I don't know how you came to that conclusion [ ] but you have done nothing to prove it. The whole essence of having proper organization is to reward those who bring more benefits to others with more power and influence. The free market rewards the most efficient producers with more influence through profit, and brings prosperity. Interventionist governments make cartels and monopolies powerful enough to subvert this wonderful mechanism. That remains a problem. The less the government intervenes, the more we'll have competition in markets leading to rapid development. Democracy rewards the most popular people, not necessarily the most effective. |
My fear about selling NEPA is that one of these politicans will buy it.That's why I suggested breaking it up before selling it. It is not possible for producers to "milk" their customers in the presence of competent competition. It is only in the absence of competition that this can occur. |

Football hairdo alarm in Nigeria Attempts are gathering pace to stop young Nigerian footballers from wearing hair braids, dreadlocks and earrings. Many of Nigeria's top footballers, including their captain Jay-Jay Okocha and top striker Nwankwo Kanu, have their hair braided, but some football officials seem to have had enough. One senior football official has ordered the removal of any unacceptable players at an upcoming junior tournament. He said their behaviour was not culturally acceptable and promoted homosexuality. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/3694778.stm Men, see how the homophobes are dragging Nigeria's name through the mud! |
I have heard about a virus that causes computers to restart when you try to logout, hibernate, visit the Control Panel, etc (Brontox, I think) so it's not hard to imagine that your problem is due to yet another exotic virus. Try scanning your PC for viruses and spyware to see if that's the problem. If all else fails, re-install! ![]() |

Idumota branch, Idumota,Lagos Dear Friend, This letter may come to you as a surprise due to the fact that we have not yet met. The message could be strange but real if you pay some attention to I could have notified you about it at least for the sake of your integrity. Please accept my sincere apologies. In bringing this message of goodwill to you,I have to say that I have no intentions of causing you any embarrassent. I am Dr Sam Otun, Branch Manager, FSB International Bank Plc. I managed toget your contact details through the Internet myself. Time is of utmost importance and I am desperately looking for a person to assist me in this confidential businss. A British oil consultant/contractor with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Mr. Boris Kauscher made a numbered time (Fixed) Deposit on January 6, 2002,valued at US$25,000,000.00 (Twenty- five Million Dollars),for twelve (12)calenda months in my branch. Upon maturity, I sent a routine notification to his forwarding address but got no reply. After a month,we sent a reminder and finally we discovered from his contract employers, the,Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation that Mr Boris Kauscher died in an automobile accident. On further investigation, I found out that he died without making a WILL and all attempts to trace his next of kin was fruitless. I therefore made further investigation and discovered that Mr.Boris Kascher Best did not declare any kin or relations in all his official documents, including his Bank Deposit paperwork in my Bank. This sum of US$25,000,000.00 is still sitting in my Bank and the interest is being rolled over with the principal sum at the end of each year. No one will ever come forward to claim it. According to Nigerian Law, at the expiration of 4 (four) years, the money will revert to the ownership of the Nigerian Government if nobody applies to claim the fund. Consequently, my proposal is that I will like you as a foreigner to stand in as the next of kin to Mr. Boris Kauscher so that the fruits of this old man's labor will not get into the hands of some corrupt government officials. This is simple, I will like you to provied immediately your full names and address so that the attorney will prepare the necessary documents and affidavits that will put you in place as the next of kin. We shall employ the service of two lawyers for drafting and notarization of the WILL and to obtain the necessary documents and letter of probate/administration in your favour for the transfer. A bank account in any part of the world that you will provide will then facilitate the transfer of this money to you as the beneficiary/next of kin. The money will be paid into your account for us to share in the ratio of 70% for me and 25%for you.5% will be for expenses There is no risk at all as all the paperwork for this transaction will be done by the attorney and my position as the Branch Manager guarantes the successful execution of this transaction. If you are interested, please reply immediately via the private email address below:dr_sotun@yahoo.com.hk Upon your response, I shall then provide you with more details and relevant documents that will help you understand the transaction. Please observe utmost confidentiality, and rest assured that this transaction would be most profitable for both of us because I shall require your assistance to invest my share in your country. Awaiting your urgent reply via my email address. Thanks and regards, Dr .Sam Otun. NB: Please respond to my private email dr_sotun@yahoo.com.hk |
The girl is nice looking. She's ok. She's fine in her own unique way. |
Come on!!! The Death penalty should be for all the Looters first, lets start with them!!!You're only saying this because there's no "looter" - i.e. politician - in your immediate family. That's selfish justice! What gives you the moral right to call for the death of "looters" when you have students in your family who may have "looted" in their own little way by cheating in exams? Who says they wouldn't loot if given the opportunity? |
Oops. the job is not what i thought it was: As a Communications and Information Systems Controller (CISCON) you will be involved in the management of computerised information systems and operation of communications systems which support the whole of the Defence Force.Sounds rather nice. Good luck! |
No. Too risky. Well, it depends. Australia isn't fighting any wars, is it? Aren't you more of an IT person? |
There are better ways to make money. What do you really love to do or know how to do? |
Thanks for the correction. African teams In Germany 2006 - Angola - Ghana - Ivory Coast - Togo - Tunisia |
I think this is a thread that is worth monitoring and updating as the world cup progresses. A thread for discussing the African teams vying for the world cup: - Ghana - Ivory Coast - and Togo How have they done so far? |
Thanks for your offer, hrh. Can you tell us about areas where one can invest in agriculture and the power sector? I'm interested in these areas but I do not have a lot of capital and I'm not an electrical engineer or agriculturist. What can I do? |
