why are you guys expecting miracles from Mikel? Haven't you seen the way he plays for Chelsea? even when surrounded by World Class talents? the guy is a defensive midfielder, the key word being defensive.

Look i'm a chelsea fan and i like mikel but he's not a player to boss a midfield. and he's not a goalscorer either. his talent is breaking up opposition plays and getting stuck in. that's the mikel we know at chelsea.

i just can't see where nigeria's goals will come from. This Nigerian team is distinctly average. A far sad cry from 1994. To think the most high profile player in the team is Mikel. Who himself is just a second choice defensive midfielder at Chelsea.

HealthRe: My Girlfriend Is A Sleep-Walker (Somnambulist) by shesi(m): 5:04pm On Aug 27, 2009
we had a guy in boarding school who was a sleep walker. not everyday tho. he was a senior of mine. The kids were usually scared when they first came to boarding school but after a while get used to it. infact except for somethings he used to do which were odd considering the time of day, you wouldn't know he was sleepwalking. serioulsy, its no big deal.

it's not too common but it's commoner than ppl think judging from the responses i'm seeing here.
FoodRe: Is There Any Romantic Nigerian Food? by shesi(m): 2:44pm On Aug 27, 2009
apetizers; hard-boiled eggs sliced into two with hot ground pepper put in the middle.

main course; grilled bushmeat grin and a side of salad. yes salad is african. nobody eats more greens than africans. we just dont call it salad.

dessert: what dessert? you want authentic african experience abi? oya, just drink some water. or coke if you want to live it up. lol.

if the girl a nigerian or african tho? cus if not, those carbohydrate heavy african meals will scare her o.
RomanceRe: Ladies And Underwears by shesi(m): 2:30pm On Aug 27, 2009
cmon gyals. its not just for marking territory people do it for other reasons too.

NUMBER 1
for example if you had a one night stand u can do it for the guy to remeber u by. obviously hes gonna throw it away but at least till u guys stop calling each other he will rmeber u (normally 2 days after tops)

NUMBER 2
also 4 your boo u can do it 2 mark teritory but not necessarry for any girls for anybody in fact! ure not necessarily marking the territory cos lets face it a scrap of material cant hold a mans conji its for fun really. Also for incase u sleep over.

NUMBER 3
Girls leavew it there as a way to move further in the relationship like some guy previously said small small u leave things there the next thing ure staying over one night the next its weekends, just a way of moving further in the relationship.

it is not for marking territory per say neither is it a sign of insecurity in ure relationship. there are different motives behind it. all in all these panties have to be clean in my opinion!
exactly what i was going to say.

i've seen many girls do it. almost all really. Not underwear all the time but little little things. i never really thought of it as 'marking their territory.' More like trying to move the relationship forward so to speak.

if i'm liking the girl, it's cool. if not, it's rather annoying.

lol, this reminds me of that seinfeld episode, lol, where george tried to get a second date by leaving his stuff behind, hahahhaa

Poster pls ask him if he can do this if hes in your situation

Mister
when they lock her husband up, will you become her husband?
when she starts sleeping outside, will that guarantee hapiness?

delete your post
all inconsequential questions. in that case who are any of us or anybody for that matter to offer her advice. i suppose you think she should play it cool, so ask yourself those your questions? if she stays and get beat more and killed, is that you suffering?

what i will do in her situation is exactly what i'm telling her to do. that is , not allow any man to beat you up and think he can get away with it.

the sleeping outside was not a suggestion. it was a scenario to make a point. which i see you missed. suprise suprise.

it's an open forum buddy. you say yours i say mine.
FamilyRe: I Had A Fight With My Husband by shesi(m): 3:33pm On Aug 26, 2009
stories like this annoy me so much.

the guy beat you up and you are the one saying sorry in the morning? abeg call the cops on him quick quick. let the justice system decide if he deserves a second chance.

you go out and have an affair next time you are fighting and see if he gives you a second chance. So he hit you once already and you say that was "just one smash" are you faakin kidding me?

