This definitely does not apply to NEM. We discussed it when NEM was about 60k, today it is about N3. This is a 400% increase. Naira has not depreciated 400%! How many stocks in those climes have done 5 baggers?
#GladIHeld That is true. But very rarely will u have 100% of your portfolio in NEM back In those days. Whereas you can easily move 100% of your money to $$. On a portfolio to portfolio comparison, the person that bought $$ may be better off. MAY BE. |

So I asked Pa Emma this same question some months ago (tho different stock) and these were the questionsss I got for my question. Till today I never fit reply.
Why did you buy Zenith and DC ? What were the factors responsible for the purchase? Why do you want to sell? Why do you want to buy HF ?
My sister if you haven't been able to reply then I'm not sure the stock market is for you. If you bought Dangote Cement in the past 6 months I can assure you nothing has changed about the company in this period. Is it your technical analysis that led you to sell? To all in the house, There must be a reason why you buy a stock if not it's gambling you are doing. You may as well register and play bet9ja. |

yok: MSCI MOVEMENT IN PORTFLIO FOR 6 JUNE 2018/GENERAL MARKET COMMENT
The market is coming alive little by little. The fund have started buying. This is a good relieve for the market. In the light of the recent bear market, there is need to be more nimble in the market. We observed that the market can fall faster than when it is rising.
Now I will stick to watching when the MSCI Net Asset Value (NAV) loses up to 5% on weekly basis, I will slow down and when the losses is 10% on monthly basis, I will exit the market as fast as possible.
Looking at what the fund is buying now, I am not a fan of most of them especially when I am practicing some “rogue trader” tactics to quickly collect some dividends that others have worked or did they suffer for it!!! Sorry I will not tell the name of any now we have named them in the past, the prices have fallen such that further price fall after my dividend collection is very minimal.
Using the fund’s portfolio as a guide, “green” mean buying while “red” is selling. Caution: This is for information purpose only. Data used are assumed to be correct. However, you may want to verify the data from an appropriate source.
I think I an starting to understand their strategy. It's called portfolio insurance. Was big in the 1980s and 90s. You sell stocks when they go down and buy when they go up. Ignoring commission fees you can be spared a terrible bear and you can catch a huge bull. You need to have heavy pockets to do this sha |

You may no see or understand what am seeing and saying for now but later you will. But fact still remain that foreign investors are taking their gain. Converting 100 billion in dollar now, at current primary and secondly market will be more valuable when converting back to naira later to buy again when naira strengthen, and it will buy more units of share later when naira strengthen to #190 per a dollar.
Or are you one of the agent of foreign investors Sorry Chibu that's not correct. A stronger Naira pays the foreign investors as they can buy more $$. Don't expect a stronger Naira though |

"When you are 30 to 40 years old, if you want to do something yourself, just do it. You still can afford to lose, to fail," he added.
Soon thereafter, though, Ma recommended that people start prioritizing stability, family and the future generations.

"When you are 50 to 60 years old, spend time training and developing young people, the next generation," Ma added.

Naira will NOT strengthen. Not with the planned increase in minimum wage. CBN will struggle to even maintain at current levels considering election spending.

PharmAlfred: Crude oil now above $77. NSE answer the clarion call na. Temper expectations with this. Even crude at $100 doesnt guarantee a bull. Subsidy payments are on the rise. Plus if FPIs sense a strengthened Naira, you may not see further inflows just yet. |

Oh dear! I hope you know what happens when there are arbitrage opportunities.
Firstly the impact of Nigeria on USD is near ZERO. No way what Nigeria does will affect the value of the USD.

I do sincerely value your reservations amidst the concoctions of adrenalin sprays whenever Mr Market loses its eternally weak morrings. Patience and discipline are some of the values that if one, through any combination of human weaknesses, auctions to Mr Market (otherwise referred to as Mr. Time), leaves him slaving endlessly for brokers..... To abandon reason for hype is a virus in our market minds. Time is somehow limitless, but our profit targets unfortunately must be made within reasonable time boundaries since we live on borrowed time. We must feed from our sweat while our teeth are still strong to grind bones and take out bone marrow... Why feed on hope while others feed on your shifting futuristic optimism ?

yok: MSCI ADDITION FOR 18 APRIL 2018/GENERAL MARKET COMMENT
The MSCI index is endorsing this market by investing new round of money. With this positive movement in the fund holdings, we should see the developing up trend gaining more ground.
This development can be liken to the Army taking over a formerly occupied territory which belongs to rebels. Current takeover is led by among others by:
Brigadier- Oando (he has assured us of safety of the market)- To deliver at least 30% return this week. And with the bullish sentiment likely to continue next week with the recovery of some pipelines contracts !!!! Sergeant Skye Corporal: Jaiz
Further report on this operation will continue.
Please I am enjoying this forum, everybody is contributing their quota. For this week my heartily appreciation goes to out Locomotive – Locodemy, the man is open minded and cannot hide things from others. Due to this forum, I have not read news from other websites for quite some time now. I read some few useful comments/information and then sit down with charts to decipher what the market will do and bet me, I am happier for it. Hi my man, Locodemy, if they annoy you in this again in this forum, just let me know where you are going and we go there to try and bring the Brigadier Oando, Sergeant Skye, Corporal – Jaiz and the wounded but recuperating Honeywell (let us hope this get well soon as we await the result of the final test for 2017, recovery has been slow but the test result is likely to come at a good time to meet the current takeover of the enemy bear territory). On a last note, Br. Loco, hold on to Japaul, there is a “Capo” on the board that knows how to get all these foreign investors, after Milost another foreign investor will likely come. Also the 2 sectors that the company is focusing on: Mining and Oil are quite attractive, with so many loans and grants flowing to Nigeria this days, Japaul can still likely attract more funds (this write up is unlike me, I will forward a mail to you and whoever is interested, but know that I don’t reply all mails, since the information is free I can control what I disclose) for the full gist, this is insider information.
Caution: This is for information purpose only. Data used are assumed to be correct. However, you may want to verify the data from an appropriate source.
So they are buying what they sold off weeks ago. And these fund managers are paid how much again? |