If you know me very well, you know that I hold the value of a human life higher than any other thing. That's enough, oga woleprof. Let's face the topic and avoid personal attacks. |
it is ok to 'fight' as long as your 'fights' are on this thread only and not spread all over the board. fighting on other places can lead to a ban, but if you open a single thread here or in the recycle bin to fight, it's just drama. |
Getting a good wife can only be fairly compared to getting a good job that you must hold for the rest of your life. Fortunately, nobody needs such a job: the freedom to move from job to job is always there in a dynamic economy. So yes, it's easier to get a "good job" than to get a "good wife", but that's only because marriages are supposed to last for a lifetime while jobs are not. A 'dynamic' marriage culture would have been perfect nice if not for the negative impact that would have on children. Why are we all so desperate to get married and have children anyway? ![]() |
ASUU has 'expressed concern' over the rate at which the Federal Government is approving private universities. What a joke! The public university professors, pathetically, don't want competition! They are claiming scarcity of lecturers which makes no sense: - How will we have enough lecturers when there are not enough universities to train them? - Did the private universities complain that they do not have enough lecturers to perform their duties? - Won't private universities be able to lure more top students into lecturing with higher salaries? - What about the many Nigerian lecturers abroad? Private universities can convince them to return! - Don't lecturers have the right to work for whichever university will give them the best pay? |
What are your career aspirations? The certification you take depends entirely on that! |
What was the final score? |
I maintain that "Evil is nonexistent; it is the absence of good."Someone else will say that "good does not exist, it is the absence of evil", which is also meaningless nonsense. Our argument is simple and easy to understand if you speak English. Stop trying to obscure it. All things GOD created is goodSatan is good. War is good. Earthquakes are good. September 11 was good. Rage, envy, hatred are all good. Psychopaths are good. Military rule and tyrants too. Murder is good; genocide even better. Ok, I hear you! |
Ok, it's a joke. Those that know me well know that I love to write such jokes. I was just trying to expose the folly of thinking that the way to stamp out corruption is by imposing extremely harsh laws, whereas the rest of the world is moving in the other direction. If students know that they will be sent to jail for even one week, most of them won't cheat. But they know that they won't be caught, and so the penalty doesn't really matter. It is unjust to agitate for a penalty that is more weighty than the crime itself, when what is really needed is to be more efficient at catching offenders. Moreso, if a law is too harsh, then it will be more difficult to catch any perpetrators of the offense. Would you report your classmate for exam malpractices if you know that such a person will be killed? Hell no! Do you know why Nigerian armed robbers kill with impunity? It is because armed robbery carries a death sentence whether or not people are actually shot or killed. So if you are an armed robber, and you know that you will die when you are caught whether you kill or not, won't you prefer to kill anybody that stands in your way? That's why Nigerian robbers are daredevils. The sentence for armed robbery should be lighter than that for murder. Some people have suggested the death sentence for political corruption, but do you really think the politicians will allow themselves to be caught if they know the penalty is so high? It would be better to make the penalty light - maybe 2 to 5 years in prison - but structure the system such that nobody will be able to escape justice. When there is a way you can solve a problem without taking or wasting people's lives, and you proceed to use an approach that costs people their lives, then how can you claim to be better than a murderer? Senators please note this: it is unjust and unnecessary for laws to come with punishments that exceed the crime. |
How could you sleep? V for Vendetta was a very engaging movie! Hrmpph! |
Evil is not the absence of good. Evil is: 1. The quality of being morally bad or wrong; wickedness. 2. That which causes harm, misfortune, or destruction: a leader's power to do both good and evil. 3. An evil force, power, or personification. 4. Something that is a cause or source of suffering, injury, or destruction: the social evils of poverty and injustice. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/evil layi: God wanted beigns to worship him in spirit and in truth out of their own volition not compulsion like robots. He decided to create it that way because it would give him pleasure. If an imperfect parent can motivate her child, who is not a robot, to go along the right path, why not God? The all-knowing God who 'directs the heart of kings', and understands the intricate details psychology of men he created, should be able to motivate/inspire all human beings and angels to serve him willingly. His decision not to do so indicates that either: 1) God is wicked: he takes pleasure in the suffering of his creations on earth and in hell. 2) Or He simply does not exist and that's all there is to it! |
Exam malpractices have become pervasive in our society. It has been reported that Nigerian students routinely cheat during national exams at all levels - Primary School Leaving Certificate, JSCE, SSCE and JAMB - and even during regular tests and exams in their various schools. A drastic solution is required. I hereby propose the use of the death sentence on Nigerian students accused of exam malpractices. The death sentence has been used with great success against armed robbers in our country, and it has even been suggested for drug pushers and corrupt politicians. I say we wipe out these corrupt elements before they grow up to become robbers, politicians, or drug pushers. If a primary school student is caught cheating, she should pay with her life. If they are not too young to cheat, they are not too young to die. And die they must! Some may say that this is too harsh, but I say it's too lenient, because Nigeria is much more important than the life of its citizens. Not only must we put students to death when they are accused of exam malpractices, we must extend this appropriate punishment to their parents, teachers, exam officials, and girlfriends. Yes. We must also make it illegal for any Nigerian to protest against this law once adopted. Harsh laws are what we need to turn this country around, because naughty children don't deserve human rights. They deserve death. |
So lonely. So lonelie! So Lonelee. So lonely!!! |
