Also, thank you very much for addressing me as Umu-Yoruba the oil soup and ewedu eater. You can even spit on me in your very civilized traditional way. I totally embrace all that with full pride of an African son.

It is up to you to quit the pretense and hypocrisy. Victim mentality and emotional blackmail is now stale. You don't have no man's land in Igboland and we don't have no man's land in Yorubaland, what is the issue? grin

PoliticsRe: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by Shikena(m): 11:13am On Aug 11, 2024
Abuja is FCT. That is no man's land carved out and acquired by indigenous Nigerian government for Nigerians in 1976. Lagos, adopted by colonialists as capital ceased to be federal capital in 1993, 31 years ago!

You can claim private ownership of property anywhere, even in South Africa, and I can also do so in Aguleri, but that's as far as it goes. Face reality, and if you are not ready for that you can try and become Lagos Governor grin

grin South Africa also has inclusive constitution for people living there legally.

My dear Igboman, the concepts of ethnic identity and awareness are fundamental to understanding yourself and one's place in the world. They are not, in themselves, uncivilized.
The notion of "civilized" that you hide behind is complex and subjective. It has been used throughout history to justify oppression and discrimination against groups deemed "uncivilized." This is a harmful and inaccurate way of viewing the world. It is often used by people with specific agenda.

Ethnic identity and awareness are positive forces for connection, community, and cultural enrichment. Yes, just as you can use a knife to prepare food and also to harm other people, they can also be sources of conflict and misunderstanding. The key is how these identities and awarenesses are expressed and understood.

When ethnic identity and awareness are used to promote inclusivity, respect, and understanding, they are positive forces. When they are used to promote violence, they are harmful.

A multi-ethnic society comes with huge challenges. We can embrace each other, support each other, grow together but you cannot force feed me with what you can never accept. You know your ethnicity's land. Simple.

irisher:
This reasoning just spewed out from a self acclaimed civilised dude! As long as One Nigeria is concerned, every citizen of Nigeria has a right to claim any place S/he domiciled.

If you don't like that Constitution, you can as well request for disintegration of Nigeria.

grin grin grin

Says the chief tribalist. Smell the coffee dude, emotional blackmail won't work anymore. There is no no man's land in Africa. The game is over. Ethnic awareness will continue to grow, keep focusing on your land and don't pretend you don't have your land. This thread promotes that and I love it. Stop being a hypocrite. You are a tribalist, embrace it, you fool no one but yourself. When you go outside your land, do your business freely, own your personal lands, and respect the owners of the land where you settle, this is not USA. No civilization will change that.

Don't confuse the right to buy your own land in Kano, Ile-Ife or Enugu with no man's land in Africa. You are dead wrong.

Shikena! cool

irisher:
You're speaking from both sides of your mouth, hence trying to deviate from the main point, is South Africa also part of One Nigeria?
The case of South Africa is clearly xenophobic.

The problem we have in Nigeria is tribalism, of which you know the Igbos are accommodating in nature that they don't have any utter of tribalism in their blood.
In reality, every Nigerian has a right to own a property in any part of the country.
So we've the right to claim any place in Nigeria.

Free yourself from hatred and tribalism, at the other hand, we still call our brothers attention to industrialise our regions.

Ignoramus, this clearly shows you never been to Lagos International Trade Fair or never stepped foot to Lagos, hence I don't have to quote your ignorance.
No any Lagos residence can deny the fact that Nd'Igbo controls 90 percent of major markets in Lagos.

Go and verify.

Misinformation all through.

irisher:
Anybody can easily twist history just to disregard Ndi Igbo their priorities, when it comes to business in Africa as a whole leave it for Nd'Igbo.

Ndi Igbo brought the idea of "Lagos International Trade Fair" that's situated along Badagary expressway, Amuwo Odofin. And it was being leased by Federal government of Nigeria to Ndi Igbo for 100 years.

The market is being managed and owned by Nd'Igbo including Igbo task force and president till date.
Never heard of any O'dua's Investment activity in Trade fair. Yes, Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Industry will be part of the agreement but the brain behind that Market is Nd'Igbo.

The largest international market being built in Port-Novo, Republic of Benin, is owned by businessmen from Abia and Anambra, does it mean the the government of the Republic of Benin should not be part of the deal ?

TravelRe: My observations about some of our japa brethren in North America by Shikena(m):
Do you live abroad or you just visited for 2 months? grin

Yes, people hustle hard abroad. It is a choice. I know guys with very good pay who still hustle for extra hours after work. My uncle targets extra $40 daily and that's dedicated to his bills. That frees up his regular income for other commitments including his yearly vacations to Nigeria and his annual ship cruises in the carribeans.

For others, it's survival battle and they hustle all day. They need reliable all-purpose vehicles that won't give them problem. No time to waste.

Focus on your own life and challenges, people will always do what works for them.

