I just dey laugh Nigeria. They think Asians are a better alternative to white/western people just like how some people think Russia would be better off as world power compared to the west. The chinks are known to be souless and have zero empathy. They are like blacks but with very high IQ. Atleast white people have empathy toward animal and human (that's why their country is being flooded today by immigrants) they feel guilty for what their ancestors did to the world, especially Germany with the holocaust, its called White-Guilt, it's actually a thing but the Chinese? Lol.

Thank you Sir.
I will cancel the application and request for refunds then start new application.

Hello,
In my mother's case I mistakenly put the old passport number. So when I made the payment, the bio metric invitation letter had the old passport but the application itself had the correct passport. My mum did not have any problems at TLS. she went in and made her application. I don't know if this helps you. we did not have to re-apply.

Nah, what I meant was whether you were a first-timer or a repeater. Naturally if you have applied for a UK visa and got it and did not overstay your visa, when you apply again it takes less time to verify your identity and you are not seen as a potential overstayer.

Nonetheless yours took the 15 working days (decision in 3 weeks)... cool cool cool

Okay I get. It is strange though because I know two other non first timers. One got hers in a week and the other is still waiting both submitted 13th July. Also this is the longest it's taken to get a UK visa. The last time took my Mum 3 days, I kid you not but it wasnot TLS. it was the old system where you got an email that said ......Your visa has been issued and approved bla bla.

First-time Application or Renewal?

Standard or Priority?

Not a first time application, but there is nothing like renewal for UK visa. Its always a fresh application everytime. And it was a standard application also.

Morning all,

Clearly I'm impatient! The 15days has passed no email, no change on tls and number not recognized on UKVI.

Is there any other way to check? The U.K. Embassy want you to be gainfully employed or engaged in meaningful business but then they just mess you around! Our proposed travel date will soon pass

Any July ers with positive feedback
Thanks

Application 14th July. Decision 5th August. Hang in there, fingers crossed

I wonder how the VISA office in Sheffield decides on what application to look at. Because lots of people here seemed to have applied in June and even some one in April. Even many have not gotten any email that says application not straightforward. I was very worried about applying for my Mum in mid July considering the delays so I am quite grateful that it only took them to the 5th of August to decide.
Good luck to all the people still waiting on decisions

Update with timelines for my Mum's application.
July 13th -Application submitted/biometrics/transferred to UKVI
July 14th-Application received by UKVI
July 23rd _Application being prepared for consideration
Aug 7 - Application assessed and decision made
Aug 8- Application ready for collection
Aug 8 - Another message to say application sent by courier with DHL tracking and this is where the joke begins. DHL says on tracking that application would be delivered on Monday the 14th, and tracking shows that the passport had left Abuja and wasin PH but my Mum decided to just go to the DHL office since she was less busy and then she was told, the passport arrived on the 9th and they could not find anyone when they came to her address.big fat lie and so they had sent the passport back. Can you believe this clowns? I called to show them the DHL tracking and kinda forgot this is Nigeria. You don't get anything done by asking to speak with the boss lol. Anyway long story short,my Mum had to go down to Enugu to intercept the passport on its way back to PH then Abuja. Thankfully 5 years visa granted.

Thanks Justwise and Ekpotek and any other person who answered my questions when I asked

I am sorry I don't have any advice for you.

I just want to point out your lies. You couldn't have been 10 weeks gone in June and due in November. You were 4 months pregnant in June Sir/Ma.

You are welcome lipsrsealed

If baby is due 30th November(EDD is just EDD), conception happened around 9th March, give or take so ,if interview day was 1st June, pregnancy was 12 weeks, give or take a week. Just saying. Before you start calling someone a liar without any evidence

You know, TLS may start out with realtime information. However as the application progresses they may not provide realtime information. This explains why some applicants sometimes get decision email from TLS and a few hours later same day they get collection email from same TLS.

You are right.

Just an update on my Mum's visa. It is funny how I got a TLS message saying that the passport has been sent back from UK, and same day it's been received by TLSAbuja. Do they use witches to move the documents because those are the only service that fast and efficient. Anyway, TLS has sent a message that it's with the courier and they also included a DHL number for tracking it. Fingers crossed.

You people that keep saying adults cannot be sponsored have forgotten that children living in the UK have sponsored their parents who are retired or were even farmers, traders and are you saying those people are not classed as adults or not being sponsored?
Who fiancé that sponsored fiancées that aren't earning much in Nigeria to visit them in UK ( are those not adults too?)

I also wonder. I have sponsored my mum on 3 occasions including this last one and my whole family in 2014 and they were all given visas. It's not in the sponsoring but in the surrounding circumstances

So basically he is going to visit someone on visiting visa or an overstayer?

You do know that people live in the UK under different non settled visas abi? Tier 1, Tier 2,Tier 4, Tier 5 an dthey are all entitled to having visitors. Not everyone in the UK is a citizen or a settled person.

Dear All,

Please, I need your advice to tick either yes or no as I am filling the application online. I want to visit my family friend in the UK.

Is the main purpose of your trip to visit/stay with a close family relative who is settled in the UK?

