search) If you were actually to ban all foreign goods with local substitutes, you'd be banning just about everything Nigerians need and love. Nigerians will be miserable. It's madness. It's not even politically feasible. If the government pursues such a policy, the end result is that the government will end up banning goods that are produced locally by the friends of the people in government. Political donors, basically. This short-sighted policy is a recipe for institutionalizing crony capitalism. |
As the most populous country in Africa, that's to be expected. |
Keep checking the vacancies in this section and developing your talents. |
Sisi_Kill: Well, Well, Well. . .what do we have here boysIQ is a measure of potential. Women have unlimited potential. That's not really disputed by educated people. |
Done. |
gimbus: I am a Naija lady who is currently a software developer/systems designer who started in Naija and later relocated. I strongly believe that all Naija ladies have the potential to be anything they want to be and stereotypical comments like yours discourages women from pursuing tech careers.Nigerian women have the potential to be good coders. No one disputes that. If they can be bothered to try, they can be good at it. But they are not interested, because sitting in front of a PC all day, trying to solve extremely hard problems that most people can't understand or appreciate, just doesn't seem attractive to most women, compared to the other options available to them. There are exceptions. People like you. I don't think it's such a bad thing to acknowledge the fact that women like you are very rare. |
Definitely the first female tech CEO I've ever been excited about. I think she has what it takes to succeed. She's - Intelligent and a workaholic. - Worked for the best company in the industry, during its best years, in the most important role (UI). - Young: can lead Yahoo for decades if she proves to be a good CEO. The greatest danger is that, due to her abrasive management style, she get fired for offending top executives or directors. |
Hello all, it's my birthday! Thanks for your love and support! I'm going to post an update about life and stuff. |
