PoliticsRe: Vice President's Father Dies In Aso Rock by Seun(mod): 6:04pm On Dec 16, 2007
Why this man go die for aso Rock in the presence of his son?
That's the best thing that could happen. You want him to die in the absence of his son?
PhonesRe: MTN 3.5g! The Snare Has Already Caught My Friend! by Seun(mod): 6:03pm On Dec 16, 2007
1800 naira doesn't sound like a lot of money. Multilinks users pay 500 per day for dial-up speed; it's horrible! What you need to know is the actual cost per gigabyte that they are charging. God, we need broadband. cry cry
RomanceRe: Should I Be Friends With My Boss? by Seun(mod): 5:58pm On Dec 16, 2007
You sincerely believe that your boss is "dangerously hot"
You want to be "so close" with him like your old buddies.
You want to befriend him in order to get ahead. Hmmm.
You want to be "so close" to a "dangerously hot" person. lipsrsealed
FashionRe: My Fat Friend Wants To Wear Tight Clothes by Seun(mod): 5:33pm On Dec 16, 2007
How do I tell her nicely she is far too fat for tight clothes
"Don't you think something loose and elegant will flatter your figure better?"
(you don't need to call her "too fat". That would be an unnecessary insult)

PoliticsRe: Creating A Nigerian Welfare State by Seun(mod): 4:55pm On Dec 15, 2007
Welfare state? I don't want it. I cannot entrust my welfare into the hands of a government that cannot perform its basic duties. I'll rather have my destiny in my own hands and in the hands of people who voluntary choose to help me because they believe I'm worth helping. Thank you.
PoliticsRe: Religious Riot In Bauchi Over Demolished Mosque by Seun(mod): 4:52pm On Dec 15, 2007
Are you trying to tell me that all the Engineers and the medical doctors who have blown themselves up in the name of Islam were not educated??
You can't deny that education helps. Especially in Nigeria.
The Nigerians who kill in the name of Allah are all illiterates.

Another advantage that southern muslims have is that in their
day to day living they are forced to live with Christians. They
cannot segregate themselves because they are in the minority.
RomanceRe: Should I Be Friends With My Boss? by Seun(mod): 4:31pm On Dec 15, 2007
We both agreed to contact each other only when help is needed or to say just hello by e-mail only.
There must be more to this story than meets the eye, because people normally don't ask for permission to send email to their bosses when help is needed. I'm guessing your boss asked you out and you said, "no, but let's just be friends". That would explain your guilt?
Christianity EtcRe: Redeemed Church Opens World's Biggest Auditorium, Costs N7.7b by Seun(mod): 4:48pm On Dec 14, 2007
your congregation is in tens of millions, now assuming you hold a service for them once every month and you get almost a million in attendance, do u keep them out in the open under the sun and in the rain when you have a couple billions in your account ---NO
Why must you hold such a service? Have you ever heard the education minister wake up one day and ask all the millions of students in the country to gather in one auditorium for a meeting? Have you ever heard of the president waking up one day and asking all the members of the civil service to gather in one spot for a meeting every month? SO why must RCCG invite people from all over the country to meet in one place? Can't they meet in their various local churches like members every other large organization?

Is it really necessary for every RCCG member to be in the same meeting with GO at the same time? Even if he has to meet with every member (which is not so, since he is neither Jesus nor the Holy Spirit) why can't he go on a nationwide tour of the parishes? In a period of one year he could visit 365 different large parishes or stadiums to meet his people. Or better still, he can just reach them through television (which, ironically, he already does). So it's unnecessary.

However, from the business point of view, it may be more profitable. When offerings are taken in redemption camp, the money doesn't have to be shared with the people running local parishes. It cannot be stolen by intermediaries. it cannot be embezzled by parish pastors or area pastors. Apart from that, people will tend to part with more money because they are in the direct presence of baba. So at the end of the day, the building may end up paying for itself, in which case this would be a very smart and gutsy business decision. I have nothing against smart businessmen. wink

When people are brought up to believe in imaginary things, this is the inevitable result.
Children who should be enjoying parental love and care are treated as criminals for no reason.

BusinessRe: ATM Thieves Are Here Again: Beware! by Seun(mod): 11:29am On Dec 14, 2007
Ironically, the people that sent these scam mails are some useless nairaland members.
1) How do you know they are Nairaland members?
2) And how does that matter since the mail wasn't sent through Nairaland?

Just because someone registered on Nairaland doesn't mean I have anything to do with that person.
I don't see you mentioning the fact that they are"Yahoo.com members" or "MTN users".
I am tired of this wrong habit of associating Nairaland with scams for flimsy reasons. angry angry

TV/MoviesRe: The Africa Channel On Sky TV Is Excellent by Seun(mod): 2:19pm On Dec 13, 2007
Actually, I don't think you can see the difference between DV25 and Digibeta in a normal broadcast. Don't forget that the broadcast is compressed digitally using MPEG2 which is more lossy than both DV25 and Digibeta. The only difference you are seeing, if not entirely of your imagination - is the quality of the camera used, lighting, etc. Another important fact: most Nigerian shows are shot in the HDV format and not DV25. Jacob's cross is a big budget show so I don't see why they would settle for a DV camcorder after paying through their noses for everything else. Cheers!

TV/MoviesRe: The Africa Channel On Sky TV Is Excellent by Seun(mod): 1:24pm On Dec 13, 2007
the soaps I saw were high quality. The camera angles are very good and the pictures have been treated,
Hmmm. TV stations do not choose camera angles for shows they carry.

the only one that was a bit so-so was a Nigerian soap called "Jacobs Cross"
(1) "So so" in what respect? Picture quality or story quality?
(2) How come the only show you remember is the "so so" one?

Content, quality of productions is comparable to anything you will see on main stream channels. The signals are clearer which tells me the bandwidth they are using is more than that of Ben or Passion or AIT. Their promos are excellent, voice overs are just fantastic
Hmmm. Congrats. wink
