₦airaland Forum

It seems as if game development is about to become much more lucrative!

Independent movies are movies that are not marketed
by the major studios in Hollywood, a good example is
the Blair Witch

Actually, the Blair Witch Proect was marketed by Hollywood studios, but was produced independently,

The thread is useless without pictures. Please, please, somebody post a picture of RMD's butt!

Any more?

Can the candidate be based in Nigeria?

You have to understand that Nairaland is not an underground forum like some of the sites you mentioned.

I'm very sorry, but this step isn't optional to me. Nairaland is an open site, nothing we do is hidden.

The free browsing links will also be removed. We are already doing this - haven't you noticed?

We cannot allow people to use the forum to break the law and cheat.
Please understand that as a webmaster, I have no choice in this matter.
I have to comply with the laws of Nigeria and the policies of my web host.

Update: This includes free browsing based on illegal acts, unfortunately.

If you march against them, what do you achieve, really? The best you can do is get involved in politics and support the best candidates by voting or them, donating to their campaigns, creating public service ads for them, etc. Those of us who can't get involved in politics should just hope for the best.

Great idea, zagozago. Do you know anyone who is interested in becoming a moderator?

The world don't like being invaded by the US.

It's not interesting without a source.

Lnks posted by spammers are usually blocked

I don't see you deploying your front facing web app with cherrypy since, its only a development server and not a production server

Says who? It's multithreaded, it's fast, and it automatically reloads when you update your web app or any configuration file. What more does a production server require?

I love you all, but it is illegal to do these things, and if I allow it I will be considered an accessory to the crime.

We Can't Support The Use Of This Forum For Piracy. Sorry. We can only discuss legitimate downloads through the itunes store and placeslike that.

Thanks for posting!

Thanks.

Ok, I hereby a citizen police force to enforce compliance?
If you notice a "US" or "Canadian" spec car without a VIN,
keep harassing the seller until he/shecomplies with the strong recommendation.
This is a commercial board.  it will be hard to find a neutral moderator.
Let us see how far community responsibility can take us.

They are relentless. They use cybercafes and proxies. They wake up every morning to spam Nairaland.

Living in VI is worth it. Living in Lekki Is Worth is. Ikoyi and Ikeja maybe. Otherwise, no!

For some applications, the ugliness may be irrelevant, but such applications are usually web friendly.

I want to upgrade, but the risks and work involved outweigh the potential rewards.
Success is a pain, but I'm not complaining. And I don't like the new templates at all.

Based on my little understanding of this VIN issue, deleting adverts without VIN would put local sellers at a disadvantage, because they might not have the VIN.  If I'm wrong, please correct me.

@igwe: why are you posting in all caps? that's rude.

I'm happy that you want what's best for Nairaland. Personally, I find it annoying when links open in a new window, and I think many people feel the same way. If I want a link to open in a new tab, I'll right-click.

You can buy a website and promote it, but you cannot buy quality pageviews, really. You can buy spam.

Can anyone give a summarized step as to how to get my apache webserver to run python

Error. Don't use apache if you don't have to.

if possible, else give how to make it run on my localhost.

As I mentioned earlier, CherryPy comes with a built-in multi-threaded python web server. www.cherrypy.org

Has anyone developed desktop apps aside the web using Python?

I think it would be a challenge to write a desktop app with python, unless the app is open source.
The GUI framework that comes with Python isn't very popular. It is possible, but it's a challenge.
