Sports / Re: Yaya Toure Is CAF African Footballer Of 2013 by siaindeed: 12:33am On Jan 10, 2014
The Glo Caf Awards(African footballer) actually went to the real deserving player(Yaya Toure).
2012 Uefa Champions league won by Chelsea is not reckoned with because another UEFA Champions leagues had been thereafter that was won by Bayern Munchen. We are talking about 2013 players' performance, people are sentimentally referring to 2012 Champions league.
Chelsea won both Europa league and English FA for 2013, was Mikel's contribution to the two trophies more than that of Hazard, Oscar, Torres, Ramires, Luiz? These guys' performances were not far-fetched while Mikel's performance was secondary.
What of 2013 AFCON in South Africa? Was Mikel's performance more than that of Sunday Mba, Emenike? What of AFCON most valuable player in South Africa? When all these players in Chelsea and Nigeria team mentioned above and Mikel's performances are compared and evaluated, you would know Yaya Toure deserves it more than Mikel's in Caf Awards; he(Yaya) will still win it again next year based on his current form cos there is no African player for now that can compete with him.
However, if Mba and Emenike happened to play in top four clubs in England; top three in Spain; top two in Germany; top two/three in Italy; top two in France, that would have been picked ahead of mikel; but the country, club and division where you play will determine you nominee for this kind Award.
So, if you are real footballer and unbias football analyst, you know the Awards for 2013 Caf actually went to the right man; but if you are neither footballer nor sport analyst, the Awards was to be given to Mikel.

Boko Haram issue! Federal Government is really trying to put an end to this by pumping adequate money needed, but top military authorities are just diverting the money selfishly.
How could warring weapons in the hands of Boko-Haram be more sophisticated than Nigerian military's owns?
I had a privilege to meet with a military guy in my office this week. He was on a mission in Liberia and thereafter posted to Maiduguri's Boko-Haram base when he returned. He therefore told me so many things about the fund for this issue, but nothing can be shown for.
Many top military officers have been enriched at the detriment of nation's security challenges; they even pray the situation should remain like this indefinitely.
Now, how can this be stopped when people at the top in this discipline are corrupt? They, however, believe this is their time to eat the fruit of the land because, there is no way they will overthrow government.
The guy even said they can finish Boko-Haram within a month if the fund meant for this mission is rightly used for its purpose; and that he doesn't see this issue get solved in two year's time as things are going.

As the situation regarding the on-going ASUU industrial action is, the truth of the said Memoranda of Understanding(MoU) could be known if the two warring parties can publicize a copy of MoU entered into. Without this, who should we blame? This latest development about the ASUU demand needs to be addressed now before it would worsen the situation of entire economy badly.
We have other sectors to be funded, but is the latest development truly contained in FG-ASUU 2009 MoU agreement? We need to see the copy of the agreement before we know what to say. This, however, also will reveal all signatory to the said agreement.

He truly and diligently served Jesus because he did come to my former church to preach and his teaching was exceptional; even my present church's pastor does say much about the late prophet of God despite the fact that they never met in real life - that is the work of Holy Spirit. That is the only Spirit that can reveal the mysery to His true servant about anybody.

blink182: and the decision of God is to forgive you. He forgave you even before you sinned. There is no love greater than His love for us.

Poster I know you are either deeper life or belong to one of those churches that believe they can impress God with their deeds. Hebrews 11:6.

The problem with you people is that because you think you can observe laws you are better than those who can't observe it but you forget that we are no longer bound by law. Romans 7:1-13.

What we do when we commit sin both intentionally and unintentionally is offend God but we have an intercessor pleading day and night on our behalf Romans 8:34 and our lives is hid in Him colossians 3:3 when God looks at a Christian, He sees Jesus.

We are dead to sin, Christians can't commit sin and it has no power over us or the power to send us to hell Romans 6:11.

Let me tell you, there is only one criteria to be met as a Christian to make heaven and that is John 3:16.

We should stop all these nonsense and stop scaring sinners away from the loving Father who loves us so much that he even numbered the hair on our heads Luke 12:7

Even look at 1 John3:9 'No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God' but you forgot to let people read from the beginning of chapter 3 what John is saying is not that we should abstain from sin because it offends God but an affirmation of Romans 6:11. Dude, we are dead to sin, Christians can not commit sin.

What exactly are you even trying to say? That a smoker of 20years should stop smoking the very day he repents, is that even possible except through the Grace of God that delivers him of that demon.

PLEASE CHRISTIANS OUT THERE, DO NOT LET ANYONE INTIMIDATE YOU WITH HELL. IF YOU BELIEVE IN JESUS AND THAT HE IS THE SON OF GOD, NOTHING CAN STOP YOU FROM MAKING HEAVEN.