at least you are even better. you fought back. if he comes back home, just tell him you love him and all but you are going to buy yourself a gun for self defense because you have to guarantee your safety and that of your child when he looses his mind like that . just tell him that. he will certainly think more than twice.
TV/MoviesRe: Depiction Of Nigerians In "District 9" by shesi(m): 8:36pm On Aug 25, 2009
Are you sure you live in the States? Til today Italians complain about the Sopranos. Russians also complain about constantly being looked on as being evil. Asians complain about only being seen as kung fu fighters. Everyone bloody complains and that's exactly what we're doing.
Are you sure about that? i have certainly not heard any Italians complaining about Sopranos. Infact, quite the opposite. They love it. That pizza shop in Jersey that is depicted in the series is now a big tourist attraction.

if this district 9 movie was set in london, maybe the tunes would have been diff. it'd be more like our boys are running the show in london.
TV/MoviesRe: Depiction Of Nigerians In "District 9" by shesi(m): 7:53pm On Aug 25, 2009
i quite enjoyed that movie. infact i might see it again.

i suppose if you set out with the notion that the producer is anti-nigerian, then you will find several parts of the movie to support your theory.

but if you just take the movie at face value, it's quite good. chilax ppl.

the director was making the movie for an international audience so he had to use themes foreigners would be familiar with. Nigerians are regarded in the west as the most notorious african group.

immigrants are usually the more crass under-world operators in any country. you see my point in the writers decision to make those characters nigerian. and the names and all. how many times have you seen a russian gangster named vladimir in a movie? why? cus vladimir is immediately thought of as a russian name.

seriously its just a movie. a sci-fi one at that. besides, it doesn't portray the south africans any better.

Girl you are 18. Trust me, you have no idea what your ideal man is. Here's a solid piece of advice; at 18, your emotions get the better of you (i know you've heard this all before bla bla) but really, the chances of you regretting a decision you make at 18 are very high. Even when you are making a decision you think is fairly straightforward.

Now if you are making a controversial decision at 18, i can assure you, you will come to regret it.

and the only thing you should be thinking about is you. How much he says he loves you doesn't mean jack. Girls are warned about this from childhoood but still make the same mistakes even as adults. Take this from a guy, who's been 18 before; Don't believe anything he says about love.

Gbawe, 90% of the stuff you are writing is false. but i feel like trying to correct you is a lost cause because you seem to be on some kind of mission.

Listen, you have taken great pains to try to argue that Ghana herself needs more power so it can't possibly be exporting power to anyone else. my guy, power generation and getting the power to every single home that needs it are two different challenges. but that is even beside the point.

my question to you is, does Nigeria not export fruits and other foods? Is everybody in nigeria fully fed? a better analogy will be the crude oil situation in nigeria. do you not export crude? do you not have fuel shortages? think about that.
FamilyRe: Why Husbands Always Expect All Compromises From Wife by shesi(m): 5:22am On Aug 08, 2009
I'm with you Akigbemaru

some women, infact, most women, just love love love to play the victim when it comes to domestic problems.

all of you busy here calling the husband an idiot, have you heard what he has to say? the OP could very well be playing things up. If he hit her in any way, then that's wrong. obviously. but i dont believe that for one minute. it's sounds to me she's angry and just adding things up to make the cast herself as the victim and make the guy look bad.

look its only women who get married and think their marriage life is their everything and all else comes second. Us men dont think like that. This guy probably goes to visit his mum every weekend and that is what she is complaining about o?

in my experience 90% of the stories women have to tell about their mother in laws are lies. from the stories my mother used to tell about my father's mother to the stories i hear women telling today. they are all rubbish.

my cousin's wife was complaining because his mom calls him every week to find out how he is. the wife said that's too much and that it is intefering. when she told me and i said i dont see any big deal, i'm sure she will be telling her friends how her husband's family are ganging up against her to make her marriage a living hell.

it is after you get married that she will start handing you magazines with stuff like 'how to improve ur performance' in it *hint hint*
notice none of the women have said anything about courtship yet? cus they know themselves.

@OP, divorce her. for what better or for worse. abeg. the bible is not meant to be taken literally. so if you wife is a serial killer, you continue being married because the bible doesn't mention that as a ground for divorce? puleese

i saw you mentioning on another thread that Globacom is taking 3G to Ghana.

