Instead of going for redmi note 8, i would rather advice u to go for redmi note9s 64gb variants is around that price and looks more mordern than note 8.

That camera was placed at the center because of material integrity of the frame, infact that circular cut out was reinforced to avoid the repeat of one plus disaster.
Circular cut out always weaken the frame structure of phone casing, placing it where u suggested would have been structural disaster for that phone.

Bro stop that, Tecno did Africans no favour at all, if anything, Tecno is exploiting Africans with thier product due to the fact that average Africans don't do research other than what he/she was told.
Tecno product is expensive viz a viz other brands around spec for spec and tecno lies alot about the specs which makes it even more expensive.

Check other manufacturers who uses same specs and you will see their price is much more cheaper.
Let me give u example,
Latest Tecno camon which cost 95k has mediatek P35 a 3 years old very low uncapable chips, triple camera ( even though mediatek says p35 can only support double camera settings) no gorrila glass, no type C usb, 5watts charger which takes 5 to 6hrs to fully charge the battery, plastic body, No eis, no OIS etc while xiaomi note 9s cost average of 80k with latest snapdragon 720G, 18watts charger but 22.5wats out of box, gorilla glass screen, higher ppi, type C usb, 30pfs camera recording genuine multiple cameras, OIS, EIS, atleast 3 major software update is guaranteed to list but few. Tell me which one is sincerely cheap and which one is stealing from people.
Lèt me give u another example, realme x 50 cost just 110k it has snapdragon 765G the younger brother of super SD865, tripple camera, gorrila glass, NFC, 30watt charger, 400ppi, OIS, EIS, 5G, 30fps recording etc and it cost just 100k or 110k depending on the variant, yet tecno with chips that will hang on u cost 95k.

Don't forget the price of phone increased this year because Qualcomm the leading chips maker unfairly increased the price of chips this year, imagine this did not happned, those phone would have been alot cheaper.
You are supposed to even be happy that average Nigerian's eyes has now open to the stealing and open exploitation done by tecno and trassion, this will make tecno and trassion to sit up and give Africans better value for money instead of stone age treatment tecno is giving us, except you are one of Tecno online image maker which makes u as guilty as Tecno it self.

Honestly Tecno is a criminal company, see phone with Snapdragon 765G, the younger brother of Snapdragon 865, 30watt charger, 399ppi, 120hz refresh rate, 30fps video recording, NFC, EIS, OIS, 5G etc for 110k while tecno with one of the worst chips set mediatek p35, fake camera claim, 5watt charger that takes 5 to 6hrs to charge, 200+ ppi, no NFC, no EIS, no OIS, no type C port, no 5G, software upgrade is not guarantee and plastic body, no gorilla glass going for 95k.

If tecno releases a phone this good, i guess we should be expecting the price to be 300k.

You just reminded me of what happened 2 day's before the lockdown.

The big butt slay queen was telling me about tecno camon 12 as the best camera phone, I asked her what the kind of
processor the device uses and she replied octa core after looking at a pamphlet. I asked her if she knew what is mediatek or Qualcomm. The dumbo was quite. I wanted to get the redmi 8 but my cash was not up to the price that was when that babe brought tecno thinthinking she was dealing with a novice.

Some times i wonder what is wrong with us, it is a crime that u are selling inferior quality but it is a bigger crime that u don't even know what u are selling.

I noticed it that those ladies dont even know about phone or their respective parts, even if u dont have interest in it b4, u have to start knowing about it from the day u starts selling it.

I was at the slot in march, i wanted samsung galaxy S 10lite but they kept agureing with me that their is nothing like that, it is only galqxy note 10 lite that samsung produces,, i had to google it for them before their engineer said it is not available in Nigeria, they also told me note 10 lite is the same thing with s 10 lite, i had to call their attension to the processor which they dont even know the difference btw exynos and snapdragon.

I'm sure majority of tecno marketers here also don't know much about phones until we started tackling them.