There are somethings that shouldn't be said to baby Christians because they will abuse it. This nonsense of trying to please God through dead deeds should stop and we should embrace biblical truth, the Holy Spirit (our teacher, helper, master, friend, healer-love You so much) and let Him show you all things.

I jst want to say that both of u r right, only that some of us take it more serious than others.
To me, sin is sin, whether willful or non-willful. Bible says we cannot be in sin and ask for the grace to be abound. This, hweva, is the last trinity stage we r using, and we can neva compare our period wt those of Moses and other prophets and apostles's periods.
All I can say in a nut-shell is that, we should try and abstain from all sins by studying the words of God daily, praying and fasting; having done this, we shall see that gradually we see sins as somtins we can do away wt.
My brethren in the house, to get to heaven where Christ has gone to prepare for us, we need to take the task leading to that place serious as it is Bibly said that from the time of John the baptist that the Kingdom of God is suffereth violent and the violence taketh it by force.
Bye and may u all be blessed.
Religion / Re: Obadare To Be Buried In Gold- Plated Casket. by siaindeed: 12:32pm On Jun 15, 2013
Have u all inquired whether the dead prophet during his life time and his immediate family as well as his ministries really helped the needy?
If they did, should his surviving family use the budgeted money for burial to help the poor?
Did u ever ask urselves if the dead had a separate bank account to cater for the needy before and his death?
Anyway, I believe fervently that anybody who dares the man's tomb to take away the gold casket now in future will undoubtedly encounter the power of God in physical action because He will never allow the remains of His true blind servant to b toiled wt.
However, a certain woman in a Bible who bought perfume and rubbed it on Jesus's legs using her hair in which one of Christ's disciples went against her, why didn't jesus tell her that she should av used the said money to assist the poor? Because somebody has used huge money on a particular thing doesn't mean they don't help the poor.
If u r a manufacturer of such gold-plated coffin, will u ever pray not to have customers that would come for it? Would u ask the production dept to sop producing such on request wen u knw the revenue that is going to generate is substantial?
Even in heaven, the floor and other tins therein are said to be gold.
Can anyone tell me the real purpose gold, silver & other tins God put in the ground must serve on the earth? Simply for human usage.
Lastly, if it isn't a sin b4 God abt the gold coffin, u can continue expressing ur feeling freely on this issue instead of the sinners among u to quickly go and reconcile with Gold through only way - Jesus Christ.

To me, I will first of all put an end to corruption by sending a Bill to National Assembly for approval and placing a death penalty to corruption. Have u forgotten that, He raised from the dead without the help of any man or angel? That is why He is Lord.
He is very humble despite the fact that Judas Iscariot betrayed Him; He never cursed him for doing so. So, why are you all bothering yourselves on frivolous issue? Don't worry yourselves because you are not worthy to fight for Him where He is being mocked. Only Holy Spirit knows whether you that are troubled about this tweet are gunuine born again christians.
You better seek for a genuine repentance and make sure your salvation in Him(Christ) is secured in order for you to be rapturable when He suddenly appears in the sky with His innumerable angels.
Note that you won't go with Him based of your defending His name as this but your genuine salvation through Him.

Am a barca fan. The defeat 2de culd b attributed to two tins : fatigue, fcb board.
This fatigue occured mid-wk wen barca were still forced to draw d match in dia home soil against a ten-man Malaga in d 1st leg of Copa del Rey. This has hapened again 2nyt, and it won't exceed two wks b4 they will b re-energized.
Barca do experience fatigue for a short period in a season they lift trophies, and I tink ds is d best tym they can, b4 d resumptn of UEFE Champions league.
2ndly, board shouldn't av allowed Tito Vilanova to be on his seat as more tym is still needed to complete is recuperation. U may nt agree wt me, bt ds is a fact.
Wen cancer relapse was announced on his throat in Dec, his return tym to d seat is nxt month, bt he returned earlier dan expected - jst sidelined for three wks. Later, he went to US for check up until last wk dt he resumed fully.
Cancer on his throat will av bad influence on d pitch as free-flow communication wt his players shall nt b entertained; communication of any typ is a coaching charisma, and dat of a Tito can nt perform excellently even if players are making mistakes on d pitch.
Barca is a team that can rule football globe wt less coaching work, bt at tyms, coach's philosophy and ruggedity on and off d pitch shouldn't b ignored as ds may lead dem focuslessly. If Tito hadn't previously diagnosed of cancer, I bliv he should av displayed som verbal communication dat myt help d matter. Didn't u c him dt he found it difficult to open his mouth during d match? D fact dt d team are already established, we need a coach dt will incorporate his coaching charisma so as to avoid som avoidable losses to lower teams irrespective of dia position in league table or dia form. Barca players can neva win a trophy witout coach even if they are @ d peak of dia form; they need coach dt has all it takes dt will lead dem to glory, nt d one dt will fold arms and remain speechless; nt d one dt doesn't av body and facial expression. I mean we need d one dt should be able to manage crisis on d pitch cos, d fact dt u'v primarily done ur assignment as a coach b4 a match doesn't mean mistakes will nt occur durin d match. If dey occur, he should use both mental & physical skills to fight them.
Pls, we want Tito to Rest for a while as his dull and lukeworm on-d-pitch attitude affects team for now.

