Pinnacle Petroleum Limited today commissioned its $1 billion tank farm in Ibeje Lekki.

President Muhhamadu Buhari delivered the keynote address at the event.

Pinnacle is owned by Peter Mbah, PDP Gubernatorial candidate for Enugu State,

A dullard can't raise $1bn for a business. It's impossible. This shows he has something upstairs. Peter Mba is arguably the richest man in Enugu state.

Just saw his Manifesto, seems well thought out. Apart from 1 or 2 things, it's a good plan.

If he wins, I hope he'll pull a Sullivan on ndi Ebeano.

This deal now can be truncated. What if Tambuwal repeat his 2011 acts when he clinched the Speakership of HOR against the wishes of the party.

2011 is far sef, Saraki did it in 2015.

I mention Tambuwal because he struck a deal with Atiku before stepping down for him during the Primaries.

It is difficult to say Gburugburu didn't do well in Enugu North. To be fair to him, he tried in a few areas; A University plus a teaching hospital at orba; A speciality hospital at Enugu Ezike, A secretariat Annex, a conference centre and an estate at Ede-Oballa, the Opi-Nsukka and the township road at Nsukka and others. To be fair to him, nobody 10% of what he did in the zone. His dwindling popularity can be traced to :

1. The level of decay in infrastructural deficit over the years has made all his efforts to be largely insignificant.
2. Imposition of unpopular candidates across the zone and even beyond.
3. His adoption of the primitive philosophy of "Nrashi" which prioritizes stomach infrastructure over developmental projects.
4. Poor Media team
5. Inability to maintain and improve infrasture in the capital

It will be interesting to see how all these will shape the campaign and then the election outcome.

I am also watching how the presidential election in the state will turn out.

Ugwuanyi did not support the Atiku/Obi ticket in 2019 because of the closeness of the Atiku to Okwesilieze Nwodo. I don't see him supporting Atiku now

Obi and his LP team are also a threat to this man (Mbah). I don't know if he will be able to reach a pact with Obi.

or will he go the Chimaroke way and support Tinubu and the APC?

......it promises to be interesting

Just leant that Ugwuanyi wasn't present in Abj when Atiku launched his books.

Ugwuanyi is cunning sha, no one knows if he's in Wike camp or Supporting Obi.

I wonder why Gburugburu took the senatorial ticket of Igbo-eze south & people like Vitta Abbah & Dan Shere are supporting him.

Gburugburu is a very generous man. He captured the whole elite in Enugu with his generosity and this is the reason there isn't any opposition in Enugu. Most definitely, Abbah & Shere must have benefited from his generosity, they're observing table manners.

He used money meant for development to settle the Elites, most of whom we've forgotten. He even empowered their Children giving them political posts.

What ndi Nsukka have said here is a revelation. I sincerely thought Gburugburu did well in his Zone.

So Ideke + Obi factor may actually work after all. This is good news.

The only down side is he'll definitely work against Peter Obi, except Peter Obi somehow miraculously convinces Ideke to step down.

I share your sentiments too.

But we all know how sentiments shape our elections.

On paper, Peter Mbah is far ahead of others, but there are many changing dynamics that may influence the outcome.

1. Enugu North has 53% of the registered voters in the state. In the last election, they produced 49% of the total votes cast. For emphasis, Nsukka LGA alone had more voters than Nkanu West and East combined.

The challenge is that Ugwuanyi, who should be Mbah's chief marketer in the zone, has lost his popularity for two reasons.

a. His decision to go to the senate against the zoning arrangement in the zone. By convention, Igbo Eze South should produce the next senator of the zone.

b. Concentration of political positions and projects in his LGA alone, at the expense of the zone's interests. For example, if the PDP wins the gubernatorial and senate elections next year, Udenu would have produced:

i. A governor for 8 years (Ugwuanyi).
ii. A deputy governor (Mbah's running mate Ifeanyi Ossai is from Ezimo in Udenu
iii. A serving senator (uguwanyi)

For Project, Udenu alone has the following:
A new state University at Orba; A campus of the State polytechnic at Ezimo; A Teaching Hospital at Orba; A General Hospital at Orba.

2. The changing political dynamics. Ugwuanyi's perceived poor performance is forcing a lot of people to look for alternatives.

3. The Nkanu Factor: Three of the four leading candidates are from Nkanu land (Mbah from the East and Frank and Nnaji from the West).  For their deputy, all three of them (Mbah, Frank, and Nnaji) chose theirs from the North, while Edeoga chose his deputy from Enugu West (Oji River). All being equal, If Edeoga works hard, he could capture the North and if his deputy is able to deliver the West, it may just be over.

