Please I just head from an agent that if you have ever applied for us lottery before should please keep up to the information you gave out before most especially your age, and your details would show in their computer . I just want to ask if any one know of this news before, if it true or false? Becus I think the agent is trying to do ' I TOO KNOW' just because he head I was doing it my self.
I just have three questions for you:
First, have you ever applied for US lottery?
Second, did you give false details about your age or whatnot( assuming you applied)?
Third, why are you "hearing" from an agent if you are processing your stuff by yourself.
I do not need the answers to these but I pray you catch my drift.
May His wisdom rest and abide with you!

Thanks so much for this. Yes, this is the first time a professor is responding to my mail and I have sent several. I mentioned how wonderful his latest research (summarised the research) is and asked if he will like to be my supervisor. I want to apply for PhD. in the school.

I will send a follow up mail. Thanks again.
So you were requesting mentorship smiley smiley smiley
You are most welcome and may the Force be with you!

Please, someone who has a good advice should go through my post.
Every question or post has a target audience. Obviously the audience for your post are not yet online. When they come around, they will do well to counsel you in their individual capacity. Do you think you can be a little more patient? God bless you too.

I mailed a professor and he asked, in his response, if I have funding. I replied that I was hoping to get from the school but he has not responded since then. Was my response wrong? If yes, what's the best way to respond to such question?

Thanks.
I can imagine how you feel about this so let me quickly share something with you.
First, a lot of professors do not respond to emails, you should be thankful he did reply.
Second, you didn't tell us the content of the mail you sent, I mean what were you seeking? Was it an assistantship, mentorship or you just wanted to establish contact with a faculty? That would explain why he asked about funding.
Third, I won't say your response was wrong but I feel it would have been more "professional". Let me show you:
I have reached out to/ contacted the grad coordinator/ department or so so so about being considered for funding but I am currently awaiting the decision.
While my example may not be perfect, I pray it shows you how passive "I am hoping" sounds. You don't just "hope" for things, you make moves, you CHASE THEM and by letting the professor know the specific steps you have taken so far, you sustain the communication.
Conclusively, I suggest you send a follow-up mail to him. I don't know what you want from him but you might just have to ask again because Nigerians are resilient, we do not go down without a fight!
P.S I am sorry if my response is long, wordy and rambling. I am having cramps and writing makes me feel better, so you might want to forgive me grin grin grin

Hello nairalander my school mail me yesterday about my i-20 saying it ready for mailing so I was sent my school code and my sevis fee number can I go ahead and pay my sevis fee sir while waiting for my i-20 ?
I did that, I paid before receiving my documents since I already had my SEVIS details. I think you can too if you have the money so you can focus on other expenses.
I believe what counts is that you paid the $200 and got confirmation.
Please let me know if you require additional information.

good evening everyone. please my school resumes in august and im just aboy to be issued my i-20. are there still appointment dates for visa available before june. thank you
I checked last night, there are several available dates for May or even April. June and July seemed pretty packed up but you can squeeze yourself. However since you prefer before June, go for your MAY. Be prepared and may the force be with you.

Thank you so much, I should do this.

My suggestion: go to an ordinary photoshop, take a bright and clear photo using a white background and ask them to compress the soft copy to a maximum of 230kb. If they don’t know how to do it(just like my case lol), no worries. Take both Soft and hard copies home. Use a computer to edit the image via “PAINT” and adjust the dimensions till you get a maximum of 230kb. Then you are good to upload. Very stress free. Trust!

Good people of the Nairaland family, I have come to you this day to seek your help in uploading my passport photograph while completing the DS-160.
My passport has been rejected on the basis of compressed artifacts and poor lighting.
I followed all the instructions, I even went to five star studio to snap it oo. I tried the scanned version, i tried the soft copy. Still no show.
Why is it doing me like this na