SHOULD I GET A TATTOO?

My personal view on tattoos

Unfortunately, my view on tattoos may be called irrational. I just don't like it; in fact, I hate it. I just grow up to find I don't fancy it...... for no reason. And that's why I said my views may be termed irrational, because my hatred for tattoos has no basis.

But then, my personal view on tattoos shouldn't count, so let's continue.

Tattoos

Should I define what a tattoo means? I am tempted not to. However, for the sake of organisation, let me do so. A tattoo is a permanent picture, design, or other marking made on the skin by pricking it and staining it with an indelible dye. When I talk of tattoos, I mean permanent ones.

Tattoos: right or wrong?

LEVITICUS 19:28: "You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you. I am Yahweh [Jehovah]." The above Biblical verse gives the impression that GOD outrightly condemns tattooing.

I have read many write-ups on tattoos. I came to discover that at the time GOD handed this command to the people of Israel through Prophet Moses, Israel's neighbours were pagans. These pagan neighbours marked themselves with tattoos and engaged in physical, religiously-motivated superstitious practices. THEY DID THESE MARKINGS ON THEIR BODY IN HONOUR OF THE OBJECT OF THEIR WORSHIP.... IN HONOUR OF DIFFERENT IDOLS. So, it's most likely that GOD commanded His people not to be involved with tattooing to avoid the risk of adopting such marks in honour of some idols, to avoid imitating the pagan worship practices that included the cutting and the tattooing of the body; and they were wisely forbidden.

Are modern-day tattoos pagan-associated?

One may argue that in the Old Testament, people did tattoos as part of a pagan practice, and devotion to an idol, but most modern-day tattoo-bearers do so for the sake of fashion, not because they are dedicated to a deity, and that Christians are no longer under the commands of the Old Covenant, so if a Christian wants to get a tattoo, then they should be allowed to.

That tattoos are no longer connected to pagan customs is not necessarily the case, because the receiving of a tattoo is still primarily a sub-cultural practice. The main groups of individuals I see tattoos on are those people who are outside the norms of our society. It is the bikers, the criminal gang element, the rock and roll culture, the gothic culture and other groups that act in rebellion toward the mainstream of society that generally have tattoos. If a Christian wants to get a tattoo, they need to take this into consideration and determine if, whether or not, they want to be associated with these various worldly groups whose world-view promotes rebellious attitudes. I do believe a Christian should exercise wisdom when they consider getting tattoos.

Should I put on a tattoo?

Like I said earlier, I have read many articles on the morality of tattoos. It is a well-debated issue in the Christian community, and there are differing opinions as to whether a tattoo is sinful or not. As a Christian, decisions need to be made with your eyes on God. So, if you do choose to get a tattoo, remember that, while man looks at the outside appearance, God looks at the heart.

Personally, I think the scripture does not explicitly ban fashion-related tattoos, or let me say the scripture is silent on the matter, but it does bring up the question as to why a person wants to get a tattoo and which tattoos to get. As with some sin it is not the act but the intent that matters.

Before you get a tattoo, critically consider these:

The question that remains is the “Why?” If you think a tattoo will score you dates because it’ll make you look cool – I would caution you to think about why you feel this need to “be cool.” What is the primary purpose you decided to get a tattoo? Is it to draw attention? A Christian should question whether or not such a practice is for the express purpose of drawing attention to themselves. Does it truly honour the Lord? Or will it negatively affect the body of Christ? Will I cause a weaker brother to stumble if I receive a tattoo? Is my decision based on faith and will the result be glorifying to God? Would this particular act needlessly offend my family, friends, neighbours, and colleagues, and thus hinder my ability to lead others to Christ and His Church?

