I won't sympathize with her either, she has played her part in bringing her husbands shadow back to the country (

either he's dead or alive on the sick bed far away), to cool off the tension in the country, since no one could say

boldly Yaradua has been seen since the said arrival. Then she should bear all the consequences.

She should take a vacation to see her daughter's new baby, that will atleast bring her some happiness,

Nairaland GeneralEvery State In Nigeria Should Manage Their Resources by shotuns(op): 2:34am On Mar 06, 2010
If every state in Nigeria could be able to manage and utilize their resources (Biological, Natural, Human,Water), see

to their own regional and enviromental management system, invite people of like minds to give ideas on how well

to sustain these resources , I am very sure a rapid development is guaranteed with a thorough and effective

supervision by the special bodies assigned by the Federal Government to oversee every activity. However since the

resources are not equally distributed , the individual state must pay thier annual taxes based on the amount of

available resources.

This is how many countries of the world attained a greater development within a short time,

God bless Nigeria!.

I pray this works, it's a good idea.

But Nigeria should learn from other fast developing and the developed nations, Nigeria should be proactive this time around, seek advise from people who have relevant knowlegde about on how to make this project work and be sincere.

The world is advancing drastically beyond comprehension, The resourses we depend upon today will one day may not be relevant again in the world stage, so we need to wake up and do something meaningful for this country, For instance , Nations advancing from 'OIL' to clean energy resources, solar energy, , we have all these in abundance but no proper relevant knowledge, resources, skill ,supervision ,insurance and maintainance to make it work,

It is well , (Amen)

PoliticsRe: Military Coup In Nigeria [[Attempted Rumor]] by shotuns: 5:22am On Feb 26, 2010
I believe we all know what democracy stands for, Freedom of speech and expression in as much as it doesn't affect others,  We all long for information , awareness of what is going on and what may happen tomtomorrow_ There have been indications that a coup might take place before Yar'adua came back and now that he is back according to report "(though no one could actually say he's still alive or not since no physical picture of him was seen since he came back_
From the Sahara reporters,  Please read.

Sahara reporters has learned that a bloody coup d'etat in is progress in the Republic of Niger where the president, Mamadou Tanja, extended his tenure in office last year into a third term, in defiance of public opinion. In the past hour, reports out of Niamey indicate Tanja may have fallen into the hands of dissidents.
Predictably, the coup d'etat information is creating panic in Nigeria where a crisis resulting from the refusal to abide by the Constitution Nigeria's sickly leader, Umaru Yar'Adua. Now out of the country on a "medical emergency" for nearly three months, Yar'Adua's conduct has created a full blown political crisis instigated by his loyalists, a group led by his ambitious and greedy wife, Hajia Turai Yar'Adua.

Goodluck Jonathan, the Vice President to Yar'adua, who was made "Acting President" by a resolution of the National Assembly last week, remains under threat from "insurgents" loyal to Yar'Adua. Jonathan is currently meeting with the outgoing ECOWAS Secretary Ibn Chambas, to work out appropriate response to the Nigerian coup d'etat.

As Sahara reporters has consistently reported, the diehard cronies of Yar'Adua have already put in place military officers to strike as soon as the circumstances become viable for a military take-over.

According to military intelligence in Nigeria, the groups have tried to strike twice, first on December 31st 2009, and on January 15, 2010, but for the advice they kept getting that the Nigerian people are not going to be receptive a coup d'etat and also that a coup will inevitably lead to the break-up of Nigeria. The group has reportedly continued its search for an army general from the Niger Delta region to be the face of the putsch

Yesterday, the Federal Executive Council set a up delegation to visit Yar'Adua in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to ascertain his state of health, but reports this morning indicate that the team may have fallen apart as one of the delegates, Rilwan Lukman, Yar'Adua's Minister of Petroleum Resources, has pulled out of the delegation after receiving threats from unnamed Yar'Adua associates. The team is billed to leave Nigeria for Saudi Arabia tomorrow.

