I can ban them from television. I can ban them from playing their favorite video games. I can ban them from sitting on my lap. I can ban them from enjoying the saintly smile on my face. A smile to die for!

So, in short, I can 'ban' my kids the same way I ban people on this forum - without brutality!

If you hit a child because you feel angry, you are teaching him to lash out violently when he also becomes angry. You are teaching him that might is right. And that is part of what leads to violence!! Violent behavior towards an adult or child (except in self-defense) is bad behavior as far as I am concerned.

My dad only slapped me once in his life and it was unnecessary and unhelpful. Perhaps I'm badly-behaved as a result of that (afterall, I don't go to church anymore) , but I don't do many bad things that the average 25 year old guy does. I don't drink or smoke, party or fornicate. And I'm dedicated to my work.

Being a model is not that hard. Anyone that can pose for a picture can be a model. Being a professional model, on the other hand, i.e. earning your daily bread from it, is not easy. If she wins this competition, she's going to have a better chance to make it, but I don't think that career is the best.