Tattooing is often done by young and impetuous folks who want to be trendy, and thus they do not think of the consequences of putting a permanent mark on their body. When they "grow up" and desire to become serious about life, a family and a real job, having tattoos all over their bodies tends to be a distraction for them. They are people who got a tattoo when they were young unbelievers and now they regret it something terrible. All Christians need to ponder carefully if whether a tattoo is something they are willing to live with the rest of their life, before they get one. Fashions change, so one day tattoos will be out of style. How long do tattoos remain on the skin?. JEREMIAH 31:19 — "SURELY, AFTER MY TURNING, I REPENTED; AND AFTER I WAS INSTRUCTED, I STRUCK MYSELF ON THE THIGH; I WAS ASHAMED, YES, EVEN HUMILIATED, BECAUSE I BORE THE REPROACH OF MY YOUTH."

If the act of getting tattoo is rebellion against parents, authority, etc. – then it is a sin. For instance, if your parents tell you not to get a tattoo and you do it to spite them, then getting a tattoo is sinful, because God’s commandment calls for you to “HONOUR YOUR FATHER AND YOUR MOTHER.” Exodus 20:12. Will my future spouse want me to have this tattoo?

Which do you think is wiser: to do something that is permanent but will be popular for only a season, or to not adopt the popular, but passing, fad? People change their minds about what is attractive. Have you ever changed your mind about a clothing style or hairstyle, and then made the change in wardrobe or hairstyle? How hard are tattoos to remove? How painful? How costly?

There is some evidence tattoos can have negative consequences on one's health — enough evidence for some states and local communities to have regulations for tattooing facilities, and enough evidence to raise concerns by the European Commission. Is taking unnecessary risks to our health showing proper care for the temple of the Holy Spirit? Why or why not?
You have spoken well.
In addition your write-up, I strongly believe christians need Holy Spirit to commune with them because it is Biblically said that, those that are being led by the Spirit of God shall be call the sons of God; I mean a full-grown Holy spirit so that one won't just be giving himself unnecessary religious headache.
Did Jesus Christ not know what He was saying when He said that He was going and He would send a comforter to His disciples/followers that tell them so many things that He wouldn't be able to tell them as time was up to go and meet His heavenly father? He also said the Spirit shall make known so many things to them - these things can not be seen in the Bible because they are not recorded there; these things can not be found in the Bible as post Jesus events with the Christ-like will determine how Holy Ghost talk to them.
Jesus knew there were so many issues need to be instructed by God through Holy Spirit as the world is fading; He knew disciples/followers needed Him when He leaves and that was why He asked them to tarry at the upper room until the said Holy Ghost came upon them for the first time in the history of mankind.
My friend, I really appreciate this message as God will continue to communicate with you through His Spirit, a full grown Spirit of God.
To other Christians, leave Pastor Chris alone and try as much as possible to remain genuine in your acclaimed true repentance, hence ask for raw Holy Spirit.
Without that, I wonder why you would not be wasting your precious time commenting trash.
To unbelievers, you still have another chance to come to Jesus and reconcile with Him so as not to have His nailing on the Cross of Calvary in vain.

I am nt actually a member of RCCG but another pentecostal church and a true follower of Christ.
The man of God has spoken by sharing his encounter with the congregation, why are you thus disturbing yourselves? Anyway, muslims should be left out of this as there are many mysteries they can never understand about Holy Spirit, His gifts, how they work and other other things from now till earth will be rolled away.
I wonder at times when some baby christians in all walks of life talk trash as they don't grow in spirit. The only person that could counter the said man of God's claim is holy One of Israel Himself, and christians who have full grown Holy Spirit through spirit of discerning. But if you don't have Holy Spirit where God's power will descend on you like the days of pentecost, I wouldn't blame you for talking vain words.
Any NL fellow christian who genuinely have this spirit should prove this servant of God wrong on this medium if what he has so far shared with the congregation was not God's doing as Holy Spirit will be a witness.
Remember before you disagree with his claim that Ananias and Sapphira died instantly before Holy Spirit because of lies but you own may not be so and this could come in another dimension as the sin to Holy Spirit is not forgiven.
You can go ahead and disclaim him on this NL or other social sites.

There are mysteries in God and it is only those who are in true spirit of the most High shall be led to the things that men wouldn't like. Who knows if Pastor Adeboye asks Holy Spirit before he calls top political officials to the pulpit? Is it everything God asks Pastor Adeboye to tell GEJ and other political officials that shall be publicized? Before God, Nigerian President is number one in Nigeria; he should be honoured, God himself wants people to respect and their order. Has Pastor Bankole not read a story of Jesus when His father Josesph was asked by God to take him away so as not to be killed by Pharaoh? Goodluck's standing on the sacred place doesn't mean he is repented or hackened to the voice of God spoken to him through man of God, bt jst a grace as a President & call for repentance. Finally, Pastor Bankole should only follow Christ and not men if truly he is doing the will of God.