The situation in Niger is of significant interest in Nigeria because it is both a geographical and a political neighbour. In 2006, Nigeria's present Olusegun Obasanjo tried assorted manoeuvres to try to obtain a third term in office. Many Nigerians blame him for the crisis in Nigeria saying he foisted Yar'Adua, who is viewed as "damaged goods" on the country to punish the people for objecting to his political ambitions.

On account of the involvement of the military in governance, Niger and Guinea are currently suspended from the Economic Council of West Africa States (ECOWAS), the leadership of which Goodluck Jonathan assumed a few days ago.
PoliticsRe: Yar’adua: Saudi Authorities Deny Ministers Landing Clearance by shotuns: 3:02am On Feb 24, 2010
THE LATEST NEWS says Yar'adua is back.
Please read.

ABUJA (Reuters) – Nigerian President Umaru Yar'Adua arrived back in the capital Abuja on Wednesday after more than three months in a Saudi Arabian hospital undergoing treatment for a heart condition, government sources said.

There was no immediate word on the condition of the 58-year-old leader, whose absence brought Africa's most populous nation to the brink of constitutional crisis and threatened to paralyze the business of government, until Vice President Goodluck Jonathan was sworn in as acting leader two weeks ago.

Two planes arrived at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe international airport in Abuja, one of them met by an ambulance which left under a heavy police escort shortly afterwards, a Reuters witness said.

Soldiers lined the main road from the airport to the city, a standard maneuver when the president is traveling.

"He just landed at Abuja airport on a Saudi plane escorted by the presidential plane. He is on his way to the (presidential) villa now," one government source said.

Nigerian government and presidency officials could not immediately be reached for comment.

Yar'Adua has been receiving treatment for pericarditis, an inflammation of the membrane surrounding the heart that can restrict normal beating, and is also known to suffer from a chronic kidney condition.

The political implications of his return from Saudi Arabia will depend on the state of his health.

Jonathan could continue as acting president until such time as Yar'Adua's health recovers and he is fit enough to resume office. Should his condition be so serious as to render him incapable of holding office, he could step aside, allowing Jonathan to be sworn in as leader and name a new deputy.

Either way, new elections are due in Nigeria by April next year and few expect Yar'Adua to stand for a second term.

Neither the presidency, the ruling party nor the cabinet has given any details on his health since shortly after he left, fuelling speculation about the gravity of his condition.

A delegation of Nigerian ministers travelled to Saudi Arabia on Monday for an update on his health and had been expected to report back to a weekly cabinet meeting on Wednesday.

An official at Jeddah airport told Reuters two planes had left Saudi Arabia late on Tuesday, one carrying the president and the other carrying a delegation of Nigerian officials.

TravelRe: 8 Days To Leave China Or Face Jail Term ! by shotuns: 3:10pm On Feb 21, 2010
Nigeria is sick, until She is been cure of her illness , then you can expect her citizen who got stucked outside to be very glad to turn back , Traveling is by choice and purpose but when you have no purpose, no objective for traveling then you turn out to be a thorn in the flesh, But who would in the first place think of searching for greener pasture if 'HOME' is a better place to live.
However , I will strongly advice based on my personal experience in China that any Nigerian going to China with no purpose should please stay back , too much is going on in China concerning Nigeria as a sensitive country , The name is mud already, The good guys and those that are still valid are struggling now to reshape the name of the country. China is struggling to become the world power and will use every means even if necessary to invade Africa with every power, manipulation, deceit it possesses, even to jail or get rid of any hindrances on its way either humans or non humans . It is now left for us to put on our thinking cap.

Warning to the Nigerian Government BEFORE signing any deal particularly on the issue of 'OIL'with this energy hungry nation to be very careful , and try to go into bilateral agreement on restriction on visa issues, extension of visas for Nigerians with purpose, trade. China is an authoritarian nation even it's citizen has no say, no freedom of speech, how come we NIGERIAN could say anything on their land, Many Nigerian have lost their lives for one crime or the other,Many in jail presently for overstaying their visas, But 'NATION TO NATION' that benefits from each others could do something from the top. 'Nigeria' should wake up from HER slumber , We are a Nation with great respect every where in the world, gifted in all areas of man endeavours, I am glad to be a NIGERIAN.

