TV/MoviesRe: Developing My Little Super Hero Movie by Seun(mod): 11:41am On May 03, 2008
I took some time off to shoot and edit an event video. I can't believe how time-consuming the editing process it; You literally have to watch every second of the footage several times to know what to cut and what to include in the final footage. I have gained a new level of respect for those who do this for a living; their job is probably harder than movie editing because there's no script to guide them, less time to edit, and less money involved.

It's been almost a week and I'm still trying to make sense of the 4.5 hours of footage I got. After two bad attempts, I have finally compressed the main ceremony into a 36 minute video. I'm going to create a second video showing arrivals, departures and stolen shots that didn't make it into the main video. When that's over, I'll have more time for film-making. Meanwhile, I've learned new things about my camcorder, DVD production, editing, etc.

The first reply is spot-on. It's childish. If he 'fails' you won't dump him. You'll try again later.

What is the logline of your story? That's what sells a script.

CelebritiesRe: Christina Milian Vs Ini Edo: Who Is Da Bomb - Brains, Talent And Beauty by Seun(mod): 4:06pm On Apr 30, 2008
I'll give "beauty" to Christina Milan but as far as brains and acting talent are concerned, I'll give it to Ini Edo. Christina Milan is a musician who sometimes acts. Ini Edo is an actress who acts all the time. A real actress. where acting s concerned, I'll vote for Ini Edo. wink

TV/MoviesHow To Make Friends In The Movie Industry? by Seun(mod): 3:52pm On Apr 30, 2008
Any tips on how to initiate and nurture creative partnerships that can boost one's film-making dreams? I've not had much luck with this. Some bad experiences have made me too shy to develop the best contacts I have, out of fear that they will inevitably turn sour. Film people seem to "fall out" a lot, but I want people I can make movies with happily ever after.
TV/MoviesWhat Nollywood Films Are Known For? by Seun(mod): 3:45pm On Apr 30, 2008
Indian movies are known for their music, supported by colorful sets and costumes, flamboyant cinematography, and melodramatic romantic stories. Asian movies are known for their action, supported by martial arts and wire-fu stunts. Hollywood movies are known for their big budgets, supported by everything lots of money can buy.

But what positive things are Nollywood films known for?

My opinion: the down-to-earth nature of their plots, the dynamic (shaky) camera work, the dry-looking locations and costumes: these factors give Nigerian movies a documentary feel. They feel like real life stories. Maybe that's what's unique about Nollywood movies? Maybe they are good at making us feel they could happen in real life? I know that's why my friend likes to watch Super Story; she believes the stories are based on real life stories.

What do you think? What's unique about Nigerian movies? In what respects are they superior to foreign ones?

RomanceRe: Romance And Social Class by Seun(mod): 8:57pm On Apr 28, 2008
Money does not necessarily bring class and vice versa. You might be very rich as a man and yet be a complete asshole when it comes in terms of managing your matrimonial home.
Being a complete asshole has nothing to do with social class. There are complete assholes in every class.

In a flash, just saw myself off the okada and on the floor,
I've had a similar experience. The front tire of the okada I was riding passed under a car and I found myself a few feet away. Standing. Till this moment I have no recollection of getting off that bike. I must have jumped, heh.
