Very sad, but frankly, the daughters should not have been "dragging" a loaded gun with their father. They knew he wasn't going to shoot the boy, but were acting on their feelings. Women. I tire for una. |
What's your pricing like per hour? |
How about the HP Envy laptop? |
Why debian? Ubuntu Linux is the new debian. |
Pukkah:If you stop petrol importation, then there will be no petrol. What's the point of that? It's an unsmart idea. |
Distracting signatures are distracting. |
2 hours left! |
Instead of taking her to a hospital, they took her to a police station. Who knows what will happen there? |
What's the price like? |

Today is the final day of the media rental library business strategy essay contest. 9 hours left! |
@nateevs 6 or 7. I also got about 5 or 6 that have nothing to do with media rental. |
It ends tomorrow at midnight. You still have 25 hours and 12 minutes. |
Ok, you can raise the limit to N2m. Since this is the last day. But it will count against you. |
On Tuesday, I was really discouraged because I thought this contest was going to fail! However, since then, I've gotten 3 entries, which means if I get no other submissions, the 3 of them are going to in the prizes. One of the contestants actually wrote a full business plan, which initially seemed to be a bit much, but on my second reading, I noticed that she was the only one who took the N1m budget limit serious and tried to find a way to make it work. I want to urge the current contestants to keep improving their entries because other contestants might submit much better entries on the last day (tomorrow) and rob you of your deserved prize. The contest closes at 12 midnight tomorrow (Friday), so you have just 37 hours 30 minutes to go! |
Can you explain how you get the dollars at CBN rates? |
kcjazz:Yes, just replied. If you can find a way to work with the N1m budget in the rules, that will really help a lot. ![]() |
It's better to live and be a part of Nigeria's prosperity. Death is always a tragedy. Wisdom is profitable. |
I wish we had copied a screenshot. It was probably a programming bug. |
LOL. ![]() |
How is it now? |
He copied articles from the Internet and pasted them together. I could tell. |
It's Tuesday. I've received only one submission so far, which will probably be disqualified for plagiarism. |
Get more ram. At least 3GB. You'll be shocked by the performance. Also, uninstall unnecessary programs. |
Fuel importation business. Diesel-powered vehicles. Small diesel generators. Telecommuting. |
Can someone post a picture of the actual bridge the OP is talking about? |
Hello, I'd like to inform everyone that the submission window of the media lending business strategy essay contest is now open. It ends on Friday this week. The contest involves writing an original essay about how you would set up a profitable media lending business with just 1 million naira. For the sake of this contest, 'media' means: books, DVDs, CDs, e-books, music/video streams, or any subset of the above. The first prize is N60k, second prize N30k, and third prize N15k. I think the primary benefit of this contest will be the discovery of sharp, creative minds worth doing business with. Good luck! Seun Osewa. |

I believe in freedom of speech. If you feel I'm dumb, you're free to criticize me. If you feel you know something I don't know, you're free to share your precious wisdom with me. So yesterday, a childhood acquaintance decided to slam me publicly for not changing the "software" of Nairaland (meaning the look). She went further to call me an old man in a young man's body, suggesting that I'm not open to change, and to say that "charity begins at home", meaning I should not invest in other things until I change the look of Nairaland, because in her opinion, that's the issue that needs the most urgent attention on Nairaland. I beg to differ. I don't believe in change for the sake of change. Never have, never will. I remember when I used to look up to the webmaster behind Face Of Festac. He installed a gallery script that allowed people to post pictures and comment on those pictures, and it was a hit! It had over 1000 visits per day. But then, the webmaster decided to "upgrade" the site by turning it into some sort of weird private social network, and his visitors left. I remember when I used to visit the MySQL Performance Blog almost every day. It had simple theme with a nice, legible font. Then they changed it, and now I really hate going there. So I don't believe in changing the elements of sucessful website for no reason, because you could end driving away people who like your site just as it is. I will never change the look of Nairaland just to satisfy people who want change for it's own sake. I don't take unecessary risks. But apart from that, changing Nairaland's look is not as trivial as an uninformed person would think. The theme has evolved a lot over time, with lots of little changes every month to accomodate the genuine needs of Nairaland members. If we move to another theme, all those changes will have to be ported to the new theme. Mistakes will inevitably be made, costing us to lose traffic as we struggle to fix those mistakes. We have much to lose and nothing to gain. Naijahotjobs used to be Nairaland's number 1 competitor. Some months ago, they changed their look and migrated to Vbulletin. How is that working out for them? |
She's making impact as a blogger. |