Music/RadioNigeria Uses Celebrity Power To Stem Cybercrime by shotuns(op): 11:19am On Feb 11, 2010
Fellow Nigerians , have you read this? , How true is this ooh?

Microsoft and Nigeria have released a song and video as part of a campaign to dissuade people from getting involved in cybercrime.

The song, "Maga need no pay", is part of Microsoft's Internet Safety Security and Privacy Initiative for Nigeria. "Maga" means victim. The song also references "yahoo-yahoo," a slang term for so-called advance free fraud (AFF) scams.

AFF scams can involve letters or e-mail sent to either random or targeted victims. The scam invariably involved tricking the victim into sending money on the belief they will receive a greater sum later.

AFFs are also referred to as 419 scams, named after the part of the Nigerian criminal code that deals with fraud, due to the prevalence of the scams that originate in the country.

Nigeria's Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has increased its efforts to try stop the scams, but perpetrators are numerous and highly organized. Members of Microsoft's Digital Crimes Unit are meeting this week in Abuja, Nigeria, with the EFCC to discuss ways to fight the scams in west Africa.

"419 scams have taken root in Nigeria's popular culture," wrote Tim Cranton, associate general counsel for Microsoft on a company blog. "Scammers enjoy a rebellious, 'cool' mystique, even producing songs and music videos that celebrate their own audacity."

Microsoft and other large Internet companies have taken a particular interest in AFF scams in recent years. One variation of the fraud involves sending spam e-mail using, for example, Microsoft's logos and informing people that they've won a fictitious lottery held by the company.

The song's lyrics, which are in English, say there's pride in honest work, and that AFFs and other cybercrimes give Nigeria a bad name.

"I don't need no maga -- just work harder," raps Nigerian-American artist Banky W

Nairaland GeneralFormer Nigerian President To Build Hotel In Ethiopia by shotuns(op): 1:09pm On Feb 06, 2010
By Andualem Sisay | Africa News

Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, is to invest in Hotel and tourism sector of Ethiopia and has since secured a 2,000 square meter of land near Bishoftu (Debre Zeit) town of Oromia Region called Ada.

The former Nigerian President has taken the land two months a go and he is now about to implement his investment on the land located 50 Kilometers east of the capital -Addis Ababa, www.newbusinessethiopia.com reported.

Obansanjo’s intention to invest in Bishoftu has come following the footsteps of Djibouti’s president, Ismael Omar Guelleh, who took 10,000 square meters of land last year to build holiday home in Bishoftu and also bought 3,000 square meters of land for agriculture in Bale, Oromia Region of the country.

After Bishoftu town’s administration approved anew master plan last year, many investors are now investing in the town, which is known for its eight unique lakes.

Ethiopia and Nigeria’s relation has been growing especially after 2006. The first Ethiopia-Nigeria Joint Ministerial Commission Meeting was held from April 26 – 29, 2006 in Addis Ababa, where areas of cooperation for the mutual benefits of the two countries were identified.

Following that from 8 to 10 October, 2006 President Olusegun Obasanjo paid a three day state visit to Ethiopia, which enabled him to visit a flower farm in Bishoftu area.

Prime Minister Meles on his part visited Nigeria from 28 – 29 October, 1996 where agreements were signed relating to economic, scientific and technical cooperations.

Both sides expressed their willingness "to develop and expand trade relations and to create favorable conditions for substantial and harmonious diversification of trade between the two countries on the basis of equality and mutual benefits."[/s]

I got this from  this website (http://www.ethiopianreview.com/37638) it was posted last year 2009 December 30th, Where is Nigeria heading,,, Can't this man invest in this country to creat job for people who have none!though it's a good venture investing atleast but not at this time when the country really need to boost internal economy, This is really insane if i am not wrong, I rest my case, God is watching.
CrimeNigerian Gunmen Kidnap Eight-month-old Baby For Ransom by shotuns(op): 2:46am On Feb 06, 2010
LAGOS (AFP) – Gunmen have kidnapped an eight-month-old baby girl for ransom in the Nigerian oil city of Port Harcourt, a police spokeswoman told AFP Friday.

