1miccza: He's not wrong after dealing with this he should touch other regimes too... Sanusi and co have given the words and put their reputation at stake for the allegation. You can point what you feel is wrong with the previous administration out and let's see how a similar audit will look. On another hand I think, GEJ should have looked into the previous govt corruption allegation but you guys didn't raise alarm and GEJ did nothing. |

SLIDEwaxie: because it worries me that some minorities who feed from the crumbs of the PDP will want to force their vapid and insipid achievements that were in fact primitive (like the locomotive trains), and ideas that are useless (like the national confab). All carefully wrapped and packaged by sycophants (like barcanister), hoping that we all wake up one day as senseless (as mogidi), and accept all their lies so lies like saTANoids.
But come to think of it, is it not foolish for us as youths who have seen the 16yrs of futile rule of this party, and still not want a change.
Now, we are not sure the change will work, but the only people who failed are those who never tried. So, make we try this one...they have four yrs to prove their competence. Same govt that was telling us taxing of champagne and private jets is the way to go in the face of failing oil prices only for them to be planning to increase VAT from 5 to 10% in June (few days after May 29). |

tpiadotcom: i dont see how that's possible.
do you have any evidence? Going by the info that the average cost per student head spent on Fed Unis is 300,000+ excluding feeding accomodation, & personal upkeep I think most public school that charge 400,000 average per head offer much more value because they have better equipment, lecturers, and environment compared to the public schools. Example is 20+ hour daily electricity supply in private schools. |

truefact: What about those ones your Hausa masters looted. For crying out loud. .ND can loot after all it is their wealth. this is where most Niger Deltans supporting 'their brother' are getting it wrong. If you guys feel the northerner have looted from the nations resources the best thing to do is to go after them(the perceived thieves). Looting does not cancel out looting anywhere in the world. What you guys should do is expose the so called Northern thieves with evidence to nail them. |

Oautce: 2. It is initially capped at about 160mb (Supposedly unlimited speed within this period) 3. Once that fair usage is reached, speed is reduced to max 300kbps,attaining even half this speed is almost impossible. 4. It is later brought down to a max speed of 60kbps. At 300 kbps it is still a fair deal for opening of pages and updating of antivirus e.t.c what u didn't tell is the amount of time or data the 300 kbps lasted. |

Venom104: Yes they are occupying the top positions because their privileged parents know how they got them there.. an average strong 2.1 student is better than a first class graduate from a private university.. Let these first class crammers into courses that require deep understanding and intelligence, that is where you will see them falter. i agree the standard in private universities is higher and every information is spoon fed to them, public universities have a lot of catching up to do in that regard, but i tell you, they produce better professionals.. The private unis r regulated by public uni graduates like urself via NUC, so what's ur wahala with standard? Record shows that the average fed uni is more expensive than private uni. It is only a matter of who is paying the bills. How do u even start comparing a system where u can subvert 45-50% of workload by sorting, cheating or changing of scores to a system where u can go back to dig out scripts of students for remarking 5 years later? All these un quantifiable allegation of 2.1 is actually this and that is nonsense. |

Brugo: The prof said only first class graduates were involved. Take note that he said it in defence to the accusation of bias. What does that mean?
Let him produce the list of applicants, evidence of advertisement and the criteria for making the top list.
It is farfetched to imply that no northerner would make that list. It is possible for no northerner to make the list. Some people r even saying a 2 2 in north is equivalent to 2 1 in south, Nonsense! NUC regulates standard everywhere. |
Politics › Re: House Orders PRESSID Stopped Due To Abscence Of Northerners On List by Sibrah: 8:19am On Apr 24, 2015 |
Brugo: It is impossible for them to justify the exclusion of northerners from that list. Are they trying to say that there is no first class graduate from the north? That is impossible. Stop reasoning like this. It is a merit based scholarship scheme, and not some useless Federal Character based sharing scheme. What we should be debating here is the openness of the selection process and not exclusion of some people. |
Politics › Re: House Orders PRESSID Stopped Due To Abscence Of Northerners On List by Sibrah: 7:59am On Apr 24, 2015 |
How will a country move forward, when everything is shared by 'Federal Character' principle. The foundation of the Federal Character principle is faulty in the sense that the population distribution on which it is based has been distorted. |

bushdoc9919: Which is not being paid at that level....especially since ASUU was forced to take 1trillion over 5 years in 2013.
And anyway.....we need far more than the N30000 per annum. Some estimate that we need anything between N60000-2million per annum.
And now oil prices are falling.
Either fees go up....or our unis lose out.
P.S: Read this:www.scribd.com/doc/79378074/Education-in-Nigeria Simple truth is the public schools are corrupt. From academics to infrastructure private schools that aren't set up for profit purpose offer far more than their public counterpart do in terms of infrastructure and lecturers. The public school are a reflection of our corrupt government. How many public schools can provide 16-20 hours of power supply per day or meet the NUC standard of laboratories. They impose these on private school via NUC and use their power to pardon themselves. |

bushdoc9919: Federal universities cannot do as well as covenant because they are not well funded.
After all...when you pay N45,000 per annum...you get a N45,000 education. When you pay N500000 per annum...naturally the quality goes up.
If you want your federal unis to do well....pay higher fees for good facilities, and even better lecturers. Or get your government to find an extra N10 trillion naira in the next few years. Add the 300,000+ being spent by FG on all student. |