Where do you get these statements from? GT, now Vodaphone, already did that. Who told you Globacom is even a player in the Ghanaian market? I never heard of Globacom the last time i was in Ghana so i dont know what you're talking about.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria: Ghana Plans To Be Major Electricity Exporter To Nigeria, Others by shesi(m): 11:02am On Aug 06, 2009
The poster you responded to is wrong in arrogantly stating that "The idea of buying electricity from Ghana repulses me to the core of my being." but you are also wrong in thinking that this report is anything other than mischief-making from Ghanaians who are intent on humiliating Nigeria at a time it is low .

Will the USA ask for electricity from Guatemala ? I know a bit about the dynamics of energy generation and I can tell you that Ghana supplying Nigeria with electricity would be low on the scale of Generational sources that can come on board rapidly in ameliorating Nigeria's problems.

Do you know the number of IPP's (Independent power projects) in Nigeria the federal Government , because of ineptitude, vested interest and corruption , is letting lie fallow even as the contributions of these IPPs would be considerably substantial?

The power generation situation in Nigeria is complex but I can tell you that , should the sector be deregulated so that every state can generate and distribute its own power , Nigeria can go on to generate enough of its own electricity plus sell surplus to others if Federal Government interference is removed entirely with full deregulation.

Africa yabbed us because we deregulated the telecom sector late. The word back then was that others , including Ghana, will "teach us how to do it". After deregulation it is Nigeria that grew far exponentially greater than every telecom market (including South Africa) in Africa to become one of the fastest growing telecom market in the World.

Even after 'getting to the party late' a Nigerian (Mike Adenuga) has become so good at "teaching" telecom services to Africa to the extent that his company (Globacom) is the fastest growing in Africa , with presence in a few African nations , challenging long established entities like South African owned MTN !!!! Is that not a great achievement in a short period of time in testimony to how Nigerians can be ultra innovative if the meddlesome hands of the FG is removed from important issues?

Let us chill with the wild speculations bordered on mischief. If the political will is present , Nigeria will generate enough electricity for its own use and perhaps for others also.
Listen my guy, you are screaming from your own dream. wake up. it's all in your head. what part of what the minister or whoever is alleged to have said indicates any intention to rub it in??

do you see this report on any ghanaian website? i can tell you the answer is NO. is it a ghanaian that wrote this thread? is it a ghanaian that put it on the frontpage of nairaland? so how do you accuse us of trying to kick nigeria when it's down?

ghana wants to export elecricity. to nigeria and OTHERS. did you miss the part about "and OTHERS"huh we already export power to CIV, Togo, and Burkina. What is wrong with making plans to generate more income from selling more power? Doesn't nigeria export Fruits and other foods? Is everybody in nigeria fully fed?

And you mention deregualation. Isn't thatwhat the minister is quoted as trying to say in the first place? Did you not read the part where he said Nigeria's power problems will be over if the industry is deregulated? Does that sound like someone trying to rub it in? btw, ghana's power industry is not deregulated. just fyi.

Take a chill pill. Nobody in Ghana wakes up thinking, how can we humiliate the nigerians today.

and anyway, i notice you never pass a chance to belittle Ghana. You mentioned a US and guatemala analogy. So nigeria is the US and Ghana the guatemala abi? and you are accusing someone of being petty.
FoodRe: Do You Drink Water While Eating? by shesi(m): 9:05pm On Aug 05, 2009
the argument is that drinking water whiles eating dilutes the HCL in your stomach and leaves you more susceptible to harmful pathogens in the food. that's why it's better to drink juices, or even alcohol, anything that is also acidic.

personally i dont like to drink anything at all while i'm eating. if i'm in public i take little little sips but no actually drink.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria: Ghana Plans To Be Major Electricity Exporter To Nigeria, Others by shesi(m): 8:49pm On Aug 05, 2009
The idea of buying electricity from Ghana repulses me to the core of my being. what is going on? Have our so called leaders forgotten the lessons history. generation 10,000 mega watts of electricity through nucear technology is not a crime when the right people are involved. United States contractors can have it up and running in no time at all because of their transparency. Nigeria leaders are very eloquent in their stupidity and can hardly wipe their ASS or find their ASS-HOLE without foreign help. It is a pity that Nigeria is even considering buying elctricity from Ghana a country so poor not too long ago that her people have to come to Nigeria to survive. ALL HAIL NIGERIA SHAMELESS LEADERS. By the way, I am an Electrical Engineer here in the United States and I believe a lot of my fellow Nigeria born U.S Engineers feel the same way.
and therein lies the problem. IF you are too proud to ask for directions, you get lost all the time.