Honestly i dont know what tecno gives those people, if u ask for one product, they will present u with tecno. Sometimes if u dont know ur onions, they will make u looks as if u dont know what u are doing.

I trust tecno, na 95k be that. My only but isthe 10watt charger, it is too poor considering what is obtainable today, only tecno still use 5watt charger.

How time flies, there was a time this phone and it predecessor was the best andriod phone, the reigning king and the talk about by every reviewer.

Why is tecno paying somany people to push this trash online, they even paid GSMarena but got serious backclash and the comment section was removed, they paid unboxing therapy, he got the criticism of his life and they paid some heartless and jobless guys on nairaland and i'm happy people are giving it to them well.
Why will a phone maker use worthless chips on it phones, lies about camera MPs, Camera setup, no USB type C, still uses 5wat charger and calls it fast charging and then put exuberant price on it.

Isn't it wise to use the money they are paying wizzy, Davido and agents to give fake reviews to buy better chips for their product?
If they have covenant with P35, P22, P23 and A22, why can they bring the price down to the level of such chips instead of demanding big money for trash and then turn around and pay some other people to boost sales.

Mediatek says their chips can only supports maximum of 25Mega pixel, foolish Infinix and trassion said their phone selfie camera is 40Mega pixel.

Mediatek also said their chips can only support dual camera max of 13+13, how can infinix claim triple camera setup?

People who patronise infinix, tecno and other trassion product are extremely foolish and taken for granted.

If you want to be spoiled by the 90hz screen refresh rate, go with realme 6/pro. If that doesn't bother you, go with note 8 pro

Realme 6 also have supper fast charging speed with 30watt charger while redmi can only support 18wat.
Redmi has alot of fans in Nigeria so u can quickly get support from any of them while realme has few.
Also note that mediatek G90T heats under presure.
Realme 6 pro or xiaomi note 9s is better buy

On average 2years but when it can no longer serve me properly. I'm intense app user and i noticed that when phone clock 2years + they starts to find it difficult to effectively run some apps especially phones with lower midrange chips, because of that i usaully go for higher midrange or premium chips which can still handles demanding apps upto 5 years.

@Bolded I knew Qualcomm will never give up, they v faced different challenges at every segement of the market and they came on top. My only beef with them is that they hold the market to ransom and dictate negatively which has impacted consumer in a negative manner. Imagine midrange going up to $600 while flagship killers going up to $1000+ just because Qualcomm decided to increase price by his own wisdom and there is no alternative capable chips except over heating mediatek and lagging exynos, while kirin has technically been killed by american policies and Intel Atom is dead abd burried.

wait for a 5nm like the exynos 1000 then you compare

I think Qualcomm has also develope their 5nm semi conductor, that is one of the reasons why people criticize them, their innovation is too slow and the little they have are lockdown because their is no competition and chanlenging innovation in the sector. TSMC has 5nm+ semiconductor, mediatek failed to utilize it because their is no urge in the market.

Xiaomi will soon announce their phone with exynos soc in the last quarter of the year, so xiaomi fans can only hope for good performance from exynos. Mediatek G series xiaomi is using as alternative to Snapdragon 700 series is having serious heating problems.

Exynos is not exclusive to samsung, other OEM has used it in the past. Motorola, Meizu, Vivo, realme etc has all used exynos in the past but they had trouble pushing it because of perfomace issue, infact 2 Vivo phones S6 and v X30 both 5G are using exynos 980. The reason why everybody is happy about the partnership with AMD is that OEM can now use Exynos without concern of poor performance anymore, this will break the monopoly of Snapdragon and price will eventuality come down. Don't forget Mediatek is also pushing seriously with Dimensity 1000 which is also reported to beat Snapdragon 865 but OEM are sketptical because of mediatek cheat history.

The greed of Snapdragon as a result of unfair dominance, imagine those OEM that normally ship $500 flaship increased their prices or some had to sacrifice other exciting features make up for Snapdragon unfair price hike.
