PoliticsRe: Lady Sara Forbes The Yoruba Slave Who Became Goddaughter To The Queen Of England by Seventeen(f): 7:39pm On Jan 13, 2016
dhummystecah:
It is kind of a series based on a historical book.

*Summary
12 years old Aminata was kidnapped from a village in West Africa during the American Revolution. She was sold into slavery along with other captives, she was taken to South Carolina. She worked on a plantation there. She fell in love and married Chekura (her fellow slave) despite the advances from her master. Later on she gave birth to a baby girl, the jealous master sold her baby. The couple was heartbroken. An inspector took pity on her and bought her from the master. She escaped from him with the help of her friend (Luscious from Empire) and went to a negro town, her husband later joined her there. Together they faced the challenges in her quest to return to Africa.
smileythat guy wasnt Lucious oo, though the look kind of alike.. That was Cuba Gooding Jnr.. Lucious real name is Terrence Howard. smiley

NYSCRe: How Much Did You Make During Your Nysc Service Year? by Seventeen(f):
I served in one dry, dead, local village in Nasarawa state. We did nothing but sleep and eat. The villagers were so happy and honoured to have us and always gave us food stuff and chickens for free. There was practically nothing to do with our govt allowance and there was nothing to do to make any extra money. The school where i taught was owned by the catholic church, they paid us nothing cos there was no money to b honest. The pupils were kids of poor fammers. The dint even pay school fees, the school had no uniforms, the priest said they had tried in the past but the parents of the kids culdnt afford it. Pencil and exercise book sef, na war. The whole staff in the school including the headmaster were corpers... cheesy. I think i had upto 90k in my account at the end of my service year. Apart from money for toiletries (which we had to travel all the way to Akwanga to get) , The only money i spent was for transportation and spending whenever i travelled out of the village or state. I culdnt wait to leave but i really did enjoy the peaceful and stressfree life of that one year, it was like living in another world after the 4years of hustle and bustle of Uni. Na wa ooo.. OP thanks for making me go through memory lane. its been a while since i reminisced about NYSC days oo. Cheiii i don old oo cheesy
FoodRe: See The Prize Of Chin Chin In A Restaurant In Lekki (photo) by Seventeen(f):
Habaa... Its not that outrageous naa. I make snacks on de side, and that normal big custard bucket of my ordinary backyard chinchin is 3500. So if one big eatery wey de form high standard decides to sell a large bowl of chinchin for 5500 its no suprise. I remember those days in uni wearing my cheap jewelry of 100-200 naira and my local hand bags of not more than 500 naira for d good one oo... (for my level then) cheesy.... Wen my aunties say dey bought jewelry or a hand bag for 10k-20k i go just de shout "Aaaah! I no fit" and they will b like "wen u hv d money, u go fit, what is 10k". cheesy And truly, now years later, i have jewelry and bags that are worth much more. Even at dat, i still never reach some ppl like Linda Ikeji dem level ooo cheesy. So such is life.

my brother i tire ooo. The girl just wants her baby back.. I wonder why dat part of the story isnt just clear to ppl. I dont care what Davido has said about this girl as far as am concerned he is equally as irresponsible, if not worse. Thank God that girl has an uncle like Dele Momodu. If he really loves dat baby, he shuld gv her a chance to b also loved by her mum. He is just doing all this to punish d baby mama for reasons best known to him. I dont care what he has said about her, he is equally as irresponsible. If the babys well being is really what they are after then Davido and his family shuld just settle dz issue and share custody of d baby with her mum. It might be too late to do anything about it years from now when the impact of all dz starts taking its toll on d the innocent child. Anyhow wey person mama or papa be, d pikin love am oo, Davidoo

Having read from all sides - the Adelekes, Momodus, NAPTIP and on twitter, NL and all... I choose to be on the side of the Momodus.
Davido and his family overdid it. They could have carry her along and that wont stop both sides from moving on with their lives. But stopping a mother from seeing her child without any court order to do so and to take major decisions on a less-than-a-year old baby without the mother's consent is totally impunity and they should be dealt with.
Thank you Jare.
Christianity EtcRe: There Are Plans To Assassinate Buhari – Mbaka by Seventeen(f): 1:50am On Jan 02, 2016
AlPeter:
You seem not to know what Christianity is about. God choose Samuel, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Moses, Ezekiah, even DAVID priests and gave them messages for the nation of Israel. God has always been interested in politics and one of the reasons Nigeria is this way is partly because good Christians who have the fear of God shy away from politics. We need more ministers like Fr Mbaka to come out
u took these words right off my lips. I wonder why ppl feel that God does not care about politics, how can God not care about something dat directly affects his ppl in everyway u can think of. The world at large is messed up because those who know and fear God have like u rightly said shyed away from politics and prophets find it difficult to deliver the bitter truthful messages. God can use anybody and even if Buhari fails tomorro which i pray he doesnt (because his failure wont benefit anyone but the selfish ones who will rather hv him fail just to prove stupid points) but even if he fails it wont mean dat the man of God was wrong. God can send u on a mission and u derail. Even Gej may just have bn also appointed by God but he derailed. All those telling the man of God to mind d bible and not politics honestly dont know what they are saying.

RomanceRe: Why Condom does not guaranty HIV prevention. by Seventeen(f): 4:45pm On Dec 24, 2015
Toks2008:
This is why i say condom use is only a way of reducing but not eliminating the risk.

And even if you marry an HIV negative partner, what is the probability that he/she wont go out to be reckless?

This is why even as individuals,we can only reduce the chance of contracting it by staying faithful to one sexual partner and hope he/she does not bring the virus home.
smiley i agreed with u naa. Dont be defensive and too serious naa, i wasnt attacking ur comment, i honestly meant my comment on a light mood and in a humourous way smiley... Was only expressing my occassional thoughts and fear of how easily one culd also still get this evil virus even wen faithful to a partner, cos it only takes one careless day of falling into temptation by the other party to bring it home. I was like thank God u said 'hope ooo' cos na hope all of us (the faithful ones) the hope o say our partner will also remain faithful. grin
CelebritiesRe: Florence Esu Is Engaged To Her Friend’s Widower Four Months After Death by Seventeen(f):
I just de imagine say na woman marry her late husbands best friend even if na one year after the husbands death...... Cheiiiii, nairaland would have literally bn on fire. Most of the guyz saying the man did nothing wrong and has moved on will be the ppl insulting and reignin unthinkable abuses on the woman had it bn d other way round. How can any one say ds is ok... A man or a woman is free to remarry but there is such a thing as decency and respect. 4months and to ur wives best friend (for d man) or ur best friends husband (for the lady) is certainly not ok.
D guy no try at all at all and for the so called beauty queen/friend/fiancee.. I have no words to even discribe her lack of decency, dignity, selfworth and value.. Cos if she had even but a little of any, she wont agree to this engagement at least not four months after her 'so called best friends death. Unless of course like many hv said, that foul play is involved. When my tailor who was also a close friend died two years ago.. It took me a very very long time to muster the courage to even drive past her former street.. Then i am seriously wondering hw ds babe is so comfortable with all this if she was indeed a friend of d dead lady talk more of close friend. Na wa oooo

I have known this long ago and i have always preached it but there is no harm letting many other people who are ignorant know abi no be so?

In-fact i don't use condom to make love as i prefer to remain faithful to one woman and hopes she no go out go carry am come.
my brother i like that u used d word 'hope' there, cos, omo, na only hope all of us dey hope oo.. I always think to myself that even in a so called faithful relationship all that is needed for a spouse or partner to carry dis tin com gv person na just one careless day of falling into temptation by the other party ooo. Na God go help us oo.