Even America is not proud to ask China for help when they are going through financial crisis. You are here talking about past. Long before Ghanaians were asked to leave Nigeria, Nigerians were sent packing from Ghana en mass by the Busia government in the 60s. I thought we were over all that nonsense. Times change. constantly.

If you drive looking back, you will constantly get into accidents. Look forward my friends, look forward.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria: Ghana Plans To Be Major Electricity Exporter To Nigeria, Others by shesi(m): 8:40pm On Aug 05, 2009
**shakes head in dissapointment**

why do our nigerian brothers hate us soo much. Even when we're trying to help, they are hating on us. Instead of asking how far we are with the plans, see most of you saying 'how the hell are they going to do that' err, same way we supply power to Cote D'ivoire, Burkina, and Togo perhaps?

Frist of all, Ghana has the capactiy to generate more than 2000MW fyi. Infact, we currently generate around 5000MW but can only keep around around 2500 for ouselves because of contractual arragements with CIV, Burkina, and Togo to supply some power to them. Keep in mind that peak power demand is never 1300. that's ridiculous. There are places in Ghana without adequate power supply. So why would we stop seeking extra power? Besides, ours is an economy on the rise and we foresee an increase in power demand in the future.

That is why we are building a new hydro-electric dam. almost finished. And that is why we signed to the West African gas pipeline project. Eventhough your new government has suddenly decided to play dodgeball and not honor a contract signed by your previous government. But thank God we've found our own gas.

The Nuclear power plant was originally a nigerian government idea. It was the Obsanjo government who lobbied the americans for help to start a nuclear plant to address nigeria's power problems. The Americans refused, saying that they were not prepared to allow a nuclear project on nigerian soil even for civilian purposes. They said the power(political) structure in nigeria was volatile.

Obasanjo then sought to convince Kufuor to allow him (obasanjo) to build a nuclear plant in ghana for nigeria, because the americans were OK with that. Kufuor said he wasn't prepared to allow a nuclear facility belonging to another country on ghanaian soil so Obasanjo should rather give him the money as a loan to build the facility for Ghana and that since ghana would not need all that power, the rest than be sent to nigeria. This is how the whole thing started. Obasanjo left power not too long after. I don't know how far they are because Kufuor also left power and out went my source of info too.

I would have thought the nigerian response would be "when can you have it ready for us", instead see what i'm reading. Ok, if we are able to finish building the nuclear power plant and you don't want it, no problem. i'm sure Cote D'ivoire wouldn't mind the extra power.

Mind you, neither country has the know-how or technology to embark on the mission solo without any western help. And neither country would be willing to go against the US anyway.

@theviper

am the one twisting facts? funny you should say that because in the same sentence, you go on to say half of the ghana population was living in nigeria? lol, ya, i'm the one twisting facts. Do you know what the population of ghana is?

and btw, i remember very clearly that thread you are talking about. who says i ran away? i didn't even know that guy responded. I remember clearly what i said on there about that guy, i forget his name now, and i stand by it. He was calling ghanaian names funny on some thread about nigerian banks in ghana.

@Martass

you know why you don't know anything ghana did in any of those countries? Because you are not Ghanaian. Guess what, nobody outside of nigerians knows anything about what you nigeria supposedly did in those countries.

If i tell you that Ghana's first president sponsored the budget of Guinea for their first few years after their independence, do you know about that? What of Nigeria itself. Ask your fathers where their independence movement was headquartered. who bankrolled them. Nkrumah bankrolled, either completely or significantly, every single african independence movement between 1958-1962.

and what's that you were saying of benin empire? lol, dont make me laugh. maybe you should take the time to read some history before you further contribute to this thread lil boy.

my question to you is this. is there any circumstance under which sperm will survive in a solution other than semen?

if your answer is yes, which is the correct answer btw, then my follow up question would be do you know the nature of the solution in the swimming pool in which the girl was?

my point is you can't categorically rule the scenario out as impossible especially when we know so little details. or do you know something more about the case?

i believe the guy's reference to the guiness book of records was to make the point that stranger things with far lesser odds have happened.