Are they British Citizens, or do they have ILR. iF not your answer is NO

The answer can never be NO since this is visiting visa application.

Just saying, the catch is settled in the UK. If your family does not have a British passport or an ILR then the answer is NO.

Hello Mandex11,
I had challenges with these airlines inasmuch as I did thorough research as well as visited the airline desk offices prior to travel day. Although I was 31 weeks plus gone, Arik Air staff told me they would fly me at 32 weeks as I was due to travel few days later. However, Air Peace staff said their policy states 31 weeks but since I didn't have an obvious belly, I should use Port Health for certification before flying.
I should have opted for Arik, but the airline only flies on specific days and so I had to settle for Air Peace. Mehn, armed with my Doctor's report and cleared by the ground Staff, that's how the flight attendant refused me to fly. The flight was delayed for another 30 minutes because of me. The attendant found out it wasn't specified on my Sealed fit to fly, my gestation age.
I brought out my medical records as well as fit to fly I used a month before, but the attendant refused to look at them saying it was expired.
The Pilot even asked him to waive it for me.
I was eventually given a form to fill should anything happen to me, which I did.

Note:
I was informed by the flight attendant that Air Peace flies pregnant women at 33 weeks. Just ensure you/your wife's fit to fly contains ALL vital piece of information(gestation age, that you are fit to fly, etc.)

Stupid folks. i don't understand the rational of not looking at an expired fit to fly. Didthey think the pregnancy expired with that one also. If all they wanted was to see gestational age.

The divorce court judge must be very stupid and incompetent to separate young sibblings and divide them amongst parents as if they are pieces of items. Whatever happened to assigning sole custody to one parent and grant visitation rights to the other?
You are joking right. Thi sis a senseless, stupid, God forsaken country. Who decides to rip a family in 2? Only a stupid court that thinks its fair to give "half" to each of them. All of them should have been with one parent. mother or father, but the parent who can take care of them then grant the other parent visit. or have all of them Live with Mum for example and hokiday and weekends at Dad . BUt hey we are talking about Nigeria here. Anything goes

What is more important is the passport number on the application form. If that is correct you do not have a problem. Go with both current and expire passports for the appointment and explain the mistake. You can also cancel the appointment and create a fresh one. Other gurus can add their opinions.

What a day! so i have managed to open the submitted form and I did indeed put the right passport number in the application, however the appointment letter for some weird reason printed out the expired passport. I hope this is not a problem when she arrives at TLS
Thank You

Hello All,

Ekpotek or Justwise or anyone who has been in this scenario.

So after all said and done I have just paid the application fee on visa4uk site only to see on the printed appointment slip that I have put my Mum's expired passport as opposed to the current one. I am annoyed at myself now but I cannot even open the application to see if that is what I filled inside as they are experiencing heavy traffic.
Do I just cancel this application and ask for a refund or does she just print the application and go with it and try to explain herself. arghhhhhh.

Can anyone advise. Thank You

Does June need to be fully booked for July to open.

Hello All,
Can anyone who has manged to log in to the TLS website list on here the supporting documents required. Since I have not yet been able to apply for a date on the visa4UK website( July is not open yet and I need a july date) I am not able to go n register on TLS website. I would appreciate if any one could list them here. Thank you
Also, one quick question, in the past when I have written an invitation letter for my Mum I was single and lived by myself, so now that I am married does this IV letter have to be written and signed by both I and my Spouse. I dunno if this makes any difference really. Just checking

Thank you

Showstopa, did you try to change the month on the page by clicking the arrow to the right of June 2017? It's on the visa4uk site that you choose an appointment date, what you will do on the TLS site is download and print your payment confirmation, submitted application and document checklist which must be brought to the visa application centre on your appointment date.

dcutey, Yes I did. I feel like maybe the only allow a month to completely be exhausted before the open another month. The date son July were greyed out and I wanted to choose a specific date in July cos my Mum would be in Abuja that period.
Please does anyone have application checklist from TLS so we can make sure we have everything there before she gets there. I appreciate

Thank you

After filling and submitting the online form at vias4UK. The next step is to pay for visa and associated fees online depending on which TLS centre you choose to submit. Each application form have a reference number. Use this reference number after creating an account on the TLS website/centre selected for submission to book appointment. It is on TLS website that you can book appointment to submit your documents and not on visa4UK site. I hope this clarification helps.

It is onus on the applicant to submit the necessary documentation to support their visa application. The home office is not in the habit of waivers or giving any benefit of doubt for absence of documents for visit visas. It's important that applicants do not give the ECO any reason to refusal their application based on lack of document.

Hello Ekpotek,
I have just clicked on submit and I was asked to choose an appointment date on the visa4uk page. the only thing is that the appointment date I want to choose, is in July but this calendar only goes to June end. I wonder what will happen to my application. I suppose I should be able to come back here earaly July and submit it again. Also if we are selecting appointment dates on the visa4uk site , what about the TLS site. what other kind of appoinment are we selecting there? How many appointments can one person have. This used to be easier without any third party interference oh. Thank you