"The gunmen went into the house in Port Harcourt (the state capital) at about 9:30 pm (2030 GMT) on Thursday (and) seized the child ostensibly for a ransom," Rita Abbey, of Rivers State police, said.

"They went to the house to rob. They must have picked up the little girl when they could not get enough from the robbery," she said on telephone.

The police were yet to establish contact with the gunmen after they fled, leaving their phone number in the house, she said. angry sad shocked embarassed cry

It was not clear if the girl's parents were at the house during the attack.

Nigerian gunmen on January 18 freed three British expatriate workers and their Colombian colleague abducted a week earlier week in the country's first major abduction in Niger Delta in six months.

The four -- contract workers for the Anglo-Dutch oil giant Shell -- were abducted in an ambush as they travelled to work from Port Harcourt to the Shell-operated Afam power plant, the police said.

Their police escort was shot dead by the assailants.

That incident was the first in southern Nigeria since July last year, following a lull in the wake of a government amnesty which saw thousands of militants lay down their arms.

Armed groups claiming to seek a fairer share of oil revenue for locals have since 2006 staged attacks on oil installations in the Niger Delta, playing havoc with crude output and international oil prices.

Hundreds of foreign and local oil workers have been kidnapped in the Niger Delta since 2006. Many have been released unharmed, others after ransom payments.

Last year Shell said 133 of its workers and contractors had been kidnapped between 2006 and 2008.

In October, the most sophisticated of the groups, the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), declared an open-ended ceasefire to give dialogue with authorities a chance.

But its called off the truce last Sunday over what it called slow progress made on the implementation of the amnesty programme, due to President Yar'Adua's illness.

Yar'Adua has been hospitalised in Saudi Arabia since November 23 for a heart problem

PoliticsRe: Reps Tackle China Over Killing Of 30 Nigerians by shotuns: 11:13am On Dec 10, 2009
Well,  as we all know, every country has his or her own laws and regulation guiding their country just as we do in Nigeria,  China is a peaceful country if you have no immigration problem, and you didnt go against their law and you didnt challenge the authority.I remember 7 /10 years ago, that was about ( 2000 ) Nigerians in China were like kings , they go about their businesses with no disturbance, then Nigerians economy wasn't as bad as it is today.  But today things have changed totally . The main problem comes from our leaders , no safety, corruption is at the highest level, an average man can't even feed 3 times a day , if our economy is better, no one will think of travelling  out for greener pastures , though I never supported drug tracfficking and i will never , whoever is caught in the act should be dealt with according to the law. Many Nigerians are good guys , some got frustrated into acting otherwise by 1. inability to extend their visas, that is a big problem in China today for Nigerian and if you could get a way to extend you have to pay 10 times what others pay as the normal visa fee,  2.Some Nigerians act on greed inherited from home and that caused a lot of trouble here in China 3.hatred towards Africans  in general , every chinese regards a black man as African man( feiguo ren) feiguo  means land of nothing,so to kill a mn from the land of nothing will attract no attention even before asking you they already concluded, that is the teaching given to every chinese kids by their chinese teachers. 4. No human right in China. once you challenge their authority , you are in for it,  though some respect are given to some countries who can stand up to fight for his citizens.  Many killings here were done in secret , no one will even hear about it. it will never be in  the news, so if you hear anything like that, there is an aorta of truth in the message.  it happens everyday, body parts could be used for medicinal researches. Don't doubt it. if you are not in china you wont know better, if you stay there just 1 day, you can write a page,  Above all lets keep our fingers cross and continue praying for our mother land .May God help us and save us from our greedy leaders