Sapasenator:
About three years ago. It was a bitter winter and I was dining at a restaurant around 11 pm in the night. It was very cold and if I remember correctly, it was -35 degrees Celsius below freezing point and if you pee outside, it freezes before hitting the ground. cold.

The restaurant was filled with everyone white except myself. I looked behind me and it was crowded with delivery drivers working for the delivery app, Skip the Dishes, waiting to pick up food orders. Nine delivery drivers and all black guys mostly Nigerian looking.

Imagine what it means to have to drive constantly in the bitter cold to deliver food when most people are either sleeping or enjoying themselves in a warm restaurant.

Some of these guys are even delivering with brand new SUVs purchased on credits and after a deeper dive, I came to realize our people here live mostly above their means to impress fellow Nigerians. They buy houses or cars they cannot afford and now have to work three jobs and drive on the side to maintain their fake lifestyles.

This is not a healthy way to live guys, learn to relax and enjoy yourself once in a while, do not live above your means and the fact that you are pre-authorized for that big mortgage, loan, or line of credit does not mean you have to accept.

Learn to live your life without trying to please or impress anyone and occasionally, take time off to have fun and enjoy yourself, take vacations.

PoliticsRe: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by Shikena(m):
Lagos International Trade Fair was initiated by and organized by Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Industry and started in 1977. It was never an initiative of Ndigbo. That was the heydays of the acclaimed O'dua Investment, with several manufacturing subsidiaries across the SW.

O'dua Investment came out of Western Nigeria Development Corporation WNDC (established in the 1950s) and Western States Industrial Investment and Credit Corporation IICC.

However, Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Industry had and still has active Igbo members, including the current DG, and they all work together for progress.

irisher:
FYI, Lagos still buy market from Onitsha & clothings from Aba to sale in Lagos. Onitsha goods tends to be quiet more cheaper compared to Lagos.
The greatest mistake Nd'Igbo did in Lagos was building "Lagos International Trade Fair" I overheard that Ndi Igbo brought the idea and developed the place. But we can still bounce back, there's a saying in Igboland which translate to "Okoro adighi akari onye koro ya" there's a plan to move Ladipo & ASPMDA market to Umueri International market, Alaba market and Ikeja to Oraifite etc..
It's Ndi Igbo that brought the ideas of these markets and the same Nd'Igbo will definitely determine where it will stay next.

We can make our regions more viable, Anambra state has more indigenous clusters of industries than Lagos, Onitsha harbour industrial layout is the largest industrial estates in Nigeria.
There are so many industries in Anambra State, I know many Anambra products that are being sold in Lagos, but the problem here is Nigeria export strategy is poor which is caused by selfish government because you've to bring your goods to Apapa Lagos for exportation.
We still have to invest more on our land.

Yes, Igbos and Fulanis share lots of similarities in terms of how they relate with other people.

Nigeria is a victim of their battle, look very closely. Nigeria is just a victim of a clash of two vicious agenda.

The constitution allows you to roam over the entire soverignty but it doesn't give you free pass to lay claim to other people's lands or put your mouths into their affairs.

Isn't it ironic that this same Zikist misinterpretation of One Nigeria is what the Fulani also sees as reason to invade everywhere and claim as grazing reserve ?

I am an example! I was an ignorant liberal for a very long time. I agitated passionately to have state of origin removed, I defended the need to erode ethnic identity. Today, after touching 4 different continents, I know better and I strongly embrace my root, my identity, and will defend it with my all. Strong ethnic roots are the pillars of a strong nation. All we need is for each proud African identity to teach mutual respect, common goal and diversity. Never ever lose your identity in the name of civilization.

MossadAgent:
In the core northern parts of Nigeria, legislative discussions are carried out in either Hausa or Arabic language with details of plenary gazzeted in Arabic, Hausa and English .

Most official state correspondents to the public are made in Hausa or Arabic via print , radio or television broadcasts. It's not unusual for the governor to make public presentations 99% of the time in Hausa language.

At no time have these cretins complaining on this thread saw it fit to drag northern states over this but it is SW and Lagos state in particular that they have their microscopes on. You will be forgiven to think they even come from the SW.

It's truly a shame to witness all this and I only have the Yorubas to blame for this.

Nothing wrong with being accommodating but that foolishness known as liberalism among the youth of today is what is fueling the madness of these cretins.

But as they say, most liberals in their youth eventually grow up out of it and become the polar opposite.

In due time, these "I am Yoruba but" crowd will grow up to be the most conservative and opposite versions of their youth.

The pendulum always swing to its extreme.

Thank you. Let the mumu Naija youths who think they know it all but actually know nothing beyond the level of BBN keep thinking with their emotions instead of their brain. They will soon understand. My fervent wish is for a military coup but it won't happen due to the move to Aso Rock several years ago by Babangida & the restructuring of the military command by Obasanjo. These largely shallow Nigerian youths need a dose of military rule to set them straight. They missed out on some critical lessons about living within the context of a nation, I would love to see them under military rule for just 2 years grin .
