lmay18: Hello, In my mother's case I mistakenly put the old passport number. So when I made the payment, the bio metric invitation letter had the old passport but the application itself had the correct passport. My mum did not have any problems at TLS. she went in and made her application. I don't know if this helps you. we did not have to re-apply. |

Brightingsus: Okay I get. It is strange though because I know two other non first timers. One got hers in a week and the other is still waiting both submitted 13th July. Also this is the longest it's taken to get a UK visa. The last time took my Mum 3 days, I kid you not but it wasnot TLS. it was the old system where you got an email that said ......Your visa has been issued and approved bla bla. |

Brightingsus: Not a first time application, but there is nothing like renewal for UK visa. Its always a fresh application everytime. And it was a standard application also. |

I wonder how the VISA office in Sheffield decides on what application to look at. Because lots of people here seemed to have applied in June and even some one in April. Even many have not gotten any email that says application not straightforward. I was very worried about applying for my Mum in mid July considering the delays so I am quite grateful that it only took them to the 5th of August to decide. Good luck to all the people still waiting on decisions 1 Like |

Update with timelines for my Mum's application. July 13th -Application submitted/biometrics/transferred to UKVI July 14th-Application received by UKVI July 23rd _Application being prepared for consideration Aug 7 - Application assessed and decision made Aug 8- Application ready for collection Aug 8 - Another message to say application sent by courier with DHL tracking and this is where the joke begins. DHL says on tracking that application would be delivered on Monday the 14th, and tracking shows that the passport had left Abuja and wasin PH but my Mum decided to just go to the DHL office since she was less busy and then she was told, the passport arrived on the 9th and they could not find anyone when they came to her address.big fat lie and so they had sent the passport back. Can you believe this clowns? I called to show them the DHL tracking and kinda forgot this is Nigeria. You don't get anything done by asking to speak with the boss lol. Anyway long story short,my Mum had to go down to Enugu to intercept the passport on its way back to PH then Abuja. Thankfully 5 years visa granted. Thanks Justwise and Ekpotek and any other person who answered my questions when I asked 6 Likes 1 Share |

Just an update on my Mum's visa. It is funny how I got a TLS message saying that the passport has been sent back from UK, and same day it's been received by TLSAbuja. Do they use witches to move the documents because those are the only service that fast and efficient. Anyway, TLS has sent a message that it's with the courier and they also included a DHL number for tracking it. Fingers crossed. |

Hello All, Ekpotek or Justwise or anyone who has been in this scenario. So after all said and done I have just paid the application fee on visa4uk site only to see on the printed appointment slip that I have put my Mum's expired passport as opposed to the current one. I am annoyed at myself now but I cannot even open the application to see if that is what I filled inside as they are experiencing heavy traffic. Do I just cancel this application and ask for a refund or does she just print the application and go with it and try to explain herself. arghhhhhh. Can anyone advise. Thank You 1 Like |

so you summarised gender equality to mean a man who wants to be a woman and a woman who wants to be a man? And sexual promiscuity? Odiegwu. If you don't know anything about gender equality, educate yourself or shut up.Your ignorance is catastrophic 1 Like |

Hello All, Can anyone who has manged to log in to the TLS website list on here the supporting documents required. Since I have not yet been able to apply for a date on the visa4UK website( July is not open yet and I need a july date) I am not able to go n register on TLS website. I would appreciate if any one could list them here. Thank you Also, one quick question, in the past when I have written an invitation letter for my Mum I was single and lived by myself, so now that I am married does this IV letter have to be written and signed by both I and my Spouse. I dunno if this makes any difference really. Just checking Thank you |

dcutey: dcutey, Yes I did. I feel like maybe the only allow a month to completely be exhausted before the open another month. The date son July were greyed out and I wanted to choose a specific date in July cos my Mum would be in Abuja that period. Please does anyone have application checklist from TLS so we can make sure we have everything there before she gets there. I appreciate Thank you |

ekpotek: Hello Ekpotek, I have just clicked on submit and I was asked to choose an appointment date on the visa4uk page. the only thing is that the appointment date I want to choose, is in July but this calendar only goes to June end. I wonder what will happen to my application. I suppose I should be able to come back here earaly July and submit it again. Also if we are selecting appointment dates on the visa4uk site , what about the TLS site. what other kind of appoinment are we selecting there? How many appointments can one person have. This used to be easier without any third party interference oh. Thank you
