OP, political alliances aren't conspiracy. The same Igbos playing the victim card now voted western Nigeria into this union, they did it in the hope of their political alliance with their 'masters from North' culminating into their domination of southern Nigeria. We know how hard it is for them to look at the North in the face for anything. |
Our little victories? Coming from Africa's largest party. |
On what ground? The only way these guys can be politically relevant on the short run is to form a tribal group group that will consciously sell their vote to whoever they collectively agree to. That way everybody will know where their loyalty lies and candidates will even build their demanded request before election. |
560,000 what! What's the spec of the watch? Are some of the Ankara impression made with precious stones or special material? |
If only we have this type in Nigeria then I can live in Benin and work in Lagos or Abuja cos I will be spending some 45min on train for each journey. That will also make things rough cos a girl in Onitsha can go visit her 'friend' for 5 hours and come back same day. |
Warfare subsidy . . . Baba God! |
KillerBeauty:a town with no real industries that runs on government money trickling down from civil servant and government project. |
jieta:Who are they suppose to kidnap when all the big men in town are the Ogas of the Youths? Ehn? The issue raised here is the truth. Warri is now a ghost of itself and is just a glorified Parasitic town like we have in states like Borno or Edo state? They just get large monthly allocation and most people tap into it. Deve today and deve tomorrow done chase the serious businesses them away. |
Sweetguy25:I want to disagree with you and gbawe. What we need is management and proper investment. One governor can build a road to a small rural farming community that enploys 2,000 people and another can set up powerplants that generate enough to sustain cluster of industries that will in Turn employ 20,000 people in 6 years time. Both are investment but different level of investment when the long term impacts are weighted. Concerning a reduced cabinet, the bulk of trimming should be at local govt and state level. What are the lawmakers in Osun and Oyo state doing that is remarkably different? Nasarawa and Plateau? Kwara and Niger? Or even Delta and Edo? Using a top-down governing system where the bulk of power required to regulate and rule is at federal level I think the Federal level of governing body should be ready expand even further. Excess salary and allowances should be done away with but not hands. |

Why MultiChoice Will Not Reduce New 'DSTV' Rates The whole process of adjusting the Multichoice monthly subscription rate is necessitated by the devaluation of the Naira by our FG. Before the June 2014 our exchange rate for dollar was N165 to 1 USD. Now when you paid N11,000, Multichoice exchanged it for 66.67 USD (11,000/165) but after the devaluation of Naira it started exchanging for some N200+ to 1 USD. so your 11,000 is now worth only $55 USD(11,000/200+). This will strangle Multichoice because they are used to paying their bills like Premiership transmission right, salary, Satellite maintenance in dollars. What they do in this case is to adjust their rate as if Nigerians were paying in dollars before the devaluation. Now that's the new value of $66.67 in a devalued naira setting, which is the current state of our economy, that gives N13,333 (66.67 X 200+). Most folks shouting here in Nigeria are so used to MTN free browsing and Aluta Continua in Sch. that they think it is their right to fix the price of services they enjoy. If anybody should cry foul here it is the Multichoice staffs. because they should be paid at the dollar rate of the old pay to cushion the devaluation effect. somebody getting 165,000 when Naira exchanged for N165 should be getting 200,000+ when dollar exchanged for 200+ and subscription was increased accordingly. olapluto:When the Jonathan die hard were throwing their weight behind all his blind moves blindly, they label anyone who isn't on their side parasite and oyel handout thieves. Let me do a little breaking down for you so you can see who runs on subsidy here. Before the June 2014 the naira exchanged for around 165 to a dollar and you and I know majority of the value being inputted into 'dstv' as we know it gets paid in dollar. Things like content, football transmission right, satellite maintenance cost and salary to their core staff in South Africa. Now along the line the Nigerian government decided to devalue the Naira, an action that lead to this same Naira to xchange for well above N200 to 1 USD. If multiChoice where to collect same amount being charged b4 d devaluation of Naira, they would incur shortage because the same Naira amount will now exchange for less dollar amount and multichoice will be in a dilemma when faced with shortage of dollar to settle transmission right for the next season football, Game of throne, and BBA. Most pple shouting in ignorance here are product of heavily subsidized system where the do MTN free browsing, cheat to attend subsidized education system, and run virtually on subsidy. They think their ignorance based Aluta Continua-approach will override the superior educated approach of MultiChoice. |
adebisiolumide5:there is no broad day ligth stealing from multoichoice, it is we Nigerians that are 99.999999% ignorant. The Naira has been devalued and multichoice does not pay all their bills in Naira. |
Most of the people blaming multichoice here are product of 'subsidy' system. Some people do free browsing cheat, cheat their way into subsidized govt schools, engage in subsidy scam with the govt and are simply trying to extend same beyond the shores of Nigeria. |