But then we can't underestimate the depth of Enugu PDP structure. I still do not see any party springing a surprise in 2023.

This analysis have shown you are on ground. Thank you. This is an unbiased analysis.

Peter Mba has a rich CV, I'm pleasantly surprised.

Hopefully we get to see them debate before the elections.

Unfortunately you're right about Frank Nweke, infact my friend said only New Haven, Ind Layout, GRA and Trans Ekulu will vote for Frank cry

Also I wonder why Nwakaibeya's past is shrouded in secrecy. No one knows what he does for a living. I have friends who are his supporters and all 4 of them don't know how he made his money. The only thing they say is that he's close to Uzodinma.

Guys on ground in Enugu, what's going on

Why did a serving PDP Senator offer to serve in the campaign council of APC Has he fallen out of favour with Peter Mbah? He wants Tinubu's billions? Is he angry Atiku ignored him or is this his normal madness
One thing is certain, Chimaroke lobbied to be in that Campaign Council.

Secondly, is Nwakaibeya of APC a force in Enugu? Is he a major contender? In a free and fair election, can APC win the guber election? There are fears that Enugu APC may use federal might to against opposition parties in 2023, could it be the reason why Ebeano has 1 leg in APC and another in PDP?

Is Enugu APC Chairman really a force in Enugu State?

Roads like that are many in Lagos, no sign to know you're entering One-Way.

Lastma, Police and Agberos lay ambush.

Wish i had stoopid money, i would've taken LASG to court. There should be a judicial pronouncement that makes it illegal for Police or Lastma to arrest anybody that makes the mistake of flouting the One way rule because there isn't a visible sign.

For God's sake this law is draconian.

I think Edeoga throwing his hat in the ring has evened the odds. Before now any betting man will put his money on MBA (pdp) but Edeoga may just have put sand in their garri.

If election is held today, Nkanu will divide her votes and Edeoga will get majority of Nsukka votes.

How will Awgu, Oji river, Udi and Ezeagu vote? Who amongst these candidates will win Enugu Urban?

Meanwhile it's already late, after Adamu Waziri, Sule Lamido, etc have insulted Wike.

Atiku is said not to have made any attempt to make peace with Wike after the Primaries and you now agreed for the party to vote on who will be your VP when you already made up your mind on who you wanted. See how BAT closed ranks in APC and unifier with 100 years experience contesting for President couldn't unify PDP.

More than 1/3 of the measures seeks to increase taxation in various forms and even suggested an incremental framework to up VAT to 20%. I can't believe the Governors are reiterating VAT to be reintroduced as an exclusive item. Have they given up on fiscal restructuring so easily? Also, while they are trying to transfer much of the expenditure finance burdens to ordinary Nigerians via increased taxation, I can't see any big cost cutting measure proposed. The ones up there are cosmetic in effect. They even sugested recapitalizing dormant agencies to take on some CBN interventions. The question is, what would be the change given that the so called interventions have failed to deliver real impact and much of the freebies, which are not productive/empowering in designs anyways, probaby end up as part of outflown capital (via corruption)?

We are not yet ready for REAL and SINCERE discussions that border on the existential renegotiations of this country. This is a joke!

Exactly!!!

The citizens must insist that these Governors must reduce the cost of governance in their States before any increase tax is implemented

I sympathise with the Landlords in that area, it's quite painful. However this should teach us a lesson, make we dey try confirm the land wey we wan buy with Town planning at the LGs or State ministry in charge.

Example, In no distant future Lagos will have a Governor that will want the state to compete with Johannesburg, Cape town, Alexandria, etc in aesthetics, beauty, a modern city. He/She will clear every illegal structure to reduce cases of flooding in the state.

STOP ALL THIS NONSENSE, PETER OBI CANNOT WIN ANYWHERE IN THE NORTH.

He doesn't need to win in the North neither does Tinubu. They have to just do enough to get block votes from their zones and get a minimum of 25% of votes in states in the core north.

Likewise Atiku & Kwankwaso don't need to win South. They just need to win their core Zones and get minimum 25% of votes in south states.

If INEC comes thru with BVAS and Electronic Transmission of results, this will be a rerun.

Gburugburu bought it for $3 million, so I knew he was going to sell it to the highest bidder.

But then, you never can tell. I hope Mbah brings his private sector experience in running the State

1st time i heard this gist was September last year when i was in Enugu. We were analysing who would Gburugburu give ticket to and someone said that Gburugburu would sell the ticket to the highest bidder because it was alleged he bought his ticket from Sullivan.

Private fire.. he's going there to recoup his investment.
